We've been eating Vito's for several years. We never had a bad pizza until the last few visits. Order was wrong on one pizza, the other pizza was dry and over done. Everything seems to run smoothly and friendly when a Ernie is there. His staff is all but proficient and friendly. They older lady that's sometimes at the counter, not friendly at all. This local family owned pizza restaurant is a hidden gem. I really enjoy the food and they really give back to the community. Their specials are tremendous. They offer pizza by the slice! The crust is made from fresh dough daily. Toppings are plentiful. The staff really seems to want you to be happy. Sooooo, here goes....(fingers crossed)....."'My only request is please look into fresh mushrooms instead of the canned, pretty please (-1 star)." The prices are incredible, the food is great the staff is wonderful and the owners are incredible. I love that they practice Christianity first and run their store second, as it should be. Walked in at 12:00 for lunch and was confused by the process to get pizza. Do I order and have a seat, wait to be seated and then place a order. I walked up to the front counter and a young woman just looked at me, I asked if we just seat our self and is there room in the back, to which she answered there is someone sitting back there. O.K. ! are they having a private party is there more room What? we just went back and sat down hoping that was the protocol. The place smelled pretty good but it looked dirty and dingy. Mom and pop place O.K. but keep it clean. A male employee came from a back room sweating profusely, wiped his forehead, then took the same hand put his finger over what I guess was salad dressing plastic bottle and gave it a good couple of shakes. He then sat it on the counter and washed his hands and used the damp towel to wipe his sweat again. We had been there for a while 10 Min. and no one came to take an order or tell us we needed to order up front or any thing. The customer service on the phone is okay. They don't wow me on that aspect and if they would have great customer service and showed up on time with delivering the pizza they would get stars. On the taste though I would give a 5 star and that's why I keep going back to this place for pizza. It tastes equivalent to NYC or Philly pie. Wanted to give them a try but didn't happen. Bait & switch type experience; brought in by lure of a "Meet the Manager" free one topping pizza but once there you have to buy a pizza to get one free because they "no longer" honor their OWN coupon. A more appropriate action would have been to offer half off your first large pizza. Poor sign of customer service so left and won't be back. read more

DO NOT EAT AT VITO"S IN ORANGE PARK. I have a coupon for Vito's for a Manager's Special from the Living Social Coupon book that does not expire till December 31, 2013. However Vito's is refusing to honor their own coupon. The coupon specifically says one large free pizza. It does not have any stipulations yet they will not honor it. I think this is horrible business customer service. You should never put out an offer you don't plan on honoring. The manager was rude and so were the employees. I am a teacher in a class of young people that participated in the Enjoy The City fundraiser and sold these books. The coupon company most certainly DID NOT misprint the coupon. We have been doing this fundraiser for several years now and the SAME exact coupon for a FREE pizza was in the version of the book prior to the current one - that one ended on 12/31/2012 and they DID honor the coupon because I myself got a free pizza from that book. My husband loves their pizza, but we always drove up to pick it up. Last night, because we both have a terrible cold, we called for delivery for the first time. The person who took the order said we would have the pizza in 35 minutes, no problem. An HOUR later we called to find out why we still hadn't received the pizza. While I was on the phone asking the status, the driver pulled into our drive. He was apologetic and friendly, but stated that he had to deliver to Orange Park Mall first. Why didn't the restaurant call to let us know it would be delayed? They had our phone number... The person I was speaking to didn't apologize or make any concessions for lateness or lack of notice. Even though their pizza is good, after that experience, I will never order from them again. If they had called within the 35 minutes stated delivery time to let me know of the delay, I would have been okay and appreciative that they let me know. Great NY style pizza. Hand tossed, thin crust. I ordered a medium cheese pizza and the lady behind the counter told me I could get a large for the same price because of a special they were running.
