We were skeptical about this place because it had one yelp review lol It looks like this place is pretty new. Despite the fact that it was sat dinner, there were only two other tables occupied. We ordered sashimi combo and it was actually very good! Compare to other korean sashimi places where I tried similar combo, this place has really good food variety, quantity, and price. Also all the seafood were very fresh! I particularly loved uni!

Love the selection of alcohol. So far, I've only had nigiri. Highly recommend their tuna nigiri sampler. I got a couple of pickled things and salads and they were amazing. Squid salad goes crazy. Cannot wait to come back and try the fried foods.

**June 2026: Saturday Afternoon Visit**…read more I regularly visit the Yama in Alhambra and usually pick up salmon, yellowtail, and tuna sashimi, so I was excited to try this Los Angeles location since it offers bento boxes. I ordered the Yama Sushi West LA Bento Box Classic California ($18.49) and also added a salmon nigiri sushi a la carte to share ($19.49) since I'm a huge fan. The bento box was more than enough food, and I even had leftovers, which made it feel like an especially great value for the price. The bento box came with a Yama California roll, a refreshing somen noodle salad, and a generous serving of hot chicken katsu making it a really balanced meal. Everything felt priced appropriately for the quality and assortment, and I appreciated that it offered a healthier, more diverse lunch option. The market has a couple of two top tables inside and outside, plus a clean bathroom, which made the visit comfortable. Parking was okay. They have a small lot available for patrons. Overall, I'd definitely come back for another good, healthy meal.

It was busy inside but still got seated without waiting. Insane quality of fish not one single item I ordered had an off taste. The fast that my spicy mayo and ponzu was full when I left goes to show how insanely well they prepared the food sauce wise. Overall great place I will be back to try more things for sure. All this food double the salmon roe and scallop sushi because it was that good I had to go for round 2 but all this for 80$ was insaneeeee!!!!! And of course leave tip lol. For sure coming back!

Small parking lot outside for free or street parking, was able to find a spot in the lot. Dine LA deal: Miso soup- standard, nothing special. Came out piping hot which I appreciate Salad- dressing could have been more ginger-y Salmon snow crab: favorite dish of the night. The truffle flavor worked so well with the crab and salmon. Crab was fresh. We did not receive the courses in order as listed on the menu, not sure if that was intentional, but it was no problem with us. 8 pc sushi- staff didn't tell us what fish were given that night, which would have been helpful. Each fish was good quality, no sinew. Rice was cooked well Mini toro bowl- comes with seaweed to make DIY hand rolls. The seaweed was crispy and not chewy, which I always look for when it comes to hand rolls. The shiso leaf and radish was a good compliment Potato puree uni- it looked like to would be sweet potato puree, but it tasted like normal potato. The puree itself was plain and needed more flavoring. I think sweet potato puree would go well with this actually. The uni was delicious Kushiyaki- the shiitake was delicious, cooked well and juicy. The meatball was plain, a bit salty, nothing special. Chicken thigh was fine Blue crab hand roll- worst dish in the set. The crab tasted old, it was not nearly as good as the crab in the salmon roll. We didn't finish it. Dessert- scoop of either green tea or sesame flavor. Came a bit melted, flavor was weak. Not included in Dine LA: House white wine- generous pour which I appreciated! $8 Onion albacore: delicious, onions were crispy, fish was good quality, sauce was delicious and had onion flavor Overall I would definitely come back for the sushi. The quality of the fish is great and they offer affordable sets.

All well mannered and you just feel welcomed there. It's a goof feeling because diners today don't deliver a good experience anymore, esp in LA. Robert, one of their servers, was super hospitable, and made some solid off the menu recommendations. Tiger, the manager, is also super kind, and always heard me out my requests, like putting quayle eggs on my sea urchin. I am a self-described sushi snob, and have made a point to go to the top spots. I am a regular in Little Tokyo, including Sushi Takeda. But the most important thing I have learned, just like movies and music, is that there is no one single best sushi place. The vibe is awesome inside; there's lofi playing at a nice level and the lighting is beautiful. It feels like an elevated experience right when you walk in. We didn't wait long as it was a Sunday afternoon, and our waitress was so helpful in deciding what to order (the menu is extensive!). We got the baked scallop roll, the crunch spider roll, and the Baja California roll. All three were amazing!!!! We also got spicy tuna crispy rice and the gyoza to start. I am not joking when I say they were the best restaurant gyoza I've had in Los Angeles. Juicy, warm, nice golden crisp on the bottom, and flavorful filling. The baked scallop roll was my personal favorite of the three; it was warm and savory, with an excellent bite from the juicy scallops. It was a great contrast to the Baja roll, which is cold and has crunchy elements to it. And the spider roll was one I didn't expect to like (my boyfriend wanted it), but ended up being my second favorite! The soft shell crab flavor is deliciously salty and pairs great with the surrounding flavors. I'll definitely be back for more!

4/27/2026 SHOYU…read moreRAMEN Deliciously addictive shoyu broth! Made with organic chicken broth and house dashi. The broth was deep, rich in flavor, yet not heavy. I could have drank the broth by itself! The ramen was wavy and thin and very slurpable. I wish it was slightly more chewy, but it was still good. The chashu pork was tender and juicy. Given half of the seasoned egg, which was soft and jammy. Perfect! Too bad they gave only half of it. Bamboo shoots and scallion were added as well Really enjoyed this ramen and would order it again! BLACK SESAME CREME BRULEE This was good, but the serving bowl was shallow and the portion was small. Strong black sesame flavor and the brulee top was crunchy with a lovely caramelized sugar, as expected. The one disappointment was that it was not custard that was served, but sesame cream. It was as though they added black sesame paste and whipped cream together. Then added the bruleed top. CUSTOMER SERVICE I was there for lunch on Monday. It wasn't busy nor crowded either. Only one server working. Everyone was already seated and eating. Since I was the only one that has not been served yet, the service was quick. Server was straight to the point too. She did check back during my meal, which was good. Given my experience, I would return to try other items on the menu. But most likely return to order their Shoyu Ramen again. PARKING It is a medium-sized parking lot that is shared with other businesses. Parking is free. They had a valet sign at the front, but there was no valet available during the day. I didn't have trouble finding parking, but I got lucky, as it was packed by the time I got there. There were maybe 1-2 other spots available, but they filled up quickly.

Solid 4 Stars for the Yuzu Shio Ramen & Incredible Service…read more Parking: If you're coming on a Sunday, just heads up that the lot is entirely valet. Skip the fee and look for street meter parking instead--it's free on Sundays. The Food: Yuzu Shio Ramen (5/5): Absolutely delicious. If you want a break from heavy tonkotsu broths, this is light, clean, and incredibly refreshing. The noodle texture was spot on (not too soft), and it came with four tender chashu slices with a nice hint of char, plenty of bamboo shoots, and a good amount of green onions. The half soft boiled egg was also delicious. Blossom Roll (2.5/5): This sounded amazing on paper, especially since I love yuzu and it was supposed to feature both yuzu and yuzu kosho. It did, and I like the subtle hint of it. Unfortunately, I ended up focusing too much on the sushi rice itself, which had a noticeably starchy texture and a light rice fragrance that wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasn't good either. It just made me question how they prepared it (maybe the rice wasn't washed? It almost reminds me of a risotto). Overall, it just wasn't as enticing as expected. Service: 10/5 stars! The service here is truly fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Tai Spicy Miso Ramen but realized after a bite that the flavor profile wasn't for her. Even though the menu description was accurate, our waitress was incredibly sweet and swapped it out for a Yuzu Shio Ramen instead. Truly amazing hospitality. Ambiance: They play house music in the background, which sets a decent vibe, but there was a distinct chemical/cleaning product smell in the air when we walked in. It wasn't Pine-Sol, but it was a bit off-putting. Thankfully, it didn't interfere with the food but if you have a sensitive nose, this might bother you Verdict: I'd definitely come back if I'm in the mood for ramen and am in the area.
