I first visited Voodoo Doughnut in Portland and loved it! But I haven't been back to Portland since --- and likewise, not to Voodoo Doughnut either. The first thing you encounter at the store is the loud decor, with pink walls, ribbons of pink neon lights, images of voodoo mambos and two display cases: one with merch and the other with artfully displayed doughnuts --- looking more like pastries vs. something you get from Krispy Kreme. I got the Old Dirty Bastard. Not because of the name, which was fun --- because it looked really good. And it was. Chunks of chocolate Oreos on a chocolate coating on a thick doughnut. Yum! The gentleman who served the chocolate was very nice and personable. The price was reasonable (by Venice Beach standards). I'm not often in Venice but when I am, I'll certainly try to stop by again.

I've had Voodoo doughnuts before in business meetings and for someone's birthday, but this was the first time I got to select my own one. The store is small, but honestly that's all you need. A revolving display of your possible choices, you'll know when it's a match that's meant to be. Will be back the next time we need a sugar fix.

I finally got redemption from Voodoo Doughnut. Many many years ago in a land far away from Venice Beach, Portland to be exact I ordered a jelly filled donut. We were vacationing near the store and the night I decided to consume said donut there was no jelly filling. With disappointment I ate it, but the very next day I went down stairs and across the street to Voodoo Doughnut & let them know my jelly donut came with no filling. The person behind the counter, just shrugged their shoulders. So I carried that story with me til I was recently vacationing in Venice Beach and looked up and in front of me was this bright, neon pink building with Voodoo Doughnut written on it. I decided to give it another try. The place was beckoning me to enter. I did. And there they were, Ace, a compassionate human, ready to assist. So I gave it another try & ordered a single Jelly filled Donut, I chuckled & told them my long ass story and they listened. There was no one behind me so they gave me the time of day. After exchange of pleasantries. They handed me the Jelly filled donut and told me it was on the house because all the trauma I went through in Portland, HAHAHA. Wow, and I had every intention of paying but boy did this give me hope in humanity. The "Jelly filled doughnut that's my story of Voodoo Doughnut. BTW their doughnuts are delicious, light and fluffy, a good dough to sugar consistency. And the Venice Beach location couldn't be in a better spot. Ace told me they are thinking of bringing it to San Francisco or Bay Area. I hope so.

I was walking in the Venice Beach area and got a great smell. To my surprise, it was Voodoo donut. The first I ever heard about this shop was in Seattle, so I had to stop by. They have fun type of donuts with fun names and innuendos. I ended up getting the "Butterfingerer". It was like a soft chocolate doughnut with glaze and butter finger pieces on top. It was so good! You must check it out!

I love sweets. I love donuts. I love voodoo. Parked right in front of here before drinks with the girls so of course I had to stop by for a little sweet treat when I left. I got the basic chocolate (because I'm basic lol) and it was really good! Nice a fluffy, good flavor, and the chocolate was nice and soft/perfectly melted. The guy at the counter was super nice and helpful, and patient cause of course after drinks I'm annoying lol. The place was super clean, and overall good vibes!

Okay voodoo donuts is one of my fav spots! I have been in Portland and I love a lot of them including the cereal one, the blunt one, the Homer. Also had the limited edition pride one which was so bomb. Homer Simpson is defintley my favorite tho! The workers were very helpful and helping me pick. Can't wait to try more ! Fun ambiance great fun cool art and vibes. Harry Perry Venice local legend is on the wall which is a great homage! Great Venice spot! Was needed!

DOUGHNUTS!!!!!!!!! The front and inside of Voodoo Doughnuts is very inviting. A rotating case full of choices to tempt you when you walk in the door. Almost too many choices but I always order a cream filled wherever I go. It's a thing. Anyways, I ordered that and also a cherry filled doughnut and a cup of coffee to go. Got home and OMG the doughnuts were HUGE! I actually felt guilty eating them both because they were so bug but they were also soooooooo yummy! Definitely fresh and fluffy. The service was excellent as well. I will absolutely be going back!

July 10 & 11, 2025 | What a bright, festive and delicious donut shop! Voodoo Doughnut is a fun addition to Venice Beach! Colorful, full of surprising donut names & downright sweet! Donuts: Colorful, delicious, and a generous size! Grape Ape is my absolute favorite so far! Not only is it purple, but you can actually smell the grape scent before you even take a bite, it's awesome!! I also enjoyed The Venice Peach, yumminess with a great cause; supporting the LA Fire Department! Score! I absolutely had to get the bubblegum doughnut, as it's a real piece of gum in the center, super cute! Personality Plus: The names of the donuts are just as colorful as the actual donuts! Fun and funny names... As well as a few that will shock you & have you coming back for more to see what name they come up with the next! Hahaha! Decor: Fun, upbeat & pink! Love it! I love the way the donuts are displayed, as they rotate in all of their colorful fabulousness! Music is also key here, as some of the donut names will reflect! You will even see a Venice staple, Harry Perry, framed on the wall! Seen in a popular basketball movie on the big screen, as well as spotting him rollerskating while playing the guitar along the Boardwalk! Location | Back Again: I've gone two days in a row so far! Both times, I've purchased donuts to go; sharing donuts with friends/neighbors & getting donuts for myself as well! You will find the tasty donut shop sandwiched in between the Venice Sign hanging gracefully above and the Venice Beach Boardwalk! Customer Service: Thanks a bunch to both Annaeid & Niko! They were both incredibly friendly from the moment I walked in, throughout my order, helping me decide on some donuts and as I was leaving! Personality plus! Thanks again! Overall: What a sweet treat to have here at Venice Beach! A donut shop with a unique voice of its own! I love it! You simply fit in with Venice Beach by naturally standing out! The full of personality donuts will have you coming back for more! Score!

This is one of their newest locations in LA! It's one block from the Venice boardwalk. The inside is not as big as their other locations. I've been to (Portland and Austin) but has their signature hot pink look. I've been a fan of Voodoo ever since I visited their original store in Portland six years ago. Emily was behind the counter and she was very friendly and helpful. I got the blueberry cake donut, which is one of my favorites. There is no seating inside but the beach is only a block away. It's nice to grab a few donuts and eat by the beach and watch the sunset.

Voodoo Doughnut is half a block from Venice Beach.

Who Do Voodoo? Went down to the new Voodoo Doughnut location on Windward Ave half a block from Venice Beach in Venice CA this morning (they open at 7:00am) and got a maple old fashion doughnut. It was very good and a very good value. If I lived closer (took me 20 minutes to get to Voodoo Doughnut) I would probably go there almost every day. The Voodoo Doughnut location in Venice is a perfect place to bring visitors from out of town. They can see all the amazing doughnuts and then you can walk along Venice Beach eating doughnuts and seeing even more amazing things.

I only stopped by for a drip coffee and a Marshall Mathers donut, since my kids got ice cream next door at Jenni's. Drip coffee was fantastic and strong. Donut was fresh and delicious. Kids and I had a good laugh at all the donut choices. What a strange shop. Staff was very kind and helpful, and the store was clean. There was a lot to look at for sure! Great little spot next to the beach :)

Walked in to voodoo doughnuts in the evening on a Tuesday. It wasnt busy at all, I was able to walk in and order a buttermilk old fashioned, maple bar and a sprinkle cake donut. Despite it being the end of the day, the donuts were pretty fresh and soft. The cake donut was a bit dense, and the maple and old fashioned were nice and fluffy.

Flour Fresh Creme Donut has been around for three years now, so that says a lot about how much people like what they have to offer. I naively went in looking for a traditional ring donut. You won't find anything like that here. They primarily have the Korean-style fresh cream donuts. Again, I was looking for a traditional donut, and the closest thing I saw was the flour twist donut. It was nothing like a glazed twist donut; the only similarity was that it was twisted. It seemed to be baked, not fried. It was very good quality, but I really messed up by not getting a creme-filled donut instead. My friend had a pecan roll and loved it. The quality of the product here is top tier for sure. The prices are premium, but the quality matches the price. They also sell sandwiches as well as coffee and tea drinks. I will certainly go back and try one of the many creme-filled donuts.

**LIGHT AND FLUFFY DOUGHNUTS IN MID-CITY**…read more Doughnuts are one of my favorite dessert snacks, so I had to try this neighborhood spot. The space is aesthetically pleasing, but more importantly, the doughnuts actually deliver. Elevated flavors, light texture, and nothing overly sweet or heavy. PARKING Located in a small strip mall next to a liquor store with a handful of easy parking spots right in front. DOUGHNUTS TIRAMISU Soft, airy, and flavorful with a mascarpone-like cream and generous topping. Sweetness level was balanced perfectly. Rating: 5/5 PISTACHIO As a pistachio lover, this was one I was excited for. Light and fluffy with a gently sweet cream filling. I just wished the pistachio flavor came through a bit stronger. Rating: 4/5 STRAWBERRY Very subtle strawberry flavor with an airy doughnut texture. You taste more of the dough itself than the fruit. Not my personal favorite, but still solid. Rating: 4/5 BLUEBERRY Similar to the strawberry, the blueberry flavor is delicate and not overpowering. Good for anyone who prefers lighter berry flavors without excessive sweetness. Rating: 4/5 Chris, the owner's brother, was incredibly friendly and added to the welcoming local vibe. Prices range from about $4.50 to $8.50 depending on the flavor and ingredients. Love supporting local businesses, and this one will definitely stay in rotation. RECOMMEND.
