FOOD: Kevin had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with fries. I had cheese enchiladas Suiza with rice and beans. We had cucumber mint Aquas Frescas to drink. Kevin really enjoyed his sandwich. The bread was delicious and not too thick. The inside was yummy with yellow bell peppers. I enjoyed my enchiladas and the beans and rice. The drinks were well proportioned and refreshing. SERVICE: I ordered takeout and the woman at the counter was very nice. I forgot to get her name. AMBIENCE: the restaurant is clean with lots of well spaced seating. I went between 230 and 3 PM on a Friday so parking was easy.

My favorite go to spot in Bixby Knoll. Right on the Atlantic strip. Always solid!! SERVICE*** I've been coming here for 2-3 years now. Such nice people work here, nice neighborhood feel They have booths, tables and a cool bar top looking out the front window FOOD*** My wife got the Cali Burrito, always delicious, I think she got this 3 times in a row now! I got the Blacken Chicken Sandwich, I love this sandwich, the bread they use pairs amazingly with the blackened chicken and avocado! PARKING*** Parking on the street right in front or in the back. They have great breakfast too! I'll post that next time

Was expecting this place to be delicious for the good reviews on google and tiktok, but food was tasteless! We ordered two orders of chilaquiles and added steak for $10 ea. The steak was very small and dry, seems like they used one steak and divided it for the two plates. Pancakes were dry as well and "rubbery" Definitely not worth the price for the quality.

I can't say it was necessarily bad but it wasnt that good either. I want to chalk it up to me coming right before they close. I ate a Philly cheese steak sandwich and fries. It mostly tasted like a bell pepper sandwich. Skimpy on the meat, skimpy on the cheese. Fries were seasoned bland if that's possible. Didn't like the drink but that could be just a me thing. Try at your own risk. It's very beautiful inside. It was a little dark in there and some of the lights were actually off when I entered. The fried zucchini were fresh, succulent and crunchy. My favorite thing there. The service was great despite the food not being so. I would come back but at a different time of day, try something different and someone else paying.

Honestly, walking by this place you would not be sure what to expect. Mexican food and lasagna tapered on the front window!? Surely making everything can't be good right? Boy was I wrong, and I can see why this is a bit of a hidden gem in the area. It's not your typical trendy American diner, but they have great food and fits all kinds of things you might be feeling. I like that they serve breakfast all through the lunch hour, so you can have your french toast even in the early afternoon. I got the chicken caesar wrap which was pretty solid; the chicken was really flavorful and there was a lot of it. It's one of those caesar wraps that is a little lighter on the dressing, so you might need to ask for more if you prefer more. But, the surprising standout was the fried zucchini you get on the side. It is absolutely fantastic. It's served with ranch but tastes great on its own. Comes out hot and fresh, basically like zucchini fries. Would highly recommended selecting as your side. One of us also got the loaded nachos which honestly is enough for like 3 people to share. This was also pretty yummy, with the chips clearly being fried fresh. Service was great--very friendly, food came out pretty fast. There was no wait for a weekday lunch. The inside is pretty cute and you wouldn't really be able to tell from the outside, with a nice mural on the wall. It almost gives a "fine dining meets casual" type of vibe. Unfortunately certain dinner items were not available for the breakfast/lunch hours (e.g. the pasta which many people seem to like), so keep that in mind! Overall I'll definitely be back to try out some of the breakfast items as well as their additional dinner options!

The place is clean, and you can sit wherever you want. The waitress was very pleasant, and I loved that the orange juice was freshly squeezed! Their menu has a lot of variety--I wanted to try the French toast but opted for the chilaquiles instead. They were alright--too much sauce, and the sauce was a bit bitter (a little heavy on the tomatillo). The eggs were perfect, though, and the plate came out hot, which I appreciated. The music was nice too, creating a cozy vibe. Overall, it tasted like a home-cooked meal, and the prices are reasonable. I'd go back and maybe try something else on the menu next time.

This is the second time we have lunch here. And we're definitely returning. The food is delicious. The portions are big, so come hungry. The chilaquiles had an authentic Mexican taste. The service was top noch. The 2 servers were very nice and attentive. The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable. It looks a little outdated. There were only 2 parties having lunch. I don't think many know of this yummy eatery.

We came at around 3 on a Saturday afternoon. Not too busy, so we got seated and served drinks right away. Interior is pretty with papel picado hanging from the ceiling. They ran out of Ravioli so we got Chicken Parmigiana instead. We got Al Pastor Quesadilla, Chicken Parmigiana (comes with garlic bread), Lasagna (comes with garlic bread), and Mac and Cheese. Al Pastor Quesadilla: Good, served with Guacamole, Sour Cream, and Pico de Gallo on the side. Chicken Parmigiana with Alfredo Sauce: okay, generous amount of chicken and it was super tender. We still prefer the Ravioli over this. Lasagna: always yummy. This is the second time I've ordered it and still could not finish it in one sitting. Mac and Cheese: would definitely get again. Tastes so good when it came right out. Garlic Cheese Bread: softer than the usual Garlic bread (maybe because of the cheese?). Still delicious but I prefer the crunch of the Garlic bread

We noticed this restaurant on yelp and were curious since it was close by! We decided to try it and were impressed with how good the food turned out for breakfast. My husband was very impressed with the French toast because the bread used had infused cinnamon so it gave it a different flavor than traditional French toast. It felt like I went to Mexico for a second. I ordered the green chilaquiles and I was happy with my selection! I prefer savory breakfast than a sweet breakfast like pancakes etc. It looked like the restaurant was family operated but I didn't get to ask. They came around to check on us often, and asked if I wanted more coffee. I had added carne asada (steak) to it since it was an option. I should have done without it because I didn't like how it was marinated. The restaurant had cute wall murals that reminded me of pueblitos in Mexico. It is a little small place but overall it was nice to sit inside.

Came here for Fourth Friday and it was stupendous! Got a seat right away event though Fourth street was crowded. Fast, efficient service and my shrimp burrito was delicious. Very reasonably priced. We will definitely return again.

Tony's has been an important part of the Bixby Knolls neighborhood since it opened. Family run, the chef brings great skill and care to all of their offerings. The menu is not huge, but there are a nice variety of items: Italian dishes, burgers, Mexican dishes, desserts, and a collection of rotating specials. I know it's probably boring, but I really love their soft tacos. I usually get one chicken, one asada, and one al pastor. I must confess that, in general, if there's al pastor on the menu, that's what I'll get, but their chicken is insanely delicious. I am not sure what they do, but the chunks are moist and beautifully seasoned. Their al pastor is deeply flavorful. Their asada is tender and beefy. The portions are generous, and I struggle with finishing all three. (Don't worry. I do.) I also love their salsa verde, which is tangy and fresh, with just a little heat. Now, if I'm feeling ambitious, I'll order churros for dessert. They're about 6" long, and 6 to an order, served with a thick chocolate dipping sauce. (You can order them with ice cream, too, for an additional charge.) I did not finish all six, and took the rest to go. The service is friendly and, if you go there more than once, they'll probably remember you. The ambience is lovely, both casual and welcoming, with bright colors and other festive touches. Street parking is generally available, but arrive early so you can find a spot.

No matter when and no matter what time no matter what item I enjoy from here!!! Everything is full of flavor. Great environment best service, beautiful location. I love Tony's.

I love the vegetarian lasagna at Tony's kitchen. It's so delicious. They made a special batch on request. Highly recommend the specials this weekend.

This has become my husband's and my favorite restaurant since it first opened. We can't believe it's not packed with diners all the time. Tony's cooking is amazing! He has such an attention to detail and you can taste it in every bite. The portions are generous, we always have something to take home. And the prices are very reasonable. Was searching for some Italian food for lunch break specifically some good chicken Alfredo from the reviews it seemed enticing so I called to place a to go order the lady answered and said yes give me one moment then silence for a few minutes until i got tired of waiting called again and they disconnected the phone to not receive any calls and I called a couple times later to check up so I decided to go anyway and wait if I had to I came in asked if I can do a to go order then the lady proceeded to say one second and took a few minutes to finally ask me what i wanted I didn't see any pasta on the menu and So i asked about the pasta and she said thats only till after two, I was so disappointed but she said she would ask the cooks and then she came back and said no they cant do it so I did not get anything after all and I couldn't find anywhere where it states serving pasta till after 2 the place looked very promising but a big disappointment such an inconvenient experience I had read more

I had read on instagram that Tony's Kitchen was open on Thanksgiving day and children were able to dine for free. I was so impressed with their generosity to the community that I made a point to visit today for my first time. Total success in every way. Greeted and served by Lizette - and she was excellent! Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. The food was delicious! We had Calamari, Chicken Parm, Spaghetti w/meat sauce and outstanding Tiramisu for dessert. I will definitely be returning! read more

Tried this local spot for the first time, and it did not disappoint! Breakfast wwlas really good. We tried the Steak & Eggs and the Chilaquiles with Red Sauce. Both were very flavorful and great portions. The coffee was delish! We'll def be back. If you want a nice spot for brunch or lunch, support local and grab a bite at Tony's! STEPH JUDGEMENT: Good, reasonably-priced food in a down-home atmosphere. Met up with a friend for brunch on Sunday and there was no wait. I seemed to recall this place being more mobbed in the past but maybe that was during First Fridays. Anyhoo, was not going to complain about not having to wait! The ambiance was very homey and so was the food. I got their avocado toast with two eggs over easy with a regular coffee, and my friend had the French toast with breakfast potatoes and bacon strips. Nothing fancy, but tasty. My toast had a generous dollop of avocado and fat cherry tomatoes drizzled with olive oil and dusted with everything seasoning, and the eggs were cooked well. The whole thing came out to about $30 with tax and tip, which these days seems like a bargain. Nice service as well. Would definitely try them again. read more

Being from out of town, my wife and I decided to get some tacos near our Air BnB and we just had to try this place since they had 5 stars. Unbelievable! 5 full stars so it must be good. Let me start off by saying the location is great. It's in the heart of Bixby Knolls and not too far from downtown Long Beach and a freeway exit. There is street parking available if you are able to find a spot. This restaurant has great character. Right when you walk in you are greeted with high ceilings, a fountain, and plants. The service is great, our server came by multiple times to see if we were still doing good. She refilled our water almost instantly.I don't think we could've had better customer service. The food came out relatively fast. I was rather surprised with just how good the chips and salsa were. The chips were fresh and warm right out the oven; so delectable that I'm still thinking about them as I write this. I wish I could've savored that salsa just a little bit more. The tacos were delicious, the al pastor were probably my select choice over the asada. In my opinion, the real star of the show is their chips and salsa. The serving sizes are a steal for the prices. They really pack the most meat they can in each tortilla. You will most likely be full after eating four tacos. The best part is probably their prices. The tacos are around $3 each which is excellent. It is in direct competition with food truck prices except here at Tony's, it's a full service restaurant. Bottom line/TLDR: must come for affordable tacos in the area. read more

A solid place with great food located in the bixby knolls area of long beach. I love the area as they are building up all kinds of cool places! I came in friday evening to see what this place was about. I saw a guy with a taco plate and it looked good so that's what i ordered also and yes it was very good and comes with rice and beans and choice of salsa. Also took home a chef salad which was good and had tons of flavor. People who work here said the pastas are the gem items here so next time. The breakfast menu looks great and i love breakfast so that might be the next items i try here! The prices are very good for four asada tacos and a chef salad for $28 bucks. They have a nice size menu. For parking i would park across the street in the parking center or the street and just walk over. No outside dining, everything is inside. read more

We wanted brunch on a Sunday and it was nice they still served breakfast as we arrived right before 1pm. The restaurant was completely empty at the time and it could be maybe we came after the breakfast rush. I ordered the pancake breakfast with sausage and soft, scrambled eggs and it was perfect. Everything was hot and delicious and I was so hungry I forgot take a picture of my food,lol. The sausage was so tasty and pancakes you could tell it was from scratch. My boyfriend ordered the French toast combo with an extra side of bacon and he was also very happy with his meal. This is one of the better breakfast places that I have tried in the area I would definitely come again and try other items on their menu. read more

Had lunch with a friend at this cozy family-owned restaurant. It's small but cute--perfect for a casual lunch, but maybe not ideal for a dinner date. Neri, our server, was lovely. I ordered a Philly steak sandwich sans green bell peppers and churros for dessert. My friend tried the blackened mahi sandwich wrap and found it decent. The churros were a delight, hot and fresh with a tasty strawberry or raspberry filling. Unfortunately, my Philly steak sandwich didn't impress. The bell peppers were left in, affecting the overall flavor. It looked squished and lacked the appeal of a classic Philly sandwich. Despite enjoying the churros and our server, the overall dining experience was mediocre. I might consider giving it another chance in the future, but not anytime soon. read more

I would definitely recommend this place! Ive been here many times for the soy chorizo breakfast burrito, and the chilaquiles I had to were bomb too. Get the habanero salsa! I will say the beans and rice could use improvement in my opinion. read more

This place is awesome!! They have great calamari. I had that chicken parm. This was fresh, homemade; NO heavy breading here. It was lightly breaded and flavorful. I chose Alfredo sauce for my sauce, and it was AWESOME! My lunch date had spaghetti, and it was great as well. The tiramisu was also good. The lady fingers were not soggy, and the cream in the tiramisu was also good. read more

Delicious food and great service. After ordering to go for about a month, I finally came to the restaurant to sit and eat. Their food is delicious and there service is excellent. Their restrooms are really clean too. I'm sorry but this is kind of important to me. I think it's bad to go to a restaurant that has nasty bathrooms. You figure the staff use those restrooms too. I've had their breakfast burrito, their California burrito, the ground beef hard shell taco and the shredded chicken hard shell taco. Everything I've tried has been delicious. My husband had their carne asada tacos and he said they're really good. He's picky too. He'll say something if the meat is poor quality. Love this great little restaurant, usually get a vege wrap but today my wife and I split a delicious portabella mushroom sandwich with Tomato , lettuce , and some amazing spread with cheese. And the coleslaw was so good. . Awesome lunch. We are coming back for May 5 celebration for Cinco de Mayo , open 10am -6pm. Really looking forward to it. Best kept secret in Long Beach. read more

I have been here a few times already, and all the food I've had is consistently good. I personally like their Mexican and Italian options more than their American ones. Their food has a bit of a homemade quality to it that I like, and the portions are good for the price. It's a nice mom and pop place that's pretty casual. The "atmosphere" or whatever is definitely not trendy, but I don't really care about that. The servers are also some of the sweetest, too. read more

You know what they say about jacks of all trades. Tony's Kitchen is upfront about their menu design: they have "A Little of Everything" painted on the wall. Sure enough, they have a mix of Mexican, Italian, burgers and sandwiches, and more. The dining area is spacious, but the ambience is tacky -- they have stereotypical Italian music (Tarantella Napoletana) playing in the background. Ordered an asada taco, a ground beef hard-shell taco, and the linguine del mare. All were mediocre and plain. The asada taco especially, served with neither salsa nor a wedge of lime on the side, and just a pinch of chopped onion on top. The linguine was mushy, and so was the slice of bread that came with it. Frustratingly, the dishes served to me looked quite worse than those pictured here on Yelp -- you can compare them to my pictures. Either the quality at Tony's Kitchen dropped very far very quickly, or they had a substitute cook that day. I visited during peak lunch hour but it was empty, and no one was picking up orders to-go, either -- that should've been a warning, I guess. The ambiance is like dark woods, cozy, and warm. Reinne would be proud of this interior work. The drinks are so so good it's addicting. The strawberry shortcake matcha is so creamy and perfectly sweet !! This is a hidden gem, a 10/10. Must visit!

From the moment we walked in, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The food was a 10/10. We ordered the skillet (highly recommend!), pancakes, an açaí bowl, mushroom coffee, and a matcha. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. We did have a small issue during our visit, but the owner, Jesse, handled it with so much kindness and professionalism. It's rare to find such genuine customer service these days, and they truly went above and beyond. Overall, we loved our experience and will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Stopped by for the first time on Saturday. They have a pretty good selection of foods. Today, I choose the Blackened chicken - Green cabbage, guacamole and garlic aioli Panni. What a great sandwich and the season fries are also great. I am hoping to go back and try something new. read more
