The weather and the setting definitely started this dinner with a positive outlook. We were a party of five, with three of us ordering different Taco alternatives. I requested the Shrimp, my wife asked for the Salmon and our daughter selected Filet Mignon. The flavor of all the Tacos was out of this world, as the ingredients and the sauces involved within those corn tortillas meshed together magically. I will say that paying $20 for two small tacos that weren't PACKED was a little bit of a RIP. The other two guests in our party went for two different types of Pizza. They both boxed a slice or two to take home. As sides, we had two orders of Truffle Fries and one of the Brussel Sprouts. Both were phenomenal but the veggies could have been more plentiful. To go with our dinners, my wife and I brought our own Meadowcroft GSM that generated two surprises for us. One was how great it accompanied what we ingested, the other was the $30 corkage on the bill. To round out the night out, my daughter shared a Sundae-Sundae with the other guests. Being able to get out to see new restaurants once a month is a gift, and most of what we experienced was a HUGE thumbs up. We just felt like what was provided in a casual setting was a little overpriced. This will not be on a future "to do" list.

Food was "American" style tapas - small plates of well crafted foods ranging from flatbread pizza to meatballs to vege pockets and (for me) a "Vegan Stack" composed of rice, mango, avocado, and a delicious spicy mayo. Tiramisu dessert disappeared in all of 20 seconds, well plated and beautifully crafted. You will not leave La Fe thinking to yourself "that was the greatest food I've ever had," but you may just leave thinking "this was the best time with my friends I've ever had" - and THAT is what this restaurant is for -- Bring your friends for a night on the town, bring your family for an energized reunion, bring yourself for a social time itch-scratching. You could tell she left the food in the kitchen too long as the tortillas were all soggy and breaking apart and the whipped cream on the waffle had melted!! Pork Belly tacos that were on a single tortilla, weird sauce on them that wasn't good, NO salsa, just a smattering of pico and some bad pickled onions. The pork had been deep fried as were the potatoes....YUK everything deep fried with zero flavor. Had to ask for some other corn tortillas as these were falling apart and they need to double up on the tortilla. Had to ask for salsa and that didn't even help with the taste. We also had a banana fosters' waffle that was soggy and just tasted like sugar. Not good. However the worst was trying to get service, trying to get our check to leave because we were both having to run to the head!! Yep....food poisoning AGAIN. Third time now. We spent the next hour in the bathrooms in the lobby before we could go home. By the time I reached my home I was throwing up. My husband said how in the heck do you get food poisoning from a waffle!! My server Jennifer was great to talk with about the wines, the owners, and the food. I enjoyed trying different cheeses along with a delicious Albariño wine. They had some fairly steady stream of customers, some were regulars and some were first-timers like me. Next time I will try one of the salads which I saw and it looked amazing.
