Anyone who does not like Waffle House can just stop reading. I am not going to convince you to like their unique brand of pancake eatery. For the rest of you who are in it for the real reason: the food, and working-class ambiance -- this is for you. I love love love Waffle House. I have been to many, in many states. And I have not had one bad experience. Sure there was the time I had to wait longer than I had hoped on a Sunday because I was battling the after church crowd, but that was my fault and I should have known better. Or gotten up earlier. or later. Whatever the case. 3am - hungry and want breakfast food? Come to Waffle House. Especially if you are hung over. They aren't going to judge you because you smell like a brewery. They only care if you're too sloppy to pay. Don't be that guy. Good times can be found over a plate of waffles with friends after you have left whatever place you just closed down. Be respectful of the staff. They're just there to make a living. Noon on a weekday and you're sick of people telling you it's lunch time? I don't stick to your conventional schedule society - you can't tell me when I can eat breakfast! I go to Waffle House. Waffle House will outlast the apocalypse. I saw a meme once that in the South you can tell when "hurricane" or storm conditions are being taken legit when Waffle House closes down. She answered some questions we had on the menu and came right back with our drinks. She took our orders and while our food was being prepared she refilled our drinks. The Waffle House NEVER disappoints. When I told my son we were coming to Arlington one of the first questions he asked was if we could eat here. I introduced him to Waffle House our last trip here last summer and he ate more than I've ever seen him eat before! The food was cooked perfectly to order, despite being really busy the wait time was rather quick. The wait staff was very attentive and would bring refills when needed. The food is EXCELLENT!! Hashed Browns were cooked crispy as I asked for. The Bacon Egg and Cheese Hashbrown bowl didn't stand a chance once my son started eating. He's a very picky eater so I'm beyond glad that we found a place that I know he'll enjoy and not leave the food nearly untouched. The servings are generous and flavorful. You might have a short wait depending on the time you go, but it's well worth the wait. Looking forward to coming back!! read more

Being a California guy I'd never been to a Waffle House. I don't know if they're all like this but this one's great. The food's good and affordable and the service was outstanding. It was crowded when we got there but they're amazingly efficient at turning things over without rushing you. The lady running the show acknowledged everyone as they walked in and kept them updated on their progress towards getting a table. She told us it would be less than 10 minutes and it took exactly 9. Overall it was a great experience and I'd love to go back one day. read more

My husband and I love the Waggle House and very few around town are clean enough to feel comfortable eating at so we were excited to see this new location!!! We went today and we're so annoyed by the choice of music and mostly the volume of the music!!! Never have I ever been so glad the juke box's song ended only for the staff to deposit additional coins to start the next son! you could not have a conversation due to the volume of the music! Busy on Sunday morning. There's very limited seating so if you have more than like 2 people in your party, it might take a little while to be seated (around 15-20 minutes). Aside from the wait, the food is super cheap for lots of food. But when you're up late driving in the dark, you often crave something more akin to an ordinary home cooked meal, and that's where Waffle House grants your wish. Some Waffle Houses are often described as "scary", but I'd say this particular location is only faintly shoddy depending what time you stroll in. I really want to love Waffle House. I like the idea: it's open, it's warm and inviting. You get your comfort food in a laid-back place for a low price. What's better than that? The good: I've had good experiences at this particular Waffle House. I've received exceptional service, and I've met some really nice people. My wife and I visit whenever we have our cars serviced at nearby Chambers Automotive. One visit a few months back stands out: it was fairly cold (winter!) and we amble in. The waitress greets us warmly, we were seated, and I was pretty much immediately given a cup of coffee. I love coffee. We looked over the menus, and I asked my wife - who isn't a native English speaker - to practice her English and order. It, uh, kind of worked: we had a slight miscommunication on the order and ended up getting more food than we bargained for at a higher price than we had budgeted. My wife was upset, and - this is the stand-out part - our server went *absolutely* out of her way to fix the situation and, more importantly, make my wife feel comfortable. She was just awesome, and I wish I remembered her name so that I could give her a shout-out here. She took a really kind, human approach to the mix-up and turned everything around for us. The bad: I actually visited this morning. Again, I was looking for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat while my car was having a routine oil change. A lot of the other reviews here have pointed out that your experience at Waffle House really depends on when you go in. I have to agree with that. Today, my server seemed as if she was single-handedly taking care of me and the rest of the restaurant, while one other worker cooked frantically and looked for back-up. That wasn't a big deal; everyone has staffing problems now and then. I just kind of drank my coffee and worked on a few things. Then... well, I saw the cockroach. It was a small one, a baby, but it had invaded the sovereign territory of my coffee cup. That space is sacred. I waited until it moved to the wall and then stomped it. And, you know, that was fine: worse things have happened in the history of the world than a cockroach. I happily started to dig into my hash browns when I noticed the hair. I... no, Waffle House. No. Not one right after the other. My wife would have freaked, and I'm happy she wasn't present. While, yes, it is possible that the cockroach was a once-in-a-lifetime thing and that the hair was mine, lost valiantly in my fight with the cockroach, that just isn't all that probable. The hair was way deep in the hash browns. I don't want to guess at what happened, and I don't want this review to be base conjecture. There was a cockroach, and there was a hair. I like Waffle House in general. This location was meh. My waffle was burnt(I mean if you can't do a waffle right at waffle house, what's the point amirite?) My friend ordered a chocolate chip waffle, and hers took longer than mine. I thought it was because they cook the chocolate chips with the batter, but no. The chocolate chips were just sprinkled on top, though. She said it was still good. It wasn't burnt so it was probably better than mine. The service was very friendly! The woman forgot our coffee for a while, but everything else was good. This is the only thing keeping this review from a one. My friend and I were stared at by fellow patrons for a good while after we walked in. This made me uncomfortable. I've eaten at waffle house since I moved to America and it's been a part of my life in the south. The usually warm personalities of the staff has been their trademark. This is not the case at this one. I can understand that having a new wait staff yields hiccups in service, but the manager had to do everyone's job including the cook's. I thought it'd be common sense working as a server you'd want to make sure the customer is taken care of, but even the customer next to me was ignored. I steped in because I was in the mood for a waffle while I wait for my phone to be repaired and boy was I in for a treat. I understand this is a waffle house so my expectations aren't high going in.
