Saw them preparing a catering order and the chips were super fresh. We tried the criss cut fries with cheese sauce and it was bomb dot com. Ever since the ownership changed, the quality is not the same. I have tried it 3x since the changed ownership, and each time have been more and more disappointing. Today was the last time for me. I got the steak torpedo, per usual, and it was just bread and unmelted cheese. There was barely any steak or onion on it. The "steak" that was there was the saddest excuse for steak. I really hoped when Mark and Rosie left that it would be the same yeller sub, but it sadly isn't. Best sub in BURQUE! The Turkey submarine(add Provolone) is amazing. No mayo, or mustard or any of that other junk. Just the homemade Italian that comes on it is perfect. Awesome staff. Things have been tight money wise during this COVID-19 time, but I've sought out local businesses because can't even imagine what they've gone through. The other day I treated myself to a tuna torpedo and loved it. I've had other subs from here as well, but trying to be a bit healthier I figured tuna was IT! Tuna with avocado and cucumbers. I'm certainly no professional reviewer, but i do know what i like and i like to reward people who go the distance and who are clearly proud of what they do. From the outside this isn't the sort of place you'd first be attracted too. Strip mall, on Montgomery... just happens to be next door to a place we buy bird food from (yeah... bird food). Hungry one Sunday so we gave it (yeller sub... not bird food) a try. You know this place has been around since the 70's... and i imagine they've been doing it right that long. Damn good sub sandwiches, homemade chips, bread is made in house... good pastrami and the sort of place where the food comes out quick, with a smile and all three times i've been there the owner walks by at some point to ask if everything is ok. Oh... and they have all sorts of ice cream and malts... never tried them... but it's blue bell i cream so what could go wrong. This looks and feels like a place a guy built from scratch, it's usually packed on a sunday around 1 pm when people have lots of other choices... they are very friendly and the food is good.
