I was in the diamond district with my mom and we were parking to go to LA Cafe but ended up here and boy were we glad. We ordered and spent a little time in the area and then came back. The service was excellent. The guy helping us was so friendly and efficient. We each had a chicken burrito and shared a lentil soup. We drove to the US Bank tower area to eat there. We were not expecting much and when we bit into the burrito we looked at each other immediately so happy. It had been a super long day and a long drive for me all the way from San Diego and that burrito made it all worth it. It was paired with a delicious sauce. I loved that it wasn't spicy. The flavors were so perfect no spice needed. My mom however did want it spicy and to her surprise they'd included Tapatio sauces. She was still very impressed with the sauce. It also came with fries. Perfection. I didn't get to try the lentils because I was so full but my mom said they were delicious and blew her away. However, where I have to critique Central Kitchen is the actual quality of the food and ingredients. For the price and how nice everything looks when it comes out, I expected better quality. The pancakes looked absolutely delicious when they arrived, but unfortunately, the taste didn't match the presentation. They tasted like very basic powder and water pancake mix. There wasn't that rich, homemade or higher quality flavor I was expecting. They also give you the little pre-packaged Smucker's syrup cups, which contain high-fructose corn syrup. I asked if they had an alternative syrup, such as pure maple syrup, but unfortunately they did not. The turkey in my omelet also tasted very processed, which was disappointing. Some of the other food items actually tasted good, so I'm not necessarily saying the food tasted bad across the board. My issue was more with the quality of the ingredients being used, especially considering the prices. Overall, beautiful location, great ambiance, nice service and very aesthetically pleasing. But when it comes to the food itself, I would like to see the quality of the ingredients match the atmosphere, presentation and price point. For that reason, I'm not sure the food would be enough to bring me back.

This is one of those places. The cashier is Patrick Star, and the person cooking in the back must be his long lost cousin. Together they form one of the greatest duos in fast food incompetence. I was polite, patient, and respectful the entire time. I pay, grab my food, park, and unwrap the burger. First bite. Game over. One bite was all it took. This thing was beyond trash. Not mediocre. Not disappointing. Straight up garbage. The fries were the only thing that managed to avoid being a complete disaster. But somehow... it got worse. I head to the restroom to wash my hands. It's locked. I go back to the cashier, who hands me the restroom key. Mind you, this is the same person handling cash, touching the filthy restroom key, and then going right back to handling customers' food. Employee of the fucking month. I finally get inside. No hand soap. No paper towels. Nothing. I walk back out and politely say, "Miss, there's no hand soap. Could you please refill it so I can wash my hands?" She looks at me, hands me a stack of paper towels like she solved world hunger, says "OK," and immediately goes back to whatever she was doing. Didn't refill the soap. Didn't even acknowledge the actual problem. Remember, this is after I treated everyone there with nothing but respect. Then I made the mistake of reading the reviews. Page after page of one star reviews. People saying they got sick. Complaints about terrible food. The exact same issues... going back nearly ten years. Ten Years!!!! At that point, I wasn't even surprised anymore. The real mystery isn't why the burger tasted like it lost the will to live. The real mystery is how this place is still in business.
