Good lunch option. Tortillas remind me of my once favorite local taco place that closed down years ago. Had a quesalita w/ chicken, mushrooms, jalapenos and the recommended cheese. Hubby tried a few tacos and his favorite was the chorizo. 2nd fav was the fish taco. He doesn't usually like cabbage or salsa but liked everything Tocaya put together (score for the veggies!). Worth the wait since you can tell it's made fresh, but here's a tip to save time: order ahead, pick up and eat in the lovely sportsman's lodge outdoor plaza. 90 minutes free parking. Side note: we are barely starting to gingerly venture out 2.5 yrs since the pandemic began. Safety is still key for our family so I'll make notes about safety wherever we go. I love that there is a Tocaya in studio city!! I love that they have vegan options, basically anything on the menu can be made vegan !! ( they have vegan chicken and vegan cheese ) nacho cheese is vegan + all their dressings . I got the tocaya salad and it's so big! ( for 2 people ) Came on a Friday night and it was busy and my food came out in 10/15 min. I was helped out by Daniel who gave me a refill to go and packed my order to go. This location seems to be going downhill. Just had my second order in a row that had poorly prepared or poor-quality food. This time I ordered chips with my meal and they were completely stale, disgusting to have bitten into, especially after considering how old they probably were. I don't see how they could have gone this bad within a day so I assume they were leftovers from the previous day (maybe longer than that?). It's pretty nasty to serve old, stale food to your customers. Needless to say, my last two visits to this Studio City location of Tocaya have left a bad and unappetizing taste in my mouth. read more

I've been ordering infrequently from Tocaya Studio City for a little while now. The ambiance is tastefully done and very airy, the service is usually pretty good, but the food has been ok in my experiences. I usually get their burritos, and every time I do, the flavor is decent, but it's very, very dry. Especially the rice. Additionally, whenever I would pay $2.50 for the "guacamole", there would be 2-3 small slices of avocado put here and there in the burrito. It's discouraging for me to come back and try other options out of fear of those items ALSO being dry. read more

Because I've now had THREE burritos in a row with literally no meat in them, along with two salads with what could charitably be called the suggestion of meat. Not sure who's running this place, but if you're going to charge 16 dollars for a freaking burrito, maybe consider actually including the main event. I ate here last weekend and can't stop thinking about how much I loved my tacos! The Salmon taco with lime crema and the Birria taco with pickled red onion, both served on house made blue corn tortillas were just amazing..so flavorful. The first 3 times we ordered delivery from here, half of our orders were missing. HALF! I know it wasn't the deliverer's fault because they clearly packed it and taped it together without the rest of our food in it. The last and final time, I went in myself to make sure everything was in the order properly, but honestly, the food was terrible. I had to ask them to remake one of the tacos because there was basically nothing in it. The chips were so stale we had to throw them out! So Annoying! Stopped by for lunch with a GF and had a great time. Aesthetically speaking this restaurant is beautiful! I definitely would come back with my laptop and enjoy some margaritas. The vegan queso is probably the best vegan dip I've ever had and the fact that all the tortillas are made in house makes a difference! Parking is free for about an hour so that's a plus.
