The restaurant is clean! The staff is a blast. The food is hot and exactly what I ordered. The grits are good, to level of South Georgia standards. Let's face the facts, it's not easy to find good grits in Texas. Don't tell anyone but the let me bring in my own drink. This is Waffle House and I don't have expectations of anything more. This location offers more. I have to admit that the only time I would go to the Waffle House in my younger days was after a late night off too much fun. I found myself here this winter morning because I had to get my windshield replaced in my new/used truck that I bought just a week ago. I decided to walk to the closest place that I could find that had a hot breakfast. The WH was the place. I had my doubts. I never thought that a 5 star review would be in order but I promise it is. Did I mention that it is clean! One of the gals on the other side of the counter, we have been laughing it up, is clean the outside on the waffle irons at this very moment. There were a couple of fun conversations being tossed around the room. I took in the positive vibe and contributed a few thoughts. We discussed how to make good hot chocolate. When I say we I mean anyone in the place could add their opinion. We had a group conversation about the subject of grits and the unwritten rules of this culinary delicacy. Definitely a fun, open, family environment. This is a good WH. If you are new to the WH I can recommend this location as a place to claim your right to openly join in on WH conversations that come up around the water cooler on occasion. It's Waffle House, I really don't expect much from the waffle House chains when I go inside. I always expect for my family to have to be divided because the tables are not big enough for all six of us. I am usually more lenient and would probably give more stars to a waffle house if the food was 100% on point despite the few flaws I always encounter but at this location three stars is pushing it. I stated above, my family is never able to sit at the same table so we split up. My 16 year-old and my husband's food order was taken before ours and their food came out way before ours and their food looked decent. My food and my three younger boys Food came out and it looked like they took the scraps from whatever hashbrowns they had served on everyone else's plates and gave to us. It was all crispy and burnt pieces. The bacon was not fully done. The waffle was soggy and the butter cup had black stains all over it. It looked dirty and wasn't sure what it was that was on it so I did not use it. I didn't eat the waffle either just because of the sogginess. I couldn't eat the bacon nor did I eat the hashbrowns so it is safe to say I did not eat my food while there. My kids ended up eating their cheeseburger, but did not touch their hashbrowns because of them being so overcooked. I will continue to eat at waffle House, just not this location. read more

These pecan waffle are overcooked, dry, and lacked flavor. My boyfriend and I had to literally est the edges. There was thick batter. The Waffle House NEVER disappoints. When I told my son we were coming to Arlington one of the first questions he asked was if we could eat here. I introduced him to Waffle House our last trip here last summer and he ate more than I've ever seen him eat before! The food was cooked perfectly to order, despite being really busy the wait time was rather quick. The wait staff was very attentive and would bring refills when needed. The food is EXCELLENT!! Hashed Browns were cooked crispy as I asked for. The Bacon Egg and Cheese Hashbrown bowl didn't stand a chance once my son started eating. He's a very picky eater so I'm beyond glad that we found a place that I know he'll enjoy and not leave the food nearly untouched. The servings are generous and flavorful. Being a California guy I'd never been to a Waffle House. I don't know if they're all like this but this one's great. The food's good and affordable and the service was outstanding. It was crowded when we got there but they're amazingly efficient at turning things over without rushing you. The lady running the show acknowledged everyone as they walked in and kept them updated on their progress towards getting a table. She told us it would be less than 10 minutes and it took exactly 9. I really want to love Waffle House. I like the idea: it's open, it's warm and inviting. You get your comfort food in a laid-back place for a low price. What's better than that? The good: I've had good experiences at this particular Waffle House. I've received exceptional service, and I've met some really nice people. My wife and I visit whenever we have our cars serviced at nearby Chambers Automotive. One visit a few months back stands out: it was fairly cold (winter!) and we amble in. The waitress greets us warmly, we were seated, and I was pretty much immediately given a cup of coffee. I love coffee. We looked over the menus, and I asked my wife - who isn't a native English speaker - to practice her English and order. It, uh, kind of worked: we had a slight miscommunication on the order and ended up getting more food than we bargained for at a higher price than we had budgeted. My wife was upset, and - this is the stand-out part - our server went *absolutely* out of her way to fix the situation and, more importantly, make my wife feel comfortable. It was a small one, a baby, but it had invaded the sovereign territory of my coffee cup. That space is sacred. I waited until it moved to the wall and then stomped it. And, you know, that was fine: worse things have happened in the history of the world than a cockroach. I happily started to dig into my hash browns when I noticed the hair. I... no, Waffle House. No. Not one right after the other. My wife would have freaked, and I'm happy she wasn't present. While, yes, it is possible that the cockroach was a once-in-a-lifetime thing and that the hair was mine, lost valiantly in my fight with the cockroach, that just isn't all that probable. I like Waffle House in general. This location was meh. My waffle was burnt(I mean if you can't do a waffle right at waffle house, what's the point amirite?) My friend ordered a chocolate chip waffle, and hers took longer than mine. I thought it was because they cook the chocolate chips with the batter, but no. The chocolate chips were just sprinkled on top, though. She said it was still good. It wasn't burnt so it was probably better than mine. The service was very friendly! The woman forgot our coffee for a while, but everything else was good. This is the only thing keeping this review from a one. I've eaten at waffle house since I moved to America and it's been a part of my life in the south. The usually warm personalities of the staff has been their trademark. This is not the case at this one. I can understand that having a new wait staff yields hiccups in service, but the manager had to do everyone's job including the cook's. I thought it'd be common sense working as a server you'd want to make sure the customer is taken care of, but even the customer next to me was ignored.
