Saturday night dinner at ViV was a great choice! 1st I ordered a cocktail ON CLOUD 9 (Ketel One Grapefruit & Rose Vodka, Orange Liqueur, grapefruit & rose juice, Orange Liqueur foam, Peychaud's Bitters). I love a cute looking cocktail and this one did not fail and it was so good! For my appetizer POR PIA TODD (Fried vegetable spring rolls, sweet plum dip). These spring rolls are at the top on my list - crispy and the filling was so fresh! I wanted to order more but I knew I would not finish my entree. Speaking of entree KHAO PAD SAPPRAROD (Fried yellow curry rice, pineapple, eggs, cashew nuts, onions, scallions and cilantro garnish). The rice was served inside of a pineapple. Absolutely delicious (10/10)!

Service was wonderful, food could've been better and ambiance was super cute. The lights were super dimmed and there's a whole dragon flowing in the ceiling from front to back of the restaurant. Again, super cute! I only enjoyed the crab fried rice bc there were actual chunks of crab in it. The razor clams didn't taste fresh, just spicy and extremely chewy. The beef skewer was too rough maybe overcooked for too long? The pad kee mao was spicyyyyyyyy to the point where I teared everytime I took a bite lol We should've asked for mild or least spice as possible.

Viv has been my go to Thai spot in Hell's Kitchen since they opened about 13 years ago. The food was always so great while the service could be hit or miss. The staff was always so chic. The space so hip. I hold this place so close to my heart and change is hard. So imagine my surprise when I went for dinner and asked for the hard copy of the menu (not doing a QR code), and instead of the big gorgeous book of a menu, I was handed a one sheet plastic laminated menu which looked small and as if things had been simplified. I asked - are you under new management or owners? They said no, just revamped the menu. Hmmm?! Gone were my favorite apps - the fried tofu, and signature long thin crispy spring rolls. In its place the new spring rolls are short fat things that look like a crushed eggroll. It was fine. Also got the chicken satay which was very good. As for mains, my favorite dish - the avocado chicken massaman curry served on the bone (as they insisted) was gone. I got my other favorite the drunken noodles with chicken which was great. Now also served with a scrambled egg on top. We also ordered a new dish - the massaman nua, short ribs in the most delicious sauce. When ordering the curry dishes they have gotten rid of most of the options - gone are pork, beef, duck; only chicken, shrimp, tofu remain. The plates they're serving on were different. They use to be unique. Now they're small simple white plates that seem better fit for a diner. The music that was usually pumping, was on low. The dim lighting was turned up, and the place felt bright. The stylish staff, replaced by people in everyday clothes. The whole thing felt a little 'invasion of the body snatchers'. Same space, but it all feels off. I must give them credit the food was good. Prices seem a little higher now. I imagine in the tough restaurant landscape their old menu which was huge, was proving to not be profitable. I will be back, but it just doesn't totally feel like the Viv I knew.

hecked out this Thai spot in Hell's Kitchen with a friend after seeing it had over 4,500 reviews--figured we had to see what the hype was about! We started with the vegetable dumplings, which were surprisingly unique compared to the usual--definitely a standout. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao (8/10), which I don't usually go for (I tend to stick with Pad Thai or drunken noodles), but I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. The flavors were bold, and it totally paid off. Heads up: they take their spice levels seriously. I ordered medium and it was already pretty fiery--so be cautious if you're sensitive to heat! The vibe was cozy, decor had a warm and inviting feel, and the service was friendly and attentive. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Walked in to this place after a movie and we were pleasantly surprised! It's a nice spot, that looks like would be good for group dinners. We ordered the thai tea and thai iced coffee, the thai tea was solid, but the thai iced coffee could have been a bit more creamier and colder, maybe if they added more ice or used pebbled ice instead. The crab fried rice was really good, and the sauce made it even better. They packed our food to go as well, which always adds a point to good service :)

It's kinda great how they took regular old Thai food and put it in the middle of a clubby vibe. Prices are reasonable and the food is reliable. It's not really a foodie destination, but it's holistically a lot of fun. Pad Thai: Pretty standard. Flavor soaked noodles. Nicely marinated shrimp. A bunch of egg, oddly not mixed in. And various other pieces making this a mélange of flavors.

This place is always a wonderful experience. The food menu is large and I have yet to try anything I didn't like. One of my favorite dishes are their curries. There massaman nua with sticky rice is chefs kiss. It's beef short ribs, pink potatoes, onions, carrots, peanuts, massaman curry. The short ribs is tender and melts in your mouth. The service here is always amazing. The staff are quick and attentive and super helpful if you like asking for recommendations. The space can seat a lot. It's a popular spot and gets busy most nights. It's a great location for dinner with friends and with a partner. Not so much for a first date.

Another 10/10 experience with Viv! I used to come here a LOT a few years and finally made my way back. I know folks say absence makes the heart grow stronger but wowwww was that the case here. Every piece of our meal was incredible but the major highlights for me were the appetizers. We ordered the Kra-pow puffs and the fried tofu and they were both so so good. The texture of the fried tofu just melted in your mouth and the sauce that came with the kra-pow puff really danced along your palette. Service-wise I had no complaints! The person taking our order seemed to be a new hire and they did an excellent job attending to us all night. I am someone who likes to ask the wait staff's opinions on menu items and they also did a great job of sharing some helpful insight. Please check out Viv if you haven't yet (if it is been a while!)- you're really going to love it!

We came here after work with a group of friends and made reservations early. I had no idea what to expect, but I was blown away as soon as I walked in. The decor is absolutely stunning, especially the lit dragon that spans across the restaurant--it's a real showstopper. Once seated, our server was attentive and helpful right from the start. As big fans of Thai food, we started with the spring rolls and shrimp and chicken dumplings. Both were delicious, though the spring rolls are exceptionally large, making them perfect for sharing with a group. For our mains, we tried the pad see ew, pad Thai, red curry, and duck tamarind. Each dish was flavorful and cooked to perfection, but the standouts for me were the red curry and the pad Thai. The combination of the incredible ambiance and delicious food makes this a place I'll definitely come back to. Highly recommend it for group dinners or a fun night out!

The place is very spacious and a dim lit area which to us made it the perfect date night spot. We called to place a reservation since their website didn't show availability and they were very accommodating, that vibe and attentiveness from the employees translated to our dinner too! We had the Volcano Chicken (which gets poured an actual flame on top and was such a fun thing) and the Kee Mao noodles. The chicken was a tender rotisserie style chicken but the vegetables it came with weren't really good. The Kee Mao noodles were very flavorful but unfortunately were not spicy despite us asking for them to be which was surprising since most Thai places have a pretty good spice level when asking for it to be spicy. Overall it was a great experience and would recommend!

This was probably the most expensive plate of fried rice I've ever had... that being said, it was probably the best fried rice I've ever had in my life. It was so fresh and delicious and filling and I would absolutely splurge on this again. The service was also really good and the restaurant had such cool decorations. Great for a date night.

One of my favorite Thai places in the neighborhood. Their Covid upgraded outdoor are is SO fun too! Great atmosphere and amazing food at decent prices. Great spot for a date or meeting a group of friends and they also have a happy hour drink menu if you get there early. Pad Thai is my favorite but I've had many things from the menu and loved everything. read more

I really do love the food here by every time I get a to go order, their packing just makes no sense. Like today I made a to go order for Khao Soi and vegetable spring rolls. Thankfully I opened the bag. 1) they forgot the spring rolls 2) they packaged the soft noodles and hard noodles together with a lemon Why pack the noodles together? The crispy noodles were already soggy before I left the restaurant. But their food quality is good so I can't not come back! Just check your to go orders! read more

I definitely recommend joining the waitlist if you decide to dine here because this place gets filled really quick during dinner. Ambiance: Will take you to Thailand due to the decor in the wall as well as in the bathroom. Music is loud but enjoyable. Food: Definitely a Thai restaurant I would come back to in New York!! The pad Thai was flavorful compared to some other ones I've had in other Thai restaurants, the pork belly I wasn't a fan the meat was very hard to chew compared to a Thai place I had 2 days ago but the fried rice made up for it. Since moving to Hell's Kitchen last winter, I've been on the hunt for good Thai takeout. Not only does VIV do good takeout, but if you dine-in, they are a fun, happening restaurant, even on a Wednesday night when we visited. It is probably thanks to their daily happy hour, with $8 cocktails and flavored margaritas until 7 PM. While the restaurant may look small from the street, they have a large back dining room with good ambiance. I had the green curry and my partner had the pad see ew. Very large portions of good Thai food. We each had two rounds of the strawberry and lychee margaritas, which were tasty but beware, they are stronger than they taste! :) read more

Ok brought my peeps here from r a new happy hour midtown spot!!! $8 happy hour till 7 A vast amount of options for martinis and margaritas. To choose from. Protocol. - have your back ce card/app/pic ready to show, or sit outside *simple The food did not disappoint!!! LOL i mean its not authentic thai but its still damn good. reminds me alot of this bar/thai place back home that was open til 3 am everyday; dank thai food at a good price that tastes even better when you're drunk. khao soi and drunken noodles were delicious and priced very fair. we tried pure thai cookhouse and wondee thai down the street and they were packed. we were seated immediately at this place and it was clear that this was a great hangout spot with yummy drinks and decent seating to meet up with multiple friends at once. service was nice and polite (when you eventually flag them down). i probably wouldn't come back or recommend this place to others but this is a great fall back option if i can't get into the other places i wanted to try in the first place. read more

Went to V{IV} last Sunday with 3 friends! For a Sunday night around 7:40pm it was unexpectedly crowded, and we had to wait 15 minutes for a table. The interior decor is super cool with the dragon hanging over the hallway, and it wasn't too loud inside. The food was well prepared with a wide variety of choices and spices. My friends and I all agreed the Rama 9 was super delicious!!! The peanut sauce was just the right thickness and slightly sweet, and paired really well with the chicken and vegetables. Would be back simply to order the Rama 9 again. read more

Beautiful restaurant, with cute outdoor seating as well. Even on a crowded Saturday night the service was friendly, efficient and fast! Join the waitlist on Yelp or in person and check to see where you are on the list. Food was fantastic! Highly recommend the Pad Ke Mao. Dishes ran around $15 and portions were plentiful. Music a tad loud but lends to fun atmosphere. There's a lot of Thai to choose from in this area, and you won't regret choosing VIV! read more

I've been searching for a Thai restaurant in NYC that serves Khao Soi for a long time. I was so excited to see that Viv had it on their menu. They make it with bone-in chicken and shrimp. Unlike other Khao Sois that I have had in the past, this one does not have as much soup. However, it was still delicious and I was very happy to finally satisfy the craving. For the appetizer, I got the beef and shrimp dumpling, which was very delicious. There's only 4 per order though, so the portions are not that big. The restaurant also has a very nice playlist with all my favorite songs! The ambiance is very chill and cute. I'd definitely recommend it whether you're looking for a spot for a date or just a casual place to eat. Overall, the restaurant is fairly priced for it being in Manhattan and I did not leave still hungry so that was a plus! read more

Through Seamless, I got the shrimp pad thai and it was a really good sized portion and was prepared in a timely fashion, but unfortunately I thought it was too dry. I used the lemon provided, but it still was not enough to make the noodles moist. There were about 5-6 shrimps which was pretty decent, however. Maybe I'll try another dish next time, but with so many Thai restaurants in the area, I'm unsure I will return to this particular restaurant for pad thai again. read more

One of the best Thai places I've had in New York! Also a good size portion for the price too. I had the roast duck pad see ew and it was so delicious. I thought it's be mixed in but the Duck is just put on top basically. Still good though. The Duck was perfectly crispy and the noodles were so so good. Came here on a Friday evening for dinner. I was in gym clothes and felt severely underdress. The decor is beautiful and the staff is so friendly. The dranks were strong and the good was beyond tasty. I got the sautéed dish with shrimp and carb Rangoon. Both excellent. For the decor and location- the food is def reasonably priced. There's also happy hour until 7pm! read more

This place is great for happy hour. The menu has a lot of options, including beer, wine, martinis, and margaritas. The cocktails are $8 during happy hour. I liked the lychee martini. Service was a bit slow but it's starting to get busy in restaurants again. Loved the Tom yum soup as well. read more

Omg obsessed!!! Walked in for lunch after the gym and was treated with love HONEY. Sat in the front of the restaurant because the playlist was great! Had a lychee martini to start and ordered the spring rolls and the Kra-pow puff! Spring rolls were nicely sized flavorful with the sauce and not greasy 8/10! Now the puffs were recommended by the waiter now these were a twist on the empanada and oh my was this a hit! Tasted like a chicken cheese steak empanada with a touch of basil... yum 10/10! Now main entrees! We had the pineapple fried rice and the spicy noodle Kee Mao! Pineapple fried rice had a 10/10 presentation but the taste was 6.5/10 for me but I also don't eat pineapple like that and it's regular fried rice but I'm glad it had egg in it. The spicy noodle was spicy but really good flavor I like spicy but this is SPICY! So if you love spice try it if not stay away 8.5/10! Can't wait to come back for those Thai empanadas and try some more things from the menu... but for now IM STUFFED! read more

ViV was great! Had a couple cocktails at the entrance and the place felt like a club. Once we got in the back, I was pleasantly surprised how large the seating and tables were. It was really spacious compared to Lum Lum around the block in Hells Kitchen. Loved the foods, service, and especially the drinks! read more

I'm surprised people queued and surprised they actually lock people out. They have a policy of only seating whole parties. My friends were literally stuck amongst the world cup crowds in Times Square such that they struggled to get through and had to detour when they did. They have a 10 minute grace period, but my friends wouldn't make it in time, so I asked if they'll let us sit first as long as we start ordering immediately. They said ok as long as we returned the table by 6:30pm. I thought the 1.5 hour seating time was based on when we actually get seated which considers the grace period. Anyways the timing ended up being sufficient. I think this spot is good for pre-theatre dining due to the large storefront and quick service, but I wouldn't necessarily choose to come here for the sake of coming. Their menu is extensive and slightly confusing given the way they organize by regions in Thailand. I'm uncultured so I won't know what's the difference between each region. It's easier for me to comprehend if the menu was categorized by the ingredients used or size of the dish. Most dishes do not have a photo/drawing included so it was hard to skim through all the options. Their online ordering was way more helpful since it had photos. It was so hard to look for the corresponding line item in the printed version. We ordered: green curry, kao soy kua neur, khao mok neua, curry puff, kaeng hung lay, gai gor lae, and mango sticky rice. Most of the stuff tasted alright without much standout. We requested mild/little spicy for everything and it was true to request. The spiciest dish was probably the green curry, but I think it's tolerable if you eat it with rice. Crowd favorite was the kao soy kua neur which is braised beef with egg noodles. I like how tender the beef is and how chewy the noodles were. My friends didn't like the khao mok neua biryani because of its dryness, but I think it's meant to be like that. I appreciate the spices in it, not too strong but still sufficient. I don't like how they don't have a printed menu for desserts and relied on the servers to recite out what's available. We couldn't hear everything properly and resorted to referencing the online ordering menu for the dessert options. Glad they're the same. Mango sticky rice was the highlight of the night for me. The mango size could be slightly bigger, because right now it's much smaller than the rice. However, I enjoyed the rice a lot. It was hot, fragrant, and not too soft. It definitely felt comforting. The coconut milk on the side had rice puffs (?) in it which gave additional texture.

Now folks, this is my favorite curry of all time -- actually one of my favorite foods of all time -- and while it's common in LA where I used to live, it's not as common where I live now, in the Bay Area. And the restaurants that do carry it usually do not make it right and it's not very good. I am used to Massaman in the traditional preparation where it's more like a beef stew made with chunks of beef and needs to cook overnight. When done right it is the most aromatic curry ever -- it's almost like an aphrodisiac! -- and the beef comes out oh so tender. Usually if places have this curry but then offer a choice of protein, then it generally is not cooked properly, and that is actually how they prepare it at SaiTong. But because of such great reviews I decided to take a chance and try it. Well, let me tell you, it was definitely not the norm...it was absolutely delicious! I had it with chicken (they serve breast as default), and the chicken soaked up the curry really nicely. I also asked for there to be no onions, which I think alters the flavor of a curry too much. It does include the traditional potatoes and peanuts, and the potatoes were fine and cut into nice little chunks, the peanuts actually were thrown in raw.. what I think is the more traditional way which is to actually burn the peanuts a little bit, but that's okay, it didn't take down the dish any. Their brown rice is of the very dark kind, which I like, and goes so well with the curry. Service was wonderful from the bartender but was also provided by the rest of the staff and everyone was so nice. I left there feeling so satisfied, and cannot wait to go back and try some other dishes.

The suits were daily, the walls were gold, and the pressure was so consuming that even success could feel like a form of attrition. After a few years, I moved to a smaller firm with Southern roots, where the culture was more humane, the work gave me greater autonomy, and I produced some of the strongest results of my career, even within an industry still governed by fear, greed, and status. Inside, the red booths, low lighting, generous spacing, and hand-painted monkey murals made lunch feel ceremonial without becoming stiff. The room was timeless and handsome, with polished service, quality food, and the subtle assurance of a place where you could be proud to bring someone important. I especially remember sitting in one of those booths with two mentors, each only a few years older than I was and therefore close enough in vintage to feel relatable, trustworthy, and genuinely within reach. One had entered my life after I left the larger firm and helped me understand an earlier chapter that had also ended abruptly and, at the time, felt deeply unfair; the other had guided me through the smaller firm where I finally found a more sustainable way to work. Over that long lunch, I introduced them, we discussed several promising ideas, and for a moment my career seemed to have reached the point where relationships, experience, and opportunity were finally converging. One of those ideas consumed an extraordinary amount of my time and energy, and I believed it might become the foundation of my next chapter. Instead, the arrangement eventually turned on me, the role I thought I had earned never materialized, and the business itself sputtered. My professional life, financial footing, and pride all collapsed just as COVID was beginning. Then Monkey Bar closed in 2020, which made the ending feel almost unnervingly complete: the restaurant, the city, and the version of myself built around New York finance all went dark at once. For years, I experienced that ending as devastating and unfair; now I can see it as wisdom delivered through an unnecessarily rough process. The restaurant's later revival by a Chicago hospitality group feels fitting because it still honors tradition and ceremony while allowing the old forms to evolve into something healthier, looser, and more current. I have not been back since that lunch, but a return now would feel like visiting the museum of my past, not reclaiming a life that asked too much, gave too little, and finally lost its hold on me. Even now, I remember Monkey Bar as a great Midtown lunch in a memorable room, surrounded by the residue of old ambitions and the gratitude of having survived them. The cocktails were sharp, the service was impeccable, and the dining room carried that glamorous old New York energy without feeling trapped by it. I remain deeply fond of the place, partly for what it was and partly for what it witnessed. Some restaurants become attached to a chapter of your life, and Monkey Bar holds mine with unusual grace.

As someone whose palate is split 50/50 between Western and Chinese cuisine, I could manage only five bites at most. If you have a palate that prefers 100% Chinese food, proceed with caution on this dish. Friends ordered sides of mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. These are dishes originally meant for low-income Americans to fill up on cheaply; there's no limit to how good they can be, but also no floor to how bad they can get. Both were on par with the average quality found in upscale restaurants. Honestly, these are two dishes I would never order myself. To sum up: the atmosphere was great. It's also hard to get a reservation; the place was packed when we had lunch at 2 PM. Aside from that monkey bread, I didn't feel like anything else justified the price or offered something you couldn't find elsewhere. I don't quite get the hype. Perhaps I just didn't order the right dishes; maybe next time I'll try the burger and the steak.

This restaurant, wow... I'll NEVER go there again. First, I should have known it was going to be a bad experience by the B-rating the City gave the place. There has to be something pretty bad about the place for NYC to give you a B. The ambience was fine. Neon lighting and techno music that made it seem like a cheap, karaoke bar on 32nd Street. The hostess was cordial and promptly sat us down at a selected table. Happy Hour specials were great. $5 wine, discounted beers. The menu, while obviously aimed towards tourists was ok to say the least. Kooky descriptions like "It's super awesome, folks" are not aimed at us foodies. Though it took a little while for the food to come out, the appetizer (spring rolls) was delicious and the wine, great. The food came and had a show with it. I ordered the Volcano Chicken which, when served, was set aflame. She ordered the Avocado Curry. Not 5 minutes into eating my meal, I discover a LONG black hair underneath the chicken. I immediately inform the hostess who takes my plate. This is where things went really downhill. A different woman brings my plate back and tries to blame the hair on my girlfriend. I would have been ok has she just apologized and replaced/comped my meal but she decided to play the defensive and accuse my girlfriend. they decided it would be better to try and assure me all the cooks have hairnets and it couldn't possibly be one of them. I would have not gotten upset had they just apologized and replaced my meal. Instead, they got accusatory. When I demanded a completely free meal, they told me "Not possible." When I asked to speak to the manager, they said "He doesn't care. Call the police!" That's no way to treat your customers. I will never eat at this below-grade restaurant again. There are so many other great Thai options, I advise against this place! read more

Unfortunately this will be my last time ordering from ViV after 5 years of being a loyal customer. I usually order from seamless or delivery.com. I used the latter tonight because I had points to redeem. So I called an hour after waiting for our food. Restaurant apologizes for the long wait as they only have two delivery men on a busy Saturday night. Lady at ViV notes my order and guarantees it is already out for delivery. I wait a further 30 minutes. This time I get the manger. She says I previously spoke to a server who made the error of telling me my order was out. In fact, according to the manager, the restaurant has been having issues with delivery.com merchant system (along with grubhub, seamless) and hasn't been getting orders all day. She then tells me that the system automatically confirms all incoming orders. She hastily tells me the chef will make my food on the spot and will send it out immediately and hangs up. Well, I call back because I figure she didn't even ask me what my order was! she then changes her story and says "we found your order. It is here." But it only has the first item (of three) on the order. I tell her the remainder of my order. She says I should have it about 10pm which would make it 2 hours and 10 mins after I received the confirmation of order. It is now approaching 10pm. No sign of food. I called delivery.com customer service to make sure a discount that the manager guaranteed is reflected in my account and to make a general complaint about this merchant and poor conduct of business. Service agent puts me on hold whilst she calls ViV. She returns to my call and says the restaurant keeps hanging up on her. Ok so I can officially say it's past 10pm and this food is nowhere to be seen. read more

V{iv} was fantastic experience with fresh, delicious food in a vibrant setting with lively lights and colors. We visited on a Saturday for a birthday dinner, we arrived at 6:30pm, just before happy hour ended, (12pm to 7pm), The Happy Hour features select drinks for $8 served at both the bar and tables. I tried the lychee and mango martinis, and the drinks are STRONG. For starters, we ordered the crab rangoon, fried chicken and shrimp dumplings, and V{iv} wings. The crab rangoon was a group favorite, a unique twist with additional fillings mixed with the traditional crab and cream cheese, setting it apart from the usual. The wings, crispy with a delicious caramel garlic sauce, were another crowd pleaser. Our waiter recommended three signature entrees: Red Snapper Lad Prik, Duck Tamarind, and Beef Short Rib Massaman. I chose the Duck Tamarind, which came coated in a sweet, sticky glaze with crispy skin. Thankfully the duck had minimal fat, and it was paired perfectly with vegetables and jasmine rice. We called ahead to ask if we were able to bring in a cake without any extra charge. The staff went above and beyond, serving the cake with candles, plates, and napkins, and everyone was also served a complimentary green apple shot for everyone at the table, which was such a thoughtful gesture! Overall, V{iv} Thai is one of the best Thai spots in the city, with exceptional food, fantastic service, and a lively atmosphere. I will definitely be back and bringing more friends to enjoy! read more

I don't write many reviews on yelp, But I rely on yelp for accurate reviews, and most of the time they are pretty spot on. V{iV} got Every thing to the T .... Very trendy!! Cool deco, AMAZING food, great prices, great service, DJ on the weekends. I LOVE this joint! I've come here four times a week with my boyfriend, for lunch, dinner & sometimes takeout, a couple of times on the weekends for Mizz Jay (our favorite FIERCE waitress) Great spot to grab app and drinks with friends. Did I mention HAPPY HOURS are from 4pm-9pm SUNDAY - THURSDAY!!! $3 beer, $5 wine & well drinks! Drinks - -Anything from there special drinks list are delicious and STRONG!!! Hint Tiger Eyes!! Appetizers - -Seafood Papaya Salad was off the hook!!. -Crab Rangoon -Short Ribs -Chai Mai Sausage (You can't find this from any other Thai restaurant in Hell's Kitchen" Main - -Ginger Joy sauteed with fresh ginger, mushrooms, scallions, onions & bell peppers -Sriracha Noodle* broad flat rice noodles stir-fried with chicken & shrimp frolicking in hot spicy sriracha sauce with onions, scallions, bell peppers & basil -HUNG LAY - if you like pork belly then this is the dish for you -Pork Chop If you haven't try V[iV} all I can say is go and try it you won't be disappointed! read more

I'm so happy I found this place. I lived right around the corner so we always like to explore the restaurants in this area. What a pleasant surprise! The decor is very cool dark with blue lighting, club like restaurant but not at all. Crazy fun bathrooms, I especially adore the naked lady statue in front of the bathrooms! HOT!! Start off with having a few cocktails at the lounge, people watching ... Happy Hours (Sunday-Thursday 4pm/9pm, Fri & Sat 4pm-7pm)$3 beers, $5 wine & well drinks! Trust me they are not stingey with their liquor for happy hours. V{iV} is definitely one of the better spot restaurants in the area -- which was what drew me in and when I saw the menu offers OMG CHEAP!!!! I had to try everything on the menu! Their chicken and shrimp steam dumplings, crab rangoons, seafood avocado salad, pork chops, hung lay are among many delicious dishes they offers...I would definitely come back again for those dishes. Other than the food, what really stood out for me was the service. My waitress was very attentive, super friendly and the other servers kept coming over to make sure we were happy. I recently visited V{IV} Thai restaurant and had an amazing experience. The restaurant is decorated in a cool, dark setting that creates a relaxing atmosphere. As for the food, my partner and I ordered the emerald dumplings and the Khao Soi, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The dumplings were packed with flavor, and the Khao Soi was perfectly spiced and had just the right amount of heat. Overall, the menu at V{IV} is extensive and offers a great mix of traditional Thai dishes and modern twists. The restaurant also has plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, which is always appreciated. In addition to the food, the service was excellent. Our server was attentive and friendly, and made some great recommendations for other dishes to try on our next visit. Overall, I highly recommend V{IV} Thai restaurant for anyone looking for delicious Thai food in a cool, relaxed setting. The emerald dumplings and Khao Soi are not to be missed! read more

Love everything about this place. Saw the ad on Next Magazine and was in the area with some friends on a Friday. We were there around 8.30pm and found the place to be packed with people and live DJ spinning. We hung around the lounge for cocktails before heading to our table. The dinning room ambiance was cool and played different kind of music. Our server, Jay, was attentive and recommend us with Kan Tok - which has Chiangmai sausage, pork salsa, pork ribs, pork rind, sticky rice, and some green leaf. And Hung lay - Thai Northern curry that has braised pork belly, peanut, ginger - this was so yummy! We also had their Siracha noodle and Pineapple fried rice which were as delicious. We left with the feeling of wanting to go back again. Will definitely be back to try their lunch menu next time. read more

ViV was the perfect spot for a work lunch! While it was quiet during lunchtime, I've heard it gets pretty busy for dinner, so I'm glad I got to experience the calm side of this place. The interior is so vibrant and fun--it's the kind of decor that instantly brightens your mood. On top of that, the presentation of each dish was incredibly creative and definitely added to the overall experience. Our group of six shared the appetizer platter, which was ideal for a larger group and a great way to sample a variety of flavors. I also had the Pad See Ew, and it was fantastic. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the staff letting me know it didn't contain fish or oyster sauce. If you're a fan of Thai tea, it's worth a try--just a heads-up that it leans on the sweeter side. read more

First of all, I thought this would be another Thai restaurant in HK, but how wrong was I? I was there on a Saturday night and the place was packed. There was live DJ and the place was happening. We were asked if we want to be seated at the lounge or in the dining room, and we opted to take the dining room. The blue lighting looks cool, the gray tone walls and gold panels compliment the lighting. Our server suggested Kan-tok and Hung lay which are amazingly delicious. Both of the dishes are Thai northern cuisine which pretty rare in the city. We also had two of their signature cocktails - Amethyst & Emerald, and they were so good that we ordered them twice. All in all, we had a great time at V{IV} and would recommend it to anybody. read more

I came here on a Sunday evening (6:00 ish) for my anniversary. The staff greets you right when you walk in the door and also inform you on anything that is going on at the time your arrive (happy hour and specials). Our waiters was awesome, patient and fast! I ordered the pineapple fried rice with shrimp and I must say, it was SO GOOD! I can honestly say that my boyfriend and I waited no longer then 20 minutes for our food and the food was nice and hot! I know some places that have the food served cold due to prepared but not this place. Also, my food came served in a pineapple. . .awesome! The atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice. For drinks, we ordered the thai iced tea and the lychee iced teaa which were both delicious. For the entrees, we ordered the Spicy Noodle Pad Kee Mao and the Basil Fried Rice. Both were super flavorful and delicious. The portion size was also sufficient. I did enjoy the noodles more than the rice, but that may just be me personally. The only downsides were that the tofu was less than stellar and that we only received one fork each to use as utensils. We definitely could've used more utensils, like a spoon to scoop the rice onto our plates. I think the service was pretty good considering that the restaurant was packed. We are in the city 10-15 days a month and constantly on the search for fantastic food. We came to ViV early so the place was not packed but by the time we left there was a nice crowd. We got the Tom Kha with chicken, Duck Curry and the Avocado Massaman Curry. The soup was some of the best I have ever had and the duck was beyond my expectations. The skin was crispy, the meat was so very tender, and the broth had a fantastic play of sweet from the lychee and spicy from the curry. When I got our bill I was pleasantly surprised, I actually thought they made a mistake it was so reasonable. This will be our new go to place for Thai when we are in the city. read more

I went to Viv on a busy Saturday night. The wait for seating was reasonable. My drink was delicious. I ordered the Mekhong Delta. The drink was a good blend of sweet and strong. The appetizer came out within five minutes and the entree under ten minutes. The pricing of the food was reasonable especially for NYC. The Shrimp Pad Thai could use more sauce but the portion size was great especially for the price point. Very filling. This business should consider having the waiter come to the table as promptly as possible. We had to ask for a server in order to receive one. Overall, a decent experience. read more

Tried this place for the first time on a recent trip and went here for dinner back to back nights. The hosts and wait staff were organized, friendly, and fabulous! The overall ambiance is so fun. Lots of bright lights, pop music from the 2010's, a lit up dragon, and fun bathroom decor. The food was fantastic. Ordered calamari, pad see ew, Rama 9, and a Papaya Salad on the first night. Had a great experience here! Decor is modern and unique. Food was delicious and plated very well, and our waiter, Klay, was very sweet and attentive. I ordered the Avocado Massaman curry with chicken & it was probably the best curry I've ever had. The perfect amount of spicy and sweet and the chicken was fall off the bone tender. My mom and sister both ordered the chicken pad Thai and they loved it. For appetizers we got the spring rolls and crab Rangoon. Both were hot, and fresh! What a fantastic place to dine, drink, or dine and drink. Toby and his compadre were among the best bartenders I have ever encountered. The cocktails were memorable, and the food reflected pride in presentation and value for the taste. I know that I am from Boston and cannot frequent your venue so often as I wish that I could, but I look forward to returning. Happy hour at VIV! Our waiter, Lego, was great and the beer was amazing! We had the Panang curry with chicken, the ginger beef, the pad Thai, and the sweet and sour shrimp. This was the first place we came to when visiting New York, and it was not disappointing. We definitely recommend coming here if your are looking for a great Thai place with amazing ambiance! Best Thai food in Manhattan! I've been a patron at their Hell's Kitchen location since 2013. The food is healthy and well seasoned yet not overladen with sauces, and let's talk about that gourmet presentation without gourmet prices! Many vegetarian options and the best mock duck pad see ew in city. The ambiance is dark yet colorfully lit. I prefer their quiet daytime hours since evening has a lounge vibe including a dj.
