When I arrived I sat at the bar since I went alone. The bar tender seemed to be very busy with drink tickets for tables as the bar was not that busy. She didn't even look up once to realize that I had sat at her bar (I sat there for 6 minutes, no water offered or anything), nor did she realize when I got up to ask the host to sit at a table instead. Once I sat at the table the hostess gave me water and about 2 minutes later the server came and asked me if I wanted to start with a drink, which I ordered the passion fruit Chilcano. I also went ahead and ordered my food, the crawfish tostones since it seemed it might take a while for that as well. My food got to me before my drink, and my drink was incorrect, they gave me a regular chilcano instead of passion fruit. The food was really good, and I honestly went there with the intent to order more food since I am moving from ATL and wanted to try some of their other dishes as it was recommended to me by a colleague. However, the service turned me off. Everyone was kind but it was subpar service. The manager did end up taking the drink off my bill which I was not expecting, so that was very nice of her, considering. I do recommend going to try their food. Amazing Peruvian food. The food was so flavorful and authentic. We ordered Chicha Mirada (purple corn drink) and it was so delicious! Pisco sours were frothy. Loved the food!! Everything was so fast and fresh. The sauce that came with Corazon de Res had some heat which was amazing with the cut of beef. Lomo Saltado was so tender. I couldn't get enough of the green sauce that came with Papas y Salsas-- might ask for a side of it next time. First time trying Causa and it was so good-- super fluffy. This is the worst Peruvian restaurant that I have been to. The 'Lomo Saltado' was tasteless. The meat was in chunks. The fries skinny and dried. The tomatoes tasted as if out of a can. Definitely blended into the residential building it sits in the bottom of, but this spot has some exciting bites. The ceviche had the perfect blend of acidity and the texture of all the seafood in it was pleasantly firm. It came with what I think were plantain chips which were an excellent crunchy addition. The causa with tuna was well seasoned with refreshing tuna inside with radish garnishes on top. Beautifully presented dish that is easy to split between two people. This is a great date spot for a couple looking to stop by for a light meal. I thought the fact that they had numerous real plants inside was a nice touch as well. Many water-suspended cuttings added some lively aesthetic to a building that does feel a little sterile compared to its neighbors on N Highland. I'll definitely be back. read more

The food was tasty but the portions were all tiny from starters to entrees. Each of the ceviche dishes were 5-7 small very thinly sliced pieces of fish. Soo disappointing Peruvian food is one of my favorites. Sat at the bar and asked for a Chaufa de Mariscos. Price was not important since I know the ingredients can be pricey. Here's the real description of a typical Chaufa in Mia, Ny.. Peru - Chaufa de mariscos is a Peruvian seafood dish that is typically made with shrimp, squid, and fish. The seafood is stir-fried with rice, vegetables, and a variety of spices. This dish is often served with a lemon wedge and aji amarillo What I got was- bunch of rice in a small plate with 4 small shrimps one big shrimp on a shell cut in half and 4 teeny tiny clams. Spent a lot of time trying to peel all of them getting my hands greased (glad I wasn't in a date ). The plate was $26 for a $14 as best. They shouldn't lie. They should call them tapas. They might get you the first time but for sure you won't comeback. read more

This food was delicious. I ordered the quinoa salad (without scallions or cheese). The dressing was flavorful, the ingredients tasted fresh and it had a great variety of textures. My date got the lomo saltado. He really enjoyed it -- It was well prepared, had good flavors and all of the dishes had nice presentation. The servers were informative, attentive, and good-spirited. We didn't love the playlist that included a range from Ariana Grande to Red Hot Chili Peppers and a more Cuban-sounding song. Most of the songs didn't seem to match the setting. A co-worker turned me on to this spot and I'm glad he did. Ceviche to die for, and crab hushpuppies were a decadent delight. I honestly don't know Peruvian sauces and flavoring but I can assure you this is a must visit spot in Highland. The French fries are excellent as well. Being Peruvian, I was excited to hear that one opened here in Atlanta. Usually I have to travel OTP to get some. This isn't your traditional restaurant though, they definitely play around with the traditional recipes that we all know and love and elevate them to a brand new level. We had the Pulpo, Tiradito, Causa and the big star being the Lomo Saltado! Then for desert we had a delicious Lucuma Ice Cream. The portions and prices are very fair and the drinks are delicious as well (recommend a Classic Pisco Sour). The food was amazing, and our server was attentive and great. But the night came crashing down when our waitress delivered the check unsolicited. We said we weren't ready and would like to order dessert and we were told that we'd passed the two hour seating limit and had to leave. This was a first for me. I've never been asked to leave. It colored the experience to an extent that I may never go back. I wish the front of house had handled this better. I've worked in the restaurant business and this is not how you handle a situation like this. Go for the food it's great but be careful not to go past their dining limit or you won't get dessert. read more
