Lots of options on the menu but I love that they have really unique specials as well. This time, I went with my Thai food go-to: yellow curry. Next time, I'll def order more from their specials. Quick food/drink run down: Thai Ice Coffee - a good amount of sweetness that balances out the strong Thai coffee Samosas - so flaky on the outside and the filling had a nice subtle curry flavor House fried chicken - 5/5 y'all. I've came here twice and both times I've ordered the curry crab bomb. The service is good. The restaurant is pretty small but there is a cute outdoor seating. The curry crab bomb is delicious!! Finally tried Time Thai after having them bookmarked for quite some time! Got take out, ordered the usual tofu pad Thai and tofu pad see ewe. I was quite unimpressed by both dishes, both were very bland. My husband ordered the fried chicken which he really enjoyed. He said it was saucy and very different from any other Thai fried chicken that he's tried. So that's the only dish that I can recommend from here, I wouldn't come back since I have better options closer to me. read more

We were shopping nearby and got hungry. I yelped around and found this place. It is a very small restaurant that can probably accommodate around 20 people indoors and about 8 people in the front patio. When we arrived, all tables were taken and they told us it would be about a 15 mins wait, which was no big deal. I thought to myself that the food must be really good as I saw so many to-go orders. We were seated up front in the waiting area and were handed a menu. Once we finally got seated, we were ready to order. We ordered: Thai Chicken wings The Beck Tom kha seafood Duck curry Eggplant with chicken The duck curry and the Tom kha were delicious!! The Thai chicken was really good dipped with sweet chili sauce. The BECK was also really good and they sold us with their advertisement (the shirts they were wearing), which persuaded us into ordering it. I've eaten my fair share of things. We all have right? I've had meals from Michelin starred restaurants, hole in the walls, fast foods, greasy spoons, mom and pop shops, food trucks etc etc. These meals have ranged from amazing to nearly inedible, and half the time things like Michelin stars and Yelp ratings don't even really matter in terms of how good the food will actually taste. So, do not take it lightly when I say that Time Thai's BECK is in the top 5 of my "Sean's Best Things I've ever Eaten" list. It is so consistent in being an amazing dish. Every time I order it, I get that slight doubt in my mind that this might be that one time it doesn't live up to expectations, but I'm always met with that same familiar taste and it's just pure heaven. BECK stands for Basil, Egg, and ChicKen. Served on top of rice of course. When I picture the BECK in my mind, it's like there's a permanent halo of light around it. My mind goes blank whenever I take a bite of their fried chicken. All my worries just melt away and drift into the ether. If The BECK was a religion, I'd be their first convert. The basil garlic sauce that is drizzled on the chicken is so beyond this world. If they bottled it, I'd go broke buying it out. It's genuinely that good. I'd eat it for every meal if I could. Everything else here has been really great as well. All of their noodle dishes and curries are above average compared to other Thai restaurants. Service is always really nice and accommodating as well! Time Thai is our favorite Thai restaurant in the Bay Area for good reason. We find ourselves here almost monthly. Excellent and unique new addition to the Pleasanton dining scene. Friday night in our family is "let's order in and support local restaurants" night aka "I've been cooking all week and you're crazy if you think I'm also cooking tonight" night. Last night, the missus was craving Thai food, and the kids were craving fried chicken. Luckily for us, a quick glance at Yelp revealed that Time Thai - a new addition to the local dining scene - specializes in both! We parked in the back lot next to the railway line and walked in through the back door. They were a bit surprised but graciously took our order - B.E.C.K. (basil, egg and fried chicken), The Taco, Fried Chicken app, and a couple of Tried-and-True Thai faves: Penang Curry Chicken over jasmine rice, and Pad See Ew with chicken. The food took 25 mins - we wandered along the railway tracks and walked over to Amador Valley HS and back to pass the time. On the drive home, the food smelled intoxicating, and the family barely let me take photos for this review before plunging in. By the time I was done with my pics, the kids had polished off the fried chicken appetizer! The missus enjoyed the B.E.C.K. (though I had to help with the over-easy egg). The combination of textures blew her away - she was raving about the crisp basil leaves late into the evening. The Taco - house fried chicken wrapped in roti, sweet-sour sauce, cilantro, pickles and Cole slaw, was my favorite. I'm giving this place 5 stars on their chicken wings alone. Hands down the BEST fried chicken wings I've probably EVER had from a restaurant. You can literally taste the flavor throughout the chicken which shows that they were marinated and seasoned well... and then they are fried to perfection and so very deliciously crispy/crunchy. Service was good as well, we came in a little under and hour before they closed for lunch service (3pm) and they were very polite and allowed my friend and I to continue to take our time eating & chatting almost an hour after they closed. I asked for Thai Hot level of spice for my shrimp dish. Taste and texture of the veggies were good however the heat wasn't thoroughly consistent and the sauce was thin in consistency. The portion didn't disappoint and I immediately ate my leftovers for dinner. Nice small place, small storefront patio, and the service was great. COVID-19 take out review. Easy ordering through their website. Food was ready quickly, about 25 minutes on a weekday lunch. Pad Thai fried chicken $14.95 - chicken was super flavorful, deliciously greasy and salty dark meat, however, the noodles did not have the classic tangy Pad Thai flavor. It's not a complaint, since that would've been too overwhelming. The noodles are round vermicelli and lightly seasoned with a bit of crushed peanuts. They were stuck together and kinda overcooked (chewy, hard) on the bottom. Not sure if we would order this again. I think a fried chicken rice would be fantastic. Crab fried rice $16.95 - this dish was delicately flavored with chunks of crabmeat in it. It tasted very fresh and there wasn't any "fishy" taste. DH is used to more pungent flavored crab fried rice, so he thought it needed more fish sauce. It was really good, but not crave-worthy. String bean with pork $12.95 - this dish was okay. Fried beans with some small pieces of sliced pork. Kinda greasy, but that was expected! Panang curry with chicken and brown rice mild $12.95 - well, we ordered this one mild and I can confidently say it's NOT mild! Flavors were complex and delicious, however, my mouth is on fire. We selected brown rice, which was a nice, soft, light brown multigrain blend. Arnold Palmer $3.50 - DH tried this drink and thought it was just too fruity. "I didn't like the blend of fruit that much. It was refreshing, but next time I'm getting a Thai Iced Tea." Thai iced tea $3.50 - this drink was almost perfect and satisfies Thai iced tea cravings. I do wish they put less ice in it and a bit more cream. The flavor is spot-on. Overall, a pretty good spot with fresh, delicious food. Good portion sizes too. A new Thai restaurant - not certain when they opened up but it was during COVID. I ordered 3 items for family lunch: Fried Chicken Pad Thai: My favorite of all three dishes. Crispy friend chicken (dark meat, juicy on the inside) on top of generous pad Thai with some fried tofu, crispy wontons, and crushed peanuts. Noodles were flavorful with a hint of sourness and various textures that elevated dish. The Taco: Crispy fried chicken tenders with slaw like lettuce, pickles and cilantro, wrapped in Roti. Flavor was decent but the dish was very greasy. Maybe it's the roti being greasy but the excessive oil made the dish heavy. Eggplant (with choice of meat - we choose beef): Generous scoop of rice, simple green side salad, with stir fry garlic basil eggplant with beef. Most flavorful of all the dishes but the beef itself was tough. Flank and other cheaper slices of beef are often used in stir-fry but restaurants usually tenderize meat beforehand. These slices were tough, although they were generous with the amount of meat. I would have preferred all eggplant. Pickup service on time and efficient. What a nice surprise to find tucked away in Pleasanton. There are a large number of Thai places available in the Bay Area, and often times the only difference between most of them is subjective quality. Few places stand out on their own, but I believe Time Thai Kitchen manages to do just that. I came after reading all the rave reviews for their fried chicken, so I had to give it a try. Truth be told I wasn't blown away, but it was definitely good fried chicken. What stands out is their large number of specialty items and Thai dishes you don't always find at other locations. Such as their Khao Soi, Fried Chicken, or The B.E.C.K. There was definitely a level of quality in their cooking and wok skills that you can taste in the food. This is a must when you have Thai Noodles or veggies cooked in a wok, and really sets apart the difference between those who care about serving their customers as best as they can. Speaking of service, they were very good at handling our party of kids who needed kid friendly plates, cups, and utensils. Prices were around the same range as other Thai places. The only downside to this place is the small location. So the wait times can be long, but it is definitely worth it. Overall I would say this has now become one of my favorite Thai places to eat in the state. And I would definitely recommend anyone in the area to try it if you're in the mood for Thai. read more

Wow this is a total hidden gem indeed. Restaurant is off the beaten path of main St. There's parking behind the restaurant with back entrance, but there's no visible signage unless you've been here before. The restaurant is cozy so I suggest arriving when they open around 5pm, as it can get busy on Friday on. I got there at 6pm for a party of 2 and got seated within 15 min even though my friend hadn't arrived yet. They didn't rush me to order, but I pre ordered anyway since there was a long wait for tables. Service was quick and friendly. I could already tell the food was going to be excellent since they had nonstop pick up orders. Despite that, the entrees did not take long to arrive. We also ordered the Pad Kee Mao dish not pictured below, but all were must haves! Super flavorful. I couldn't spot eating any of the dishes. My favorite was the fried chicken. The chicken was tender and crispy with tons of spices and a nice kick to it. I like the fried egg on top and both dishes included rice! Can't beat that. Very affordable spot. All the dishes taste great and don't make you feel like you just drained your bank account for a nice meal. We got a bunch of dishes - Pineapple Fried Rice, Tom Kha soup, Pad See Ew, Roti, and two orders of their special Fried Chicken, and a few rounds of drinks. All came in less than $100. The Fried Chicken is the real bang for your buck. I would recommend getting this with a side of Curry and rice and you got yourself a filling dish for just a little over $10. read more

We ordered the Pad Thai, Kha Pow, Panang Curry, and Tom Yum soup. We asked for everything vegetarian and they were able to be very accommodating and offer recommendations over the phone! All of the food tasted amazing. Specifically the Tom Yum soup, Kha Pow, and the Panang Curry were all amazing- super flavorful, tangy, and awesome. The one thing is that the portion sizes are not super huge. The Tom Yum and the Pad Thai have fairly big portion sizes but the two other items had a smaller portion size. Generous portion and the fried chicken was moist and well seasoned. Also tried the roti / curry appetizer and mango sticky rice dessert, both delicious as well!
