yommy! it straight up looks like a gentle monster store in here lol the interior design is cool especially because i am a silver/chrome girly xD got the next level matcha and cloud foam matcha -- both really nice and smooth and they gave me free stickers!
Got the jasmine milk tea and next level matcha. Both were superb! Interior gives gentle monster in a way and they have a high angle photobooth inside where you can take pictures while your drink gets made. Service was pretty quick as well, nice seating area inside. Parking lot is smaller but enough circulation to get a spot pretty quick!
It's been awhile since I last updated my review so I decided to this spot a second try Ordered Doordash since they were having a promo BOGO selected drinks! Got the Next Level Matcha Latte (30% sugar, regular ice with UG special milk) - $7.40 - I was pretty bummed how milky the drink was and how the matcha tasted quite subtle. In fact, I couldn't really taste the matcha at all. I was expecting high quality matcha since I read a lot of good reviews about their matcha but it didn't seem too exceptional. It tasted like a watered down milky matcha latte but it could be because I like my matcha more bitter and less creamy. I enjoyed it wasn't too sweet but it tasted too bland for my preference. Overall, I'm not a big fan of their matcha drinks but it was nice giving it another try.
I went at 11:30pm so about closing time. It was one of the few boba places open late, and they offered almost all drinks even that close to closing. The workers were so kind. I got the jasmine milk tea with floral tea jelly and the supreme hojicha latte. The jasmine milk tea was very okay...nothing special. The floral tea jelly was good. The hojicha latte was smooth and had a good flavor. The place is big but the parking lot is small. They had a little green photo booth in the corner. It is pretty good but expensive and the wait is usually really long because of the promotions they have.
I'm usually not a tea/coffee person but UG tea is an exception.Great ambience inside, order didn't take too long and overall is super spacious! Drink was sweet but not too sweet. Overall great experience.
A solid Taiwanese boba shop that's made it's landing hear in the oversaturated boba street in San Gabriel! UG's tea has a plethora of options for green tea/matcha options. It's great they have oat milk options to swap. So, a nice spot if you love floral teas! I personally love the barley/rice taste, so my go-to is the Rice Floral Milk Tea. Another great option is the Camellia Oolong Milk Tea - it's like you're drinking a flower! It's a huge space inside with a small adjacent lot. Really wish they didn't use fluorescent lights since the place feels too sanitary (not as cozy to hang out with).
I've been wanting to try UG Tea, the famous Taiwanese milk tea shop, ever since I heard they opened in San Gabriel. I missed them when they were temporarily closed a while back, but they are officially back and currently the trendiest spot in the SGV. The interior has a fantastic "new millennium" aesthetic that feels like a trip back to the early 2000s--they even have a giant iPod on the wall as decor! It's a great vibe for photos, and you'll see plenty of people using their onsite photo booth. My wife and I shared two of their bestsellers: the Next Level Matcha Latte ($7.95) and the Camellia Oolong Milk Tea ($7.00). The Next Level Matcha Latte is a must-try. You can really taste the quality of the 90% real Uji matcha, which provides a bold, earthy flavor balanced perfectly by a light, savory cheese foam top. It's only served cold, and it's excellent. The Camellia Oolong Milk Tea was equally impressive. It features a red oolong base with a lovely floral aroma that isn't overpowering. Per the staff's recommendation, I ordered it at 50% sweetness, which was a pro-tip--it kept the tea as the focal point and made for a very refreshing, lighter drink. Overall, UG Tea is the real deal. It's not just a hip, trendy atmosphere; they truly back it up with high-quality, delicious drinks. We will definitely be back!
I still remember when this location was Red Rose (a karaoke nightclub and gentlemen's club) before COVID, but now the space is taken over by UG Tea. UG Tea is a modern tea shop founded by the Taiwanese brand Sharetea Group. As of July 2026, this San Gabriel location is the only Southern California location; however, UG Tea also has locations in Houston (Texas), Tukwila (Washington), Richmond (California), Milpitas (California), and Bellevue (Washington). Apparently UG Tea will plant a tree for every 1,000 cups of drinks sold. [Parking]: There is a small designated parking lot and I have had no issue finding an available spot whenever I come here. [Atmosphere]: S-tier interior decor with the entire shop decorated in green from top to bottom. One side of the shop features a mirror decorated like Microsoft Paint on Windows 95 and another side of the shop has another mirror that looked like an old-school iPod. There is even a photo booth to take pictures.. [Ordering]: Customers order via a kiosk and the shop sends a text message when the drink is ready. There is also a monitor that displays the status of drink orders. My drink was ready in less than 5 minutes. [Menu]: Yelp's top recommended drinks are Next Level Matcha Latte, Camellia Oolong Milk Tea, Matcha Cookie Smoothie, and Jasmine Milk Tea. The shop offers three straws - trisip (recommended for milk tea), small straw (recommended for pure tea), and big straw (recommended for topping drinks). *** Next Level Matcha Latte (30% sugar, regular ice, UG special milk, 16 oz, $6.95): A very milky matcha latte, but I could still taste the matcha flavor. It was a fairly concentrated matcha drink and the UG Special Milk made it extra milky. The drink comes with 30% sweetness by default and the sweetness level tasted about right. *** A solid 4.5-star drink and bump up to 5-star for the trendy atmosphere. P.S. - If you still have room for more tea drinks, then the plaza across the street has four tea shops: Chicha San Chen, Auntea Jenny, ici Tea Drinks, and Macu Tea.
Stopped by Wednesday evening and I'll definitely be coming back! Yet another tea spot on Valley. They have their own building and a decent amount of parking. The interior has a lot of green everywhere just like the name implies, I thought it was unique . When I went in it was empty, but theres probably seating for 25-30 people? Service is fast, drink also came out super fast but not sure what the wait time would've been if it was really busy. Cloud Matcha Latte - 9/10 GASS MAN. Based off the concept I already had relatively high expectations. Off personal preference it's a perfect balance of matcha. it's not too bitter, nor does it just taste like straight milk. The cloud foam on the top is always a great touch.
YUM!! was not expecting much only cause there's so much competition around the area. but the peach camellia fruit tea was sooo good. very strong tea and fresh fruit flavors. i was also not expecting the interior to look like that but it was quite spacious with ample seating
I ordered through the FanTuan app and was able to get a $4 off coupon - I was able to get two regular size milk teas for $10. That's a steal in this economy!! I got two camellia oolong milk teas, both 50% sweet and less ice. This milk tea is soooo good. It's fragrant and deep while still tasting light and refreshing. It's so hard to describe, but I'm happy to have found a solid oolong milk tea. A lot of boba shops nowadays only do roasted oolong milk tea, and I don't like the flavor profile of that. Parking is super easy, though the entrance is a bit tight (can't easily fit a car entering and exiting, especially if one car's bigger than a regular sedan). Service was relatively fast - I ordered and was able to pick up within 30 minutes. I'll definitely be back to try other drinks like their matchas!!
Because I live in the Bay Area, any drink place from SoCal that opens up there is super packed and chaotic. UG just opened in Milpitas and it really intrigued me to try the place while visiting SoCal. Fortunately, this location was not as crowded for a Sunday afternoon. The place was an old bar and it seems to have kept some of that vibe but obviously, more aesthetic for the matcha girlies. Next Level Matcha: 4/5. It may have been me, but I'm always afraid to get drinks too sweet, so I lowered the sugar, which I think affected the flavor of the drink. It was decent! Matcha Cookje Smoothie: 5/5. There's a reason why it's one of the top drinks! I really enjoyed the matcha flavor paired with the Biscoff cookie! Delicious. I'll definitely be back to try other drinks because they have a lot of fun and cute drinks.
Crisp fresh and flavorful Price range is not cheap but worth trying. They even provide a to go bag for just 1 drink order. Nice!

Do you want to know what a tea store designed by Mugatu and Lacoste looks like? Want to feel like you're shopping at a Gentle Monster in Harajuku but all they sell are drinks and vibes? Do you feel like you should be pulling out your ID for a non existent bouncer to get into a highly exclusive lounge? Well, all of these experiences can come true when you visit this UG Tea. Design - Out of body experience When you enter the parking lot you see stanchions outside the entrance and you can hear the music as loudly as if you were passing by an H&M at the mall. When you walk in the stark color of white with pops of green hues smack you in the face. Are you cool enough to be here? Maybe. As you look around you see a giant silver blob standing right in the middle of the floor. Just past is a circle of seats surrounding a mossy hill. That same corner has a metallic photo booth where you can take pictures for a fee and put them on the walls. Soft art hovers on one wall with bench seating and strange metal ottomans to accompany the perimeter. Walking towards the counter you are greeted by a team of different baristas behind the counter. The digital menu lies right in front of you and it gives you a chance to visually see what you might be ordering. It feels strange because the motions on how to order a drink at a tea shop is normal, but you feel like you have a 87% chance of being on a reality prank show. Drinks - Beautiful and ephemeral The drinks look gorgeous both in picture and in person. UG Tea really nailed the aesthetics and the importance of visuals for their brand. The blueberry blizzard smoothie looked like a dream and when it came out, dreams come true. The taste is probably exactly what you think it is by looking at its creamy blue swirls with its milk like layers. It tastes like baby blue but in the best way possible. Even has a burst of sweet berry flavors when you finally reach the bottom. UG Tea also is known for their matcha, hence their use of green everywhere. They get their matcha from Uji, the region of Japan considered to source the best matcha in the world. I've never been a big fan of matcha but I think they makes a good quality one. It looks pretty at least and the taste was smooth with any bitter aftertaste. I wish I could tell you more but that's all I tried in this last visit. However, the drinks did make me want to come back and explore more of the menu. Just be mindful, the premium feel comes with a premium price. The blueberry blizzard slushie cost $8. Final Thoughts Sitting around made me feel like I needed to order a vodka tonic and perhaps start dancing a little bit. It feels very chic in their cafe although it feels more like you should be shopping for high end fashion than tea. If these vibes are something you find go well with your drinks than you should come down here and get ready to be indulged in so many ways. Just remember it is U G Tea and not pronounced "UGH Tea". read more

Situated between two other tea cafe powerhouses, this place offers some overlapping items but also stands out on its own for its unique branding. I got the camellia oolong milk tea, 70% sugar and less ice, and it was delicious. I'd probably go down one sugar level, and I like that they offer 6 levels. Their menu isn't quite extensive but it seems to offer a good variety. The drink had a good mouthfeel and pronounced tea flavor with a balanced sweetness. The drink was packed in a insulated bag, which is nice, but if they're focused on being "green" then they should probably offer it as an option since most customers will immediately take it out of the bag to enjoy and not use it again. The person at the counter offered a sample of orange tea that definitely tasted like it was made with fresh-squeezed OJ. I'm definitely intrigued to make another stop when I'm in the area. read more

Would I come back? Yes! For their tea, not their boba pearls. OVERALL: ‣ Super "Asian-sweet" -- ALL drinks come at 30% by default ‣ Tea = good ‣ Boba = not my favorite The "Gentle Monster" of Milk Tea There are so many boba shops in SoCal and in the SGV itself, there are well over 100 boba shops. UG Tea is incredibly popular in Taiwan and this is their first store ever in the US. I am well satisfied with their tea and the quality, but am quite disappointed by the boba pearls itself. In all honesty, if a new boba shop is going to open up, I think it's incredibly important to make sure the drinks are consistent and near perfect. Here's What I Got: Camellia Oolong Milk Tea: ‣ [9/10] ‣ Subtle floral flavor with the strong oolong. Surpassingly paired very well. ‣ [7/10] BOBA rating. One of the newest boba places in SGV! I'm always excited to try new boba places and this place has been on my list since they put the coming soon banner. They're currently in soft opening but I happened to go right when they open so my wait time wasn't too bad. FYI, their online ordering works and you can order through Fantuan as well. I ordered an orange jasmine tea with 50% sugar and regular ice, as well as some matcha lattes for my coworkers. My orange jasmine was very refreshing and I really liked the floral flavor from the jasmine tea. However, I do have a complaint against their lids. They didn't cap the lids on correctly and I didn't notice so my drinks spilled as I was driving. Luckily they were in a bag so it didn't make a mess in my car but I was pretty disappointed to see how much drink spilled. The bottom of the bag was stained green from the matcha. LA's newest IG-worthy tea spot just opened in SGV!! Unique Green brings Taiwan's floral tea culture into a futuristic, design-forward interior, it's basically the "Gentle Monster" of milk tea. I tried: Camellia Oolong Milk Tea which has a floral, creamy, elegant flavor Strawberry Hibiscus Fruit Tea had a refreshing, clean, tangy flavor The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly and the drinks came out efficiently. They have monitors which let you know if your order is ready and a nicely decorated interior and some nice seating areas around the space. A nice highlight is the selfie mirrors around the space as well as the photobooth you can use while waiting for your drinks! I can definitely see this place getting popular already so try it before there's lines out the door! They have a small dedicated lot just for the store, and even during the soft opening it was pretty full during the middle of the day. read more

Came for the soft opening and loved the futuristic interior design, well decorated, and surprised by the large space. Perfect place to meet up with friends after dinner. The photo booth addition was cute and a nice interactive touch Next Level Matcha Latte 70% sweetness: 5/5 - great drink, not even going to pretend I know how to describe this matcha but I personally know its not a bad one. Would definitely come back again for this matcha and try other drinks. The 70% was still a bit too sweet for my liking, will try 50% next time - Workers are super sweet!!! Stopped by UG Tea in San Gabriel today for their soft opening, and it was an awesome experience from start to finish. I had the pleasure of meeting some of the corporate team, who personally invited me to check the place out, so I decided to swing by and pick up drinks for my whole crew. The moment you walk in, the space feels clean, modern, and intentionally designed. The white, stone-like wall mixed with greenery and that big reflective centerpiece make the shop feel upscale but still relaxing. It's definitely one of the more unique tea shop interiors in the area; spacious, bright, and perfect for hanging out or grabbing photos. You can tell they put effort into creating a memorable environment. Even on soft opening day, service was warm and organized. Staff were friendly, enthusiastic, and ready to help. Considering soft openings can be chaotic, they handled everything with ease. The corporate staff were also super welcoming and clearly proud of what they've built. Great first impression overall. I ordered a full lineup for my team. Everything you see in the photos. We tried: * Matcha Cookie Smoothie * Cloud Matcha Latte * 15 Jasmine Matcha Cream Latte * Camellia Oolong Milk Tea * Peach Camellia Fruit Tea * Mango Rice Floral Fruit Tea Every drink was solid. Not the biggest fan of matcha but came with some friends and I worker recommended me their Orange Jasmine tea and wow it's amazing. I love the orange flesh with the drink making every sip refreshing. Even though like I said I'm not a fan of matcha, I am a fan of this tea and will come back just for it. The overall ambiance is very trendy, if I gotta say. I can see groups of friends drop by to hang out here and take pictures. read more

Came here with a family after lunch and this spot honestly surprised us in the best way. Plenty of seating, super spacious interior, bright and roomy so you don't feel cramped at all. Parking was actually convenient, which is rare around here. Tried a refreshing fruit tea that was not overly sweet at all, super clean taste, very "ahhh" kind of sip :) Also got a light milk tea that was tasty and felt kinda guilt-free, like you can actually finish the whole cup. Staff was Always good and super nice service, really patient with our questions. First of all I wanna say that this place has amazing service and the vibes are amazing, it feels like I am drinking matcha in the year 2042 where everything feels so futuristic. More importantly, the drinks, best matcha I have ever had, I tried the matcha biscoff and the soggy cookie flavor is amazing, it is such a pleasant mix and one I would have never thought I would have liked, I recommend!! Who ever running this place how to treat their employees, as once again, their service is impeccable and incredibly fast! Definitely gotta try this spot and I will be here again! read more

This spot is one of the coolest tea shops I've been to in the area. There's so many unique decor and super spacious. You can even take photos at the photo box! Depending on the day you go it can get really crowded or empty. If you don't want a super long wait I recommend going around the time it opens. As for the drinks, the matcha was pretty good but the peach camellia fruit tea was super yummy! read more

I swear they put something into these drinks because I am ADDICTED. I love the convinience of being able to order online before coming into the store. Its always so clean and nice smelling inside. Their baristas are always so fast paced and I've never had an issue with any orders here. Definitely reccommend trying their Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea with their tea jelly! read more
Wanted to get a drink on a Saturday night and stumble upon this place. I went around 9pm and was able to find parking right away. You can either order with the cashier or on their kiosk. There was no wait to order when I got there but it took a little over 10 mins to get my order because they had a lot of online orders. I got the hibiscus roast milk tea, camellia espresso, and matcha cookie smoothie. The sugar level for the hibiscus roast milk tea was defaulted to 30% so I went with what was recommended and thought it was the perfect sweetness. It was sweet enough but it didn't overpower the tea flavor. I was able to get the floral and roasted flavor. I like floral tea so I did enjoy this one but if floral tea isn't your thing, this drink probably isn't for you. This drink was also more tea forward than milky/creamy which I like. My boyfriend is a coffee person so he ended up getting the camellia expresso with the recommended sugar level of 50% and he also thought the sweetness was perfect. You can taste a nice balance of the tea and espresso. The tea in this drink is also a floral tea. My brother got the matcha cookie smoothie with the recommended 30% sweetness and thought it can be a little less sweet. I didn't try his drink but he thought it was pretty good but it got too heavy later on and they didn't have any smaller size. Some drinks only come with one size so I wish we can choose different sizes for all their drinks but I like how they have different milk options for free. We got all our drinks with their special milk. They also have a photo booth option which I thought was a fun idea to add to a boba place. read more
I feel that this boba shop has a lot of potential. First the location: the parking lot space is enough even when this spot is busy plus we get street parking as well for pickup and go! Inside the boba / tea shop has seats along the walls, very Instagram friendly and artsy. A modern take of greenery and patinated look inside the tea shop. The design team implements use of shapes and lights . Restroom ready inside. If the shop has more windows or glass maybe the lighting can be better? Second, the drinks we ordered : 1) Camelia fresh milk tea with oats x 2 2) peach green tea (comes with lychee jelly) x 2 and 3) passion fruit green tea x1. We had 4 people and we reached a consensus that the camelia milk tea has a definitive floral note and the undertones of the tea paired very well with the fresh milk . The fruit teas has a tea that allows for "回甘" in mandarin it means it is a quality that good teas possess that allows the drinker to want one sip after another. The small pieces of peach and lychee pairs well together. Small chunks of fruit makes me feel I am drinking something worth of my time and the peach flavor is distinct. Passion fruit tea was okay. Maybe give this place another try until the owner and the shift leaders figure out more efficient ways to serve drinks and queueing orders. With new boba places, returning business is important. So be patient with them as they figure things out. read more

Dropped by this tea house in San Gabriel after a friend hyped it up, and it totally delivered :) The interior is bright and roomy with a spacious layout and plenty of seating, so it's great for photos and just hanging out with friends. I tried a refreshing fruit tea that was not overly sweet, super clean and crisp. Also got their unique matcha latte -- rich, creamy, with a subtle sweet aftertaste that kinda sneaks up on you. The drinks are delish! It's so sweet and tastes aromatic and rich. Our cashier was Sabrina and her service was amazing! Super nice, patient with our questions, and honestly made our orders so tasty. the jasmine matcha was strong and floral. I adjusted the sweetness level down to 50% which was perfect for me. the matcha cream was rich but I would've preferred a stronger matcha flavor as all I tasted was jasmine. the rice mango tea was surprisingly good. you can really taste the rice flavor through the mango and the drink slightly reminded me of mango sticky rice. read more

Came here with a friend after dinner and honestly it's such a chill spot to hang out. Convenient parking in the lot, then you walk into this bright and roomy tea house with a super spacious interior and plenty of seating, so we didn't have to hover for a table. I got the light milk tea and it was tasty and guilt-free, super easy to finish without feeling heavy. Friend ordered the Super yummy Ceylon mt and kept saying how smooth it was lol. Also tried a sip of their matcha latte - really unique, rich with a sweet aftertaste, kinda addictive. Refreshing fruit tea too, not overly sweet, which I love. The unique photo sticker machine for check-ins is such a fun touch, perfect for photos and just chilling with friends. Would totally come back :) read more
This is definitely one of my new favorite drink spots in the sgv! Service was super quick and helpful. I ordered the matcha cookie smoothie and was worried it would be too sweet, but it was the perfect balance of sweet/earthy! I came on Friday morning right after opening. The interiors decor's green theme and art installations make this a unique experience. The person I met up with did warn me about the sweetness levels, so I ordered a Next Level Matcha Latte at 10% with oat milk. I do think that the sweetness levels should better reflect sweetness since I felt it was a tad bit too sweet for me. While they were busy fulfilling orders, we got our drinks pretty quickly. I enjoyed my latte, but it didn't wow me persay. I'd return to try some of their other matcha offerings. read more
overall (3.7/5): Might come back when it's less busy to try their other drinks. not sure if the drinks were worth an almost 4 hr total wait. drinks: we did the BOGO offer for the next level matcha and the camellia oolong milk tea. both drinks were standard but I prefer stronger matcha and tea flavor. both weren't too sweet and u can adjust the sugar and ice levels. service: we went during the reopening event with bogo. it was super busy. we were within the first 200 guests in line so they gave free promo items. the line was out the door and around the corner to Motto tea cafe. one of the staff said it would be 30-45min wait when we were outside Motto but we ended up waiting outside for around 2.5 hrs before ordering. they did offer water after we waited around 1.5 hrs. since they were super busy it did take around 40-60 min for our 4 drinks to come out. they did forget two of our drinks but they did make it for us within 20 min. ambiance: since it was the reopening event it was super busy. inside is cute tho with plenty of seating. they have a photo booth which they said they normally charge $12 for but during the event it was free if u follow them on instagram and give a good review on google or yelp but their instagram during promos said the booth was free if u make a purchase and tag them on a story. they did have a live DJ and plenty of photo spots. read more

While there is still a lot of hype, I recommend ordering ahead maybe like thirty minutes beforehand. Tried the Jasmine Espresso as I have never had anything like it before and enjoyed it! They have really cool interior design but not a place to sit down and do work in. Tea is decent quality, but not sure if it's any better than any other tea shop like Molly Tea or HeyTea. read more
