We visited Tidal+ twice during our stay. The first was after check-in. We had a long day of travel delays and did not want to venture far for dinner. We were promptly seated and the wait staff helped orient us to the menu selections. Our drinks arrived quickly and were delicious. We enjoyed the fried Brussels sprouts, more than expected! (And enjoyed all of our food selections.) I was very pleased to find a great place to eat right in the lobby of our hotel! On the last night of our stay, we met a friend for drinks before dinner. We came here for an early dinner. It's right across from our hotel at the Olive 8. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. The table we were taken to was really small. Since the restaurant was pretty empty we asked if we could get a larger table; the host was very kind in accommodating us. We brought a special bottle of wine from home (corkage: $25) and our server, Stephanie, immediately put it in a bucket of ice table side. Stephanie provided 5-star service throughout our meal. We also really enjoyed chatting with her. We started with oysters and two different glasses of sparkling wines. The oysters were perfect; we were in bliss. When topping with the blueberry ancho granita sauce, they matched perfectly with the Stoller Family Estate Pinot Noir Rose. I highly recommend this pairing! For entrees we had the King Salmon and the Alaskan Halibut. The Alaskan Halibut had a tasty lemon dill butter sauce plus clams and asparagus. The clams and asparagus were really fresh. The asparagus was the most flavorful I've ever tasted. Unfortunately my husband had to send back the halibut due to it being very overcooked; to the point that the texture was really tough. The staff was very accommodating. It did throw off our experience a bit as I was finishing my meal when he was beginning his. The second halibut was cooked perfectly. It was very flaky and my husband really enjoyed it. My salmon was dry, as was the jasmine rice. The long beans were really fresh and delicious. From talking to one of the staff it sounds like they get their produce from the Pike Market. The vegetables really stand out here. We finished with the Salted Caramel Hazelnut Mousse. This again was a mix of great and not so great. The chocolate crust was stale, hard, and didn't taste very good but the top part of the dessert was fantastic! The flavors were perfect with our older chardonnay, which also had notes of hazelnut. Even with the unevenness of the meal, we still thoroughly enjoyed our early evening. Just had the BEST burger I've ever had in my life, and I've had plenty. The burger was moist and so flavorful. From the first bite I was a goner. I'm very picky about hamburgers and believe me if we were in town for another day I would go back and do it all over again. My husband had the Bang Bang shrimp and they were excellent also. We stayed at the Hyatt that is attached to the restaurant so we had 2 meals there. Dinner was good as far as the quality of the food went. I had the grilled salmon and my husband had the grilled halibut. It came with a bitter sauce and we both appreciated the server suggesting that we get the sauce on the side because it was rich. The restaurant is obviously understaffed and service was very slow. Cocktails tools more than 20 minutes alone. We had to return for breakfast (captive audience). There was no hostess and 2 servers and a runner. The server that dealt with our request for a table in a half empty restaurant told us it would be more than 15 minutes, and no, we couldn't sit at the bar. Borderline rude. We ordered immediately after being seated. Got one cup of coffee with no follow up. Food came after half an hour and it had obviously been sitting a long time (cold) while the runner took his break. We were watching the 2 servers stand around in the meantime and they were not bustling around trying to care for the 5 tables each that they had. The cream spilled when the food came. We put our napkins on it and that was the extent of cleanup. They missed part of our order. The runner was hustling but not the servers. They didn't care. Hostess arrived and she took charge. Really a bad experience that didn't need to happen. We only went to breakfast after the poor dinner experience because our breakfast was comped as part of our stay. It wasn't worth it. read more

What a lovely surprise to find such a delicious spot for dinner right in our hotel! I'm not sure what Seattle's reputation for hotel restaurants is (for example, in New Orleans I've had some of the best meals of my life in a hotel restaurant), so I was happily surprised to find Tidal+ so enjoyable both for their food and the excellent service. Reservations for 7 pm, we arrived about 10 minutes early and were greeted and seated immediately at a lovely window seat inside so we could enjoy the fabulous Seattle people watching on a Saturday night. Our server promptly welcomes us with fresh water, then allowed us to peruse the craft cocktail menu for our next steps. I opted for the Sea-Garita and my dining companion chose the Thousand Kisses (?) - a sweetish, elderflower cocktail I didn't try because sweet really isn't my thing for drinks. The Sea-Garita arrived with the promised salted seafood and let me tell you, I wish all margaritas were served this way. I tend to dislike the harsh salt on the rim, but this was the perfect match to the well-balanced lime and tequila within. I could have had about a dozen more, but propriety dictated that we switch to wine. For starters, we tried the seafood poutine and the half-dozen fresh oysters, and I would recommend both depending on your mood. The seafood poutine was served with a lovely, smoky cheese sauce, plus cheese curds, shrimp, crispy bacon and fresh scallions. Being new to poutine, I was skeptical on a seafood varietal but I'm glad I took a chance because these were just as delicious as they looked. The fresh oysters were briny and everything you want in an oyster, paired wonderfully with the apple mignonette for a fresh from the sea floor taste, but my favorite was the blueberry granita - such great depth of flavor, smoky but tart and still fruity. After having devoured each of the starters, we asked first about the dessert menu before deciding on a shared, light entree of grilled scallops over arugula and a cornbread puree. The scallops were just this side of perfectly cooked, anything less and they would have been too raw - an impressive feat. Nice brow grill marks, sitting above a bed of fresh arugula and underneath was the cornbread puree, which added a greta texture to the entree. We then opted for the passionfruit puree over lemon sponge cake, placed upon a shortbread for dessert. This was an explosion of flavors, complimented with chocolate on top, it was sweet, and tart, and lemony, and crisply vanilla - it all blended beautifully. In sum, a completely lovely meal. My only complaint was the wine list appeared to be picked clean, we had to run through multiple selections before we found an available bottle, and I was sad not to get to try something local to Washington. Stunning restaurant beautiful chandeliers , the most friendly staff there is. Oysters were so incredibly fresh. The ancho granita was Smokey with the tart apple was just so amazing. My daughter loved the briney fresh oysters. Duo ceviche we order with just tortilla chips by recommendation of the front desk concierge made fresh to order by the chef. Who was so friendly and explained the flavor profile of the oysters. And what everything was inside the ceviche. Entree was cooked beautifully steak with miso butter sauce and the smoked scallops. Halibut sauce was so yummy wish there was just more clams in it Dessert we sent back as had no kirch flavor, and the espresso martini was not good at all hence the 4 stars and not five. I come here at Elaia spa often so I noticed new restaurant on first floor. I told my husband we have to check it out but unfortunately it wasn't that great. We came on January 1st after holidays and place wasn't so busy. I ordered salted SeaGarita which was absolutely unique and delicious and thats it! The rest was very bland. Scallops tasted cheewy and felt like its been frozen and fake grill marks made it even worse. It wasn't grilled at all and it didn't tasted like grilled either. Cup of chowder was mediocre, I tasted better in Seattle. Oyster tacos were OK but again very bland. The worst was the dessert that was so hard that we coudn't cut it. Tasted very old and it was definitely frozen or refrigerated for too long because it felt like old fridge taste. Also pistachio crust had very weird taste even if it would be fresh I dont think flavors would be on point either. We showed waitress the cake how hard it was and she removed it from the check because we didnt want to eat it - so hard and tasted old. Very overpriced dinner we had. They were amazing, and we loved it. We now make a special trip every other anniversary to see if Alex is still at Tidal, or if he's been poached or opened up his own place. Listen, ofc my personality is not about to tell this wonderful waiter that the food taste like sh but would I go back or recommend to anyone- never. As a Hyatt guest I try to stick with the brand's offerings which are generally worth the premium price. In this case, it was a waste of money. I won't go back. She specified NO green peppers and of course when her dish arrived it was full of green peppers.... The salad was excellent indeed. Wildly unimpressive for the price. If this was a $40 surf-and-turf, you'd be pretty happy. But it's not. The cocktails were extremely slow... 30m or so... and decidedly meh. The food was erratic. For a place that describes itself as seafood; the seafood was hit or miss, mostly miss. Good: the poke with roe was pleasant, if a bit heavy on avocado. Of the oyster sampler 2/3 were excellent... but the third was possibly the worst raw oyster I've ever had, although to be fair, nobody got sick. The steak frites was not bad, although very pricy. Bad: that other oyster, for one. The tempura shrimp were nothing to speak of, the ceviche was not memorable. The seafood chowder was so heavy on bacon that's really the only flavor you got out of it. Conclusion. Downtown Seattle has a long history of mediocre surf and turf restaurants. Tidal+ is firmly in that tradition, and by far the most expensive. read more

Two of us ordered dirty vodka martinis and I don't know what was delivered but it was no martini (for $20). The bartender begrudgingly made new ones that were actually done correctly but the manager had the nerve to tell us that we were wrong and the original ones were done correctly and that maybe it was just too much olive juice when they tasted like it was just vermouth and no vodka. The shrimp cocktail was weird - shrimp cooked well but the cocktail sauce was more like watered down marinara. I also ordered the baby kale salad which was delicious. $70 later not impressed by any of it. One and done. read more

The big annoyance was the 18% automatic gratuity. We were 2 people. Gratuity is 'based on service'. If it's automatic then just raise your prices to pay your employees a fair wage. The result of an imposed gratuity of 18% is our waitress didn't get the normal 20-25% gratuity that we normally leave. We left it at 18%.
