Very friendly cashier. 3.95% fee for credit card Banh mi bread was yummy but filling needed more butter, more pate. Pickled vegetables not so pickled. Food is alright. Asked for banh cuon special and there was two fried cha goi added. Had banh tet for $32, square and cylindrical shape. Bought their peanut brittle to try.
Pretty decent bahn mi in this no frills Vietnamese sando shop on Reseda Blvd. Fresh, crunchy and thin bread, generous fillings, fresh herbs and jalapeño. Spring rolls were of good size with fresh fillings and the sauce was delicious. Wish the pickled veg on the bahn mi was a little more flavorful. Found that I was adding vinegar to my sandwich, which enhanced it. Service was very friendly. No seats inside so takeout only. Lots of lotto tickets being sold if you're looking for that. Prices very fair. Would definitely go again if I was in the area.
Best authentic viet food you'll get in the area Banh cuon is my favorite dish here and is hard to find in the area. They make it for you in front of you fresh! It comes with mint, bean sprouts and cucumbers cut finely with some pork roll and sweet fish sauce. I like to get the combo where you can order it with 2-3 of fermented beef cubes. They're spicy, tangy and savory with chunks of pepper in them. It's normally made with pork but I feel safer eating it knowing it's beef. They also have a bunch of goods at the front like sticky rice with meats and sticky rice with mung beans. Vietnamese coffee was great. They have it all proportioned and prepared. Avoid the bao bun, the breading broke apart and was so dry. Meat flavor was fine though They have plenty of free parking in the back of the store but also have some street parking in front. Service is nice and quick. This establishment also sells a bunch of scratchers and lotto. There's no seating inside, so expect to pick up to go. Definitely will keep coming back for good viet food.
We were craving banh mis and searched for some in the area and found this hole in the wall gem. Both the pork and pork with pate banh mis were really delicious! Packed with meat and a nice balance of fresh vegetables and garnish. And as others have noted, it's nice that the bread doesn't cut up your mouth. We also got the rice rolls which were good, but not as good as we were hoping. We probably wouldn't get the rice rolls again, but definitely would come for a banh mi anytime we're in the valley. It's a little hole in the wall with no seating but we just took it to a nearby park to enjoy. Also super good value as it's hard to find cheap eats these days!
We expanded our horizons on this visit and tried two amazing new dishes--the Banh Cuon and the Banh Khot. Totally different vibes but delicious and flavorful in their own ways. I'm not sure about exactly how to "properly" consume the rice rolls but I found that dipping in the sauce, wrapping with lettuce leafs and a smattering of the other goodies worked well. As for the shrimpy guys, wow. The flavor was incredible and the sauce was sweet and tangy and rounded out the experience so well. I'm convinced now that everything at Valley Sandwiches is fantastic and I'm eager to continue to explore the menu!
While it's called Valley Sandwiches, the restaurant really has a lot more to offer. Really enjoyed the bun Bo hue and stuffed rice paper. The house blend Vietnamese coffee is spectacular. Highly recommend
Is the bánh cuốn at Valley Sandwiches better than the stellar bánh mì I usually come for? Honestly... it might be. I was craving something dim sum-adjacent this morning, and Valley Sandwiches popped up in my Yelp search. I've been meaning to branch out from my usual order anyway--I always inhale their bánh mì in my car since this is strictly a take-out spot. Today I asked, "What should I get that isn't a sandwich?" They recommended the bánh cuốn because it was "easy." Say less. These rice rolls are excellent--delicate, ultra-soft, and basically melt in your mouth. The texture alone is so satisfying, and the filling (ground pork, I think?) is perfectly seasoned. Genuinely delicious. Dare I say... better than some I've had recently in Orange County. I live in the SFV and clearly I'm still just scratching the surface of all the amazing food out here. Valley Sandwiches just gave me another reason to keep exploring.
Stopped by for an afternoon sandwich. This is a nice little shop with sandwiches and Vietnamese food. The people behind the counter are really friendly and helpful. I ended up ordering a #7 pork sandwich. It was really good. What impressed me the most and stood out was the fresh vegetables in the sandwich. They were crisp and refreshing with every bite. I really enjoyed this sandwich! This is a take out only place, no indoor seating.
Valley Sandwiches doesn't serve your typical American style sandwiches. They serve a French-Vietnamese sandwich called Banh Mi. Vietnam was part of colonial French Indochina until the 1950's so baguettes & French Charcuterie/"cold cuts" were introduced. The Vietnamese kept the bread largely unchanged but did modify Charcuterie using their own traditional preserved meat style. I'm not into Banh Mi since usually there's too much bread and not enough meat although Valley is more generous with its fillings. Usually not a fanatical carboholic unless it's some exquisite hand made pasta with Parmigiano Reggiano di Vache Rosse & Tartufo Bianco d'Alba which is only available for about one month out of the year. Valley Sandwich is not just a one trick pony so I opted for many favorite items common in most Socal Vietnamese eateries: 1) Cha Gio/"Imperial Rolls" or fried egg rolls are short & fatter here. The thin wheat based wrapper was golden brown & the crispiest I've had in a while. Filling is finely ground pork, dark cloud ear mushroom, carrots, onions, Saifun/mung bean glass noodles. Nice smokey black pepper piquancy, touch of garlic. However, I didn't sense a really meaty, Nuoc Mam/fish sauce laden Umami & more elevated garlickiness as well as having this meat mixture cooked with a bit of chicken broth to enhance the meat flavours. Nuoc Cham is sweetened Nuoc Mam, bit of vinegar gastric & red chile flakes, and used as a dipping sauce. Julienned cucumber, carrots, Daikon radish pickled in sweet vinegar are palate cleansing enhancements to the Cha Gio. My Cha Gio standard is based on the wonderfully delicious Cha Gio from Cordon Bleu, Pho Quang Trung, & Golden Deli. All of which have rice wrappers which fry up to an almost teeth shattering crispness. However, they're about $16 while Valley Sandwich is $10.50 so this may be an unfair comparison. 2) Banh Cuon Cha Lua Nem Nuong Special: Flat rice pasta is translucent, shiny, flexible, moist, pliable with a slight "snap" shaped into a roll filled with something similar to the meat mixture in the Cha Gio but somehow a bit more satisfyingly meaty with larger pieces of the cloud ear. The meaty accompaniments were Cha Lua which is a steamed very finely ground delicately spiced pork terrine. Nem Nuong is a fried spiced, salty, porky rough ground pork "sausage". Sprinkled with fried sweet sightly funky onion flakes. Eaten using Nuoc Cham & refreshing garnishes of spear mint, sliced cucumber, blanched bean sprouts. Very tasty version of Banh Cuon. 3) Mi Quang: chewy fettuccine wide al dente rice noodles. Rich, roasted chicken scented fatty soup & piquant red chile purée. Meat includes char broiled fatty porkbelly, pork, pork rib, chicken all moist & meaty. Steamed plump Shrimp. Fresh spearmint, bean sprouts, crispy, refreshingly watery hearts of Romaine. Garnishes of roasted peanuts, chopped green onions; fried, toasty onions, cilantro. Deep flavoured, roasted Chicken broth w/ piquant red chile purée. 4) Banh Mi Nem Nuong Toasted French bread, Porky, salty, fatty, ground oblong patty. Julienned cucumber, carrots, Daikon radish, piquant Jalapeño, chopped Cilantro. Better than most other Banh Mi since the Nem Nuong was flavourful. 5) Bun Mang Vit in the style of north Vietnam: Hot chicken broth similar to the soup for Mi Quang with skein of chewy, lightly fermented, soy sauce braised bamboo shoots. Thin rice Vermicelli. Toppings in another bowl include: a) lightly gamey, meaty, roasted, bone in duck b) fried, sautéed green onon stalk c) sliced raw bulb onion d) diced raw red bell peppers e) green cilantro f) finely minced, warm spicy ginger & possibly aromatic lemon grass All of the above is underlain by refreshing shredded, raw cabbage Sauce is Nuoc Cham with pieces of red chile pepper & what looks like garlic. Overall Valley Sandwich has a well rounded Vietnamese menu that creates deeply flavoured food that hits the Vietnamese culinary mark. Unfortunately, no dining area to immediately eat especially the hot soups which come in plastic containers. I keep hearing how hot foods can cause bad chemicals in plastic to leach out and contaminate hot foods. Nonetheless, the food here is the best Vietnamese that I've had in the San Fernando Valley. 4+ stars BTW, If you feel lucky, you can also buy Lotto, Mega, Power lottery tickets. Also closes very early around 4pm.
Had the #10 and the #15. Both were delicious. Photo is the #10, but #15 was my favorite. Service was excellent. I believe the gentleman that served us was the owner. He was friendly and handmade our sandwiches with the utmost care and attention. Also want to note the ingredients were high quality. I'm not really a fan of the hard bread used for Vietnamese sandwiches, but this was good bread! I was impressed. The owner mentioned the source was a local bakery in Northridge. Small but clean location isn't ideal for sit down dining in but it's allowed. It seems like most customers are regulars that just swing by to pickup their order. One of the customers that stopped by when I was there said he'd been coming there for years. We enjoyed chatting with the owner as we ate. I look forward to coming back and trying more sandwiches. 5 stars.
Truly a gem of the valley. Family owned so you can really tell they care about their food and customers. And consistently delicious. We always go for the pork banh mi. Bread is fresh as can be, tons of veggies and meat. It's perfect. For the first time today, we tried the mini pancakes. Such a delight and you get so many! Also branched out and tried the egg banh mi. While I'll always gravitate towards the pork, it was quite good and perfect for our vegetarian friend. Also had a great vegetarian options in the tofu banh mi and the Veggie spring rolls. Peanut sauce makes everything divine. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything here!
I visited on 07/24/2025. Whenever I crave Banh Mi and have time to pass by, I always go out of my way to go to Valley Sandwiches. Food: Their Grilled Pork Pate sandwich is always top tier. The sandwich is not stale, and reasonably toasted. The picked radish, and carrots enhances the flavor of the grilled pork and pate. The cilantro, and thinly sliced cucumbers and jalapenos are also a welcome addition. Don't remove the veggies. I ventured out of my regular order and tried their Banh Khot. I have no idea what exactly goes into those mini pancakes, but it probably has rice flour, coconut milk, scalions, and shrimp. They also give you lettuce, mint, and a vinegar sauce to go with the pancake. It was so good. The pancakes was the right amount of crispy at the bottom and the shrimp was not overcooked, and it was not too oily which is a always a good thing. Service: They ask you what you would like to order, and answer questions about the menu, if any. They are nice people. They have small amount of staff, but they prep food so fast. Atmosphere: It is currently a take out only place. No seats or tables available for customers. The restaurant is clean. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. I've been here so many times. I really hope they would get so much more foot traffic.
I'm just now getting around to writing a Yelp review for this place, but I've been coming here for years. It's a tiny little place next door to the Bangluck Market. This place is take-out only. Back in the day, they used to also be cash only, but they do now take credit cards. There's metered street parking or you can park in the free parking lot behind their building. Parking is usually pretty easy, but can get tricky during busier times, especially if there's a truck unloading deliveries in the alleyway. I usually call my order in, and by the time I arrive, my order is ready. They make the best banh mi I've had in the San Fernando Valley, full stop. I haven't had a single thing from here that I didn't like, but my favorite sandwich here is the grilled pork with pate, which I usually get with an order of spring rolls or egg rolls. All of their sandwich fillings are tasty, but my favorite thing about their sandwiches is the bread they use... it's crispy on the outside, but will not tear up the roof of your mouth (unlike all of the other places in the area that I've tried). I highly recommend this place.

Ohhh my gosh, you gotta try this place if you ever come close to the shop (4.5 star). We ordered ice Vietnamese coffee, #11and #13. One was BBQ pork and the other one (see the photo) was meatball. You need to understand their Bahn Mi is about $5, not $10! I was surprised how much meat, fresh herbs, marinated veggies are inside the toasted bread which give you perfect texture overall. We drove a 40 minutes to west from here for golf on the day, but quickly finished them during the drive. We will definitely come back here again. Staff here including the owner were all very friendly. Love this place! read more

Tried two Bahm Mi (Dac Biet and Tuna never has a tuna bahn mi so I had to do it) found both of them to be a very good bang for the buck and about as authentic as I've been able to find west of the 5. Definitely somewhere I will eat again. Not a fancy joint by any means, but service was prompt and price was great. Saw someone having noodles, looked like BBH and probably what I will order next time read more

Three simples reasons to go here if you are feeling TL/DR my review: 1. Delicious sandwiches made of quality, flavorful ingredients and wonderful bread. 2. Incredibly reasonable, affordable and CHEAP prices. 3. Owners are so nice if makes you want to hug them to death like a cute puppy. Bonus reason: Fuck lee's sandwhiches near balboa. OK so straight up, I can't believe what a wonderful experience it was going here. It was my first time and I get that it might make me lose all credibility giving such a glowing review. But for real I could find no flaws in my first and hopefully of many more visits to come. So why is this place so good? I truly don't have a more sophisticated answer than the three simple reasons I have stated above. But let me elaborate on them. Maybe I don't know the good places in the Valley yet for viet food, since this place has changed my perception but honestly I gave up on finding good vietnamese food in the valley let alone bahn mi. Believe me I have tried. Look at my other cockroach filled reviews, pho 999 comes to mind... Anyway this is a true mom and pop operation that makes you happy to support a local business whilst also not feeling like a pretentious hipster douche who delights in going to "hole in the walls" for the authentic taste. like the customers who came right after me... So what I loved about this about this place is not only are the sandwiches delicious but the owners are remarkably kind and so nice it makes me want to smash their faces in like a bunny that is too cuuuuuute! All psychotic of Mice and Men behavior aside when I visited I ordered two sandwiches the number 1 and number 11. The former being a combo filled with coldcuts, pork roll, pate, and all the deliciousness of a bahn mi we all have come to love. And the latter was the grilled pork variety also a staple for bahn mi lovers. Both were delicious flavorful and had the right amount of meat, pickles, veggies, peppers to bread ratio that made it seem like symmetry from god himself. Also the bread! holy shit man. Now I have stopped eating bread for awhile now because I suck and became an LA douche. but by god this bread. What kills me on bahn mi is when the bread sucks. When it tastes either stale or that terrible flavorless cardboard you get at say lee's sandwiches. I dont know if this place makes their own bread, sources it out or whatever, but fact is when you get the bread, its warm, crisp, flavorful and perfect. Its the type too where you know you will cut the fuck up out of your mouth but you say i dont care im going all in all this. My mouth is destroyed today but it was deliciously worth ever cut and scrape I made on that ooo so crusty bread! Lastly back to the owners and how amazing they were. Super friendly super mom and pop and at one point the mom i believe came out with a butcher knife as youll see in my pics and somethign about how gangster she was about just walking around with a giant knife in the dining area and about to cut a giant purple taro or yam that added a sorta of ambience or mmise en scene i sorta loved. but what struck me the most is when i went to pay, by the way they make you your food you eat it and then pay after which honestly struck me as odd and surprising at first because you dont necessarily expect that type of service at such a casual place like this. it's so chill and relaxed. but if that wasnt enough when i went to pay i pulled out my card, the owner Lam who meticulously crafted my delicious torpedos of bahn mi just smiled and said "hey if you dont have cash no worries just pay me next time you visit." That struck me as ridiculously amazing. this is a man who not only is a true member of the community who but also an upstanding guy who knows how good his product is that he is confident you will come back. I know i am reaching by overthinking this kindness but he had EVERY right to demand me pay right a that moment. I can honestly say I paid in cash to my delight. He didnt know I had cash and it was a quick micro transaction but that kindness and thoughtfulness really struck me as a customer who would like to support this local business even more so! And lastly add to the fact that each sandwich is no more than say $4-4.50 you CANNOT beat the price for the quality. They are hefty sandwiches too. not skimpy. I add fucking three of them on an epic cheat day. The amount I spent too was less than ONE sub at say subway or jersey mikes. and those places suck and are full of pedophiles. So you tell me? What's better , a delicious bahn mi made by a nice member of the community for a reasonable price or waiting for your favorite sub day to arrive during the week just so you can drop $5 bucks on a footlong that you KNOW tastes like every otehr goddamn thing on the menu despite the ingredients and was made famous by a fat guy who lost weight and diddle kids? fuck subway. unless you are happy gilmore. Great spot for banh mi's and well worth the drive from LA! Bread is fresh and the Vietnamese coffee is better than Lee's...not too sweet hehe. Spring rolls are very good. Consider buying more than you think because this place is legit. read more

This place has some good duck noodle soup! I like it that they expanded the menu to include various soups from Vietnam that is not your regular pho. Keep up the good work! read more

Woke up this morning with a craving for banh mi and luckily found this place because it opens at 7am! I ordered the #11 Grilled Pork with Pate and it was delicious. Portion was good, flavor was great and it was only $4.50! Will be coming back more. read more

Great banh mi sammiches! I've been a tough critic of Vietnamese cuisine ever since I've visited Vietnam so this place does them just right. It's a no frills type of place and has limited seating. I always order for pick up and leave which is great if you're in a hurry. My favorites are the chicken banh mi and tuna banh mi. I'm not a pork fan but I've had a bite of my bf's pork meatball banh mi and it was delicious! Something so amazing about their baguettes.... so crunchy on the outside and so soft and slightly buttery on the inside, YUM! Also, it's very affordable! Around $4 for each sandwich. Credit cards not accepted so make sure you take cash. read more

I ordered catered food from Valley Sandwiches! Perfect! I had them made Banh Khot, Banh Cuon and Goi Cuon for my friends. I dressed up the table to make a simple meal a little more fancy! Everyone enjoyed it thoroughly. They did a great job and everything was so yummy! We will be ordering from them again. read more

"The Local Yelp" RECOMMENDATION! That's the only reason what got my butt to walk through these doors in the first place! Bánh Mì options are SCANT in Ventura County, so this was the closest option on the list that's supposed to be "local", sooo... Here I Am!!! 56 minutes travel time to get a decent bánh mì, SHEESH! Hopefully it's good cuz it's still closer than Westminster, where all the awesome Vietnamese eats are ;) Valley Sandwiches is strictly bánh mì options. It's a tiny shop with just a few tables to chill. Yelp directions are a little off. Look for Pho 999 & it's a few doors down on the same side. It's counter service and as I mentioned what I wanted to my son, someone repeated what I said behind me. I do the "who, when, where, WHAT DA?!?" confused look?!? Turns out that was the owner who was mingling with the party at the tables. We start talking and she is the sweetest thing! Hao, the owner, has been in restaurant business since '75, started this sandwich shop in '15 after the passing of her husband (R.I.P. Sir). She is is proud of her shop & guaranteed I would be back after sampling the goods here. Love the bravado! My choice... 11. BÁNH MÌ PATE THIT NUÓNG ($4): Grilled Pork Pate Sandwich is my usual go to Vietnamese sammie. I'm happy to say, it's REALLY good here! Perfectly crispy flaky homemade baguette that has some inner softness. The pork has a sweet marinade giving it a wonderful taste, and there is an ample amount of meat stuffed inside. Pate was only a thin layer. The veggie layer was complimentary rather than overwhelming... All in all a really tasty creation. It was so TASTY, I got a second one to go ;p Owner Hao was spot on. I WILL be coming back here, no doubt! Can't wait to partake in the other offerings she has here! Easy recommendation :) read more
