I dined here for the first time yesterday with one of my roommates. We didn't order a pizza, but instead chose a Hombre calzone (ground beef, mozzarella cheese, onion, jalapeno and black olive) and spaghetti with meat sauce. I was impressed with both - the bread for the calzone (which was partially open on the top, so that all the ingredients could be seen) tasted and looked home-baked and the ground beef was juicy and flavorful, as was the meat marinara sauce that accompanied the spaghetti. The garlic bread that came on the side was also tasty and perfectly done. And the prices were reasonable (the calzone and the spaghetti were each $8 or less), so overall thumbs up. The pizza is pretty pricey though - $25 and up for a large with a few toppings, and $18 for one with just cheese and sauce - ouch! read more

Well this place used to be my one of my favorite places for good pizza and service. Well tonight I was there about 8:30 and the place was moderately filled. Ordered a coke and small pizza. Coke machine needed canisters to be filled so was told they would bring it to me, never happened. Once was enough. The setup is confusing if you haven't been here before. The pizza was okay. Compare to hospital cafeteria pizza. The first pitcher of beer we got was flat. The large salad is supposed to feed 2/3 people... lots of lettuce and cheese, 4 carrot sticks, 2 pieces of tomato and 3 pepperoncini. Crust was thick and chewy, sauce wasn't that great and lacked enough cheese. The toppings were good. Prices were on the high side. This place didn't prove worthy for a return trip. We have eaten here twice. The pizza is "warm" but not oven hot because they don't deliver it when it comes out of the oven. On both occasions, we had to go up and remind the staff that we were waiting on our pizza. Their response, " It's coming out now". Other customers did not seem to have the same issues. I came here on a Sunday with my family at about 1:00PM and it was "closed for maintenance." Can't they do maintenance when the restaurant is closed? Aside from that, I have been here several times and the pizza is inconsistently good. When you come here it's hit or miss. I've gone a couple times where the pizza and cheese bread were REALLY good, but other times I have gone in to have my cheese fall right off of my slice leaving me with bread. If this place was consistently as good as my first couple of trips here I would rate it 4 stars, but minus a star for being inconsistent with their food quality and minus another star for being closed during lunch time. read more

This place is hands down the best pizza joint in the desert! Ya sure California Pizza Kitchen is down the street, but this is a local joint and I'm all for supporting a local place! I've been coming to Upper Crust for ages(since jr. high) and when we have a craving for some good quality pizza, you can't beat Upper Crust! The crust is perfection to me!!! It's substantial, right amount of crustiness and chewiness and the sauce melds perfectly with whatever toppings. As if the pizza wasn't enough they actually make good hearty lasagna, calzones and hot stuffed sandwiches. If your ordering a salad and if you like italian dressing, don't forget that here! It's super tart and zesty and has a good bite, it will get you right there(you'll know what I mean, if you get it)!!! A small salad is perfect size for 2 people! Don't forget to chop up the pepperoncini into your salad! If your a ranch dipper don't forget to ask for that, it's extra and sure it's a bit on the watery side, but I tell ya.. it's still delicious! If your super hungry, I highly suggest ordering a garlic cheese pizza bread, it is over the top delicious! It's just super cheesy goodness and yummy dipped in some of that ranch! If you like sopping wet pizza crust, undercooked and chock full of tasteless cheap ingredients and tons of sauce and low fat cheese that doesn't melt - you've found your place. If you love tasteless meats and bland dressing on Antipasto salad, and garlic bread that has the texture of weightless cardboard, you should run here. Spaghetti drowning in flavorless sauce helps hide the dry pasta to a certain degree. This is a place that thrives on saving money and it shows.
