I went to Tom's around 11:30 on a Friday and ordered Tom's breakfast burrito, which has bacon, ham, and sausage, as well as onions, peppers, potatoes, eggs, and cheese. I ordered at the counter and the food was out quick once I sat down. The coffee was lukewarm when I got it, which I think was an unfortunate consequence of arriving close to noon. The burrito was hot but watery, to the point where the tortilla was soggy and falling apart due to the puddle of water that accumulated on the plate beneath the burrito. While I like the burrito, it was surprisingly average-tasting for the large amount of ingredients included. The service, as others have said, was absolutely fantastic. I felt very well taken care of, my coffee was continuously filled, and I even got a fresh cup to-go. Overall, I loved the service but the burrito was just okay. read more

My friend and I wanted to try this place since it just opened by our work so we gave it a shot. We walked in and were handed menus. When you have your order down you walk up to the cashier and order. Once you order and pay you are given a number. You take your number and take a seat while you wait for your food. The food is taken to your table and people walk around asking if you need anything or refill your drink. I ordered a chicken salad, fried zucchini and a ice tea. Chicken salad - the salad was a nice size portion. It came with bell peppers, onions, tomato, croutons, cheese, grilled chicken and I added pickle slices with ranch dressing on the side. The chicken was good and had a nice flavor. The salad was very filling. They also give you a side of pita bread for your salad. Fried zucchini also called zucchini fries - very nice and lightly breaded. The only thing was they were a little hard. They could have cooked them a little longer. They came with a side of ranch dressing. The zucchini was a nice size and as I mentioned before the batter they used was great. Just the right amount to coat the zucchini. We will be hitting this place for lunch again but I think next time I'm going to try one of the burger and fries combo. read more

I have never been to a Tom's restaurant before. I noticed this one as I was driving by and decided to stop in later in the evening. Tom's is located just south of the 210 and just east of N Lake Avenue. At first, I thought it was a diner; however, it can best be described as a quick service restaurant. In fact, it does have a drive through; however, plenty of indoor seating. If you eat inside, you order at the counter and then they will bring the food to your table. If you are familiar with other restaurants in the area, it is kind of like Lucky Boy's (the one on Walnut) or Top's (also on Walnut). Anyway, the service was extremely friendly. The prices were very reasonable. We had the Patty Melt with fries and a drink, along with a pastrami burger with the combo. The total was only $17.00. It was a great value. Everything we had was very tasty, very yummy and can best be described as high quality diner food. It is just what we wanted and what we were expecting. The "runners" that were on the floor that night, kept coming around checking on us, getting us soda refills, any condiments we wanted, etc. We were overall very pleased and cannot wait to return again! read more

However, I have to say that this is an excellent breakfast burrito which I have enjoyed repeatedly for the past couple of weeks whenever I order one from the drive-through window. I know some other places in the Pasadena area tend to get more attention for their breakfast burrito options, but I like the ones that I get at Tom's. They are fresh, tasty, and not overloaded with hash brown potatoes like some others I have tried. I have mixed feelings here! I want to love it... But First off the service is great! I'm sure they're overdoing the service since it's a grand opening but of course I hope the great service continues. I got the pastrami based off another yelper saying it's better than the hat. Unfortunately for me, it can't touch The Hat. Overall it was very dry and the pastrami flavor wasn't anything I was expecting. Very bland. Need to juice it more! The fries were on the cold/hard side. My mom got the cheeseburger which she thinks has way to much bread. The buns are huge and the party was very thin. We think it should be the other way around. Maybe I will try something else in the future but for now, I'll stick to the hat and tops for this type of food. Update: I tried the breakfast today. The place was pretty empty for 930 in the morning (vs tops) I hope they will do ok here. I phone ordered a chorizo add bacon breakfast burrito. It was very good! Only downside is the bacon was chewy, I like my bacon crispy which I should have specified so my bad. But the chorizo is perfect for me! Been anxiously waiting to try Toms since I saw it open a few weeks ago (it looks like Mondo Burger from the movie "Good Burger") and I can comfortably say this place proved the saying "expectations lead to disappointments" to be false. I built my own omelette and my friend had the chicken and waffle. The omelette (3 eggs, jalapeños, bell peppers, spinach, onions, tomatoes and steam) was absolutely delicious and I had to make an effort to finish it, the hash browns which accompanied the omelette were addicting. My friend couldn't put his fork down and had the audacity to even claim that the chicken and waffles were better than Roscoes; I did not try it but can vouch in saying they looked great. Okay this place popped up. I had to stop by and try it. I ordered a toms burrito and a peanut butter milkshake. The milkshake was barely half full and extremely milky. Felt like more whipped cream and milk than ice cream. Not a good start. I'm still waiting on the burrito and it's been more than 15 minutes since I've ordered. We'll see where this review goes. The burrito Is good maybe even beats lucky boy in taste but with better ingredients. **Edit** I told the waitress about the first milkshake. So I started going to this business just on a whim it was local and I went through the drive-through I was going to get your ordinary you know burger and fries or something like that and then I saw that they had biscuits and gravy and I'm a huge fan of biscuits and gravy!! They have hot fresh coffee right at the counter. I love that because I was really needing coffee! The service was exceptionally fast compared to the drive through & the Decour was really nice it was all decorated like October with pumpkins and fall leaves ....the seats were very comfortable and roomy and the service wow what can I say ? I mean what kind of fast food restaurant sends people to come check on you every five minutes or less??? Saw they finally had the grand opening this weekend. The vibe is actually cool. You get restaurant style service rather than just another fast food call cattle joint. So you're greeted with servers as well as going up to the counter. The food selection is great and they serve BREAKFAST ALL DAY!!!! (At least that's what I was told). Overall, everything was nice. Kinda wish the owners or managers mingled with the customers instead of sitting in a booth in the corner. Other than that, looking forward to this place being a staple in Pasadena. I like it. Extremely disappointed. Went for the hot wings, which was decent, nothing to rave about except the price. But they no longer serve hot wings, so I got 2 orders of chicken and waffles and... WTF?!?! The service at Tom's is one of the things there that makes us want to come back a lot though. This review is coming a bit late but with as much appreciation of this restaurant. Our SRLA running team meets here in the mornings every so often, does a 12 mile loop run to finish at Tom's followed by their delicious breakfast. Their service and quality is by far the best I've experienced in a while. The staff, management, and owners all look happy and make this establishment such a happy place to be in...and let me not forget to mention how delicious the food is. A variety for all.
