Good food hiding in the corner! We were in Napa, we were hungry, and we were near Bel Aire Plaza. A quick emergency meeting of minds concluded that Mexican food was the desired solution of all involved! That is when my project manager side jumped into action and with lightning speed pulled my iPhone out and searched for the nearest options! Villa Corona was just there hiding around the corner, so a quick turn and there were were in the parking lot! We were lucky to get a table quickly. The servers were awesome. The food arrived quickly and it was delicious. Our server was kind enough to bring a small container of water for our puppy who was very thirsty. I'll admit I was a taken a back on the price of Burritos, after ordering to go. Their website is not up to date on prices, but I was in fancy Napa, in a strip mall not in the heart of tourism. They were flavorful, they even cut them in half, as I requested, so I wouldn't be tempted to gorge on the whole thing. I got two meals out of it. But don't expect chips or salsa which is standard for most Mexican restaurants. Out the door you go. Next time I'm gonna sit inside & make the best of being waited on & tip the server too. The restaurant has outdoor seating as well as indoor, it's a cute spot and good Mexican food. I'd go again it's that good. read more

Food was great but I am definitely put off by the in person price increase implemented at the cash register. It was definitely an up charge from the posted prices. When I confronted the cashier he said they had a price increase but I checked the online price and it agreed with what was posted in the restaurant. It's pretty shady to just up charge like that. we came here for lunch and got a seat within a minute. menu is quite big and has lots of options. We ordered chimichanga and a burrito bowl. Also ordered chips and guacamole on the side and trust me when I say this: the guacamole was out of the world. It was fresh, rich and super tasty. I grew up in Napa and enjoyed coming here. I recently moved back to area and have been little by little disappointed. Today did it for me. Paid 50 dollars to split some nachos with my girlfriend , 1 flauta and two supposed crispy tacos. The tacos were completely soggy and when I went to pick them up the bottom fell completely out. The filling in both my beef and chicken was old and dry . For that kinda money I expected wayyyyy better and expected what it was called "crispy tacos" won't be back read more

We have been enjoying the food and the ambience of Villa Corona for many years. We do recommend it, but would warn people to be aware of inconsistencies. For example, my wife recently ordered a taco salad; immediately after the first bite she could taste that something was wrong and it didn't taste good. When she brought it to the attention of the staff, she was told that since she had taken a bite, she couldn't exchange it for another order. On another occasion, I ordered a serving of regular nachos, along with sour cream and salsa. The receipt was for much more than the price of the meal; when I asked about it, the staff person said at first it was for an order of nachos grande (which we didn't order) but that the sour cream/salsa was free. When I said that I ordered the regular nachos, she said then we were being charged for the condiments (we received an order of grande nachos). So, I say come & enjoy! I sometimes come to this place for super burritos with green or red sauce. Due to COVID19, there is currently no indoor dining but the place has tons of Latino atmosphere with pictures and Spanish music. I noticed some workers don't speak English that well and take several tries to get my order correctly. But if you repeat and review your orders at the end, you won't have much trouble. The food portion is HUGE! Every time I get a super burritos, I always end up eating only half of it and save another half for another meal. The cost is around $15. I know it may seem little high for a burrito but the size of burritos makes up for it. The taste of their burritos is pretty decent- they will give you a lot of rice, beans, cheese, and your choice of meat. They all taste good together with good seasoning. You can also add avocados and sour cream if you want to. Try it out if you are in town! I heard taco salad is also popular. read more

Wanted to grab a carne asada burrito for lunch and wanted a taqueria spot that was open in the morning, so conveniently they were open to my liking. First off I want to point out the ambiance and location is in a busy plaza, and the the ambiance seemed traditional. Satisfied with the area and eatery establishment. Next the price, it's up to you to decide, it was a bit pricey for me however the serving was big, I say pricey because I paid almost $20 for the burrito, and the flavor wasn't extraordinary. It was ok. Not great, I wouldn't say good, but it wasn't bad. It was filling, but not satisfying. Service was good and the the service was very kind and checked up on me while I ate, so 4.5 stars for service my rating is based on food here though. The salsa was upsetting I had to pay extra, I didn't mind, but usually every taqueria I've been to gives them out for free, and it wasn't the best. Went here last night and had some confusion with the menu but the owner rectified the situation quickly. It's hard to communicate through masks. As a Napa resident I have been to a lot of local Mexican restaurants and there is no doubt that Villa Corona has the best most flavorful carnitas in the valley. Really, some of the other spots in town should be ashamed with the carnitas they produce, they should just give up and make Villa Corona the spot for this taste meat dish. In the absence of Arturo, the customer service for pick up was very poor. I waited for a half hour in the store for my online order, then about 20 minutes in when I asked if there was some problem, it turns out my order never was printed for them, then I waited some more. In the whole process, there was never an apology, or any words of encouragement. If I hadn't asked and pursued it, I think they would've just let me sit there all night! One of my Favorite Mexican places in Napa. Cute location in the Trader Joe's target shopping area in North Napa. Parking is generally plentiful behind their location, despite the busy market place parking areas. They have amazing chips. I literally dream about these chips they're crunchy and fresh and delicious every time I go. Their salsas are great. I have had many dishes there but my favorite are their burritos. They customize burritos exactly how you want them and you can taste the quality of the ingredients. Everything just comes out perfectly how I've ordered it and I'm pretty particular with what goes into my burrito. They have a lot of indoor seating but they also have some cute outdoor seating with nice umbrellas and although it's right next to the parking lot it's very relaxing to sit outside and enjoy their food. Picked up the (phone) order and the service was exceptionally great as always. After paying, the employee kindly walked over and handed me the food. We ordered the Taco Salad and Super Burrito both with Carne Asada, btw. Left happily to the car and we dove right into the food. First thing we felt was like a freight truck hit us really hard because of the salty carne asada flavor. We were shocked! We continued to eat the food thinking the bites was a one off and both of us spoke up and realized the food was salty. My wife called the restaurant to provide feedback and requested a refund. The restaurant accepted the refund and we ended up not finishing the food sadly. In the end, we drank a ton of water and have a slight headache from the high sodium intake. But we'll be back! When it comes to Mexican food, or pretty much any food from a particular culture, authenticity is very important to me. I have heard people say Villa Corona isn't authentic and I think that comes down to what their definition and interpretation of "authentic" means. I can agree this isn't your usual, no frills, hole in the wall, home style Mexican food. They actually do pay attention to details here, from the food, to the decor, to the service. I'll admit some of the menu selections may have some Californian appeal to them, but that's a necessary adjustment you need to make when situated in Napa. All you need to know is the restaurant is always busy, often times with Mexican clientele, every item I've ever had tastes great, high quality ingredients (ie carne asada is not tough and chewy), service and presentation is to the nines, and people are willing to drive distances to come here. They've successfully built a craving. High quality food, reasonably priced, consistency (no hit or miss here), friendly service... this place is great and impressed the pickiest of palates... well except the haters :) This is a true and proven "go to" spot. read more

You order at the counter but I left 25% like I always do (the service was counter-service but pleasant, and the servers don't deserve to lose out b/c the food is terrible and over-priced). It's $3 for chips and salsa, BTW-- otherwise you get NO salsa, apparently, even if you order a burrito (what sort of place doesn't give you SALSA with a BURRITO?). Anyway, truly disgusting beans-- I'd say they were canned like someone else pointed out, but that feels rather like an insult to canned beans. They were disgusting. Rice had no seasoning. And the green sauce was utterly tasteless. And the worst part-- the food came out COLD. Like lukewarm on the outside, cold on the inside. The food was so lacking in heat, spice, and any kind of flavor that I dumped nearly a half bottle of Tapatio on it just to choke it down. There are TONS of amazing food trucks and small, hole-in-the-wall family-owned Mexican restaurants throughout Napa County making amazing food. Save your money and go to one of them. I wanna start by saying the food here is great. I had the best tamale. However multiple things about this business bothered me. We got two plates of food, a beer and an iced tea and it came out to about $70, which felt pricey. On top of that the service is fast casual so you order at the counter. Chips and salsa are not free and cost almost $6. But what really bothered me about this place is that they serve everything in plastic throwaway cups. Even the water I asked for came in a plastic to go cup. I really can't stand when businesses have no conscience about the environment and the waste that they are contributing to. All of the drinks are in a refrigerator like you would find in a liquor store and they are marked up in price. The ambience of this place is nice. The food was really good. I would just say it is too expensive for a fast casual restaurant and they need work to be more green. I would not come here again. read more

This is a homey restaurant that feels very inviting. You order your food at the register and they bring the food to you. They have outdoor and indoor seating. I ordered the Chile Verde and it was soo delicious, very flavorful and big portions. We also ordered the Camarones Al Mojo De Ajo, whole prawns sautéed in garlic butter served with rice and beans which was also very flavorful and delicious. Overall, the service was great as well. Family went out tonight and had a great meal at Villa Corona. The atmosphere was festive with painted walls and a variety of paintings that are all conversation starters. Reggae music was playing and we were all relaxed. Food came out fresh, fast, and hot. Mom had a chili relleno plate, my guy had a taco platter, and I had the taco salad. Soooo good paired with their Spanish rice. It comes with both rice and beans but I ask for double of the latter instead. Also, the chicken chimichanga is very tasty. The shredded chicken filling is juicy which is very important. Service is friendly. Lots of seating inside and out. Overall, great place if you are in the Napa area! read more
