You can find the famous It's It ice cream sandwich here and it's very good!
    Courtney K.

Bottom Line: Souveniors, sundries and MUNI passes in bustling Union Square. This is a busy Walgreens on the Corner of Powell and Sutter. The store is relatively small so the aisles feel cramped and the shelves are packed. Fortunately the shelves are flowing with all of the right stuff for a San Francisco tourist including snacks, beverages, souvenirs, forgotten toiletries and MUNI passes. I found myself in this store seeking a 3-day MUNI pass so I could ride the cable cars, historic streetcar and busses until my heart was content. As it turns out they were out of MUNI passes but I did find some other goodies like Ghirardelli chocolate squares, sodas, and San Francisco's famous It's It ice cream sandwich. As fellow Yelp Elite Rodney G pointed out, this page is NOT for the bright, modern, unique two-story Walgreens located at 135 Powell St. in the very heart of Union Square. The store at 135 Powell St. is definitely the nicest Walgreens I've ever seen but this location at 459 Powell St. is very average, at best. Which ever Walgreens you venture into, be sure to bring your reusable shopping bag unless you want to pay for a paper bag.

Came home for my yearly visit. I love Walgreens in Honolulu I miss the weekly specials. Great service and very helpful, only in Honolulu !

This is the NICEST walgreens I have ever been to. It is located on Powell Street in Union Square and is two stories tall. Filled with everything you could ever think of (appropriate to a Walgreens, of course) as well as a fresh food section with sushi, fresh squeezed juice, smoothies, pastries, salads, fruit, etc. The lines move quickly and the employees are always happy to help. There are a few tables available to patrons needing a space to enjoy their food and it is very clean and well maintained. They always have security at the main entrance as it can get very busy in these parts of town. I highly recommend passing by with whatever needs you may have. It is the best thing available to tourists and locals alike, other than the Bristol Farms located in the Westfield Mall which may be too expensive for the blood of those on a budget!

Nobody panics as long as the things are going according to the plan. Joker- the dark knight. So I wanted to return this gel I bought from them, the day before as I didn't like it. The problem was I didn't had a receipt. I asked this asian woman and she said she doesn't know how to return without a receipt so she went to the big black security guard and after sometime he called me and said 'we can't do it without a receipt and have the right to refuse return to anyone. You can ask Xin and see if he is willing to make an exception. ' While he was speaking I thought 'why am I wasting my time with him?' Anyway I went to Xin and he said after checking somethings he said 'I can return you the retail price which is 15 bucks' I actually paid more than 20 bucks for that. I had to show them my bank transaction ID to make them believe plus it was showing that on his LCD. It's like a problem comes and people actually show their true behavior.

You'll find currently trendy products like snail secretion skin care, hair curlers, bb cream, cc cream, etc. Most of the beauty products (skin care, cosmetics) are from Korea, from brands like Etude House, Toly Moly, and Skinfood. They can also pre-order items from those lines. The Milk Talk body lotion smells like milkshakes. Expect to find really cute packaging but not a lot of English on the packaging. There are testers of most of the beauty products. The shop is tiny but crammed full of clothes, lingerie, stockings, shoes, scarves, purses, jewelry, iPhone accessories and makeup. Not everything has a price but the things that had prices were very reasonably priced. The clothes and accessories are in the $20-$30 range. Some of it was cute - especially if you are a girly girl who likes bows, ribbons, ruffles, lace and faux fur (e.g., faux fur bras). However the material is predominantly synthetic. I couldn't figure out the sizes of some items. The shoes all look small, size 6 small. The skirts are super short. They have iPhone bumpers with Hello Kitty bows, iPhone cases that look like Dior nailpolish bottles I received a free sample and very courteous service. My picks: * Baby Milo iPhone screen protectors for iPhone 5 ($10) * Hello Kitty bow style iPhone bumpers for iPhone 4 * Etude House strawberry lip cream ($6, smells wonderful) * Pocket bunny moist mist - love the bunny packaging

I really like all the products I purchased, though my partner picked up some duds (bad packaging, dry product) so in the future, we will make sure everything is working properly before the return window lapses, because these products are not cheap!

What stood out unfortunately was the lack of professionalism from someone I believe to have been the store manager. Despite wearing a name tag there was no greeting acknowledgment or basic courtesy. Interestingly this level of unfriendliness has not been my experience at Sephora stores elsewhere. Sephora's products are premium priced particularly in today's economy. When customers are choosing to spend their money here the expectation of basic warmth and respect is not unreasonable.
