The last time I was here it was Snow Monster and I was a teenager, so the nostalgia hit hard The place is super clean, service was quick, and all the employees were polite and welcoming. Bathrooms are available for customers and were clean, which I always appreciate. We ordered two boxes of beignets, a salted caramel coffee, a hot marble drip, and a young coconut coffee latte. Beignets: Fresh, hot, and well made but not sweet at all in my opinion. Still good, just not what you'd expect if you're imagining a traditional, sugary beignet. Salted caramel coffee: Strong but sooo good. Balanced, flavorful, and definitely something I'd order again. Young coconut coffee latte: Hard no for me. It tasted artificial and way too milk-heavy with barely any coffee flavor. Hot marble drip: Absolutely amazing. Perfectly strong and bold coffee paired with steamed condensed milk chef's kiss. The texture and flavor of the Uji Matcha Tofu are perfect. Definitely hit the spot. ​The logistics of the location aren't the best--the parking sucks and the front entrance facing the main street is pretty awkward to get into. If you're looking for a nice study cafe, I would suggest Viland! Compared to Taty's, Moongoat, and other nearby places, Viland has much nicer seating and a generally nicer ambiance. It feels less crowded, even during peak hours. It's still loud though, so don't expect perfect study conditions. Even though Airoma has better matcha, I would choose over Viland because it has food options too and way less busy inside, but both have nice seating. Not you won't see this place from the parking lot you'll need to walk around along Bolsa Ave. the place is not big there are a few tables to sit at and of course it fills up pretty quickly. Did a little café stop at Viland and ordered the honey chrysanthemum tea (70% sweet, add crystal boba). It was my first time here I've heard really good things about this spot, so I finally decided to check it out and I was definitely not disappointed. The café itself is super cute, very clean, and has a really aesthetic vibe. Fairly new construction, bright, and airy definitely a spot you could get some work done. The cashier recommended lowering the sweetness since the drink tends to run on the sweeter side, and I'm so glad I listened because it was absolutely perfect. No notes. Yummm! I stopped into Viland on a Saturday morning. I ordered a viland coffee that comes with a crème brûlée cold foam (and optional mini croissant for 85¢) and a few beignets. Everything was great! Everytime I've been to Viland it is pretty busy, and so in return the drinks take a longer amount of time to be made as well but the workers are definitely trying their best! There is a kiosk to order at near the door so if the line extends outwards it's because it's right there! You can order at the cashier but only if you have cash, I definitely recommend ordering ahead if you can online. I always get the Ube Coffee Latte and it is really good! If you don't like the taste of Viet Coffee, I would definitely get it extra sweet. The plaza is always busy so parking can be hard but there's always a few spots, they're just super tight spots. The tofu pudding is very soft and yummy as well, although it is a bit of a small container and it is pretty sweet. Their uji matcha tofu drink is what makes Viland stand out from other drink places in the area. I had been previously been here closer to when they opened and their drinks were good but then I promptly forgot about it because of all the other drink stores around. Now that I've recently tried and loved the matcha tofu, I go back here just for it. The tofu is housemade and is so silky and soft and goes so well with the matcha, which I got at 50% sweet, which was just right for me. I also had a chicken croissant sandwiches for lunch there (there is a choice of pork, beef, and chicken) and it was really good and only $6. It was filling and the meat was nicely marinated and tender. It has veggies and a creamy sauce so it feels like a complete well-rounded sandwich. I ordered the sandwich after ordering my matcha drink, but next time I would definitely take advantage of their matcha combo deal ($14) for the drink and sandwich. It's so affordable! If you are getting Vietnamese coffee, the coffee combo deal with sandwich is only $12. They sell their homemade tofu on its own too, which would be a light and refreshing treat. I need to go back to try their avocado croissant next time! As a place for bringing your laptop to work/study, there are tables and a bar that you can work at but the tables are a little small for 2 people if both are using their laptop there. They have wifi but no outlets that I saw. There is a restroom with a code but there is only 1 and for some reason always had a very long wait. The restroom is not constantly checked/cleaned by staff. Glad I came early in the day because this place went from relatively empty to PACKED in the span of 15 minutes. The variety of seating encourages people to hang out or do work, and the cozy atmosphere makes it near impossible to leave. I've been seeing Viland Coffee all over my Instagram feed, so I finally decided to check it out. Of course, I made the rookie mistake of coming in way too full from dinner, so my appetite was basically on airplane mode. Even then, everything I tried was pretty good... The wife wanted more powdered sugar but I thought it was just perfect. I don't like it too sweet especially when paired with a sweet drink like a vietnamese coffee. Back in Little Saigon for another coffee fix. Coffee & Beignets just opened this year (2025), right across from the Today's Plaza (T&K Food Market) , and it's part of the same group as Yummy Bakery. Like most Vietnamese cafés, they've got all the favorites-Ube, Coconut, and even Vietnamese drip coffee. They also serve matcha (with a Uji Matcha option!) and beignets which is rare to find. I tried the Ube Matcha and Ube Latte - both on the sweeter side, while the Matcha Latte leaned a bit bitter. The barista mentioned that Vietnamese coffee always needs sugar so they don't have a zero-sugar option. The lowest you can go is 25% sugar, and only black coffee can be fully unsweetened. On a Friday afternoon, I visited your shop to purchase an Uji Matcha Tofu drink (approximately $7.75 before tax). It was a hot, muggy day, and the store was very busy both inside and outside. I noticed there was one self-service kiosk available, but I chose to order directly through the cashier. After placing my order, I waited for my drink. During that time, I saw several customers who ordered through the self-service kiosk receive their drinks before me, even though I had arrived earlier. Concerned that my order might have been missed, I asked the cashier guy who took my order if he could check its status. He brietly glanced at my number, quickly told me my drink was not ready, and dismissed my concern without verifying anything in the system. His response felt rushed and unhelpful. Unsatisfied, I asked another employee for assistance. This time, a young woman greeted me with a smile and was genuinely willing to help. She listened carefully and checked the system to confirm whether my order existed. It appeared that my order was either not entered correctly or had been overlooked. She immediately prepared my drink on the spot and even asked about my preferred milk and sugar levels. Her professionalism, accountability, and sense of urgency were greatly appreciated. Untortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. As customers, we are not just order numbers--we choose to visit your establishment and pay for your products and service. Consistency, attentiveness, and basic courtesy are essential components of customer service. While I appreciate the young lady's excellent support, the initial interaction left a negative impression. I've been wanting to come here since they've opened. I was so glad we stopped by at 3ish on a Sunday. There was no line. If there is ever a line, I noticed there was a kiosk to order as well. This place is located in a strip mall with lots of traffic. Parking can be a challenge, so be patient. The entrance is forward facing (on Bolsa Ave.); be careful making your way to the door. Very modern decor and clean with seating both indoors and outdoors. I love the simple and clear menu: especially the photos. The pastries in the display case look so yummy. I just had lunch so I only ordered the beignets. Omg, they were so delish! It was light and freshly made with the right amount of powdered sugar. They only cost $0.75 each! Since I did not have time to make another stop before dropping it off to her during lunch, I asked the staff if they had anything festive like a small sign or stickers to add to the box but unfortunately for me, they did not. However, one of the staff wrote Happy Birthday on the box in pretty cursive writing (better than mine for sure). The penmanship was perfection.
