Do not come here. It is hugely disappointing and not worth the money. What a terribly disappointing time our group had at the Reveler. My bf and I went to Iowa and western Michigan respectively, which matters later in the story and we arrived first. We had a different server come up to us 3 times with conflicting information but finally we got an app and drinks ordered. Our friends arrived to watch the game and one of the asked for ONE of the numerous tvs to be changed to a different college football game and they have some deal with Iowa? So they said no. Lol yeah right. We are ordering drinks and food and having a hard time even getting the server to come back. We are asked to enter the raffle-- all of us were-- including the ones not wearing Iowa gear which was about half the table , and nothing was mentioned as they asked for so much of our personal info that they had "rules" as to who could even win. I got my name drawn and walked up and was immediately- and publicly- dismissed bc of what I was wearing (WMU sweatshirt). So we came here, got our friends to come here, spent hundreds of dollars, and we get treated with unsportsmanlike conduct??? I don't care about the prizes but it was the principle. To wrap up, the food was all bad, the spinach dip was terrible and had no taste. The wrap I got was not good. We waited SO LONG for the other food -meanwhile the bar was half empty. The food was bland and gross. We had to track our server down the entire time for service. The management was the worst of all. We will never be back and I will spread the word to others to not come here. read more

We just has a 1 year old birthday party at The Reveler. We had a private side room with sliding doors to a private outdoor space, and a private bar manned perfectly by Jamie. He and the rest of the team assigned to our space made sure the drinks were filled quickly, food kept coming and were on top of what we needed. While this worked great for a kids party, it would work great for any get together. There are tons of TV's in the private space to watch any sports you want. Went here to watch a Bears game. This place is HUGE. Tons of indoor and outdoor seating and bar seats with easy views of TVs for the game. However the night I was there, I grabbed a seat at the bar and only one bartender was working. That lead to slow and inattentive service. The beer list had some good variety, but I'm not a beer drinker generally. Drink prices were reasonable. The menu didn't mention that a side was included with the sandwich so it was a pleasant surprise that I wasn't charged extra for the side. The menu was standard bar food. I got a burger and my friend got an individual pizza. The pizza came out a good amount of time before my burger did. The burger itself over overly salted such that was all I could taste. Pizza was described as alright. I don't think i'd go in unless I peak in first and see more people behind the bar. And I'd only just drink. read more

this place went from ok to atrocious really fast... fine ok, maybe the draft beer pulls make this place fun (not a beer drinker)...the pizzas i guess are ok (but i wouldn't go for their pizza. costco and mcd's have this place beat. spinach and artichoke dip served with 10 day old pita bread - you're given about a cupful of dried cheese with chewy artichoke leaves (the part of the artichoke that you should discard) and frozen spinach (read: mush). costco sells a version by the boatload in their refrigerator section and blows this crap away. burgers - straight from the freezer served on sawdusted potato roll. oh and don't get me started on their brussel sprouts salad. one of my HUGEST pet peeves is not including the ingredients listed on the menu. i'm a vegetarian, this is a salad, you can't NOT include an ingredient. it's like omitting the meatballs from the spaghetti and meatballs and then saying "oh yeah the kitchen was out". WTF. no cherry peppers and bottled honey mustard board onto shaved brussels sprouts (like from costco). so bummed as this is primo location in the 'hood. read more

I went when it was fairly new, but they didn't have any specials. It was a Saturday during the day and college football was playing. Not another soul in the place while I was there and when I ask what the specials are they tell me they're working on them. Really? Okedoke. Had a $7 beer then hopped over to Commonwealth for $3 mimosas. Too many bars in the area to not have specials, regardless if you're still getting up and running. Get your specials set in stone if you want repeat customers, guys. Come on. This is a restaurant management group, too, that manages tons of bars in Chicago. I feel like they should know how important this is? Willing to give it another try once they've got it together, but for now, I'll be hitting up some neighboring bars. read more

New service charge of 3.99% for credit cards is just ridiculous. Normal credit card fees are around 2% and most places don't charge that to the consumer. It was a pretty small amount on our bill but we won't be coming back. Management is clearly out of touch. They can continue to wonder why their bar is empty and village tap is packed. read more

Great addition to the neighborhood! Went there with a a group of 5 shortly after they opened. The atmosphere is awesome and the food was outstanding. We had a great server as well. Some highlights were the Havana rolls, the burgers, and the brick sticks (best mozzarella sticks ever!) We will definitely return soon. read more

The build out on this place is amazing. Totally redone from the old Riverview days. A huge selection of craft beers with a tap line that stands up to some notable craft beer spots. Nice outdoor seating and one side of the building has a floor to ceiling roll up set of windows. It would be a great spot to rent out for parties and events as one entire side of the place has a separate bar and seating. The menu is pretty expansive. In my opinion they should find a few dishes that they are great at and focus on these, become known for something. Also pick ONE college football team and market as THE SPOT to watch the game and pack the place out. ****** OWNERS-OWNERS- FIND the BEST bar manager you can and pay them. We stopped in here the other night to see what the buzz was all about. Gotta say we we're not let down. 50+ beers on tap, 10 self serve beer dispensers, massive mozzarella sticks(no joke the size of my arm) and pizza was delicious. I've found myself here several times over the last month and it's no coincidence. Their menu has been revamped with new cocktails like The Blueberry Mule and The Bee's Tequi's in addition to a "boozy shakes" menu and summer fave Frose. Super excited they finally took advantage of this space. Really nice inside...very big! Great for sports viewing, tv's everywhere! Seems to be kid friendly but also a good place for a large group hang out. Food was great! We had a few of the apps and split a grinder. All above average, and I appreciate the variety. Awesome drink menu! All the beers on tap, great cocktail list, boozy milkshakes, and even self serve draft beer. Service was great, I saw reviews of people saying it was slow...we did not have this experience. Staff was nice, helpful, and really on top of everything. As a die hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, I LOVE this bar! There is another bar in Lakeview that claims to be an Eagles but, but I've had a terrible experience there. Here, I can watch the Eagles amongst fellow fans, and they have great food, including some very authentic Philly specials, like cheesesteaks on Amoroso rolls, and scrapple. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and there is a really good beer selection. I think this is a great bar for any occasion, but especially during Philadelphia Eagles games! read more

I live in the neighborhood and was excited to try the new Reveler. Overall the restaurant looks nice inside and the bathrooms are much better with the renovations! We got the mozzarella sticks (brick logs on the menu) for an appetizer. It's a fun idea but they were disappointing. The middle of the mozzarella stick was cold because of the size and density. It felt like you were eating the crust of a deep dish pizza. We needed to use a fork and knife to cut them and it just really took away the appeal. The drink selection was great, several great beers to choose from. I look forward to going back to try a boozy milkshake. All of our food was good- we had a salad and chicken sandwich. The only thing was that the Southwest Salad was not with romaine lettuce and I wish that would have been listed on the menu so I could have switched that while ordering. Service was great. The only reason I have ever ended up here, at this place, is because Commonwealth is too busy, and the 2nd restaurant down the street was closed for a party, And the third one we tried was unexpectedly closed. It's a 4th option kind of place; the most average, run of the mill, sports bar. Nothing about it is great, nothing about it is terrible, except for one thing in particular. Do not, even if your life depends on it, ever, ever, think about ordering the chicken protein bowl. I cannot remember ever being served something worse than this dish. Unless you enjoy your veggies, chicken, and rice tossed with tons of honey and maple syrup, and red pepper flakes. But you don't, because there isn't a person in the whole gosh darn world who likes that. I will say they have a decent beer list. read more

We order food to go often from here but lately they can't get the order right and the person at the bar is quick to blame the kitchen while not checking that it's right. Today, we had lunch there and waited over 30 minutes to get sheet nachos. The waitress said the kitchen was backed up but they weren't busy and I only saw two people at the bar get their food while we waited. And then there is that surcharge. We feel they only care about people buying booze. If there is a manager here, i couldn't tell you who that is. Going to take a break from here and re-evaluate in a month if we want to come back. read more

We used to enjoy coming here just for the location of where we lived. We came for an Iowa game and I wore a plain black shirt. They did a raffle and I won, they told me because I didn't have an Iowa logo on I could not win. My friend also won who had a black tank on and they said she didn't follow the contract they had with Iowa (wtf). I don't care about winning the raffle. They were not nice to us after this happened. Prior to this I ordered a pizza. An hour went by and I asked the server where it was and she said they voided it because they thought I was upset. I was, but I never asked for my food to be voided or anything. On top of all of this we multiple times had to go to the bar to get drinks, service was terrible. I wouldn't recommend this place. Don't come here. There were also multiple other instances where servers came by treating us poorly and it made us want to leave immediately. Rude staff, poor service. Not worth a visit. read more

If you are just looking for drinks with a very good beer selection it's a great place. Their food has always been lacking and we gave it a few tries to see if anything improved. Inside of the bar is nice since it's newly remodeled and there are plenty of televisions to watch sports. Reveler would easily be a 4 star if the food was better. read more

Lived in the neighborhood for about 5 years and went to riverview (their old place) quite a bit. My girlfriend and I went there as part of their opening week to see what the new place was like. The remodel is awesome and the place looks great. Unfortunately they increased their prices without upgrading their menu. The meals we got were fine, but I can get a better meal across the street and save myself the extra $30. Looks like they will have good deals on certain nights so we will go back on the nights that make the quality and price more equivalent. read more
