    California Burger
    Eugene A.

It feels great to be back at Tower Burger after 12 years! My bestie and I ate here for dinner on a foggy Sunday evening. It wasn't too busy at 5:30pm, but it got busier as it approached 6pm. We used to eat here for lunch on special occasions or for dinner before a show at our high school. The ambiance significantly changed for the better as it became modern with updated tables and gray chairs. Ordering was easy at their counter, and the staff on duty kindly writes it down including specific requests. I ordered a California Burger without cheese and tomatoes, while my friend ordered a hamburger. There's an option to add fries for approximately $4.99 to your burger orders. After placing and paying for our orders, we were able to sit at any table. Our orders were ready within 10 minutes. The burgers were perfectly charbroiled and were delicious and not heavy. It suited well with the avocado slices, lettuce, red onions and the toasted buns. The fries were crispy and not greasy. It matched well with a side of honey mustard sauce (as per my request). The quality has sustained well since my high school era. Tower Burger is the legit OG place for burgers in the Twin Peaks-Miraloma area!

Tower burger was juicy and flavorful, fries were crispy and well seasoned; staff was friendly and accommodating

Seems like there is a fast food desert in San Francisco which is a good thing. After Wendy's left the city it seems lots of good alternatives to burgers have spawned everywhere from where's the beef ? to regular beef and vegetarian to vegan. Tower Burgers location is a desolate burger spot since you would not find another burger place within more than over a half mile any direction. At Tower Burgers it offers different styles of burgers like the Burger with Brie and mushroom ( Paris). The menu also offers fish and chips with great cuts of cod fish and also prawns and chips. They also offer garlic and regular fries. I decided to get namesake burger "The Tower Burger" with bacon, caramelized onion, mushroom, cheddar cheese, and their secret sauce ( I have a hunch about what's in it). On a hot day I will get the Mitchell's Vanilla Milkshake.Good laidback community place to enjoy a meal. Very consistent. Tower Burgers is the place with a bit of everything interwine Get a burger with a beer and wine according to the menu sign

Just had the California burger with fries and it was amazing! Here's a couple photos that I took of the meal. Great service and good food. I highly recommend this place.

The Paris burger, sauteed mushrooms with melted Brie cheese.

I just wanted to give an update and say this place remains awesome. And if you haven't had their milkshakes, they're the best. They use Mitchell's ice cream, locally sourced and San Francisco all the way. Let's keep supporting these good folks.

    Paris burger

Wait time was short and the food was great! I got the Paris burger (blue cheese and mushrooms, friend got the mushroom and Swiss and 3rd guest got the chili and a shakes - which used Mitchell's ice cream. Big burger. Oh the garlic fries? Let's just say, I'll be back!

    Chicken Caesar salad

Still loving their healthy sized Chicken Ceasar Salad, my absolute favorite!! If you're ordering for p/u, make sure to tell them to put the crouton on the top or side because when they put it under all that massive chicken the croutons end up a bit soggy by the time you bring it home. Real friendly staff too.

The base drink, basically a frozen espresso martini, was good, but the topper cheese was SOOO salty. If that's your vibe, try it! We switched out for a brut, which was lovely. The apps were excellent! We got the smoked salmon sliders and the 100 layer, both of which were well-designed and very tasty. Our waiter was excellent. This place was included on a list of Sunday brunch recommendations. I had seen other fellow Elite Yelpers recommending it, so I wanted to try it. We had the French toast sticks, very good, as well as the classic breakfast dish, my partner had the breakfast burrito. Both dishes were decent, but we were there for the company mostly. The restaurant was quaint and cute, more compact, but had a secondary overflow area in a separate part of the restaurant. There were restrooms on both side, and Causewells served as a chill morning for us with our friends. The location had a cute bar set up for evening link ups, and the service was very friendly. The vibe is more of what you go for the food is decent but won't necessarily blow you away. Try them out and see for yourself. For tourists, or visitors of the city, the location is in the Marina District, so Golden Gate Bridge is near if you'd like to sightsee. This location is also very close to the Presidio theater.

The wait on a Wednesday evening was kind of long but doesn't feel too bad when you're with good company. My friend and I waited about an hour around 6:30. The mushroom pizza was very flavorful. We also got the olive oil cake which came with a dollop of what I think is whipped cream cheese. It had a strong olive oil flavor, extremely moist and delicious. We were seated at the bar and although it was a little tight, it was nice to be able to look around the decorated area behind the bar. Tons of vinyls and quirky decor. Everybody has any reason to say it's a better burger whether it's for the purple onions, pickles , or buns. There is a place which serves the Cali Burger. On a West Portal stroll there is a burger place which sells the Cali Burger. The Cali Burger means fresher ingredients usually locally sourced in California. Calibur is the place to get an organic grass fed burger. I got the double cheese burger with Calibur sauce. It was tasty and it had great flavor along with a soft bun. The fresh grass fed cheese burger pairs well to eat with cheese fries in SF. The fries were crispy and saucy and got a bit messy. Calibur also sells chili cheese dogs along with different flavors of shake including Neapolitan. Overall a good place to fresh grass fed cheese burger on a bun. The woman at the counter was really friendly. I used to work retail and dealing with customers, even at the start of the shift, can wear you down pretty quick. So I gotta give props to her for being positive during this very busy day. I got the crispy hot honey chicken tacos, which is one of this month's specials. It came with delicious sweet corn, cabbage slaw, chipotle mayo, and a cilantro-lime crema. It's basically the flavors of elote with fried chicken and it yummy! The breading on the chicken was even and crisp. And I enjoyed the spicy-sweet flavor of the honey, which complemented the chipotle mayo. I also enjoyed the crunch from the cabbage and the softness of the flour tortilla. I paired with it the fried Brussels sprouts to get another veggie into my meal. Though I do love very charred sprouts, there was a hint of bitterness. I may have needed more lime to cut that. The jalapeño mayo was good. But I think tossing it in pork fat is the way to go with Brussels sprouts to really pump up the flavor. I'm not sure what oil they fry it in. I think I'll stick to their sweet potato fries, which never disappoints. It's always busy there, but it's never too difficult to find a place to sit. It's shared seating, with long tables inside and large tables outside. But my friend and I took it to go so we can have dinner with the show. And the timing was perfect - we didn't wait too long to get our order and we arrived about 20mins before the band started. The quality of Gott's has been consistent over the years across their locations. So it's a tried and true place to get a delicious meal.
