    Reservoir Sliders

The menu had a lot of items that sounded good to us, the reviews were decent, so we ordered delivery. Unfortunately, nothing wowed us. The Reservoir Sliders were the biggest disappointment- dry bread and meat, completely lacked any seasoning and cheese was not included even though it should've. The Mac & Cheese was also disappointing- close enough to something out of a box. I did like the Roasted Beet Salad but it seemed to be missing some kind of dressing, and the Brussels Sprouts weren't crispy. The Reservoir Chicken Club Wrap (or should I say burrito?) was generous with chicken, but again, not much flavor going on and fries came stale. Not sure if it was because of the delivery time that caused the subpar quality, but we really wanted to like it more than we did. Prices were too high for what it was.

Everything was a 10/10 we went on a Saturday right when they opened. Our waitress was kind and welcoming The bottomless mimosas was fantastic and lot lol The food was superb! I can't wait to go back, definitely the best brunch place in uptown we've tried. Also the playlist was bumping!!

Really cute place with modern decors and also a outdoor patio. The Reservoir is also dog friendly which is nice for all dog owners. Our server was nice and attentive. Ordered the fried pickles and artichoke dip to start. My sister ordered the reservoir burger and I got the pork belly sandwich. Both were tasty. We also got the kids chicken fingers and Mac and cheese for my toddler. Both are very large portion for a kid meal and a great price.

Showed up on a Sunday for brunch without a reservation. I suppose I should have made one, but we were out running and I wasn't sure what time we would be done (or where exactly we would end up). We were able to get seater quickly, though, at the front of the restaurant. This ended up being only a few feet away from the live band that they had there (lively jazz). There was zero way I was going to say anything about this because we did show up without a rez, but it was a little hard to carry on a conversation - but the music was good and it was really nice to be out in public. Because they were so busy, my expectations weren't that high for any kind of service. Wow, was a wrong! Super nice, quick and really efficient. Bottomless mims that came in a carafe are just genius. Brunch menu is also substantial and you really do get a lot of food! We ordered the braised pork poutine and chilaquiles. Half of both of the dishes ended up coming home with us. Would definitely come back for dinner or drinks if ever on this side of uptown again. Service was great, menu offerings were plentiful and all around atmosphere was super positive.

Finally had the Chilaquiles with chorizo for breakfast - yummy. Would order again!!!!

The staff were super friendly too and gave us some awesome recommendations, which definitely helped because there were so many things I wanted to try. I ordered the Harissa Shakshuka, it came with roasted peppers, onions, tomatoes, garbanzo beans, goat cheese, and two poached eggs, served with sourdough toast. When it came out, the presentation immediately caught my attention. The two poached eggs were sitting right on top of this beautiful, rich sauce, with the goat cheese scattered throughout. Once I cut into the eggs and that runny yolk mixed into everything underneath... wow. The flavor was outstanding. The tomatoes and roasted peppers gave the dish a deep, slightly sweet and savory base, while the harissa added a warm, smoky heat that slowly built with each bite. The garbanzo beans were soft and tender, adding this really nice texture. And the sourdough toast was perfect for this. I could scoop up the sauce, egg yolk, beans, and peppers all in one bite. That's when the dish really came together. This was a seriously delicious breakfast. Every bite had something going on, and I'd definitely order it again.

They have some big circular tables to accommodate larger groups. Fully wheelchair accessible. Good cocktails - my noble bourbon boozers will like the Brown Dog Old Fashioned. Cheese curds are supposedly good, so I was told, if you are into that sort of thing. Eggs Benedict is solid.

You have to order with the hostess at the door, unusual, but don't panic--it works well. And you can always add dishes or drinks from your table. John's is Michelin recommended so I said- sign me up. All I knew going in was the accolade and that the chef preferred to do hyper local- which im all about. The vibes are perfect IMO. Cozy, clean, organic shapes with that bar (see the featured photos). It also has a relaxed enough vibe that despite the prestige it is truly a more formal/casual vibe- being there on a sunday I saw a handful of small groups come in no res just looking for wine. The food itself was pretty good. I thought the pork collar was cooked well and they did what I was hoping a hyper local produce focused place would which is not over cook the vegetables and let them shine. One note: assume way more complexity than the menu displays. The pork itself for example is listed as just the pork veggies and with its sauce so my expectations were hesitant - but what made the dish great was the tang that comes from the seasoning/marinade. What really stood out to me though was the staff- it could be that I was there in a dead hour but everyone put me at ease as a single server at a table (v bar) and my server even gave me a taste of their amazing bandaged cheddar - which as a huge foodie really made my experience great. Because theres no way im easily grabbing that cheese. SO as well to their wine director Felix especially. He and I connected over the ceramics they feature (Monsoon Pottery- check her out) and when I spilled some sauce on my white shirt he was quick to get me some soda water and I heard him asking around for some shout. So- formal/casual place but I felt treasured. Which tbh is really what makes good restaurants different to me when youre hitting this price point in chicago. Plenty of POS fine trendy places down town.

Upon arriving, we were greeted by a friendly staff member who seated us outside as requested. To start, we ordered two piña coladas, which were perfect for the hot day. For food, we ordered the Parsons Big Dipper Platter, the three-piece fish fry, and Cindy's coleslaw. Let's start with the best part of the meal -- Cindy's coleslaw. It was creamy, flavorful, and exactly how coleslaw should be. The three-piece fish fry was tasty as well, although the batter was a bit too thick for my liking. The biggest disappointment was the Parsons Big Dipper Platter. According to the menu, it included hush puppies, chicken nuggets, and fried shrimp. Unfortunately, when the platter arrived, there was no shrimp included. We brought it to the waiter's attention, and only then were we informed they had run out of shrimp. It would have been nice to know that before ordering. It's surprising for such a busy restaurant to run out of an item that's featured on the menu. As for the service, unfortunately it was poor and inattentive. We constantly had to flag our waiter down anytime we needed something. Overall, the atmosphere was great, but the service and food inconsistencies made the experience disappointing. Not sure if we'll be returning.

And that's because the menus were being printed with a personalized birthday message! Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and struck the perfect balance of checking in without being overbearing. The mussels (provençal-style) were delicious and enough to share among three people. The truffle-parmesan fries: We couldn't tell if they were too salty or just salty enough, but somehow we couldn't stop eating them! I ordered the baby wedge salad with chicken, and while the chicken looked small at first, it ended up being a large enough portion to last the salad. We were also surprised with complimentary desserts: the Chocolate Chunk Cookie Skillet and Buck Russell's Cake. Though I'm not a sweet person, my dining companions thoroughly enjoyed them.

We were glad to get a seat out on the patio on a lovely Tuesday evening after having spent time at the Zoo just a short walk away. The patio is lovely, two servers handling the large space extremely well. There were some things we had that were standouts, and others that were just fine. The half chicken was excellent, cooked perfectly and rubbed with delicious warming spices, the potatoes and pickled veggies the perfect counterbalance. Similar idea to the dish at Armitage Alehouse, but better seasoned and a lot lighter. The steamed mussels rivaled those of Armitage as well at a fraction of the cost. Very different broth, but the mussels themselves were excellent. We were also really impressed with the tuna tartare, an excellent blend of flavors and textures we could have had seconds on. The crispy shrimp rolls were a slight miss, largely because the shrimp were finely chopped, rather than sliced chunks. You ended up getting more the essence of shrimp than shrimp itself. We also felt the skillet cookie was just fun, no better or worse than we've had at places like Crosby Kitchen. Overall, a really good meal that scrapes being really great at times, and does it at affordable prices with friendly, attentive service.
