Food was good, but the service was not good. It was very slow at lunch on a Tuesday. Plus, there was a big issue for me... there was no tp in the bathroom. I asked 4 different people about it while we were there, over the course of two hours (Yes, the service was that slow!). Nobody did anything about the urgent issue. I feel bad that I left a 20% tip, before my 4th trip to the rest room, fully expecting to find it restocked, and it wasn't. I won't go back! read more

Our friends and neighbors like the one in Scottsdale, so we decided to give the new one in Tucson a try. We both had the burger, which was pretty gristly. In fact, I left a little pile of gristle on the plate. The salad served with the burger was miniscule, and they must have had a special on cucumbers, because they were the main salad ingredient. There is a good wine selection and my husband's well gin and tonic was good, he said. We had an apple crumb cake and a turtle sundae for dessert. The cake was good, sundae was as one would expect, but the little bean like nuts on it were inedible. I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about this restaurant. Healthy food need not be bland, and I don't know that we will visit again. They need to up their game in the kitchen. Service was polite, but slow. read more

We had it catered to my work. Otherwise I would never. The wrap was not good. Too many olives. I actually like olives but that is all you taste. They even managed to make a chocolate chip cookie inedible. Healthy/natural food can be delicious but cookies aren't meant to be healthy. read more

food has been fine both times i've been here. the issue is the service. it took at least 10 minutes to be greeted yesterday, same went for all the tables around us on the patio. it was post-brunch timing and i felt it wasn't very busy. our server was clearly riding the struggle bus. restaurant work isn't for everyone and that's okay, but wow. we were a 2 top, and ordered the hummus app. it arrived and it's a literal vat of hummus + 4 thin slices of pita bread. the next time the server walked by, he offered to bring us more pita so we said sure thanks. then he disappears. like 15 min later our entrees come, so i tell the runner she can just take the hummus away. 2 min after that a diff runner comes up and tries to give us the pita. i tell him oh well too late now, i just had her take the hummus bc this took too long. our server then finally comes by, says sorry and that he'll have the hummus comped. another 40+ min later, he comes to clear our plates and drop the bill. the hummus is still on it PLUS an upcharge for the extra pita bread he offered, without him making any mention it was an extra charge. i ended up speaking to the manager who made the bill right + comped our drinks (which were never refilled btw). we also couldn't help but overhear the manager apologizing for the bad service to another table behind us. for the price here, the staff needs to get it together. not to mention, the first time i came here i was sitting at the outside bar, and watched the managers do the pre-shift meeting as the hostess is sitting 6, 7, 8 tables on the patio and no one is greeted for 15 minutes while the pow wow is happening. then when dismissed, all the servers walked inside... the managers make rounds apologizing for the delay in service and offering waters. like what. there's much better options not only at la encantada, but in tucson in general. read more

I made a reservation days ahead. Got there, only to be taken outside. It was a cold night for tucson so reminded the host that I made a reservation. She curtly said, "making a reservation just gives you a table, not either in or out." Wish they noted that on the reservation page. Didn't need the attitude either. Upside, the waiter got us a heater. Bad news: they ran out of vegan patties. Good news the waitress was great and gave us a desert. The food was great. Aside from the seating/reservation issue, I would go back. Just might bring a jacket. read more

Food is usually pretty good and fresh. I do enjoy coming here. The portions are "just enough" which is fine but the prices are too much for the amount you get. My husband's scramble was over 19 dollars and he got three bite sized chunks of meat and four cubes of potatoes. read more

I was there a week ago and ordered a shot of Patron with a soda back. I was charged $17.50 which is pretty high especially considering the pour. We then went to our table and had a full meal along with a second shot of Patron, no soda back this time. The price changed to $20.52! I didn't notice until after I'd paid the bill or I would have had a discussion then and there. It's bad enough that we're all getting gouged on overpriced mediocre food, but this gouge is too painful to let ride. I'll drink somewhere else first if I go back. read more

My girlfriend and I have been waiting for True Food to open up for quite some time. The restaurant had a unique design of which we enjoyed, for example, the cooks through the glass window of the kitchen. Absolutely LOVED this place!!! My friend and I decided to grab some lunch after a hike. We were looking for a light snack and nothing too heavy. Little did we know, this place was perfect. Our server (Etien I believe was his name) was so friendly and kind. He made sure we were happy with our drinks and food as he knew we were from out of town. The food had so much flavor for being extremely healthy. Usually healthy food has no flavor and is so basic. NOT this place! They did amazing with putting everything together. Another thing we loved was the drink options for non-alcohol. I've never seen so many options and I loved it!!! When we arrived, we were told there was about a 2 hour wait but if we sat outside we would be sat immediately. We didn't mind sitting outside at all. It was a beautiful day! The hostesses were extremely kind and very helpful. Would recommend coming here and giving it a try!! read more

The tables are so stuffed together I felt like I was at somebody else's date. The veggie enchiladas are not what I expected (in a bad way) but drinks were delicious! I came in on Sunday for brunch. I had a reservation with two of my friends and it was their first time at True Food. Everyone had a great time. We enjoyed the food as well as the service. Great experience at true Food kitchen! Our server Xen was great. Very attentive and personable. We really enjoy the hummus starter (with extra pita). The ancient grains bowl with steak was sooooo awesome! It looks was also very filling. Tuna Poke was pretty light, so if that is what you are going for then then it's a good option. It was tasty and beautifully presented, but the ancient grain bowl was definitely the star! We definitely recommend True Food Kitches. They make healthy taste so good! read more

First of all, we did not eat there so can't comment on the food. We had a reservation for eight people and had to wait about ten minutes to be seated....no big deal. But, we were seated outdoors, temperature was 52. There was a heater at a table near by but not near us. At the end of our table of eight there was no heater in sight. They had some overhead, but none of the heat reached us. We waited about another ten minutes and no one came around to even offer us water. They did, however provide blankets if you requested one. Nice and cozy, but the wind coming in was freezing, along with the rain. I asked if they would lower their screens, but they said, "no" it would interfere with their plants. Apparently the plants were more important than the customers' comfort. Then I asked if they could move one of the heaters closer and was told Management didn't allow for the heaters to be moved. There was no way we could stay. We all had jackets on but they were not enough to keep us comfortable. I'm sure the food would have been served cold in minutes. We plan on another trip to the restaurant but not until the weather is in the 70's. Hopefully we can offer a more positive review. What a great night! We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and were seated immediately in a booth, as requested. The restaurant was very busy but the vibe was lively and fun, not hectic or loud. Or maybe we were having such a good time we didn't notice. In all honesty, the butternut squash soup is sooo scrumptious, there's gotta be a 12-step program for it somewhere! The salmon was utterly perfect! Our friends loved the pesto pasta, spinach and mushroom pizza, and something-or-other teriyaki. I was too busy guarding my soup to sample their meals! Our server, Stephanie, was awesome! She greeted us right away, cheerful and smiling. She made great recommendations and knew details about the ingredients that were really impressive, like the little red peppers. I used to work here about a year ago and went on to work in other big name restaurants since. I can proudly say this is the cleanest and most structured restaurant I've seen and experienced. Their food is fresh and have no problems making allergy/ dietary modifications at your request. Plus, the staff is AMAZING. They really do care about your experience. Horrible service as to accommodating our reservation for a booth table inside. We arrived and nothing was ready. They tried to seat us outside in 52degrees weather. Zero effort until we balked at the BS table. The hostess and servers need a lot more training. They have not been though the correct way to run the tables efficiently or effectively. After we were finally seated the food took 25 minutes to get to the table. Crappy ambience. Loud and not smooth. Great food was the saving grace. Excellent server at the table. read more
