I'd eaten here twice, and it was good. I went back today, ordered strawberry & Nutella crepes, waited almost 45 minutes and received cold crepes. When I brought this to the waitresses attention, she said they were supposed to be cold. I have never heard of cold crepes in my life, nor do I recall the menu saying they would be served cold. They were disgusting and the texture was horrible. I took one bite. So I paid 14.00 for 2 slices of bacon. My son-in-law waited 20 minutes for coffee, my other son-in-law had a cheese wrapper in his omelette but his meal was discounted. Our waters were never refilled. This is a great little brunch place. Friendly staff and a good ambiance overall. I had the poutine special, which was scrumptious. My lady had the huevos rancheros, which was delicious and not too heavy. The value is definitely there, as the price point is lower than many other brunch spots, but the quality is great. My husband happened across this place by accident when looking for breakfast/brunch one weekend morning. We were not dissapointed- my husband had the Chicken Fried Steak (which he orders anytime we go to a new breakfast place that has it on the menu) and he said it may be one of the best he has had to date (besides what we had in Texas). I had a typically breakfast that was tasty as well. The only thing that caught me up a bit is that their branding is extremely polished & I expected a very different vibe than an old 50's diner when walking in. So I would note that there is a different in branding vs experience. With that said, the staff was friendly and the food yummy, we would go again. The food was just as expected. The chicken fried steak came out prompt and hot and the eggs were prepared as requested. My patty melt was delicious. Sometimes they're pretty greasy but this one was not. I was impressed that the advertised Carmelized onions, were exactly that, carmelized. The Tipsy Chef Cafe is a gem in the Treasure Valley! The staff is super friendly and attentive! It wasn't too busy and the environment is inviting. Great music that is subtle in the background. Our food was AMAZING! I had the classic two eggs with bacon. It was a large plate of wonderful food. They had gluten free toast as an option which is always a blessing! We had dinner here last night. It was only the 2nd night they had been serving dinner, transitioning from just breakfast. We started with the pan con tomate and patatas bravas. Both were excellent. I really enjoyed the fingerling potato's- perfectly crisp and the garlic aioli was delish. We then shared the burger and Cambodia chicken. The flavor of the sauce for the chicken was super tasty and the burger was moist, with crispy bacon and perfect fluffy bun. I could have used more carmelized onions but in my opinion you can never have enough caremelized onions! Lol! My husband said the fries may have been the best he's ever had. Travis the owner served us and was a total delight. We look forward to returning to try breakfast too. read more

We were in town so popped in on a Sunday morning. First timers. What a treat! Friendly and attentive staff. Clean. Comfortable and classic atmosphere and decor. We sat at the small bar counter and were greeted by a young man. Turns out to be the owner, Travis. I had the Avocado Hash brown "Toast". I ordered it with the egg on top. Delicious and fresh ingredients. Attention to detail was definitely given. Washed it down with the mango mimosa special. My husband had the chicken & waffle. Waffle was fluffy and perfect. The chicken was plump, juicy and perfectly fried, just not a lot in the way of seasoning in the batter. A+ for my meal!! A heart-touching genuine moment was when an elderly gentleman came in and all the staff addressed him by name. He took a seat next to me at the counter and pulled out a newspaper crossword puzzle. Throughout the course of my meal a number of the staff came over and worked on it with him. Reminded me of the small-town comradery I grew up with. Well done Tipsy Chef Café!! read more

This was our second time here. We returned because our first experience was pleasant and the the food was good (breakfast). This time unfortunately, the food was not good whatsoever. The crepes we ordered tasted old and sour, they were served very cold.. super dry. Neither of my kids hardly touched their food because their eggs were burnt with no cheese in it despite the awkward/rude server telling us the cheese is 'inside' the scrambled eggs.. most of the avocado on my avocado toast was black and sour.. my husbands food had a hair in it (after he had waited for them to correct his order). Super unpleasant & disappointing experience. We will not be coming back. read more

I don't know what has happened every time we visit Meridian (a couple times a year) we come for breakfast! I ordered my grandson waffle sticks , bacon, and eggs...I had Chicken and waffles and my husband a burrito. The table that came after us was served their food first. Then when ours came the waffle sticks were hollow just the crust and cold to boot... as were his eggs and bacon, my Chicken strips were not butter milk dipped just your typical frozen fried strips...my waffle was also cold. My husband's burrito was full of potatoes and like warm. We asked for a discount on the child's food due to it being in edible and they gave us a dollar off! lol! Well I had just posted a review about their service and customer service and it was removed in less than 2 minutes. I ordered a Summer Salad that should have came with a Strawberry Vinaigrette dressing! I received a mustard based something. I called once I was back to work to see if I could come pick up the correct dressing. I was told I had the correct one and that it should be brown in color... I was also told they have no mustard dressings. Short story because I am sure it will be deleted again! I was told the substituted with a Balsamic Vinaigrette as they were out of the Strawberry..
