Very Surprised!! At first I just thought this was a cool little bar in the heart of the Ann Morrison/BSU living communities, boy was i wrong! Their food kicks ass!! The menu has such a broad spectrum of cuisines which makes it even more impressive of how gourmet and unique each entree is. So far on my 7-8 visits I've tried the BLT sandwich (caramelized bacon + fried egg), BlackJack Sandwich, Chimichurri Steak Sandwich, Carrot-Ginger Soup, French Dip Sandwich, Chicken Wings (breaded Buffalo flavor), Boneless Chicken Tenderloins (both the Sweet & Spicy flavor + Mango Fruit flavor), Shrimp Cocktail Parfait (this is the ONLY entree that could use improvement...upgrade from the Bay Shrimp), SuperFood Kale Salad w/grilled Chicken (Yum Yum Yum!), Caesar Salad, Grilled Salmon over Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Veggies (fresh firm large slices carrots and broccoli such as you'd get at a Flemings). Staff is always on point and more than eager to remember your name, remember what you like, change the game and/or music if requested, they don't give you the death glare for extra sauces, and they're genuine. Never been disappointed when I've came. Although it took them almost 10 minutes for the servers to acknowledge me seconds after helping a family of 6 who had walked in much after I had. Regardless of that, who I seem to believe was the manager, asked me if I had been helped I said no and that I was gna go the bar instead and that it was completely ok. The BLTE with sweet potato fries was AMAZING! Chris the bartender was awesome and tentative. The manager gave me a menu the second I sat down and the service I received after made up for not being acknowledged for a min. Definitely will come back as always. read more

It was alright. It is decent bar and grill food, but nothing to write home about. The service was good and they were friendly. I had the noble wrap that barely had any shrimp in it, the shrimp were tiny and no blackened seasoning on it. The wrap was basically all shredded cheese. read more

The lift has about 5 to 6 different types of beer on tape at one time 3 different types of domestic beers and about 5 different imported beers there dark beer selection is very slim only 1 dark beer a obsidian stout which is a nitro beer which I would strongly recommend if ur a dark beer drinker. They keep there refrigerator at a great temperature so beer is nice and cold here. There is only 2 unisex bathrooms so look you sit down ladies. There Service is great but alittle busy on the weekends. They also have a nice music section. The artichoke dip appetizer is great. Everyone here seems to enjoy the sports on tv from the 8 tv's they have here and the wonderful and friendly environment. Overall I have a nice experience. read more

We came to try The Shed out due to the stellar write up in the Boise Lifestyle magazine. We started off with a quesadilla, an old fashioned and their spicy paloma. The quesadilla was tasty, however, the cocktails lacked personality big time. The paloma was watery and the old fashioned was pink. Next, we ordered the chimichurri (based on waitress recommendation) and the S.O.B burger. The S.O.B lacked the spice it promised but the chimi was tasty. I really liked the goat cheese kick. Food was good but we probably won't be back to dine-in because of the cocktails and lack of service. read more

Love this place. Has a nice outdoor seating area and it is near parks and the greenbelt. The food has always been great and service has been good as well. The only thing that stinks about this place is the parking. It is right across the street from the Boise State dorms, so good luck finding a parking spot near the building. As long as you are aware of the parking situation and prepared to walk a few blocks it's definitely worth it. read more

Well my friend and I decided to try out the Shed since it was close to BCT (were seeing a play). Walking in it reminded me a lot of another local bar/restaurant on state street the Lift. My dining companion and I decided to go with the happy hour menu. I got the katsu chicken tenders and she ordered "Idaho nachos" but got fries with melted cheese and refried beans (odd right? Haha). The waiter was super friendly and prompt; I wish he'd gone the extra mile and offered to replace the "Idaho nachos" with actual nachos instead of making a joke about it. The chicken strips were well breaded and plump (no puny chicken strips here); the breading itself had an off putting taste maybe the seeds they used in the breading not sure. I wish they'd just stick with normal chicken tenders no sense in getting too exotic when you've already got a great product. The sauces were okay; the jim bean bbq sauce was the best of the two. The happy hour prices can't be beat!! I'd go back maybe I'd try one of their burgers sometimes it's all about figuring out what they are known for and sticking to that. I can't speak to their burgers or other entrees just the appetizers and service. Like I said the service was very friendly and prompt wish he'd gone a little further in terms of my friends food..if you are looking for another happy hour spot this is definitely me to check out if you are in the area (maybe avoid the "Idaho nachos").. read more

We've been here a few times for dinner since moving to Boise and each time the food, drinks and service have been on point. It's a cool neighborhood bar/grill with a cool atmosphere. As others have said parking can be a challenge,but it's worth it. Try the Old Shed Fashion (basic Old Fashion) it's one of the better ones we've had in town. The food is good and it is close to my apartment. The biggest downside is the slow service. I was with a group of friends and it took 30-45 minutes after finishing our food to actually get the check. Not sure if it was because we are a big group, but it's also not that big of a place. read more

Good atmosphere, with great garage doors. Should have garage door on ceiling though. Proportions of food were huge and the meats were exceptional. I ordered a scramble, meat on the side. I didn't get the meats that I requested in a side bowl that I expected. We were thrown off by the stuffed fowl and the pheasant taped to the wall. Made uncomfortable eye contact with the chef multiple times. Great coffee that is serve yourself, but the booths were less than functional due to stiff wooden back rests. I was going to take a star off for not being within biking distance of my home. Service was attractive. Wifi options are abundant, overwhelming. Awesome service and great atmosphere. The waitress took the time to know her guests and went above and beyond. The honey lime chicken sandwich was awesome as well as the French dip sandwich. They have options to order tator tots or French fries which is great for picky eaters. All in all. I would highly recommend this place for families, meetings or to catch up with a friend. read more

The food was good, and it was a cool spot! The only problem was our server (Haley B). It was pretty packed so we sat outside, we were very easy going and fine with waiting! But she was not friendly whatsoever. She tried to help chose vegan options, and didn't have any knowledge of the menu she was serving. I figured it out on my own (potatoes, veggies, fruit cup, and avocado) and she came back about 25 minutes later explaining everything was cooked with meat grease (ew). She recommended a fruit cup and potatoes. When it came out, the potatoes had a tiny bit of veggies in it, with a fruit cup on the side. I'm not sure why there couldn't be veggies added like she said, since they came out with some in then anyway. And there was no avocado either. Watching her interact with other customers, it was obvious she was not having a good day (or just really rude). Everyone else at my table really enjoyed the food! But agreed the service was rough. I am very understanding that not all restaurants are up to date with vegetarian/vegan options. But typically a server should know the menu well enough to help pick something which she did not. Here we go.... So to start off my experience I had to ask four time for some coffee creamer. Not a big deal. Then the waitress (such a sweet girl) was cleaning off the table we sat at and spilt her whole tray of water cups on me...and honestly I wasn't that mad about that because she was nice and offered to pay for my meal. Then I order the monte cristo with potatoes and find large chunks of parchment paper in them and so did 4 of the other people who got their meals. We informed the waitress and we watched her let the manager know.... expecting some type of apology or i don't know, compensation but nope. Then we try to try our checks and it actually took an hour. In all honestly I feel bad for the waitress and don't blame her but I would rate this experience a 0/5. read more

Prompt and friendly service, college crowd mixed with a few 30-50 year olds, myself included. Food was good, and was delivered quickly. Incidentally, I did have the hamburger and it tasted fabulous and was cooked all the way through. Another Yelper seemed to have a problem with the burger, but I did not. I normally don't make yelp reviews, so I'll keep this short and simple. Don't think for a second that this is bar food. This is real, legit, quality food. Everything on the menu, from the burgers to the sandwiches, could easily be something I would expect to get at a gourmet restaurant. The food is incredible, the environment is very nice, and the people are friendly. Since it opened around 2 years ago, The Shed has quickly risen to the top of my favorite places to eat in Boise. Neat place, good bloody marys, dismal vegetarian selection. I'm pretty certain every single item on the brunch menu has meat in it, though you can ask them to leave it out. Unfortunately, since the dishes are built around meat, we found our meal pretty bland. read more

The shed has always been a go-to brunch spot for us but we decided to go for dinner after a softball game. We sat and watched the waiter drink a beer behind the bar and not greet us whatsoever.
