To All: I've been coming to knotts Berry Farm Hotel for a number of years and I liked Amber Waves restaurant. Last year I was very disappointed that it was closed for renovations. I was worried that when it opened again, it wouldn't be so good. Well I was worrying for nothing. It's amazing how much better it is now. Thirty Acres is a must to eat at. And I have never met a waiter, waitress or any kitchen staff or hosts that wasn't willing to help. All employees here are great! But one is exceptional. His name is Eddie he's been working here for 20 plus years. He's awesome, amazing and will make your eating experience the best. Thank you for all you do Eddie. breakfast buffet was solid. everything is super fresh and the cast members are constantly bringing out more food and keeping everything full. ive heard they had french toast sometimes but they had waffles today. only reason i wouldnt give 5 stars is because of the service, i was only helped once when i sat down when the server asked me what drink i wanted. he never came around again to ask how it was, or if i could use another drink, he dropped the check off about 10 minutes after i sat down. maybe if i ordered off the menu he would have came around more but he never even came with water. but the food was overall pretty good, but el torito brunch just as good imo if not better read more

I had made a reservation for the valentines dinner at thirty acres kitchen. I was really looking forward to it since I had made the reservation a month in advance. Life happens and I was running about 10 min late, I called about 15 min before the reservation to let them know since. They proceeded to tell me that they will move onto the next person in line even though I had a reservation for a set time. My boyfriend and I show up about 5 min after instead of 10. We then get seated an hour after we get there. TOTALLY DISREGARDING OUR INITIAL RESERVATION TIME. (I get it that some may say I deserved it for being late, but there are so many restaurants who will seat you even after being less than 10 min late). There was a party of 4 who got seated at a table beside us after we sat down (which is important later as well). We ordered our appetizer, then on the menu they had a chicken Wellington option so I was wanting to go for that. Our waitress told me she would go and double check if they had any because she said they were out and asked if I wanted a second option just in case. She then proceeded to tell me that she would let me know if they had the chicken available or not before bringing the food out. Low and behold our food comes out and I get the filet (which was cooked the way I wanted so good for that) but the waitress never came back out to even tell me they were out. The table next to us had ordered their food right after we had gotten our entree, so by the time we had received our dessert, the table next to us had gotten their food. I then noticed that one of the people on the table HAD RECEIVED a chicken Wellington. Our waitress came by and I asked her if they were out to see what she would say and sure enough, she said they were out. When CLEARLY someone had it right in front of them. I expected way better from Knott's hotel Thirty Acres Kitchen. This was BY FAR THE WORST VALENTINES DINNER EVER by a restaurant. If you are taking reservations for a valentines dinner, you would have expected them to at least prepare enough food that people may order. Especially since there were only 3 options for the entree. The service was terrible, since my boyfriend (who doesn't drink alcohol and was only drinking water) had never been asked for a refill on his water. Shocking legit happy hour. Friendly staff. I live in walking distance and also am a knotts and dland pass holder so we lean into the theme parks. This spot is a nice change for knotts and its hotel. A suggestion to management. Get good food established and drop prices as low as you can. Then get a customer base then slowly raise prices. Right now your food is just expensive and it's keeping people away because you have a quality perception problem still. Fix it by lowering prices and reestablishing your customer base. read more

The only good thing was the food quality on Saturday evening, aside from the slow and irritable service of the male server. Felt like every request was an inconvenience and we had to ask for things multiple times before receiving them. Breakfast buffet Sunday morning was horrible. No gravy for biscuits and gravy during the whole 45 mins we were there. French toast was like rubber, potatoes were mushy. 4 out of 8 cups at the table were dirty. Our male server was fantastic. Came back to get a to go salad later that night around 8:45. The female hostess in the front (name started with an M, I think) was rude, pushy, and unprofessional. Tried to convince me to choose room service instead of ordering at the counter with her. Told me I couldn't get a side of mashed potatoes without getting a whole entree. Brought out the wrong salad for me to take to my room and didn't bring dressing (I assumed it was on the salad). Was very short with me and seemed irritated. I came back down and she told me "you forgot the dressing." She had sent me on my way without indicating it wasn't on the salad. I was given a completely different salad than what I ordered. The cleaning staff out loud said "I f***ing hate people" while cleaning right by the front waiting area. The (what I'm assuming is) female manager or lead, was irritated a party of 9 came in at 9:00 and was throwing her hands up in the air and said "I warned them" after she advised the kitchen closed in 30 mins and they were okay with that. The breakfast buffet Monday morning was worse than the day before. Food is poor quality, same items as day before aside from the waffles, had to ask four times for orange juice, creamer, and butter. For what we paid to stay here, I am appalled at the service and quality of food experienced. It would greatly benefit this restaurant to hire more professional staff and consider the quality of the food for overpaying patrons. read more

My husband and I stopped by to see the renovation and it is beautiful. We sat at the bar, ordered the nachos and I had a glass of wine. The nachos were dry, not much cheese no avocado or sour cream as stated in description. We added ground beef. I wish I would have taken a picture, for $18 not worth it. We order nacho often from many places and this was a disappointment. We told the manger, said he would say something to the kitchen. The service was very good but I don't know if we will be back. Mid. Used to work here back in high school when it was called Amber Waves before I went up to college and had to quit. I brought my friend from LA over in the middle of a day at Knotts. Long walk from the park but I thought it would be worth it for a trip down memory lane to good old Amber Waves. When I saw the sign for "Thirty Acres" and saw the menu, I was reminded of the classic American menu--complete with loaded nachos, personal pizzas, burgers and steaks. It was a Friday midday in June, but it was pretty empty. Just one other couple in the whole place drinking and eating. Our waiter was very nice, but admittedly a bit un knowledgeable about pretty standard drinks from the bar (we asked if they had Paloma or a Moscow mule...he raised an eyebrow. Seemed like he'd never heard of these drinks.) My friend liked his New York steak. I thought my Meat Lovers pizza tasted like a Red Barron microwave pizza. Honestly kind of disappointing. We also felt kind of rushed to leave, we are both Mid 30 Latino men and I get as someone who worked (literally on the same grounds in high school as a busboy) you get kind of bored when it slow and want to clear tables but I didn't even get to a sip of a cocktail before the bus boy tried clearing us out. The waiter did apologize about rushing us, and nicely explained the restaurant as well as the whole KBF is cashless but still seemed pretty intentional about getting us to pay and get rolling... Overall, I wouldn't come back unless I'm staying at the hotel and need to get lunch in with my wife(she's White and admittedly I do get better service in OC if we go eat out together). I just miss the cozy feeling of Amber Waves. This new place just seems out of place with the old western feel of KBF, though I noticed the whole hotel got a face lift, decked out with plantation vibes and Uncle Ruckus types. read more

Ate here for breakfast both nights I stayed at Knott's. Prices were surprisingly reasonable (except the buffet...that was on the pricey side), especially for an expensive hotel. The food was good and the portions were rather large (even the kids meals). Service was pretty quick as well. Given the convenience of the restaurant being in the hotel, the good food, and fair prices, you'd be foolish to eat breakfast anywhere else. read more

The bartenders were super nice but I ordered a $10 large white claw and when the bill came it was $15. I pointed out the menu said $10 and they said "oh yeah we know, that's a typo, you'll pay more in the park" I said get sharpie and correct your menu. I want to know I'm getting what I ordered. I asked for a manager they sent over Hil, who they said was a manager but he was apparently a supervisor who said "what did they bartender tell you... it's a typo." A typo is not an excuse on ALL of your menus. Charge what's on the menu or let people know and correct it. I understand reprints are pricey...using a sharpie is not. They could easily correct it and at least let people know what they are going to be charged. They eventually said they'd honor the printed price but would have to wait for an actual manager who wasn't on site and it could take several days. It's a bummer because Frank the bartender was super nice but you have to charge people what is in print. I usually try to only post positive reviews but not charging the printed price and then trying to dismiss it is not ok. California law SB 478 requires them to charge their printed price, shame on you Knott's hotel and supervisor Hil for saying otherwise. It's about to be busy Knott's scary farm season at least be transparent with your pricing. People will pay more, but they need to know up front. You can do better Knott's hotel! Beware. read more

This is located in the Knott's Berry Farm Hotel which has recently been remodeled and it's open and airy and modern now with still a hometown feel, it looks great!! Came here with a large group (family dinner) and everyone was so nice and accommodating! Special shoutout to our waiter Alex who was so attentive and personable and gave great honest recommendations about his favorite dishes. We all ordered different things and no one was disappointed the food was incredible! Some notable dishes were the Cajun salmon, chicken pot pie, knott your average tacos, pizza, and the barn burger. We all shared and everything tasted amazing. And of course when you're at Knott's a boysenberry pie is a must for dessert. The restaurant only sells by the slice but Alex went and got a whole pie from the bakery to accommodate our large party which was really above and beyond and so appreciated! They also do holiday brunch buffets. Definitely will come back for multiple occasions! read more

I wish I could comment on the food but unfortunately in 21 minutes that I waited at my table with two hungry kids, we where never approached by any team member to greet us or to ask us for any beverages or just say "Hello, we will be with your guys shortly". Other than the hostess that seated us, and wished us a good evening on the way out, unfortunately only to sour her face when I disclosed that we were never waited on. Look, I understand that this restaurant is located at a theme park hotel, which I must say is quite nice btw, so I wasn't expecting a 5 star meal , but was expecting to at least be greeted and served. Having worked 6 years of my adult life in restaurants on the Vegas strip I know the expectation of service and accommodation to guests, especially if you represent the brand on their own property. Just utterly dissatisfied with the taste left in my mouth by Knotts Berry Farm hotel and guest services. Wanted a nice easy evening at the property and walk down and enjoy a meal. Not have to drive 10 mins away just to eat dinner! I imagine that Shakeys pizza is gonna be better anyway, not that I would know! We came to knotts for my daughter's 4th birthday and originally planned to go to fridays for dinner because they "sing happy birthday" which was all my daughter wanted... but fridays was closed when we left the park at 8:30, so we decided to dine at 30 acres.. and we were not disappointed by any stretch of the imagination. Our server Edgar was beyond amazing and went the extra mile at every turn.. we were truly impressed. He accommodated every request, and made the night absolutely perfect for not only us, but our birthday girl. The food was great but the service really stood out, and at the end of our night, not only did he bring a birthday dessert but came out with Steven (who is equally amazing.. managers please take note!) they both Sang happy birthday to her, and they were genuinely happy to do it.. I worked in the F&B industry for over a decade before I transitioned into the hospitality side and I would have been thrilled to have people like Edgar and Steven working for me. They both are great at what they do and I'm confident they will go far. Long story short. The food is great but the service is amazing!
