I like Trader Joe's, I really do... but every time I go to this location, I feel like I'm going to lose my mind. First off, the aisles aren't big enough for two carts. I should be able to go in and get my groceries without having to be a human Tetris piece. Also, the customers at this location are so incredibly rude. Maybe it's because they also hate this location, or maybe they're just nasty human beings, but I encounter a jerk every single time I go here. To these awful TJ customers - saying "excuse me" takes two seconds, and it goes a really long way. Also, if you run over someone's foot with your cart, say "I'm sorry". Being polite is really easy! Second, the check out lines are incredibly slow, because the checkers feel the need to talk about every single item you're buying. "Oh, eggs! I like eggs. Have you tried egg whites?" This then opens Pandora's Box. Yesterday, the checker stopped ringing up items to lean on the counter while the woman in front of me talked about a casserole she made for her grandkids. Also - you don't know what line you're waiting for. You can be standing in the middle of two lines, and someone comes up from behind you and snakes one of the spots. Make signs. Spread out the lines. Do something, Trader Joe's. In the end, I will happily drive the extra 15 minutes and endure the Victoria traffic to go to the old location. They know how to get the lines moving, read more

I just wanted to say thanks to all the stuff of the Trader Joe's. This store has done an amazing job protecting us and providing a great service still! The line outside of the store is moving fast! I have been going to this store for more years than I can count. It is a great location, well stocked and the staff is professional and very friendly. They stand behind all that they sell and are happy to exchange items purchased. I love that one may go to the front desk for information or guidance and someone is always ready with a solution. The produce area is big draw for me. The prices are great and they offer a variety of organic items. They have a wonderful selection of fresh flowers all year long. read more

This place has become my personal hell. Since the new chip card system was put in place, arriving here after work to grab dinner items is pure punishment. It's a decision to stand in line for 35 minutes, with lines snaking down aisles, people in each other's way, etc. Tonight I said enough is enough, walked out, and drove the 10 minutes to the Victoria location. Surprise! Complete normalcy. The managers at this Trader Joe's will tell you that their computer issues are the problem. On other days, they'll tell you that they suddenly have unprecedented demand, because the Fresh & Easy (which no one shopped in) went out of business. The real problem is that this store *sucks* at adapting to change, and weeks later, after other TJ's around the region have successfully adapted, they're still hand wringing and telling people they're "hoping" it will get better. The other key issue is that a majority of the checkers in this store have fallen into a culture of talking more than checking when interacting with customers. Here's a news flash, Hawaiian shirt: I don't really need to know how much you like the product I'm buying, or how good it tastes, or how much you want to try it. I'm going to go home and try it, independent of what you think about it. If you're going to make me take longer to get there because you have to stop bagging to tell me about the pizza I'm going to eat? I'm going to shop for that same pizza somewhere else, because the only thing keeping me from getting to my kitchen to try the pizza myself is *you.* To Victoria from now on -- where the folks are just as personable, but can actually adapt to changing technology, and multitask while being pleasant. This is such a nice Trader Joe's! I have been to a fair share of TJ's but this one was especially clean and well-stocked and full of friendly employees! It is also quite large which is good because Trader Joe's can get super busy sometimes and the last thing you want is to be caught in a traffic jam in the aisles with other customers! I will definitely come to this one more often! read more

I have never seen a mean or upset employee in this store! They are always willing to help you find anything and everything! Love shopping here for fresh produce and frozen goods! A friend and I came for the grand opening when the store first opened. The parking lot is nice and big, the spaces are a little small and they could use more places to put shopping carts but the amount of space is definitely nice. A lot of people have been saying the store is bigger than the Victoria one. I don't really see it but the store is really beautiful and they have everything the other store has including fresh flowers and plants which is really great. The employees seem to love their jobs and really care about your shopping experience. That along with the fact that they have some of the most delicious food I've ever eaten makes this our favorite grocery store around. I don't know what I would do if they stopped carrying the Mandarin Orange Chicken or the Maple Leaf Cookies. The best part is we live so close to this store and don't have to drive across town for our favorite food items! read more

This new store is a beauty. It is spacious and well stocked except the flower selection did not seem as big as the Victoria location. It is really convenient if I happen to be out and about at the Mall or Target to swing by and get a few things. Lots of parking makes me a happy customer! read more

Firstly, the staff is FRIENDLY and AMAZING! Nina, Breezy, Tony, and their friend Jen even found our dog Willie that had been missing 4 days and guarded him for hours until they were able to reach us. Joes is good but limited. A heads up for salmon buyers....DONT buy the frozen salmon that is sold as from Canada...its usually skinless and less expensive than the wild Alaskan stuff that is from Alaska and comes 2 pieces to a package. The piece I bought at Joes in Ventura was the Canada product and was rotten IN the package. I had thrown away the receipt so I couldnt return it.The Alaskan stuff is good, I never had a problem with it. It has the skin on usually. read more

Had rude service from Sean, the entire time he didn't make eye contact or say hello. He was just throwing our groceries up on the table regardless of what they were and when it came time for him to give us our change he just threw the cash on the table instead of handing it to us. Never offered to help bag are groceries somebody else had to come do it but at that point we already halfway done. It was a little disappointing , trader Joe's has always been extremely customer service focused and Sean let them down today. read more

Both TJs in Ventura had discontinued their express lines, which was tremendously helpful for those of us in a time crunch or who just need to pick up a few things in a hurry. Their corporate office and individuals stores have been unresponsive when I've asked for the reason. TJ employees have told me that they also question the wisdom of this decision. TJs has become more "corporate" over the years and this is just one more reason to shop elsewhere. read more

I like this location because it is behind the Pacific View Mall and so I am able to park and go to not only TJ's but to Target and Bevmo too, since they are all neighboring businesses. This location however is usually super crowded and there are always lines. The staff are super friendly and the store is super clean. I love TJs. read more

Great location for a TJ's with plenty of parking. As with all Trader Joe's, the staff is always cool and friendly. The location is called the "Midtown" store. Love that. Now all they need is a "West End" store and Ventura will be even more stoked. read more

Quite possibly my favorite place to shop. The kids love the search for Sammy the Seal every time we go. That is a brilliant distraction with a reward at the register. They also have the best ice cream in the world. Many items are priced well below the regular markets read more

So convienent located next to Target in the Pacifc View Mall. I use thier vitamins and buy Ezekiel Bread and Tortillas. The canned Chicken Chili is chaeper and tastier than Staggs. Fun inexpensive greeting cards. Sometimes I get attatched to a favorite item, and it gets pulled from the shelves, and that is a bummer. But overall, its a very pleasant affordable way to get your gourmet on. read more
