Yummy breakfast amazing pancakes some with a special twist fresh berries and whipped cream . I love the healthy eggs and big tea selection. Fresh coffee . Eggs any way you like family favorite here . Came here for breakfast over the weekend with my friend and we were both disappointed. The coffee was extremely watered down and the food wasn't so great. My friend got the western eggs and the fruit that came with it didn't even look like fruit - completely bland in color and taste. The Turning Point never disappoints! We have been to 5 of their locations and the only negative of them ALL is how they handle the crowds at check in. It's almost always a long wait, which is fine but there's always someone who jumps ahead because they know the hostess or something. We usually end up sitting at the counter. read more

I'm usually a big fan of turning point. Today though I was disappointed. I ordered a fresco bowl took a while to come had no flavor looked like slop and tasted very bland. I sent it back & then ordered a panini to go because at that point I didn't have time to eat at the restaurant. I got home and the bread on the panini was charred black. Came here for brunch today and was so happy with my meal. I got the chicken and waffles with the gravy on the side. I'm so glad that the waitress recommended to get the gravy on the side because I think it would've been too much for me if I didn't. Waffles were really light and the chicken was so crunchy. I went here many yers ago. The food was not bad then it was terrible. I left my plate,paid and walked out. I went there today because a close friend wanted to go. I ordered scrambled egg(shells in egg),bacon, toasted muffin (partially toasted),home fries.The home fries were basically under cooked. No good flavor. The eggs were not too bad the bacon were not too bad ,coffee was horrible. Weak and no sweet & low.(sign of a cheap place) Service was very good. I really wish it was easier to eat here I really do. The wait is always over and hour on the weekends and the service is slow. The food tho? Amazing....the Coffee? amazing. I had to ask for a menu as the hostess didn't hand me one. After ordering (acai crepes & green tea tropical), I had to retell my server what drink I'd asked for before receiving it. Then, I'm sitting there for at least a half hour as a couple of girls who came in after me got their orders. So I pointed that out to my server and asked about my food. He came back to me saying, "Someone closed out your ticket," and that my food had gotten cold. Next, (I swear to God) the crepes I received were the ORIGINAL ones reheated! I was so hungry at this point that I just ate them anyway. When I got my bill, I was charged full price for what I swear was old, cold, reheated food that was forgotten about. Never again. read more

You can't offer gluten free sandwiches on a gluten free menu and NOT offer gluten free bread! The option is eat a sandwich without bread or pay additional for cauliflower flatbread. Very disappointing....please be honest when you claim to offer gluten free options! read more

I love their food. Their menu consists of many healthy option that are still really good. I have tried their fruit market crepes, balanced breakfast combo, huevos blancos rancheros, and western omlette - never have I been disappointed. The food leaves you satisfied but not feeling stuffed or heavy. The one downfall is that this place can get packed/is usually packed. read more

Review for this location only...overall I'd give Turning Point as a concept 4 stars, but this location isn't as good as the other ones. I've been here many times over the years and the food is fresh like it is at all Turning Points, but there are some flaws with this location. The first one is it is frequented by rich housewives and spoiled young adults and the staff has a hard time controlling them. Case in point, wife and I were waiting at the register to put in our names behind another lady and multiple people go up the hostess's clipboard and start leafing through it to find their names. When the hostess returns, she makes no effort to figure out who was next and the people who were third in line started putting their name in until I stepped in and set things straight. We are told it would be a half hour for our table and it ended up being more like ten minutes, good thumb we didn't wander away. Waitress was nice and got order in quickly but food was slow to come out. I ordered the turkey chili and the food runner tries to tell me the spoon is on the plate as she spills the chili on the chips and sprints away. There was no spoon and no salsa like I asked for to have with my salad. I had to flag down the waitress to come to the rescue. Wife liked her salad and waitress hooked her up with an extra iced tea to go which was nice, hence three stars instead of two for this location. I'm going to stick to the Lawrenceville, Brick, Westfield, Holmdel, or Hoboken locations in the future when possible. read more

Turning Point has awesome breakfast. They have fresh squeezed orange juice, French press coffee, and a large variety of frozen drinks and milkshakes (like frozen hot chocolate). Their berry chocolatey pancakes and their skillets are very tasty. read more

The food was average, nothing special. Went on a busy day, waited forever, but that's not why I rated poorly. Wait staff was young and didn't know anything about the food. Just ate at the Turning Point in Manalapan yesterday and had a great meal. We have now been to all of their locations (also Hoboken) and are fans. I had the crabcake benedict, which is the most insane combination you can imagine. The wife had the no yolks about it omelet which our server said is one of their most popular items. There was a bit of a wait until we got sat but the quoted time was right on. As for Doc. B comment I doubt it was the owner ushering his friends by you because the server said he spends most of his time in the Long Branch store in the summer. The way I look at breakfast is I don't want to go to a diner or a greasy spoon for breakfast and I don't have enough money to go to the Molly Pitcher for their brunch so the Turning Point fits the bill perfectly. read more

I am a huge fan of breakfast and brunch spots, so I naturally love places like this. The setting is extremely adorable and fitting for a cute brunch. This is my favorite brunch place anywhere! I literally come here everytime I'm in town. The service is polite and friendly and the food is delicious! They offer a great selection of pancakes (including vegan pancakes!) and other breakfast/brunch staples as well as delicious salads and juices. And the coffee is excellent! Came here on a Sunday around 10a. Only waited 15 minutes for a table. As staff members walked in for work they were greeted happily by their coworkers. They looked like they get along and worked well together. It was nice to see young people working hard, working together and doing a great job. The restaurant was spotless and so adorable. So typically Turning Point is a favorite breakfast place. Usually everything is good. We went several weeks ago and I had a delicious latte for starters. Their menu is filled with some many great things but since I'm watching what I eat these days I ordered the "NO YOLKS" ABOUT IT OMELETTE which in theory should have been delicious but wasn't. For some reason the eggs tasted very funny to me. They were either from a carton, or powdered, I know this because I make egg white omelettes with real egg whites and they taste nothing like that. My fruit and english muffin were good though. My boyfriend got the BIG EASY BENEDICT and he described it as marvelous. The waiter was helpful in helping me choose between two dishes I was debating on (even if it wasn't good). We will definitely be coming back I will definitely be ordering something different so as not to have the egg white experience again. read more

Place is overrated and the staff up front is not helpful at all. They have two tables that can seat more than four people which is fine, but when you just sit patrons at both tables mere minutes before we arrive (they didn't even order their coffee yet), don't tell us 15 minutes to wait. We also watched them accommodate a party of two who complained about sitting at...surprise surprise...a table for two by giving them a table that fits four while the waiting area filled up with larger parties. The Turning Point is one of the best restaurants in the area for its price range. A place like this is hard to find in Monmouth County! The Turning Point is different from many of the typical diners and old breakfast places in NJ because of its fresh modern menu. My favorites are the skillets (the popeye skillet is incredible) and the hot drinks. The vanilla chai tea latte is particularly good, albeit rather sweet. Also, the dining room is absolutely beautiful in all Turning Point locations. They're all so clean and nicely decorated like a very well-kept home - so cozy and comfortable. Great place for kids, family, friends, or a casual date. Yes, it's crowded and you will probably have to wait, but if you call ahead and place your name on the list, you'll probably only have to wait 5 to 10 minutes or so (depending on party size, of course). However, I think that this is THE place to go for breakfast/brunch/lunch in Manalapan, and there's nothing else in the area that can compare.
