Their fried chicken was juicy and had a great exterior but I wish the inside of the chicken was seasoned/marinated better. Once you ate that delicious skin, the inside of the chicken didn't really have much flavor. The mashed potatoes were some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. Super smooth and flavorful! Their biscuits were so delicious, crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The broccoli w/ cheese was good, it tasted like how I would expect it to taste like! Not too much of a wow factor there. We also got two cocktails and they were delish, it was a great compliment to the meal. We sat outside on the patio, it was really secluded and had a great vibe to it. The servers were attentive and they even offered to pack our food for us instead of giving us to go boxes!

I really enjoyed this place. I have been coming to this place for years. I visited this place the first time since the pandemic ended. It has not changed. Their fried chicken is amazing. Also their butterscotch pudding is decadent. The restaurant serves southern style cuisine. Everything on the menu looks good and tastes good. The customer is service is good and friendly.

Our group made an appointment to visit Town Hall. I had never heard of this place before but a foodie in our group said pre covid, it was really difficult to get in. First, I love the atmosphere. It's in a beautiful brick building and the lighting creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Although there is a second floor, we were told that it was closed for the time being, so we sat on the first floor. I appreciated that tables/seating had been removed to practice covid guidelines, which I appreciated. We ordered a handful of appetizers- everything from okra, pork belly, pig ears, cornbread, salad, and more! My favorite appetizer was probably the cornbread. For my entree, I ordered their fried chicken. They gave a generous portion. We also split a dessert which I believe was a butterscotch pudding. It was really sweet, so it's best to share unless you have a sweet tooth. Their service was also great. Overall, glad I got to try a new place.

This place was just OK. Went for brunch with a group of 6. We sat outside on their patio. If did not seem to be incredibly busy. We ordered wine, beer, and a Bloody Mary to drink. Take note there is no beer on tap, all bottles. The Bloody Mary (mine) was pretty basic and tasted a little watered down. For the food, we ordered a bunch of chicken waffles, a Benedict, cornbread, and a side of jambalaya (?). The food took forever to come out. However, everyone enjoyed the chicken and waffles. I wish it would come with some syrup, and I would have asked but no one came to check on us after the food was served. The cornbread was in a skillet and also very tasty. Our waitress finally came out to bring us the check. We then asked if we could split the check into 3 (for each couple) and she appeared very annoyed. When she finally came back she said she couldn't do it since she had already printed the check and "had she known" she could have separated the checks ahead of time. Unfortunately we didn't know that the next time we saw our server after ordering was when she brought us the check. So my advice is to tell the server when you're ordering. Overall, good food, but poor service left a bad taste in our mouths.

Super friendly staff with a great menu. They serve what's in season and locally fresh. I had the okra fries, butternut squash empanadas and gnocchi. All three were delicious! The drinks are flavorful and made well here. I'd return because the staff was outstanding and made you feel welcome.

I ordered the Beef short ribs (so tender!) and my husband had the pork chop. Both were delicious!!!!! We started off with the deep fried okra which I've never had they were crunchy and just the right amount of salty. The service was very good, and people were friendly and attentive. My sister-in-law had the fried chicken, which she shared a little bit with us and it was quite delicious. We would definitely come back. We live in the East Bay - BART getting off at the Embarcadero exit is definitely the way to go for us. It was only a very short six minute walk.

Came by here the other day for happy hour. Great selections for good and drink. We prefer the wings, fried okra, pimento cheese, and buttermilk biscuits. Wow! Super tasty and perfect portion for sharing. I'll definitely come back again and bring others. Looks like their dinner menu has lots more delicious options that I can't wait to try. The service was great and very attentive.

Came here for dinner since my husband was craving chicken and waffles The restaurant was super festive for the holidays, very cute. Our hostess was very engaging and bubbly! Sat us at a corner table away from noisy bar area which was nice. The menu had lots of good options! I went for the ribs and we split the butter lettuce salad. I think we both really enjoyed the salad. The dressing was tasty and the lettuce was crispy with a nice little sweet crunch from the nuts. The ribs were yum. I was very happy with my decision and got to taste the chicken and waffles, also very good! Solid restaurant in the downtown area!

I thought I loved the chicken sandwich here but during my most recent visit, I was pretty disappointed. This is my second time here and both times I have ordered the fried chicken sandwich. The first time I came here, I thought it was decent-- I thought it was even on my top list of fried chicken sandwiches place to go. But the second time (most recent visit), the friend chicken was not hot and fresh and it had a weird unfamiliar taste to me. I don't know why but it tasted as if something was either spoiled or I was just straight up not used to the seasoning. Other than that, the starters were good, especially the okra! The cornbread was pretty decent as well. As always, service was superb. It's just with all the food options around me, I would not purposely go out of my way to come back here.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 -- Adjustments to net score: None Net score: 5/5 TLDR: A true pleasure of a place serving delectable comfort food. I am still dreaming about the chicken and biscuits. Ordered: - Chicken wings (5/5) - amazing chicken wings, possibly the best I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Great crunch, meat comes off so easily from the bone, and the mashed potatoes that come with it are seriously sinful. - Ham flight (4/5) - Ham flight with different aged pieces was good, but nothing earth shattering. The buttermilk biscuits (5/5) that came with it though were out of this world - they were soft and buttery and I devoured the entire basket. The accompanying butter and pepper jelly made this perfect. Skip the ham flight, order the biscuits as a side. Service: - So friendly and so quick! Checked in very frequently. Dog friendly: Yes! - Outdoor covered patio, very spacious - Server brought water for our pup

When we sat down for this meal I was expecting to be giving around three stars... we were outside in an area alone and the wait staff had seemed to forget us (or was super busy which is also likely.) Needless to say, I absolutely loved this meal and the service quickly redeemed itself! Our drinks came out almost instantly, served by whom I imagine is the manager. She was cheerful, pleasant, and attentive. She then had the staff move a second heater over to our table without us asking - and this level of consideration was perhaps my favorite part of the night! (Also, the hostess brought over water for our dogs without us asking which was lovely.) The food was delicious. We ordered the corn soup, the shrimp, the jalapeño cornbread, the jambalaya, and the collard greens. Along with two hot toddies that warmed us up! The flavors of each item were wonderful. I don't think I could pick my favorite dish, I could pick my least favorite which were the collard greens, but they were still pretty darn good! If I had to suggest you get three of the five we ordered, I would highly recommend the corn soup and the shrimp, and then tell you to get the jalapeño cornbread to dip in both the soup and the sauce of the shrimp dish. I think the portion sizes were fair given pricing, and was even surprised with how large the side orders of Jambalaya and collard greens were. I would definitely come back!

We recently had a work lunch at Town Hall, and I was pretty excited - I had never been and had heard great things. We had a reservation for 12 people at 12:30pm on a Wednesday - we arrived on time were seated promptly. We ordered some appetizers while deciding on our entrees: - Jalapeño corn bread - Crispy fried okra - Buttermilk biscuits - Beet salad - Tuna tartare All of the appetizers were pretty good, but the corn bread was the clear winner - warm, sweet, and spicy! For my main, I ordered the burger with cheddar cheese and a side of fries. The food took awhile to come out, and my burger was a bit over cooked. It still tasted good, and the side of fries were plentiful - so pretty much a win in my book! Finally for dessert, we ordered a few slices of chocolate cake and ice cream for the table to share. It was good, but a pretty standard slice of cake. Overall, I wasn't disappointed or impressed - it was a decent meal, and I probably would opt for something else if the choice was mine, but I wouldn't complain if somebody else chose to go here again.

My first time here. I ordered the Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich. You pick up your Ritual (Ritual App) order outside, so it's nice...no lines. There is a restaurant but I didn't get inside. I think I would like to do that. I need to try it. The sandwich was very tasty and had a lot of flavor. The addition of extra sauce and coke slaw was great. I will be back.

There are two rooms, one in the front with a puzzle theme, and another in the back with a Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings) vibe. Staff was friendly and took time to explain the clever menu to us!

Lore's Wonderland escape room was a fun and delightfully whimsical experience. **This review is…read moremainly for the escape room, as we did not order any additional drinks outside of the escape room.** THE SPACE // Lore Speakeasy and Escape Room has cool themed decor everywhere, from the dimly-lit speakeasy/bar room in front, to the Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings-themed board game room, to the individual bathrooms, and of course the escape room's multiple Alice in Wonderland-themed rooms. Clearly a lot of effort went into building these rooms and evoking a certain vibe for each. THE ESCAPE ROOM // The puzzles in the escape room varied in difficulty - some required us to think a bit more, some required our observational skills to work harder, and others required a light level of physical skill/movement. We were perplexed a few times but never got stuck for too long, as the White Rabbit (played by Phoenix, the live actor/puzzle master) would jump in occasionally to provide clues over the speaker or in person. It took us about 1 hr 20 min to finish the entire escape room; I thought the pacing was good. THE [ESCAPE ROOM] DRINKS // Lore's escape room experience comes with "a flight of themed cocktails or mocktails, including "potion"-style drinks that are integrated into the experience as you progress", per the website. We got to choose one cocktail/mocktail option (Korean Cold Noodles) from a list on the website, and the other two drinks are pre-selected to supposedly fit into the Wonderland theme, with the flavors described online as "berry" and "peach". You can get both cocktail and mocktails for your party, in case some people want alcohol and others don't. We all enjoyed the flavor of the Korean Cold Noodles cocktail, which was refreshing and surprisingly a bit minty in the mocktail version. However, we didn't like the two other two pre-selected themed drinks as much. The "berry" drink gave us cherry cough syrup vibes, and the cocktail version of it was quite strong. The "peach" mocktail drink reminded me of canned fruit syrup; we also were missing the two cocktail versions, though we decided not to ask for them as the mocktail version already was less than impressive. One other missed expectation here was the size of the drinks that we received in the escape room. We were expecting full-sized cocktails, like what they serve in the speakeasy in front. Instead, we found out that the drinks are served in small "vials". Given the size of the drinks in the escape room, combined with us not even enjoying two out of the three drinks, I would preferred to go through the escape room without the drinks at all, and likely pay a bit less for the escape room then. OVERALL // I'd still recommend the escape room as a good one-time experience with a date/friends/family. Just don't expect too much from the included themed drinks! The speakeasy drinks on the main menu do sound unique/tasty, so I might come back again to try those sometime.

The interior design is modern, thoughtfully designed, and aesthetically beautiful. There's also a spacious, bright outdoor patio.
