Wow, I just had the best takeout from The Stand! It arrived very quickly, and it was delicious. It's rare that you get takeout that is the same quality as it is in the restaurant, so I'm super impressed by The Stand. I ordered a Build Your Own Burger with Swiss cheese, tomatoes, grilled onions, lettuce, and an impossible patty. It was so good-- most definitely deserves 5 stars! I love that there was an impossible patty option, but I plan to head there for a meal in person and give the falafel burger a try. So, I'll have to post an update for next time. HEY-OOOOH! First time at The Stand. Was looking for a restaurant to eat at with my wife and a friend before a show across the street at the Pasadena Playhouse. It was recommended by a friend and didn't disappoint. Fully enjoy this place! It's very casual and not a traditional sit down, you just order at the counter and they give you a number and bring out your food. THE FOOD: We ordered the barbecue brisket sandwich, kale salad with Ahi tuna and Stand fries. The food was very fresh and flavorful. The barbecue sauce on the sandwich was really tangy and sweet, which I loved. The salad portion was really big and the dressing was tasty as well. Lastly the fries were cooked well and had a hint of garlic in them, which my wife really loved! Bonus: small but tasty beer selection! THE STAFF: they were wonderful and answered all my questions when I ordered. Incredibly nice and attentive. I was very disappointed in the sloppy preparation of the burger I was served. The bun was completely soggy from the sauce, lettuce and other toppings. I asked for well done, but it was pink on the inside. As I was in a rush, I didn't have time to take back the order so I ate around the outside edges. I definitely will not go back to this location or any others. Also, the prices are too high for the mediocre quality. Yummy. I've been meaning to try this place out for awhile and finally went! Kale and quinoa salad was so refreshing and very filling. I added hot grilled chicken to it. Definitely gonna try their other salads in the future. I did take a bite of the Southwest chicken sandwich and that was tasty as well. We came in Saturday 7pm and there was no wait or line. Sydney helped us order and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu since it was our first time. We ordered the food, and sat at one of the tables inside (outside seating is also available). We ordered The Stand Burger, The Short Rib Grilled Cheese, The Southwest Chicken Wrap, and the Fire Fries. EVERYTHING was AMAZING! The Stand Burger was juicy, cooked to order and had a fluffy brioche bun. The Short Rib grilled cheese was crispy, cheesy, meaty goodness. The Southwest Chicken Wrap was creamy, refreshing and light. The Fire Fries were indeed FIRE with a kick and served with a side of cooling ranch. The service was amicable and prompt, the restaurant was clean and well kept and the food was great. I have been going to The Stand for years and as a matter of fact it became one of my go to restaurants through the covid lockdown. Over the years I've ordered several Grand Stand Turkey Sandwiches, I even had one a couple of weeks ago and it was great. Today, my sister was going to pick up a few items from the Stand and asked me if I wanted something. I ordered a Grand Stand Turkey Sandwich. I can't decide if it was the best onion sandwich or the worst turkey sandwich. I have to say it was both. I've never been so disappointed. If it weren't for social distancing, this place would do really well with gatherings, which they also have such a variety selection of hamburgers, hot dogs, alcohol, etc. to cater everyone to! So I like to go with my classics and decided on the Stand Burger (a regular hamburger) with a side of small fries, total being around $12. First bite, I could tell it was better quality meat than fast food chains, and really appreciated that they cooked it medium rare for me! Although, the hamburger would fall apart really easily and it got really soggy most likely from all the lettuce inside. The sogginess kind of ruined it for me, but taste overall was pretty good, especially with the Stand Burger sauce! The fries were also pretty soggy and felt kind of too greasy for me. Overall, it was just okay to me (maybe a little bit above average?) but something I wouldn't drive out of my way for. read more

I would always drive by this location and I never bothered to stop here. Until, my internship took place in the office upstairs "Spaces" and lunch time came around, so I decided why not try it. I went with my friend that is also part of my internship and she ordered the ABC Burger and Brussel Sprouts. I ordered the Southwest Chicken sandwich and Sweet Potato fries, and we both shared half of each our burger and half of our sides (Sweet Potato Fries & Brussel Sprouts). The food was superb! Not only did it taste fresh, but it was well seasoned and cooked. Not only was the food AMAZING, but the service was above and beyond exceptional. The cashier, Eric, was very helpful and friendly. The healthy sandwiches at the Stand weren't very good, but the unhealthy short-rib sandwich was good. I just want to say this salad wrap was the most fire thing I've ever had and I WASNT even faded. It was legit a 15/10 trust. I don't even like salads like that but I wanted to get some greens in along with the burger and decided to go with the wrap instead of their salads. I got it with no peppers and it was quite a good flavor combo. For the burger, it was pretty good but felt like crap easter eating it. The menu had something for everyone and for every occasion, the food and drink was fresh and delicious, and the service was fantastic! Highly recommend! The first time I tried The Stand I visited their location and did a build-your-own-burger. It's easy to order and once you've ordered at the counter you get a number and sit-down. They'll bring it out once it's ready. I also purchased a drink and got their agua fresca which was super refreshing. They also have homemade lemonade and a Coke freestyle machine. I also tried their small mac & cheese. I appreciated that their menu had options for vegetarians, people who don't enjoy beef, and picky eaters. Everything I got was incredible! We chose to sit outdoors, where we enjoyed nice views of the Pasadena Playhouse across the street. I advise anyone meeting people here to allow extra time for parking. I came here not really knowing what to expect. On the menu I saw a list of burgers where you can choose your type of protein and bun, which I thought was nice. There were a lot of creative burger options. We chose the French Onion Soup and the Big Blue. I think the default is beef and brioche bun because that's what we got (and wanted anyway), we didn't think to ask for anything else. The French Onion Soup burger is piled high with fried onions and comes with an au jus to DIP YOUR BURGER INTO. And oh my, that au jus was incredible!!! The burger itself was good, meat was cooked nice and medium (the way I ordered it)... but without the dip the burger was not as exciting on the tastebuds. The Big Blue did not look as impressive as the previous burger, but the taste was even better! It comes with delicious blue cheese, bacon, grilled onions, arugula, roasted tomatoes, and some sweet jam or sauce. It reminded me a bit of a Father's Office burger but with less meat and maybe a little healthier because of the tomato in it... maybe. Also got an order of small fries which were shareable between two people. Unfortunately, the fries were forgettable. I'd like to come back to try other items on the menu, including the shakes made from frozen custard... I miss frozen custard very much (Midwestern girl at heart here). read more
