The experience with Trek Movers was 5 stars from start to finish. First off, they were prompt with delivering my quote. I believe I got it within 30 minutes of sending the request. After accepting the quote, I was contacted instantly to set up a phone call to hash out the details of the move. They asked for all the information they needed to ensure an accurate assessment of the time and manpower required and thus were able to set realistic expectations. The woman did a fantastic job telling me what to expect the day of the move. On the day of the move, things went exactly as planned. I was contacted 30 minutes before their arrival. Tim, Andrey and Eduard introduced themselves and were professionals. They had a massive truck but they took the effort to squeeze the guy into our narrow parking lot so that it was closest to our stairwell. They didn't start the clock until this was all set up and they had viewed the apartment. I can't stress this enough but these guys are experts. They asked the right questions and move efficiently. They didn't disassemble anything that didn't need to be taken apart. Tim actually carried, carefully, my king-size bed frame by himself. They didn't damage any of our furniture, the old apartment, or the new apartment. Lastly, the guys were pleasant and good people. The customer service was top notch. I booked my move-out date from my apartment online and within an hour I received a call to confirm that all my information was correct. Tim and Dilshat arrived in the morning of my move-out date on time and did an inspection of all the items they would need to transfer to my new place. For only two people, they were very quick in getting all of my furniture disassembled, wrapped, and packed into their truck. The unloading process was fast as well except that Tim had left his jacket that had the screws for my bed frame back at the old apartment. I had to drive back to get those things for him, but he was nice enough to not charge me for that time. I contacted Trek a few weeks before my move and they were responsive, professional, and clear in their communication. They confirmed my information immediately and followed up the day before with another confirmation, making the day of a little less stressful. The movers, Tim and Alex, showed up within the window of their original estimate. Most importantly, the movers were great - not only professional, personable, and nice...but EFFICIENT. Because of COVID, it was a difficult ask for a bunch of my friends to come over and help. I would very much recommend Trek Movers. We needed movers within a week, and they had an opening with very competitive pricing. Getting a quote and scheduling our move was very simple over the phone. Moving Day - 1 Bedroom Apartment: I was determined to make sure we did not go over the 3-hour minimum, so we had already boxed and moved most of our apartment to our new location (5 minutes away). We mainly needed help with the bigger furniture, couch, TV, plants, mattress, etc. We had Farkhat and Nikolai helping us, and they were great! They were on time for our morning move and communicated when they were 30 mins away. They were very professional, explained everything when they arrived, and worked at a good steady pace. From the moment they started, to the final piece being unloaded, we finished in just under 3 hours. Great! TIP: As it states on the Trek website, I would recommend figuring out parking ahead of time and getting a city permit if needed (if moving to an apartment). Had a run-in with the local parking enforcement in K-town, but we got it handled. Post-Move Damage & Compensation: Although everything was properly wrapped and padded, we did find some damage to our Television screen after turning it on. Everything else was moved without any issue. I spoke with one of the supervisors, Chris, over at Trek, and he was extremely helpful in resolving the issue. I am 100% satisfied with the resolution, and it was relatively stress free. I think this is the biggest pro for using Trek Movers, they stand by their contract and resolved my one issue very easily. I was in correspondence with Sarah and Chris at Trek Movers, and had requested to receive a flat rate/not-to-exceed time estimate two weeks before my move date. I initially requested to do a Facetime call, but was told that they did not have an estimator available to do that with me, and that I could instead send pictures of my inventory, and send the addresses of my start and end points. I emailed this information within hours, and sent the pictures over WeTransfer; within minutes, I received an email confirming that my files had been downloaded. Over the next two days, I emailed twice before I received a response from Sarah, who simply said her team was extremely busy and would provide the estimate soon. After waiting another two days, I received an email from Chris, who told me that he would pass my details along to his estimator. I never received an estimate. I found Trek to be extremely unreliable. I understood that people at Trek were busy, but I felt that it would have taken minutes to have someone either do Facetime or review the pictures I had sent. I feel that they should not be offering a service (visual inspections before seeing things in person) that they cannot provide. I spent four days waiting for a response, and was lucky to be able to book another company in time for my move date. I ended up hiring a different moving company (SOS Moving, whom I highly recommend), and I did a one minute in-person walk through with them on moving day, and was able to receive an accurate time estimate. This involved visually inspecting everything, and not measuring anything at all -- in other words, this is something that could have been done over Facetime or by reviewing pictures as Trek had said they would. Punctual and professional, Trek Movers was a great find. They fit our three bedroom house into a Pod with ease, taking abt 2.5H to move the contents of a 1400 sq ft house. If you're low on supplies, they also have boxes and moving blankets for purchase (at reasonable prices, comparable to Lowe's). They were conscientious with our furniture while also moving efficiently. For two movers, it's $99/hour cash or $108/hour card with a minimum of three hours - I think it's $120-130/hour for three movers. When time comes to have our Pod unloaded, I would use them again. read more

Our experience with them was far from satisfactory - they brought it a team of people who didn't speak any English, which caused a lot of miscommunications. They would not listen to our instructions, broke some things and only partially reimbursed for one broken vase, lost most of my very expensive toiletries and cosmetics - entire bathroom (!), completely gaslighted when asked about lost items, refused to cover the loss AND even insurance deductible, wrote in foreign language (Russian) on our boxes so we had no idea where was what, poorly packed, spent quite some time staring into space, talking, etc. Giving an extra star to make it two, only because moving is hard work. Took their time to run out the clock. Inefficiently moved one item at a time by hand (ironing board, bed pillows) to make the move take twice as long. Argued with me about apartment security rules and when I wouldn't give them my apartment key fob. They presented their company well up to the actual move. While this company provided good service for a local move in Los Angeles some months ago, at that time, I put the moved boxes in a personal storage area, as I was vacating a commercial office to work from home. However, upon unpacking the boxes when I finally got around to tackling that project after months of delay (as it was not urgent), I discovered that a key box containing my office's laptop, external microphone, external camera, and several USB hub stations was missing. When I called Trek to report this, someone promised they would "check with the foreman" of that moving day and get back; they never called back. I called again to follow up, and the person answering called me "suspicious", despite my running my own business by the book for over 30 years and having an impeccable reputation for sensitive work. Despite having a nearly perfect credit score and taking great pains throughout my career to run an honest enterprise (despite knowing colleagues who don't), I was treated like some crook in a rude and dismissive manner and was rebuffed with no further recourse. So obviously one of the movers saw the box labeled "laptop" and pilfered it, or somehow allowed someone else access to it (like via an unsecured truck). Whatever; I'm out expensive equipment I have to replace because this company was not trustworthy with my things during a simple, short (two miles) move. So, no; I don't recommend this company. UPDATE: Dear Dave - I expected you to defend your company, which is understandable, but even the implication that this is "extortion" is highly inappropriate. I am a long-standing business owner in the community for decades, and I have worked extremely hard to maintain the highest legal, ethical, and professional standards. This has required effort and even sacrifice, but I'm proud of that long history. I wouldn't be where I am today if I were in the business of "extortion" of moving companies. I cannot say for certain that your movers stole the box of "outdated electronics" (which were still fully functional on a daily basis), I just know that I boxed the items myself, labeled the box, and somewhere between having it secured in my office and unpacking the boxes at home, that box was missing. (The storage was a room in my home, not a commercial storage facility). The seven-month delay was due to needing to tend to my daily business at my home office as well as a family emergency caring for my elderly mother, and "unpacking old boxes" from my vacated previous office was not a priority, as I already had duplicate items furnished in my home office that I used daily before and after the commercial office move. Unpacking them recently was just to clear space and sell/donate duplicate items. The fact that your analysis of my other reviews is about half positive and half negative is irrelevant; I tend to want to balance reviews so that I demonstrate that I reward good service with high scores and I protest bad service with low scores. If you want your business to be in the "positive" half, provide better service. At least two other recent reviews of your business criticize the competence and integrity of your staff with so-called "stellar" records. They also mention a complete lack of accountability for damage or mistakes, and they mention a lack of communications when complaints were made. That's not the "quality service and honesty in all our endeavors" that you like to claim. If you don't want to even discuss some kind of compromise to make good on this experience of either loss or theft, fine. But my review stands as a warning to other potential customers that if they experience the same circumstances, they can expect no recourse, and can make their choice of moving company services accordingly. I encourage you to re-think "blaming the victim" here; I think you'll run a better business -- and avoid negative reviews -- if you do. Not to mention adherence to a higher level of ethics than responding to customer complaints with aggressively obnoxious allegations of "extortion" to avoid taking responsibility for your staff's conduct. They might provide seemingly good or even excellent service on the surface (which I thought, initially, they did), but on closer inspection found either loss or theft of one of the many same-sized boxes moved.
