I love this TooJay's. I like going here before or after a movie at Cinemark Boynton Beach. My favorites are the chopped salad, matzo ball soup, and for dessert you must have the Banana Dream! It's absolutely the best! The sandwiches, especially with rye bread are good. Every now and then I'll buy some rugelach to take home: chocolate & raspberry are really good. Toojay's was a total disappointment. I ordered a nova and whitefish platter and asked the waitress if it was whitefish salad or whitefish. I was told it was whitefish salad. However, when I finally got my meal, there was a chunk of very boney whitefish and no nova. About 20 minutes later I got the nova and bagel. Let's not forget that my friends with whom I was dining, received cold omelets and never got their rye toast. My husband's knish also arrived 20 min after his sandwich. I spoke to the manager and he acted like he couldn't have cared less. He said next time will be better. We'll, obviously there won't be a next time. Toojay's is officially off my list. read more

I decided to go to Too Jay's for some Belgium waffles. When I walked in, there was a line of people waiting to be seated. I waited for a while and no one came to greet us, the waiting customers. No one even acknowledged us or came to let us know how long the wait was going to be. Very slowly, one party at a time, the hostess came and took them to their tables. After 15 minutes - and I'm not exaggerating because I left my apartment at 1025 and this place is not even 5 minutes away - at 1045, the hostess finally came to seat me. Come to find out, as I'm being walked to my seat, there were at least 7 tables available. And there was no apology for the wait or acknowledgement of my time wasted. It had been over 10 minutes since I ordered and no one came to check on me or let me know if it would be much longer. When they finally brought my waffle, it arrived on some disgusting yellow-stained dirty a** plate. The last time I ordered from here, it was a to-go order. When I phoned in, I had asked a question and the woman put me on hold. 15 minutes later, she answered the phone as if it had been ringing (because she left me of the phone for so long and she didn't know who was on the other end). She did forget that she put me on hold! When I arrived to pick up my food, she apologized and asked me I wanted a free pastry. Then a man came to her and reprimanded her for offering me something to compensate for her incompetence. How rude. read more

I don't understand why this location has any bad ratings, I haven't had a lunch like this in the longest time. I came in and was sat down by the lady at the front, the manager came up and asked if I had been helped and then the server came all within a minute. That's called being on top of your customers which most restaurants can't seem to get a hang of. The management here was top tier and it made my experience that much better. When I came in I stated I only have a 30 minute lunch break, please make this as quick as possible. It was out so quick and made so perfectly I was astonished. Great place for Breakfast. I had egg whites veggie omelette (avocado, tomatoes, peppers). Wow. Came with a fruit cup. Wife had a bagels and lox with extra capers. All she could do the entire time was rave about the freshness and taste. I had water to drink she had coffee. Service was perfect and attentive but not overbearing. All for under $30. I gave this place another chance, and I shouldn't have. It is going downhill fast. The nova plate was more like lox ends. There was no sign that the fish was sliced. The tomato was rotten. The fruit salad was defrosted, rotten fruit. My husband's egg salad came with carrot sticks so dry that they were almost no longer orange color. Then I went to order the carrot cake AGAIN. Last time, I just figured, they sliced it incorrectly. The top was wide and the bottom was narrow. So I told the waitress about that. And I ordered it again. And once more, it came to me that way. It looks as if they are trying to pull tricks. I will be more cautious where I spend my dining money. They have lost my trust. read more

Today dined here and had a well prepared meal. My server was Elaine who was just a delight and very attentive to our order we placed with her. We also were introduced to Arty there new great GM. He was very informative about their menu items and all the great bakery goods they sell in house inside the restaurant. We will be back to enjoy all there fine fresh foods soon enough. read more

I have been ordering large orders over the last 6 months. Today we were in the car for 7 12 hours and decided to place an order for pick up. We had 2 amazing deli parties for 10 and everyone raved about the food. Well today was a fiasco. We ordered for delivery first and it didn't go the through. We called and gave Alan out order the phone. 23 ordered 1 pound of cold lean sliced thin corned beef, 2 Diet Pepsi's. The Pepies that were debt were not diet. The bread was delicious as was the cold slaw. The pound of corned beef was awful. We even tried giving some to our dog, and I think he sensed something wasn't right. The corned beef, completely dried out with splotches of brown beef mixed in, on the same strip, and I don't know anything about corned beef beyond the eating it. It must have beef in the refrigerator too long, at your end a bit too long. I ate a few bites, it tasted slightly off. I ordered a whole carrot cake they didn't have a full one, so I took piece of Red Vekvet, which was very good. I specifically asked for 2 diet sodas, which I got regular instead. I know help is hard to get, but they can be training to do the right thing, and and at least send the right soda. Tomorrow we are having out of toys guests who want to stop and have lunch there, I am a bit leery about the quality of the food. This lovely cation several times and have enjoyed it each time. Today went and didn't have a great experience. I ordered to take home pastrami hot dog. I had thought that it was a pastrami hot dog I e pastrami in cased as a hot dog (which I thought would be interesting). It was a regular hot dog with slices of pastrami. It was ok but not great. I always had a great experience at every tooJays I've been too but the lady at the front desk is by far the most incompetent person I've ever had to help me. I asked for a cup full of white fish salad and guess what she gave me the actual fish with skin and bones and all, not what I asked for at all. I really had a wonderful experience with Toojays of Boynton Beach Florida. I wanted to have my Dad's 100th birthday catered. I live in NC but my dad lives in Florida. Toojays was recommended to me by a mutual acquaintance. I called Toojays and spoke with Sandy. She took care of everything from catering dinner to dessert. I went my wife yesterday yesterday for dinner to TooJays. The restaurant itself is clean and roomy. We ere seated quikly and ordered two dinners a chopped steak and a shepards pie. The salad and the matzo ball soup that came with them were very ordinary.The main dishes themselves were ok but my shepards pie was average.Service was slow and we felt abandoned at times.The price to value ratio as well as portion size was around average for the type of restaurant. All in all this was an OK experience but nothiong special but I will return again to see if conditions have changed. read more

It's conveniently close to my office but every time I order something to go or go through delivery dudes (which is not cheap) something is always missing. For instance, getting the beef brisket dip with no au jus, salad with no dressing and today the potato pancakes with no sour cream or applesauce. Definitely disappointed. The only way it'll end up right is if you go there and check before you leave that nothing is forgotten, which is hard when you only have a 30 minute break. Awful! Arrived at 1:30 two adults and two children. Ordered kids meal, hot dog and baked macaroni, not bad. Fries were cold and had to reorder. Ordered chicken noodle soup, told all out, got matzah ball soup, good, Other soup of y The day veg beef pretty good. Odd message from Toojay's CS in response to my post. indeed.they apologized for missing condiments, when I wrote that half my combo sandwich's COMPONENTS were missing. The sandwich promised six ingredients other than bread. Only three arrived. They did send condiments in the form of one mustard and one mayo packet, but not three of six sandwich components regardless of condiment packets. I will say no more other than to correct a misimpression. The food is not overpriced if it includes the product as described. Happily, Uber eats refunded when apprised of problem. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by my visit to Too Jays. I was there with friends for a late lunch mid-week, so the place was fairly empty. Our server was pleasant but very slow. We ordered sandwiches and salads. The ruben and chicken salad sandwiches were very good and came with fries which were good, but very stingy portions. The salads were large and excellently prepared. Crisp greens, cold fresh ingredients and tasty salad dressings. I think the prices are a bit high. Better service and larger portions of the fries would have raised the rating to 4 stars. read more

Took my neighbor to lunch today. I have been going to TooJays for many years after trying their killer cake which is great. We had a great server. Food arrived quickly. I had the salad trio. Approx 2 1/2- 3 hours later I started with symptoms of food poisoning. I called to speak with a manager and what was his response? "Let me tell you about food poisoning, symptoms don't start until 18-24 hours". Really? Where did you get your medical degree? Symptoms can start as soon as 1 hour though usually longer depending upon the organism. As I didn't have breakfast and that was the only thing I ate all day, I think I can safely assume it's likely to be the cause. He showed no concern. He's said he's going to pass it along. Right. Please see the response below from TooJays. The corporate office did follow up on this. They said they do an internal investigation when there is a food complaint. This restaurant has amazing food, but they have issues with delivery orders and cancel them. It's hard when you're disabled and can't get out to have the food that you crave. Having an illness that cusses so much pain is hard, but it's just a little easier with my favorite breakfast. Maybe next time the servers will think twice before canceling an order knowing what that order means to that person. read more

Well this is the 2nd time in a row went to this TJs and have had absolutely horrible service . The food is always great at TJs but the service here is really lacking . Today we asked for a avocado toast WITHOUT arugula . We repeated this twice to waitress who repeated it to us ( same one who lifted up our coffee cups and water glasses by the rim instead of on the side ) 2 mins later a guy comes over and asked what we didn't want on it , (apparently the first one didn't grasp it) well you know what happens next , 15 mins later the meal comes out and of course has piles of arugula on it . Both were at table and told us there were none on it ! They obviously didn't know what arugula was . They brought it back and returned with new one 15 mins later . Original waitress was pulling a Houdini most of the time there and had to ask others for refills on coffee . Damn we love the food there but gotta pick up on customer service . read more

I am usually a big-time fan of too Jays... Their soup is always good and my go to when I am sick. Got to say my most recent experience at this Boynton Beach location was less than pleasing. Our waitress was nice enough but seem to struggle a bit. We ordered the tuna salad chicken salad egg salad sampler. I was looking forward to it very much until we found a hair on the plate. Even before the hair was found, the salad trio just didn't seem as flavorful as I remembered it... Perhaps I've just become a better cook at home and have spoiled myself! My husband did not want to point out the hair and he refused to continue eating... I had to show the waitress because if it were me I would want to know. She asked if we would like another platter or if we just want to take it off the bill, my husband said he wanted it taken off the bill as he had lost his appetite. When the bill came she had not taken off the platter and instead of mentioning anything we just went ahead and paid the bill and tipped a regular 20% far average service. Unfortunately, after this experience I will only be eating too Jays soup and pastries from now on and skipping any other entrées and appetizers or salads. read more

I have always loved TooJay's, but the last few times of going it has been below par. We walk in and the hostess seats us, our "waitress" walks by us half a dozen times and doesn't say a word. The host ends up taking care of us , drinks , food and even delivered the food to us. Food was alright, two waitresses had breakdowns because they are clearly understaffed. Then the waitress who ignored us 15 times asks us if we wanted a refill. Sadly the check was even under the waitresses tab, i was sure to tip her nothing and give it directly to the host. She was working super hard, even the waitresses were rude to her in front of customers. Don't know what happened to this place, it's the customer service that blows more than anything else. Had to personally get up and ask for a box, Poor hostess can't do everything. I'll be sure to go to Flakawoitz or Bens next time. Can't justify the expensive prices for lousy service. Terrible experience. Ordered using app, and while they got the order right, nothing else was good. Waited more than 20 minutes, though sandwich was ready when I arrived, thus was no longer hot. Apology from manager for delay, but no offer of compensation of any kind. Potato pancakes poorly cooked, pastrami dry, and sourkraut was absolutely tasteless. How can you have bland sourkraut at a deli? Woefully understaffed. Final straw was hostess brought out black + whites for those waiting to be seated. She offered them as well to the two gentlemen behind me waiting for pick+up, but not me. Really? This cannot be considered a good NY deli in an area with residents who know better. We had lunch here on our last day in Boynton while on vacation with a big group. They seated us fairly quickly. First off, the A.C. is crazy cold. Frigid; I'm guessing its to keep all the retiree's happy. We were by far the only people under 70 in there. Pricey sandwiches and nothing jumped out at me. I have been to this particular location multiple times since it has opened and never received bad service. The food has always been great along with the great service. I always come for the tuna melt. But sometimes when I'm not feeling well, I pick up a quart of their amazing chicken noodle soup. The broth is light and clear, amazing in taste.
