Food is good and fresh. It's just the owner or whoever is running the counter is hovering on the rude side and doesn't show any compassion to any of his customers. I think to get great ratings on a rest. one has to experience great food, comfortable environment and a genuine friendly presence. This place is missing the key ingredient of gratitude. I was trying to find a good new teriyaki bowl place and hit the jackpot with Tikiyaki! Food is cooked quickly. Taste great. Clean seating (inside and outside seats available). The gentleman that always takes my order (guessing it's the owner) is such a nice guy. If you are thinking about trying this place, try it! You will not be disappointed. I tried Tikiyaki a few years ago and enjoyed it, but the owner told me to try the habenero sauce and it destroyed my mouth...among other things. So needless to say, I put this place on the back burner for a while (no pun intended). When I decided to give it another try recently, I was pleasantly surprised at just how much i loved my meal. I eat here about once a week, sometimes more sometimes less haha my friend introduced me to this gem a couple months ago. Always a heaping serving of chicken on top of delicious sticky rice. I usually have enough left over for a snack or another meal later, and at such an awesome price you can't beat it! I brought my mom home a chicken bowl and she is SUPER picky (won't eat flame broiler or Fuji grill, will occasionally eat Waba but picks pieces out)...she loved it! I love this place. It is my go-to for a quick and (relatively) healthy dinner when I'm feeling too lazy to cook. I usually get the teriyaki chicken and veggies bowl with brown rice, and it is consistently delicious. I've also tried the volcano chicken and the orange chicken, and they're both solid, but not quite as tasty as the teriyaki. A single bowl leaves me stuffed, which for under $10 is pretty amazing. If you want to add a little spicy kick, ask for the habanero teriyaki sauce. read more

This place is amazing! The owner Mark is really nice and ftiendly, he even remembered my brother and I on our second visit. At first I was skeptical since I have had places like Flame Broiler, Fuji Grill, and Yoshinoya. But no offense to the aforementioned places, Tiki Yaki blows all of them out of the water. The sauces here are amazing, the habanero teriyaki sauce is absolutely bomb. Portion sizes are huge but there is no compromise on quality at the same time. At this moment I think volcano chicken is my favorite but you cannot go wrong with anything you choose to order. What makes Tiki Yaki even better are the prices. This is my favorite place to get a rice bowl. Flame broiler, Waba, Yoshinoya you need to watch out. Tiki Yaki tastes much better and the portion size is quite large. My go to is the Volcano Chicken and you have to ask for their mango habanero sauce! Terrible. Flavor is ok and all but the chicken is thin and often burnt. The WORST part is this place took forever. It took 20 mins to get my food. There was only 2 people in front of me ordering one bowl each. I told the lady Togo and she took it to another table. Then it took another 5 mins to bag it to go. I've eaten here numerous times and their chicken and vegetable bowls can't be beat. Large portions, flavorful, real chicken, at a great price. Their orange chicken is pretty good, too. I decided to drop by Tikiyaki after a long day of studying to fulfill a teriyaki chicken craving. We ordered one teriyaki chicken special and one orange chicken special both with pineapple. The owner told us that they were out of white rice but he offered to substitute our orders with brown rice. The place was pretty packed at about 5pm on a saturday afternoon. We got our orders and dug in. My teriyaki chicken was decent but I definitely liked the orange chicken bowl more. Love the $5 bowl +drink special! Big awesome restaurant taste in a cozy space. My kids go crazy for the orange chicken. However, my husband loves the spicy menu. My oldest child is getting into spice so the volcano shrimp is his favorite. We live in the north oc & travel just to come here. The food is always great and the cabbage salad is the perfect compliment to the rice and food dishes. Great place..... My kids now call all Chinese food places TikiYaki, even their friends at school are starting to say it on Asian take out day at school. Super cute!!
