We went there today for Sunday brunch to celebrate my Dad's birthday. It's so nice to have a safe place for my family members allergic to gluten to eat. The food and service were both great! The only reason for not giving it 5 stars was the music. They had a DJ playing loud music the entire time. I mean LOUD ... like it was some kind of nightclub. This was a dude with a stand in the middle of the room, headphones, spinning records... A full on DJ. It was so odd. I don't understand the thought behind that at all. I just wanted to eat some eggs and hang out with my fam. It was not enjoyable for any of us and we had a hard time hearing each other. I felt bad for some of the older people there because I could tell they couldn't hear their friends either. We'll try it again because, like I said, everything else was great. Great service, but very overpriced for what it was. Expected more of a personalized vibe even though it's apparently a chain. The food was ok, slightly overcooked. All butter and jam in packets. Interestingly, the apparent manager came around and checked on all of the tables around me at least twice during my visit, but never stopped by mine once (maybe because I was traveling on business and was alone? I don't know. Odd, though.). All in all, felt like a slightly-better decorated meal from Denny's. Cost $20ish for simple egg breakfast & coffee with no extras. I don't recommend it. read more

Been here a few times. Middle of the road nice brunch place. You can bring Fido, which is good. Can be loud. Which is okay. The food is above average, so are the prices. Service is okay, regulars get all the attention. I am not one. Hard to park sometimes. Because of so many businesses and do few spaces. I am trying to sample every menu item to see if I'm nuts over anything. Not yet, still trying. It's a pleasant brunch spot to get tanked and bring Fido. That's my opinion. read more

Absolutely delightful dining experience was had at Tryst Cafe. The hostess was so welcoming and friendly. It's so nice to see people who seem to enjoy their work and have pride in service. The waiter was just as pleasant. We were checked on frequently. You could tell the staff knows the menu and feels confident in the quality of food they're serving. It's a great decor with an indoor/outdoor, bright, natural feel. So, as soon as you walk in you have great staff and ambience. The menu just adds to the pleasantness. My salad was huge. I was full but couldn't stop eating. The grilled chicken is flavorful and cooked to perfection. The fruit was fresh and tasty. The nuts are to die for. My friend enjoyed his food, as well. The sauce for the wraps was scrumptious. I can't wait to come back. It's great to have healthy food that actually tastes good. My vegan friend from Tucson made a great choice for his visit. Please Hire More Staff!! I have tried this place 3 or 4 times now with the same experience - there is NO STAFF! I have never seen more than one server working the entire restaurant. A bus boy also worked as a hostess, seating people at tables. I was in earlier this week, and the only one server was also the bartender. He took my drink order, never delivered drinks. I did get my food, but when I asked for dressing, it never came. The outdoor patio was filthy! The food is terribly overpriced. $17 for a burger and fries? It's not that good. This restaurant has SO much potential...but you've got to hire some staff, and a better Manager. read more

Tryst is a unique place to eat. Their menu has a slight twist that makes them that way. The food taste and quality was excellent. We tried the Hawaiian breakfast and the banana quinoa pancakes. The food was simply amazing so I can't hold the service against it. When the restaurant is slow and you still can't get service you know it's bad. However, the food was absolutely amazing. I had the tamales (plant based) and they were probably one of the best I ever had. I'm finding it easier and easier to maintain a Plant based lifestyle with options like this. Atmosphere - As a party of 5, we were kinda given a room to ourselves.  They have a weird wall that sits at the end of the dining area which does not attach to any other walls.  There was space for two tables back there.  So I did not get to take in much of the place other than entering and leaving. Food Drink - My quest for local beers continues, today I had a sour that did not make you pucker up.  Helton's Boysenberry Sour, a fruity drink with a little tang. Dinner - I had a burger last night, but their burger menu looks great.  My son had the sweet potato veggie burger which was open faced, which he enjoyed.  I had the Pork Adobo Tacos.  Do not let the habanero cream scare you as there was not much of a punch with it.  I wish there was a little more heat, but it did let the pork shine.  The pork was clearly the star and these tacos were packed with the pork.  Three massive tacos made for a very filling meal. Service - I dinged them for the first host.  I arrived right behind another party.  Not a word was spoken to me or anyone else in my party. Came here with a friend after we did a small photo shoot. This place is awesome, they have vegan options, super fresh and clean eats. Everyone was so nice and the server was so helpful. They have cbd options to add to your drinks which is great for me Ilove places that have this option. We happened on this after a walk at round Veteran's Oasis Park. We choose it because they are dog friendly. Awesome patio with options of tables or couch seating. We had three different things on the menu...Summer Rolls, Bowl with Jackfruit, and Strawberry Custard French Toast. All three dishes were top notch! The rolls were so fresh and full of veggies finely diced and came with a great sweet chili sauce. The bowl had jackfruit and quinoa and veggies and the most delicious seasonings. And the French toast was decadent and filled with a yummy custard. Also had a strawberry banana smoothie which you could tell was fresh made...had bits of green from the strawberry stems. The service was good, the food was very okay. I believe our server was Johnny and he was super friendly and helpful and did a great job, so I'd say that's the biggest thing to rave about here. Also, they had a rose kombucha on tap which made me happy, and overall have a healthy and diverse menu. With that said neither my dad really loved our meals. I had the Asian jackfruit quinoa bowl and it was just okay - not particularly strong in flavor, and I'm usually a jackfruit fan. My dad actively didn't like his fish and chips (although I did steal a few fries and those were good, the complaint was more on the fish). Maybe it was just not a good night? I'm not saying I wouldn't ever come back because it wasn't so terrible that I wouldn't give it another try, it just wasn't really impressive. Props to the good service though! read more

I've been here twice. The first time was good service, for dinner. The second time was for breakfast. A couple weird things happened- a server spilled milk on the floor and we left them know so nobody slipped and they just kind of nonchalantly said thanks. Then they forgot an order of strawberry French toast. Finally we asked for our bill and I think they forgot about us, we ended up asking another staff member and then finally got it like 20 min later. This has to be one of the worst dining experiences I've had in my life. First off, I waited at the hostess stand for at least 5 minutes before anybody even bothered to come see if I wanted to be seated. Upon sitting, our waitress gave us terrible service. I don't know if it was because I had asked for a gluten free meal, (I have celiac) and I bothered her by that... or because she woke up in a bad mood but she barely looked at us in the face or gave us the time of day. Her responses were curt and uncaring. On top of that, the food was not great at all and the coffee was so bitter that we could barely drink it (and my husband typically drinks black coffee.) Our waitress came back once for a drive by asking if we were good (again not giving us the time of day) and we eventually had to ask the bus guy to get our check for us. I had a terrible experience with this restaurant and I will never go back. I had a reservation that was made a month in advance for their room in the back for privacy and even put a $50 deposit so we could get this room. On the day of our event the manager called to confirm we were still coming and we said yes. Nothing was mentioned at the time that we could not have this room. We came in that evening and we were told they could no longer accommodate our request because a bigger group was coming for that room this evening. We told the manager just how unprofessional this is and all they could say is "sorry" We will never go back. They are out for a money grab and their food is overpriced and not that good. Tried Tryst for brunch for the first time over the weekend. The family enjoyed the food and atmosphere although the portions could be a bit bigger and the fruits a bit fresher. The kids meals were good but for the price could be a bit bigger portions. But I get it, to serve organic food price and portions has to be compromised. I did however enjoy the bottomless bellinis. Positives: enjoyed overall atmosphere and the large outdoor area that was in the shade. Breakfast items were fine but sounded and looked much better than they came out. Everything was kind of bland. Negatives: after 15 minutes of sitting at our table had to get service from the bar as a server never came. Breakfast potatoes came out rather mushy and flavorless.
