Continuing on with our "trying different breakfast/lunch places", I randomly chose Touch of Paso today (a Wednesday). A stone's throw from the busy inner core of downtown Paso, the parking around Touch is easy and free. The entire property has a cute, homey, small-town feel. Inside is super cosy and very relaxed. I love the farmhouse decor. I had the tuna melt, fries and an ice tea. The hubby had a club sandwich. Everything was good. Fries were great. Service was okay (took a good few minutes to get noticed and seated). Prices decent - $33 + tip for two. Their breakfast menu is fairly expansive so we'll check that out on our next visit. read more

Not as good as it was a year ago. Food was over done, Hash Browns were burnt. Service was OK. People that were seated next to us had a large dog (No Service Dog indications) that sat across from their table with leash stretched across access and I had to wait for them to move it. We always have breakfast there when we are in Paso, but may need to reconsider after this. read more

This place is great for breakfast. I was attracted to this place because of their selection on their menu. I had many to choose from and was excited to see that they had several gluten feee options. I ordered a gluten free hotcakes with 2 poached eggs and bacon. The gluten free pancakes were delicious. My hubby ordered a similar breakfast but not gluten free. He said my pancakes were as good as the regular pancakes. We could hardly finish the breakfast as it came with four fluffy pancakes and several bacon. Service was great as well. The wait staff was very attentive, and my order was taken quickly with a short wait in between. I ordered a Belgian waffle combo ($14) 1 waffle, 2 scrambled eggs, and 4 pieces of bacon. With a side of biscuit and gravy. The downfall of the order was that my bacon was extremely greasy, and my biscuit was hard as a rock. Do not come here right now, they are seriously understaffed. Been here over an hour still waiting. Should not be accepting doordash orders when seated customers have been waiting over an hour for a bowl of fruit. They have two cooks they said but somehow they are still letting people put their names in and the to go orders keep going out. At this point we're regretting everything and contemplating walking out and getting food from a grocery store. Edited to add our food finally came and it was not good! They left off two ingredients in my daughter's omelet and the eggs Benedict were awful because of copious amounts of gloppy hollandaise. Spent the weekend in Paso Robles and stopped here for breakfast. Place was busy but not crowded. It's a converted house. Got greeted and seated right away. Service was spot on and friendly. This restaurant sits an easy walk from just outside the main area of Paso Robles park and is an excellent place for a high value breakfast. There is a large selection of breakfast meals that made it difficult to decide. The staff was very attentive when we arrived by greeting us and making us feel welcome We were immediately seated and ask what drinks we would like. We had to send our waitress away 2 times because of the difficulty in deciding what we wanted for breakfast, after placing our order she came back and refilled our drinks as well as bringing a small pitcher for our soda. Our food was delivered promptly and had lots of flavor. We order a crepes with berries and southern breakfast. The meal was a great value in a time that restaurants our raising prices and asking for smaller portions and higher tips for less service. After paying our bill and getting ready to leave the waitress stopped by and thanked us for coming and eating at Touch of Paso. I never heard back from the manager but when I returned the waitresses were awesome. They were so sweet and apologetic. They said other customers walked out that day and the kitchen staff was unorganized. Ok so the food was good. But.. I ordered the breakfast special. We waited on our food and when it came they only brought two dishes. So my mom and sister waited till I got my plate. We waited around 5 minutes. The waitress saw that they weren't eating. So she came up and told us that they were out of beans and are working on making a new batch. What a perfect spot for breakfast. Hospitality was incredible and the food was delicious. We were turned away from a nearby restaurant because they couldn't fit our entire party. The folks at Touch of Paso set us up on the outside patio which was perfect for for our rowdy family. Our waitress, Cindy, was very accommodating and also had a fun sense of humor. The food was so so so so so good. We were all sharing our meals with eachother and they even split a meal for two of us who we're sharing. Very thoughtful. Me and my wife were visiting town and looked up the place and it looked real good decided to test their eggs Benedict is that is my specialty and I was rather disappointed/disgusted that they use knor packaged hollandaise sauce I asked them if they made fresh hollandaise they said yes, and then they have prodded them. They said it was knorr. Some people consider that fresh. They did not have hashbrowns as they said they do. They ran out. The eggs were both hard with terrible hollandaise sauce if you can even call that, they have a great business. I don't know why they would ever do that. Please people make your own hollandaise sauce. It's not that hard the places pretty darn busy if they just got a reputation for proper eggs, Benedict would be twice as busy read more

I have distinct hope they can up their game by sourcing better ingredients in the future. I am however keeping my original review: Extremely disappointed I couldn't give this place more stars. So much hope when we walked in: charming, clean, bright, pretty. Friendly staff nice introduction good service.... But the food. Sub- par. We ordered the huevos rancheros and the pork chop with eggs over medium. Nothing fresh on the huevos rancheros, everything seemed out of a can. The porkchop was practically unedible -- tough dry and the least flavorful thing I've ever had. Asked for hashbrowns extra, extra crispy and they were barely browned. Same for the toast, barely even brown. Lastly, they play a local morning show on the radio which is just talk talk talk and terrible music. I don't know who wants to hear that nonsense first thing in the morning -- but not us. Sorry we can't recommend this very cute lovely looking breakfast restaurant. read more

Went for breakfast with some friends who chose this place for us. I am glad they did! They have tables and booths with a country-themed, Relaxed local vibe for breakfast, with good coffee and large portions. I had the Touch of Paso Omelette, and it was delicious with Avocado, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms and cheese. Very good fresh flavors and cooked perfectly. Came with hash browns and orange slice. My wife got the pancakes combo with eggs and sausage and it was huge! I got a bite of the pancakes and they were very good and fluffy. Had a really good experience here. We had a fairly large party of 6, but they were willing to accommodate us within about 15-20 minutes. This is a nice little place for breakfast/lunch and the food here was very good. Really nice size portions and a huge selection to choose from. Prices here were also very reasonable. The food was amazing. I took my 88 year young parents to breakfast and they both loved it. I don't mind saying that my mum can be a bit picky when it comes to food ( now I see where I get it :) she said wow this was delicious and we both agreed. I was happy to see that the hash browns weren't greasy in fact they were perfect. Great selection of dishes to boot. Major kudos to Erica our waitress who was so sweet. We stopped here because where we wanted to go was closed and were pleasantly surprised. The food was really good and they had GF options. My husband had a French Dip and I had a Patty Melt subbed GF bread. The thousand island was house made and yummy, fries were crispy and hot. This place has been around for as long as I can remember. It's crazy how few times I have eaten here. I have only been here for breakfast and it's always been good food with sweet great service from folks who have been here for awhile. It's definitely a home town favorite spot. A lot of customers are on a first name basis with the employees. I was amazed at how many people that walked in the door were greeted by name and the staff knew what they wanted. You just don't see that much anymore. I had the chicken fried steak and it was great and the gravy was delicious biscuit was light a fluffy with more gravy. Yumm. This is our family's favorite breakfast. There is seven of us so it can be a chore and they always handle it with speed and grace. We love the hash browns and atmosphere. We are building great family memories one special occasion at a time. Recently my daughter had the avocado toast(not into meat) and it looked so good. A go to staple of Paso on every trip. It's pretty good diner food with decent portions and options. Is it the best diner out there, maybe not but for sure above average. It's a bit off the beaten path and there are many locals here which is always a good sign since they're not trying to cater to the winery clientele. Definitely will be returning on future trips to Paso. This is pretty much the only bfast place we stop at during our trips up here. read more
