Went for the first time yesterday. Bought a few items and coffee. The coffee was good 4/5. The bread crust was nice and hard but lacked a little salt in imo 4/5. They aid they didn't serve sandwiches in the morning, I was there at 10am 1/5. The parking 2/5. The service 5/5. The prices 3/5. Thus overall 3/5. It was pretty good but not good enough to make me go back right away. read more

Bread is amazing, I go out of my way to buy this bread! However the customer service is getting worse and worse. And I'm not the only one of my friends that have noticed this. My last encounter was just sad. There were no customers at the counter, a girl asked for my order and started slicing my bread. The guy rang me up not saying anything to me, then walked away leaving me to pay. He was so busy chatting to the girl that had sliced my bread that I had to finish my payment and actually lean over the register to grab my bread laying there. There was no acknowledgment, no thank you goodbye. I felt like I was at the self checkout in Ralph's. It's a mom and pop store so you'd think they'd try not to make loyal customers feel unwanted or invisible. read more

At the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, there was a huge swelling of people who became interested in baking - and using a sourdough starter in particular. I had ZERO interest in this newfound hobby because I had already been ordering from Tommy & Atticus for ages, and knew there would be no way that I could compete. I've always more or less enjoyed sourdough breads, but Tommy & Atticus has taken my appreciation (and desire to consume!) to a new level. Beyond the classic loaves, which are flavorful and have that perfect combination of fluffy soft inside and cracking crust (the Rosemary Garlic Country Loaf is my favorite), my world was turned upside down with the introduction of the Tommy & Atticus Cinnamon Rolls. These are so fresh that sometimes they're even still warm from the oven - they keep really well and are an amazing combination of that sweet and sour that only sourdough and delicious hand made frosting can concoct. You can't go wrong with a single thing on the menu - and between the freshness of the baked breads and the hand delivery from Garrett himself, you really can't beat both the deliciousness and the care that is taken to share his craft. And now I need to finish this review so I can go order some more bread....do yourself a favor and do the same!! read more

It's been said in other posts but I just had to throw my 2 cents in - this bread is seriously epic. I order 2-3 loaves a week. After getting used to eating Tommy and Atticus regularly, it's hard for me to even call the plastic-wrapped factory filth that you can buy at the grocery stores 'bread.' But seriously- this bread is made slowly by a passionate craftsman dedicated to making an amazing product, and it shows. It's healthier, easier to digest, and gives me long lasting energy. on weekends they do not serve bagel sandwiches after 10:30am, sandwiches are premade and too expensive, especially when you eat an egg salad sandwich and you bite into a wet slice of bread, customer service is basically non existing, for these kind of prices you would think that customer service would be encouraged!! not coming back for the sandwiches, I can make them better at home. read more

I am so excited Tommy & Atticus have opened up ! It's so nice to have a local small business bakery here in North Redondo ! I tried their butter croissant and it was heavenly, their brownies and giant chocolate chip cookies are also phenomenal. For bread I tried their seeded loaf and I will definitely be stopping by for weekly loaves of it ! Also a big plus for me is that they sell coffee and even have canned Fermensch Kombucha ! As Tommy and Atticus' current record holder for largest single order I think I can safely say that if you're looking for the BEST BREAD IN LA... you've found it! Garrett makes the best sourdough I've ever had (and don't even get me started on his croissants and cinnamon rolls)! The rosemary garlic loaf is beyond anything else out there and his baked goods are so ridiculous they should be illegal. From one small biz owner to another, he really is one of the hardest workers I know. He wakes up crazy early to be able to fulfill orders and is always willing to go the extra mile (literally) and delivers right to your doorstep! I've been meaning to write this review for some time. I am literally at Tommy & Atticus every Sunday & Wednesday morning to buy my country sour dough bread. There's nothing better than fresh baked bread. I can no longer buy bread at the market, it's just not an option. So besides their breads which are pure perfection; their pastries are pure delight. I have sampled all of them and not one has disappointed. My "go to" pastry is the almond croissant. The filling is generous and absolutely delicious. The croissant itself is flaky, not too crunchy, not too fluffy just the perfect por potion to it all. On several occasions I have had their sandwiches for lunch. They have a weekly veggie & a meat and the menu changes each week. Again, I haven't been disappointed. You will probably encounter a line in the morning but it moves pretty quickly & definitely worth the wait. The employees are top notch, very friendly, knowledgeable and they go out of their way to help you. read more

Having been born and raised in Berkeley, the bar for bread bakers is very high: it's hard to beat Acme Baking and Semifreddi. But living in the South Bay, I was advised that Tommy & Atticus was baking and decided to give it a try. I'm so happy to report that their breads are now my go-to. I particularly love the rosemary garlic and the cinnamon swirl. I took a pan of the cinnamon rolls to my family - still in Berkeley - and they said the rolls were the best they'd ever had. Was soo excited to try this place, since my brother had told me about it.. and we live super close. I wasn't overly impressed and here's why. The staff all seemed really sweet! Service was also fairly quick. We got a strawberry scone, bread loaf, two drinks, and an almond croissant. The pastries are very pricy, but they also are pretty big as well as from what I'm aware of made fresh. Our strawberry scone was my favorite, it was fresh and warm! The almond croissant in my opinion was very dry and a bit stale but the flavor was amazing. Everything was presented very well, all pastries were beautifully made. My drink was a matcha and I really was not impressed by it. It really just tasted like milk to me. If there were two things I could recommend is maybe getting different plastic cups for the cold drinks, mine melted very quickly and became watery. I will be back to give their coffee a try next. I would also maybe recommend a warmer for the pastries since they are so expensive offering to warm them may bring them back to life if they have been sitting. Ambiance for anyone interested: the place is very nice, I honestly didn't look around much I was to busy staring at the pastries and devouring them to notice. But everything seemed clean, they have seating inside, maybe a few tables outside at some point could be nice! Always happy to support a local place with local business owners and this is in a spot I drive by 2x a day, so I was pretty excited about it. I was really disappointed with my first visit. We got a plum tart and citrus bun, both were small and overcooked, just dry, crunchy and lacking flavor. And they are so so so overpriced. 7$ for the tart (4x4 inches and it wasn't exactly a tart, more like puff pastry with a spoonfull of cream and a couple plums) and I think 6$ for the bun. Regular croissants were 5. These are like french cafe on the beach prices for a strip mall bakery with tons of other places that sell baked goods in the area. Even if these 2 items were perfectly cooked, these prices would still be more than people are going to want to spend regularly. But the fact that they were bad is even worse. Latte was decent and well priced and service was friendly, although the women behind the counter could not explain the baked goods to customers. Someone asked what the caramelized croissant was and she said "uhh it's a caramelized croissant". I will try this place again in a few weeks, hoping they work out the kinks with baking and consider knocking a dollar or at least 50c off most of their baked goods if they want people to come in often. read more

There is a bakery in FIgueras Spain in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain with the finest pastries I have ever tasted. You have to exercise restrain when ordering and the experience of enjoying them lingers through out the day, so much so that you wish you could have pastries for dinner. I have never found anything that compares in the United States. That is until Tommy and Atticus opened in my neighborhood. The baked goods are pure decadence for the pallet. They all look and smell so good behind the counter that I feel one must experience the entire variety of their creations so as not to miss out on a surprise. This business is the result of utterly passionate and focused proprietors. I have never met them. I assume they are behind the counter somewhere. This is surely a demanding business that requires one to rise well before the crack of dawn. I admire their commitment and passion. The staff seems to be very happy to be doing their job, not the lazy bothered look that you find at the chains. I wish Tommy and Atticus well. I hope they thrive. Redondo Beach needs this place. I didn't know how much I needed bread in my life until I happened upon this stall at the Hermosa farmers market. It's now become a weekly tradition/addiction to reload on sourdough loaves for avo toast and sandwiches throughout the week, and sample whatever treats they might be slinging that week. The croissants are out of this world, especially the pumpkin in the fall, and the brownies...unreal. Lookout for special orders around the holidays as well. read more
