This Post Office is as bad as it could be. Pretty much every time they misdelivered our and neighbors mail. My neighbors moved out, but they still continue delivering their mail completely ignoring forwarding mail they asked for already a few times. Arrived at 1215 on a Saturday to ship off a package to my brother currently deployed in Iraq. While there was a line, it moved swiftly as three Asian women in their 30's staffing the counter dealt with the backlog efficiently. I completed my customs form after my arrival off to the side. I was hoping there would be a scale as there sometimes is, however despite the big location, there was no scale. I jumped in line after the form was completed, and after several minutes dropped my package off in front of the teller. As I told her, here is a package going to an APO, the custom form is filled out except for the weight and here are 2 already stamped letters to mail out (there was no immediately visible mail box in the post office so I gave them to the teller instead). 1 minute later she filled in the weight, stamped the custom form, stuck it on the box, I paid in cash and was on my merry way. Hassle free really except for the lack of a scale (not a big deal though as the line was moving) and they weren't accepting debit/credit card transactions that day for whatever reason. Not a big deal for me to ship a box flat rate @ $12.50 but that may rub others the wrong way. Finally, compared to my local post office on College & Ashby, the line flew by quickly due to having more staff and parking was a breeze compared to the College location as well. All in all, I'm very happy with this branch and would come back for my daily mailing needs in a heartbeat if only I lived nearby.. read more

I hope they fire all the employees in the counter and bring some smiling face or at least some one looks at be customer and values the business. I'm only giving it an extra star because there is a woman there who every now and then is nice. But the man who clearly is a govt worker only in his mind is not so nice. If I ask about stamps and different kinds - don't get ornery with me. Why the hell would the USPS create cute and different stamps if y'all didn't want us to buy them. Have a friggin book out that has a sample of all the stamps so I don't have to ask "What about this one, or that one?" I'm gettin so hot and bothered now just typing this that I want to drop the score! Still the worst service ever! I've decided to use FedEx from now on. I live in an apartment and if I receive a package that isn't possible to jam into the box they wont make an effort to walk 10ft to put on my doorstep. Now they've been just leaving me the slip to go and pick it up. When I go to the pick up door there are two other people in line with the door closed (this is on a tuesday afternoon... not busy at all). We wait for a couple minute before I ask the first person in line if anyone has helped him which he said yet but rang the bell again. After another 15 minutes of waiting for the first two customers to be helped its finally my turn.... no customer service or friendly smile or anything. Our MAIL Man is Ryan of San Ramon post office. He always comes with a smile on his face, says hello to everybody, and people in this area just love him. I see the neighbors greet him and they always have a smile on their face. He should be a trainer to Mail people, as the rest do not speak, and some of them are down right rude What a joy to have someone that you can look forward to and greet. It is so sad when he goes on vacation, then only the mail comes without a smile. He should be recognized as one of the best Mail Persons around San Ramon. Staff are generally pleasant,but they are still typical postal employees. I have a prime PO Box which allows FedEx or UPS packages to be delivered to my box. A FedEx package was delivered to the Post Office, yet a day later they still hadn't placed it in my box. The lady at the counter was busy chit chatting in Chinese with another worker and a customer. In between her conversation and giggling she reluctantly tried to address my concern. Sorry to get in the way of your socializing. Bottom line: she could have cared less about finding my package and told me to keep coming back. I asked to talk to a supervisor but she said she went home. This wasn't my first issue there. When I went to purchase a PO Box, the lady that was helping me was clueless. I had filled out the forms which I downloaded from the USPS website but she wasn't familiar with them. She had me do a change of address which was completely unnecessary and took me hours and hours to undo. Now I avoid her like the plague every time I go in. There's a tall mail supervisor who's very rude and condescending. The majority of postal employees at this location are useless. All they are capable of is mailing letters/package or selling stamps. If you have any issues with mail delivery, it's a nightmare. There's no accountability or customer service. Wish they would privatize USPS. read more

The only person with a brain there is a woman named Angela...I think she's the supervisor. She went out of her way to help the past two weeks trying to locate my package. Well she found it today and called me when she found it. She's a very nice lady and seems like the only person over there with a clue. Avoid at all cost. The one star is only for one white lady one time whom Helped me that was very nice and cordial. But overall the experience was a crazy nightmare. They lost my package, and an indian lady whom picked up a phone one time I called gave me major attitude was extremely rude something I have never ever in my life has experienced. The lady not only gave attitude but put me me on hold for 30 minutes and had the nerve to hang up on me while i was speaking to her. She was not the only one extremely rude. Another operator claiming to be the manager was also not helpful and rude, which then I requested to speak to someone else so they handed me the phone to another rude disrespectful person that was a male. He was questioning and insulting my intellect and ability to spell. What is going on? What is wrong with these people? Not only did they lose my package which was an important package I been waiting on. They kept transferring to different people, whom none helped me and had the nerve to blame me for the lost package spoke in a demeaning way. Til this day I have not retrieved my package, we found out they dropped it at another persons home, my Worse nightmare. Avoid this disrespectful, irresponsible place at all cost. Always extremely rude and disrespectful for no reason. And you have to repeatedly call and chase them. They never return your calls. I called the USPS customer service line and they do not help either. They just have the same rude people call me back to still ask the same question "have you gotten your package" ? And apologize. You apologize but you are still asking the same question and still being rude. Where is my package? You are a joke the whole establishment is a joke. USPS is a Joke. Today I had an appointment today to renew my passport at this office. When I got there, someone immediately directed me to the gentleman who handles passports. My appointment actually started a bit early. He was knowledgable, thorough, yet very efficient. For some reason, I was nervous about it (my situation is that I had to provide birth, etc. info on 5 people, so that was a lot of work). He was calming, yet kept it moving forward easily. I would like to say that I am fair when it comes to my reviews. I make sure to visit places multiple times and often try to give the benefit of the doubt; however, this post office is terrible. I wish I could give this place a zero star ranking. One star is FAR too generous! Granted it is a government agency, but at least pretend to want to do your job. The staff is rude and unhelpful. Whether in person or over the phone, they provide you with no assistance and seem exasperated whenever they are asked to do something. It is truly disgusting. Need to contact them over the phone? Good luck! I would say 9 times out of 10 the phone rings incessantly, without anyone picking up, until the phone call ultimately times out at around 5 and a half minutes. Yup, I put the phone on speaker and let it ring ... just hoping someone would pick up, but no. There is a reason USPS is going down hill. Note that this review is based on 3 visits: 2 early mornings and a Friday afternoon drop in. Both times in the morning, I've come in at 8am for a priority mail box or to use the automated machine to mail the box myself or purchase stamps. Efficiency at its best. Service wise all I have to blame is myself if I do it wrong but never had a problem. The service at counter on a Friday at 12pm didn't turn me away (no wait!!! ) and they had the stamps I wanted (seed packets w flowers snd international forever ones). So convenient. Forget the busy, disheveled post offices in SF that are close to my place that never seem to be open and have no machines (*cough* San Bruno & Excelsior you know who you are). I am giving this post office 5 stars solely because of Renee! I traveled from San Jose, and came here before an event I had to go to in San Ramon. I came early so I could beat the weekend crowd. I had just finished some of my wedding invitations, and I didn't know what to expect. I knew that it would cost a bit more because of the square size and the weight. Luckily, it didn't turn out as bad as I imagined. It helped that Renee helped me! She was super nice, patient and helpful. She recommended some really pretty stamps and even reminded me that in a couple weeks, the postage on postcards will go up to 35 cents. Even though they didn't have the matching set stamps, she had other cute alternatives which I actually liked better because it wasn't super matchy! I also wanted to get the envelopes hand cancelled instead of through a machine. I was worried that it would get messed up when ran through the hopper. The other guy working in the post office was super rude and really didn't care to help me. He really doesn't understand how to care for or treat a bride! He should know we are stressed out creatures. Guys just never understand... I may have to make the trek back here to finish off the rest of my invitations. I've never had anyone at any post office be so nice to me. How many times can someone complain about how horrible your delivery services are! I ordered a package from London, it made it all the way to San Ramon but stupid FedEx trusted your office to make the final delivery & guess what, IT'S LOST! It's really suspicious that packages from Nordstrom's or big boxes go missing! I have a camera at my door, my package was NEVER delivered but it's really interesting there's even a time of drop off time, I don't know if these idiots doesn't know how to read #s because it obviously never made it to my house. How sad that so many competent people are looking for a job to feed their families but San Ramon USPS continues to hire & keep those who steal people's packages instead of delivering them! Why is it that I never have issues with Amazon or UPS or when FedEx delivers my items behind my door. This place sucks first of all the mailman left a post card at my door to pick up in the Dublin location I went there and they told me it was in the San Ramon location. The. I went there and the lady barely even wanted to work and then she sent me to someone else who was suppose to help me and she put abbot available sign on the window until I said something to her then when I got to the window she didn't even look at my receipt she automatically said my package was returned to sender then I arrived back home and the leasing office had a package for me and guess what package it was it was the one that I tried to pick up from the post office! Went here for passport appointment. Robert (passport guy) is knowledgeable but does not have any personality. He is very dry and robotic. In the middle of processing the paperwork, he instructed me to do 3 different things at once. I had to tell him to slow down since I can only do 1 thing at a time. If it was possible to give this location zero stars I would. They did little to no help on helping me find my package. When I told them my tacking number the workers had me get out of line and print it on their little computers. Then had to get back in a long A** line just for them to tell me that the delivery supervisor would give me a call when they locate my package... even when I plug my tracking number into track my package on the usps website and it says it's at this location. I ask for the delivery supervisors number and call them no response but an automated voice message saying please call back in these office hours which is mon-Friday;8:30am-5pm closed on sundays. Today is Friday and it was 10:00am when I called. The San Ramon Post office really needs to step up their game we live in such a lavish city but have the worst customer service. read more

One of the worst run post offices I've ever used. Poor communications, poorly written signs, ad hoc decisions on when to wait in line vs wait at the side vs wait at the pick up door. If I could give these worthless government hacks a negative five, it still wouldn't be an accurate review. They are grossly incompetent! The USPS as a whole is disgraceful, but this office is the epicenter of incompetence. They delivered a package to my house and the contents were empty. So to do me a favor, the mail carrier signed on my behalf and threw the empty box away. Hey thanks! Since I hadn't seen the package and had been waiting on it, I checked the tracking number. Showed it was delivered on a day when I was at work. Hmmm. I go to file my claim for a box and it's contents that were never actually delivered, and of course the USPS denies my claim out of hand. Why, you may ask? Well, because in the system the package recorded as delivered. Why, again you may ask? Because my morally uncentered post person forged my signature, thus indicating the box was delivered and that I, in fact, signed for it. to be clear, I am not making this up. Seriously! This actually happened! No Joke!! I'm not exaggerating!!! The post person's own management admitted this was done by one of their employees. I frankly would have left the entire affair alone had my claim been honored but they added insult to injury by throwing my stuff away and then denying me any evidence that would typically be used to support my claim in the first place. Double thanks!!I I suppose there is at least one person at this facility that has his stuff together. His name is "Harold." He is unfortunately surrounded by a hive of morons who undoubtedly can hardly walk and talk at the same time. I spoke to him one day and called back to discuss my lost package the following day, as there was supposed to be an update on the matter. A woman answers the phone and tells me "Harold doesn't work here, he's at another building". After haggling with this idiot for a few minutes about whether "Harold" worked there or not, I waived the white flag and asked for ANY supervisor. She put the phone down and never returned. Calling this place is like calling a friends house and they let their two year old answer the phone. It's only fun for the two year old. These people would be a hit at GITMO. Anyone would confess to any crime (guilty or innocent) with these people at the helm. They will frustrate you to the point of insanity. They may actually be brilliantly adapted at the art of doing nothing, which may actually be the point of it all in the first place. Hurts the brain too much to wonder which it is. I understand the month of December is the busiest month for the post office. Maybe they aren't able to hire extra help. But I cannot tolerate when postal workers falsely scan packages & say they are delivered when they are not. We are all aware & worries about package theft. So when I'm tracking a package & they say it should be delivered between 5:30-6:30 I'm continually checking for my mail/packages. We had noticed the very late mail delivery during the month of December. Some nites we didn't get our mail until 8 or 9:00 at nite. My heart went out to the workers having to put in such long hours. The last time I checked was 10:30 pm and still no package. When I checked for an update the next morning the USPS tracking said my package was delivered ( although it said it was delivered at 12:22 pm the day before?) I checked about 8 am & there were several packages on my porch delivered from the USPS. Unfortunately the package I was expecting wasn't one of them. I then checked my mailbox & there was mail but not the package I was expecting. I tried not to panic- this was an expensive item. I attempted to call the post office but the phone rang about 40 times before someone picked it up & hung up. I then drove to the post office on a Saturday morning 11 days before Christmas. The line was out the door!!! I had no choice & waited 50 minutes in line. I explained the situation to the postal clerk & she wrote the tracking number down & disappeared for over 10 mins. When she finally came back she told me her supervisor would have to talk to the carrier who delivered our mail, asked for my number & told me she would call me. That didn't give me any confidence. Every time I have had problems with our mail or packages at this post office, & have been told someone would call me, that has NEVER happened. Thankfully, later that evening, the package was delivered. So why did the carrier have to scan the package when he didn't deliver it & cause me frustration, worry & a big waste of my time!! Just had another USPS tracking tell me another package was delivered Jan. 4. I just got it in yesterday's mail on Jan. 7. What is the point of having a tracking service if they misuse it??? read more
