Man! We had the best time last night at Umami! We traveled in specifically to grind some sashimi and sushi. The food was amazing! Everything was fresh and hit all of our taste buds. The location is so much better than the other one but it does get busy. But let me tell you, even though it was busy the wait time was just spot on. We waited about 90 mins to get seated but we understand that it was a Friday night so we were okay to wait. When we were seated we were automatically greeted by our service. His name was Christopher and I would highly recommend requesting him to be at your service. He was attentive, accurate and just made our whole dining experience amazing we will be back and we will be asking to sit in his section. Trust me you won't be disappointed with the him as your server. It's always a better experience when the food is on point and your server is top notch. This little sushi spot is great, every area was spaced out just right, and you can see everything being prepared. Which is a plus! All in all I give this place a 10 out of 10. The wait for this place on a Wednesday night was ridiculous over an hour for 2 people, but with great reviews I figured it was worth the wait. The staff was great friendly and helpful. The place was packed which is always a good thing it means to me that the place is well liked. Now to the food overall the nigiri were ok nothing great but wasn't horrible just the norm as other sushi places. The helper occasionally gave us the wrong dish or brought our dish to another table which is ok since they were busy I can understand getting it wrong. The only reason I gave this place a 4 star is because of the service which brought it from a 3 to a 4. The food itself is only a 3 star. Great place to go to for AYCE. The wait is super long on weekends, sometimes up to 30min-1 hour and a half wait to get seated.

This visit was perfect!! Christian was our server and he was friendly and polite. He made sure we got all our rolls. It was busy, it always is, but it is worth the wait. We only had to wait 20-25 minutes. Not horrible. I always consider this a good sign that a restaurant is good if it is always busy and you have to wait just a little bit. One of my go to spots when hanging out with the girls. Make sure to come also for their late night special on the weekdays after 9pm they have a special menu for all you can eat at a lower price. They are always so inviting and quick to come get your order. One thing that stands out from other places is their Nigiri/fresh fish. There isn't a limit like other places that only allow you 2-4 orders. My favorite roll is the no name, Mexican roll and, call 911 roll. The food and the promptness of delivering the food on our table is great. However, they started charging a 3% service fee if you use any type of card payment on top of an automatic gratuity of 18% for a party of five or more. This is not a best practice for a business to charge the customer a fee to use their card and force to pay 18% gratuity if you have a party of five or more because then it turns to be a double dipping, and it will hurt the employees and customers. They should implement one or the other. If the owner is not able to pay their merchant fees, then they should just not accept credit card as a form of payment and don't penalize their customers. I had expressed this concern to a manager, but the manager says that this is something that they can't do anything about it. read more

I'm super picky when it comes to sushi and I would honestly rate this place right in middle. The inside of the place is very cute and nicely set up inside. My only issue was with our server. I forgot his name but he was very nice, there was a bit of a language barrier so I don't know if he misunderstood us or the other way around. It's an AYCE menu but we kept getting the wrong orders. He was kind enough to put the correct order in but it happened 3 times while we were there. I got pretty full from eating the incorrect orders that were brought to our table. I'm going to give Umami four stars even though I was a tad underwhelmed with the experience, but I'm mostly underwhelmed because I live right near China Town and even though it was not worth the 30 minute drive, the food was still good. I came to Umami last Sunday night because I was desperately in need of some all you can eat sushi and since I'm leaving Las Vegas in less than a year, we figured we would start eating at the places on our "must eat" lists before we go. We showed up around 6PM and added our names to the wait list. Once on the list they text you when they have an open table and it took around 15 minutes, which is pretty standard anywhere in the city at night. Once called and seated, the menu here looked almost identical to Sushi Neko and Neko Supremo, including the way the menu is laid out and the items suggested, so I don't know if this place is affiliated with the others, but it sure looked it. I'm not going to break down every single thing I ate because I start rapid fire ordering random nigiri rolls and can barely remember half of what I ordered. I ordered a lot of different rolls and nigiri and every single thing I ate was good, well put together, and thanks to a large amount of options, this is definitely a top notch place to go if you live in the North West area of the city. Overall, The sushi tasted fresh, the service was pretty efficient, and the place looks pretty cool as well. Would I come back here? Probably not, but only because I live seconds away from Spring Mountain and have a ton of identical quality places super close to me. Been wanting to try this AYCE sushi spot out, but it's a little out of my direction, but was enticed with the high reviews. To start with the price, I didn't love that Friday lunch time counts as "weekend regular price ". It's pretty standard to all of the other price for dinner. Their selections is pretty good and they offer a lot of the "one time orders" and no rice rolls which are my favorite. Service towards the middle got a little sparse and we had a very hard time tracking someone down to put in our second round of orders as our server somehow disappeared. On our first round there were a couple missing orders that were never put through so there might've been a miscommunication. I'd say this is a smaller restaurant , so if you come at a peak times be prepared to wait. The quality was one of the better sushi places we've been to and their menu clearly categorizes each roll so it's easy to find what you are looking for. A couple standouts that you should order are the salmon belly, salmon Kama, Kalbi, dancing eel, q roll, sushi poke. The hamachi Kama was one that I didn't love because it was dry and had a ton of bones. You always have to end off with their ice cream (ube is my the best flavor in my opinion). I'd return back if I'm in this direction for the lunch special price at an odd hour to avoid the crowds. read more

My husband and I came for lunch for our anniversary, it was both of our first time. The restaurant itself did not disappoint! Omg I left there literally stuffed. Our server Leland, was amazing. His timing in between our orders were on point, coming from a server point of view - his customer service, attentiveness and knowledge of the menu were all key points that I look for everytime I'm dining out. Umami is a staple restaurant. I've gone here with groups of friends, my children, and even date night. Not only is the food delicious & served fast, but the service is great. It's an AYCE so as quickly as you're finishing your meals, the staff are clearing your table for more room to enjoy yourself. The noise level here is not bad at all, you can hear your partner from across the table and the decor is very nice. The yellowtail, cucumber salad, and the $#!+ stay on rotation throughout my dining experience here. read more

My family had come here once before and when I visited I decided to try it as well after seeing pictures. I had high expectations after my family's experience and I was not disappointed. I originally wanted to come during their lunch hour since I noticed it was $4 cheaper however I failed to notice that it was only Monday through Thursday only and we had came on Friday. Nonetheless, the experience was great! Got to the restaurant and was immediately seated with waters . Once seated, we were greeted quickly and not even 5 minutes after ordering we received our food. My personal favorites were the California Rolls and Dragon Rolls. We did about 5 rounds before we had gotten full. The dessert was ice cream and I had the coffee one and it was probably the best coffee flavored ice cream I've ever had. read more
