Dear Yelp, Been a fan of this place since I was man enough to man-up at a buffet. Had a bite of the steak sandwich many blue moons ago and I was in love, sandwich love. Not like a Subway, eat-fresh kinda love but Tito sandwich love. the steak was juicy and delicious and no added gibberish (veggies) just straight up bread, steak, i think i ate a tomatoe but the meat just stands out soooo much it didn't matter. I've had their "party-long sandwich" before (dont know what its actually called) that was greast also especially w/ the diced up jalapenos oooohhh yeah, every sandwich, make sure you get the jalapenos. The beef empenadas was really good too. get there early when it comes out, its the best with the little olive inside that gives it a little twist. I was totally craving empanadas and called my mother to see where she recently bought these yummy ones she shared with me. She told me Tito's in South El Monte. It was 9pm at night and i quickly looked for this place on-line because my crazing needed to be satisfied...unfortunately, they were closed. So the next day (today) i called Tito's to make sure they had empanadas, which they did, and went over to grab some. While on the phone, i inquired whether their chicken empanadas were made with white meat or mixed--the person on the phone didn't seem to understand my question, so she passed me to one of the cooks, who was very nice, but also didn't seem to understand. He told me that the chicken was very clean and white made of nice chicken leg meat--which of course answered my question--the chicken empanadas were made of DARK chicken meat. That is fine cuz i know many people prefer dark meat, but i do not so i opted to get the Beef Empanada instead. The Beef empanadas were very flavorful and delicious. I like the green pitted olive hidden inside--yum!! The pastry shell was nice and flavorful as well, and a yummy. I thoroughly enjoyed it! :-) The place isn't the most beautiful place or location but it's not horrid either. It's clean and passable. They had 2 order lines going and they were both about 7 people long, but the line went quick. They take all the major credit cards, which is handy. When i researched Tito's yesterday online i read that the empanadas were $1.39 -- That Is Not Correct...the actual price per empanada is $1.69...yeah a tad higher than i'd like to pay per empanada but they are meaty and i had a craving to satisfy. Tito's has changed. It is not as good as it used to be. It seems like the quality of the cold cuts in their sandwiches, which they are known for has been compromised a little. I wish I could say they taste as great as they did several years back, but I can't. No matter how many times I go in there each year thinking they will be different they aren't and I give them a try almost one or twice a year. At last I have stopped trying They taste like a Seven 11 mass produced wrapped sandwich. I loved you Tito's but the Romance is gone from the food. It has no heart anymore. read more

These aren't your Subway or Jersey Mike sandwiches. if you are looking for a tasty hot meaty sandwich, this is your place. Tito's offers a variety of hot sandwiches from milanesa, ribeye, to pierna de Puerco. Their ham and cheese and turkey isn't too shabby either. If you like your sandwiches with a kick, order them with jalapenos. The empanadas are just amazing. They come in beef or chicken, it seems the chicken sells out faster or maybe they just don't make enough of them, I don't know. You can count on every empanada having a tasty little olive in it. Just delicious. Let's not forget about the chicken wings. They are small, I wish they were bigger but the spicy ones pack a little punch. I'm honestly happy just ordering wings and not getting a sandwich, that is how good they taste. Finally, if you are looking for good sausage then go to the meat counter and make sure you order the argentina links. They used to have some delicious fresh ground chicken links but heard from someone they don't have them but it doesn't hurt to ask. Our families have been customers of Tito's for years and love the food and the service. Several weeks ago, I watched as the possible new owner (young man/relative) began rudely speaking to the employees and treating people as if he was a King. It made the atmosphere very uncomfortable. He is a very young man who clearly believes he is entitled to treat people as he pleases, with disrespect. I sincerely hope his adolescent attitude doesn't affect the business because we (and obviously everyone else) really love Tito's. read more

Okay I don't want to sound negative here but I've been a customer of Titos for many years and I am very disappointed with their new empanadas dough and the meat seasoning. The dough was not the usual crunchy greasy. It was bready hard and flavorless. The meat was missing texture. Therefore I'm giving you to Star. And I will continue to visit Empanadas 2 Go in Ontario off 60 Freeway. They offer baked and fried real Argentinian empanadas. And at this point they're the best. read more

Empanadas are fantastic! You must get the chopped Jalepeno salsa to go with it. Sometimes they give me a stomach ache, but they are always great when you eat them. There are some ugly old street walkers on Garvey too that are always fun to look at. read more

My favorite !! My dad has bringing me to this place since I was 10 and even tho the prices go up every year this place is still my favorite for sandwiches. I usually get the small Milanesa sandwich $4.29 and half pound of hot wings which are really good $3.29 They also have empanadas de Res which I see a lot of people order but just not for me. Anyway if your around the Temple City El monte San Gabriel Baldwin Park area you should definitely check this place out it's kind of hidden so play close attention, also ask for chili they have it hidden but will give you some. tito's market is also an agentinian deli and while their grocery section isn't all that spectacular (basic argentinian and mexican grocery products) their deli food is nothing short of tastetacular. especially their milanesa sandwiches and empandas. their milanesa sandwiches are meat subs. the meat is tender and breaded and the bread is made on location so it's always fresh and flaky. yes, flaky! it's good. their empanadas is the other item worth coming for alone. they have meat and chicken empanadas. the beef is fresher and less fatty than at other places (el gaucho, tropical to name a few) and the chicken is tenderized and seasoned to soft perfection. the crust on the empanadas is also flaky. yet another plus. in addition i've found the empanades stay fresher than empanadas from other places making them an excellent item to take home. these folks have been in business since the early 80's. a testament of their quality in service and food making process. it's a must try. read more

The food ain't pretty, but damn it's good. Really good. I tried coming to this place last week, but then I realized it closes on Monday. Lucky for me I was able to come back the following Sunday afternoon. I waited til 1:00 pm knowing I would get the full effect of the place, that being the busiest time of the day. Tito's Market is an amazing place in and for El Monte. It is a family orientated establishment that definitely gives to the community. I was the only chino in the market and, for sure, probably the only chino within a quarter mile radius. I felt I had made the biggest discovery in El Monte, but if you look at the reviews, I am 2000late. Listed below are the items that I ordered from Tito's Market, and also the order I consumed the items while driving back home. I couldn't wait. I fcked up my shirt and seat beat from all the beef falling out of the Empanada de Res. That grease stain is going to take some work. I should've grabbed a coke to wash down all the awesomeness I ate. Seasoned Fries. Pretty basic. Everybody loves fries. The great thing about their fries is that it goes so damn well with all their sandwiches. The fries are from a bag most likely, but Tito's makes them really good. Empanada de Res I wanted to try the beef and chicken empanada to compare, but they only had the beef today. They said they ran out, which is true. The place gets packed. I'll have to try this place again at an earlier time. Their de Res is amazing. I've been eating the wrong empanadas my whole life. I ripped off a corner hoping to get a taste test, next thing you know I end up inhaling the whole damn thing in 3 seconds. I ended up choking myself and swerving into the lane on my right. The dough is nice and chewy, slightly sweet actually. The beef filling is steak that is chopped up to the point of ground beef consistency, but it's not ground beef. The Empanadas de Res are packed with meat. Everybody should definitely order this. Milanesa with Chiles I was thinking the sandwich was going to be greasy and heavy as f*ck. I was wrong. It was opposite of what I thought. The beef is nicely fried, the sesame bread is hearty and chewy. The Chiles are amazing. I understand why they charge extra for the chiles. It's a really nice sandwich. Nepolitana The Nepolitana is the same as the Milanesa, except it also comes with ham, mozzarella, and a tomato meat sauce. It's really good, but a bit greasy. My experience at Tito's Market has been a revealing one. I really appreciate that the locals try their best to keep it within the community. I'm not saying it's just for the people in El Monte, everybody is welcomed. But you cannot deny the fact the locals are keeping this place running. They are doing an amazing job. Bravo to you. Tito's market is definitely a place you should check out, not just for the food, but to see how such a small place can create such a riot. read more
