The parking lot was packed and our wait was about an hour and I could see why. The overall atmosphere was lively. I really liked the outside seating option. The food was okay. I love a good fish and chips. Whenever I see that on the menu, 9 times out of 10, I'll get it. It wasn't too bad. Not my favorite fish and chips I've had. Forever in search of new brews! a quick search of breweries near me on this visit to Plano served me well. Great list of local brews. Great spot that we happened to stumble upon as we were in the area. I loved the selection of craft beer they make as well as the taps available from local breweries. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Available indoor and outdoor seating. It was too warm for us to sit outside but I will add they had misters. The interior is well spaced and decorated for customers enjoyment. We did a flight of their beer $8 to get a good taste on their range for brew. All were very well liked except of for the Imperial Ipa it was a bit too strong for me. As for the Oktoberfest, I could not help myself, I just had treat myself to an autumn beer which turned out to be so good! I then switched to their Fiestbeir which was a tad lighter than the Oktoberfest but welcomed in flavor. My glasses of beer were $6 My partner ordered the old fashion $14, the balance of the ingredients was enjoyed. it was not overly sweet. As an appetizer we ordered the pretzel bites. $9 We were a bit confused, these were more garlic knots than pretzels. Had a frustrating experience at Union Bear today. Despite it being nearly 90 degrees out, a staff member closed our umbrella while we were still mid-meal due to 'high winds.' the pizza wasnt spicy enough- it was actually quite sweet but if you like that then its pretty good my chicken sandwich was amazing! so flavorful and spicy!! would come back just for that watermelon cider was awful. god awful. so bad that i couldnt drink it. i NEVER leave behind a whole cup of alcohol on account of how expensive it is but i couldnt take it. it tasted like the most plain beer ever with the aftertaste of a hint of watermelon the cheese dio was pretty good but you get SO little for what you pay for The pretzel bites were really surprising because they tasted nothing like pretzel. It was just regular bread tasting with cheese, which wasn't bad, but it did not taste like pretzel at all. The fish and chips were actually really good and if I ever had to come back here, I would probably get that or the chicken sandwich service takes a WHILE. about 10 -15 minutes just to have someone come to the table to take drink orders. the inside is really chill and a little dim which is nice. definitely gives great date spot vibes overall, the food isn't great and it's not my favorite spot, but I would come back here. My family stopped in for a bite and to relax, after a day of exploring. We were able to sit on the back patio while waiting for our table. It was comfortable and a great break from the hot weather. All were good & appealed to everyone at the table. My entree today was the Monte Cristo flatbread. It was outstanding! My daughter had the Woodsman flatbread & it was good too. ATMOSPHERE: Casual, laid back. Good place for a date, business lunch and even to bring the kids. They have a fire pit and a deck, but both times, the weather wasn't cooperating! SERVICE: This is where they shine. From the hostess, wait staff, bartenders to bussers--they all give off the vibe they are happy to be there. How refreshing! I love the Denton locations pizza (please do it at the Plano location)! I do wish the Plano location was a bit larger, but that's not something they can control. Can here for brunch with a friend. There are a lot of drink, food, and brunch options. The restaurant has an industrial vibe and is nicely decorated. The service was prompt and fast. Food was OK, Fish and Chips, kinda greasy with minuscule French fry bits and not much of them along with non-factory chopped fresh coleslaw that was probably the best part of the plate, or paper lined dog pan as it were. I do appreciate a beer place that has brew descriptions and that includes the actual price of the various pints. So sad to go to places that offer priceless brews for how proud they are of the fact they have a microbrewery that they don't feel obliged to say their pints cost 8 and 9 bucks served by servers whose middle name is I-dont-know. I've walked in from the water trail side in the past which is much preferable to thrashing for a parking space on the north 121 side. And coming from the parking lot you get the awkward wait and conversation from the greeters or whatever they are which ask you for how many are in your party only to make you stand there awkwardly for another minute or three to tell you that you can find a seat "at the hightop" when you state the obvious you are a party of one. They didn't seem to know why they were there other than to detain people walking through the door. At first there was some unintelligible communication as a guy ran off into the restaurant and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to chase after him for my seating, but he turned out to just be a server who was having a personal conversation with the hostesses and not a functional interaction for the actual customer other than a confusing distraction. So come on foot and through the south door from the patio because the front side Valley Girls don't appear to know why they are there. They did give me a menu after I asked twice though, so not a total loss and thank you girls. The sports on the screens are a decent mix of rerun games, but this is not to be confused with being a sports bar. read more

Union Bear is a locally owned brewery & restaurant that brews their own beer. It's located on The Boardwalk in Plano, TX and I highly recommend stopping by for brunch. Apparently the UB Cinnamon-Sugar Pretzel Bites are very popular for brunch as I noticed that practically every table on the patio ordered them. My sis ordered the honey pig flatbread. It consisted of spicy salami, fresh mozzarella, torn basil, chili flakes, local honey. Her only complaint was that they were a little heavy handed on the honey. It was my cheat day so I splurged on the fish and chips with salt and pepper fries. The fish was properly cooked, but it definitely could have used some seasoning. On a brighter note, the mimosas were perfectly crafted with 95% champagne and 5% juice, just like I like it. Overall, my experience was pleasant and I'll definitely return. read more

Also waited over 20 minutes for a server to even come to the table. Nobody even acknowledged us. Several waiters walked right past us as well as the manager. Highly do not recommend this place. Several waiters were on their phones. We were looking forward to trying this place but will not be back. Food is subpar not worth the price. Christian from the bar was fantastic. This is a great brewery and family restaurant inside of granite Park. They have a great list of beers that they brew locally. They also have a happy hour menu and a kids menu. This is THE spot in the Plano area for a HH after work. You can't go wrong with any of the beers, cocktails, or appetizers/entrees on the menu. I highly recommend going here on a day where it isn't too hot and sitting outside. You get a great view of the water out front with some great service across the board as well. If you can time it correctly, try to come in for the weekday social hour between 3PM-6PM or the late night HH every day 9PM-Close. You can score some pretty sweet deals. My personal favorite HH items are the UB Blonde and the Chips and Queso. I will say if you're going to come here, try calling ahead for a reservation or see if you can waitlist because this place gets packed pretty quickly. read more

Balanced amd flavourful, not bitter, not light or heavy it was just delish, wish I would've only order that one instead of the flight the others beers were good too: blonde ale,amber ale and west coast. Food was good kids chicken tenders were lightly breaded crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside seemed pretty fresh and not the yucky hard thick breading so many places have. The elote brisket flat bread was yummy full of flavors only thing the middle section of crust was soggy but the flavors were still good wish the whole flatbread would have been crispy it would have made a huge difference. Louisiana style chiccharons were fairly, light ,crispy, warm and had the right amount if kick without being overwhelming. Staff was super friendly prices aren't crazy either. We had such a fun time last night at Union Bear with our party of 8. We had reservations and got in fairly quickly. Our server was lovely and very accommodating to our needs, she moved with urgency, refilled drinks promptly, and made sure everything was correct with our orders. The place is decorated beautifully and has wonderful ambiance with it's low, warm lighting. Floors and tables all appeared clean. Food was delicious all around, our table ordered their beloved brussel sprouts as a side and a bunch of flat breads and fish and chips! No complaints from anyone.
