Excellent breakfast buffet and very reasonably priced. Our server, Thomas, was spot on with kind, prompt attention. Custom made to order omelet bar was a hit.

The coffee and food is oh so delicious! I ordered the omelette and pancakes. What a great way to start from the buffet. You can also order from the menu. I love food!!! Was happy as a lark. Ten stars.

Just ok here. Each one of us order Brisket Benedict and each of us got a hard boiled rather than poach if one of our eggs. Service was rushed and a bit brusque. Hash browns and eggs cold. Could have been much better if hot.

Located in Marriott Marquis, came here for a weekday lunch. The place was packed due to a conference at George R. Brown. The restaurant seems not equipped for the lunch crowd, very limited menu items and seems surprised of the customer volume themselves. Our server was nice but service was very slow due to the fact that they were severely understaffed. Got the Farro Power Bowl with added chicken (personally, for the $17 price tag, chicken should be included). The veggie and fruit items in the bowl were fresh, but the chicken was super dry and almost rubbery. With so many other good options nearby, would not come back again.

We stopped in for breakfast on our first day in town. Let me first say, the food did not disappoint. We opted for the breakfast buffet and it was an extensive layout. The smoked salmon was my favorite, followed by the fruit bar. The ambiance was also very nice. I would say modern country kitchen? My only negative would be the price. I know it's downtown pricing but it still hurt - $30 for one buffet, before the tip. Ouch.

This place was cool for a quick brunch. I opted for the buffet but they also offer an a la carte menu. What I appreciated the most is that the breakfast buffet is offered daily and not just on weekends. They have build to order omelettes/eggs and made to order pancakes. They also have your typical breakfast offerings on the buffet such as breakfast meats, potatoes, sausage gravy, breakfast breads, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. I also appreciated that they offered turkey sausage and not just pork products. Coffee, juice, tea, soda etc. are included in the price of the buffet. They also have a bottomless mimosa add on option in you're interested. I LOVE how open and airy this place is, with various types of comfortable seating. If you're staying at the Marriott or close by and looking for a nice brunch option, definitely give them a try. Cheers to a great time!

Great spot for buffet breakfast while in Houston for X' first gymnastics meet of the season! Fresh buffet offerings, great omelet bar, and have an a la carte menu if you aren't feeling hungry enough for the buffet.

Visited in a Sunday morning. They weren't that busy. Host staff and wait staff was polite. This restaurant is located inside Marriott Marquis downtown. The restaurant was clean. Kids under a certain age (5?) Eat free buffet selection. I ordered the chorizo omelette and it was very good. I looked over the buffet selection and wasn't too impressed. They did have these delicious spicy cheese hash browns though. Otherwise it was traditional food you would expect, runny eggs, sausage links and patties and biscuits and gravy. The biscuits looked a little hard and the cheese selection looked like it had been sitting a while. They also had oatmeal, French toast, and a nice pastry and cereal selection. Overall not as fresh as I'd like it but expected given it's a buffet. The price was $28/adult. If in the area, I'd go again because I like the ambiance and staff was friendly. I think the made to order food is also pretty tasty.

    Crawfish jalapeño cornbread

Went here for lunch the restaurant was fairly empty. Everyone was nice. Food was good. Cornbread was not dry. However they were preparing for dinner service and were all at the back of the dining area. We were not in a rush but new patrons had to wait to be seated like we did.

Located inside the Marriott Marquis. They offer a nice breakfast buffet! In fact, they offer fresh made omelets and mini waffle to-order via your server. This is part of the "buffet"!!! I had a taste of the waffles and they were soo sweet and delicious you don't even need syrup. Also, the server was funny, when she served them she said, "Texas does everything big, except Waffles." LOL Boy was she right. Instead of an omelet I asked if they could soft scramble my eggs with spinach, mushrooms, cheddar, and feta and they obliged. I also asked for no brown/burn which often happens with omelets and those repeatedly used hot pans. They nailed it! I'd like to check them out for dinner in the future (if the opportunity arises).

Mixed sautéed vegetables, hash browns, black beans, avocado, and pico de gallo.

My wife and I are Vegan / gluten-free. The menu did not have many suitable dishes but the chef accommodated us by preparing a very tasty mixed vegetable/spinach sauté with black beans and their characteristic hash brown round, and a side of avocado with green salsa . The dish was surprisingly good and filling. We were so impressed that we went there for breakfast all 4 mornings of our trip to Houston Marriott Marquis. Thank you for not only accommodating our requests but doing it so well. Kudos to the chef !

The dining room is chic and feels very upscale but comfortable with a large open fire kitchen that was really fun to watch while dining. They were very on top of service with both our dining captain and waiter checking on us throughout the evening. For appetizers we ordered the deviled crabs, tuna tostada and wood roasted carrots. All were great but I especially loved the carrots which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main course I had the chicken and dumplings, husband got the NY strip, our friends shared the whole fish and we had the cabbage and crab rice as sides. Everyone was very happy with both their main courses and the side dishes. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they sent out a s'mores inspired sunday for my birthday which was both thoughtful and sublime. Overall we were very impressed with our meal. We were greeted by three different people - one that took our drink order, one that cleared our plates, and one that took our order. All were very nice people and gave excellent service! Between me and hubs, we had a Pan de campo, an order of Gulf Oysters "casino", (4) dressed oysters, a 16 oz dry aged ribeye, a snapper entree and a side of crab fried rice. We finished almost everything except a quarter of the Pan, about a quarter of the rice, and about a third of the ribeye. All were great dishes and would definitely order again. We skipped dessert because honestly none stood out to us. He said their popular dessert is the souffle but they were sold out. Our total before gratuity was about $250 and that included one cocktail. Hubs had their "classic" old fashioned which he said was excellent! Overall, highly recommended if you don't mind the splurge or for a special occasion!

I might have just found one of my new favorite restaurants in Houston. What a great experience!…read more Recently, a good friend dined here and immediately called me to tell me how great it was. She then text our friends group and said we all had to come together and we did just that. She made reservations in advance as this place is popular thanks to recent Michelin Bib Gourmand awards as well as many other accolades. Walk ins are welcome as well. Our reservation was later in the evening so after a night of bar hopping, we ride shared in which I think is one of the best options as parking is limited here or you have to find street parking in the neighborhood. This place is literally a house turned into a restaurant. Inside is just multiple rooms with a couple of tables. It makes for a unique, intimate dining experience, perfect for a date night. In our case, we were a group of nine so we got patio seating. The patio is spacious and well kept, and if the weather cooperates, a great place to hang. One thing that really stood out to me is the amazing ambience of this place. I was told that the bartenders pick the music for the night from the owners extensive vinyl collection. Once the album is in, they play it in it's entirety. The sound system was systeming and on top of the great company and food, we were totally vibing with the music. Customer service was amazing. Every staff member we came across was so friendly, especially our server. The menu here changes. There are some mainstays, but they like to change things up. Their website shows current menus daily. We were told that family style is the best way to experience this restaurant. I am one of those people that will always listen to the staff and go with their suggestions. Our group went through quite a bit of their menu from apps, entrees and desserts. I loved that our server and staff brought our food out one by one in what they thought was the best progression so we could take a culinary journey. We started off light with their popular Dilly Bread. Best bread I've had in awhile. Next was the Texas Tartare. It was my first ever tartare and it was delicious. We then moved on to Fingerlingin Good which was a crispy potato dish with chili crisp and mascarpone. It was potatoes elevated to the highest level and so so good. Next up was Beer Battered Sweet Tots. I didn't think sweet potatoes could be that good. Our first entree was a vegan dish called the Carroty Kid. I could seriously become a vegan if all dishes tasted like this. It was curried. A bowl of jasmine rice would've made it a complete meal. Next we tried another famous Nobie's dish called Nonno's Pasta. Handmade, perfectly cooked tagliatelle with a delicious bolognese. I wouldn't share this next time. Ok, I will, but it was that good. On to the heavier dishes. First up was the Jamon With Your Bad Self. This came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. It was favorite heavy entree. It was high quality, iberico pork steak with shaved brussels and all kinds of other tasty ingredients that when combined made such a tasty bite. We then went to the sea with the Drops of Grouperter. It was good, but not something I would order again. It was a little too smoky for my liking. Our biggest dish that came market priced was the Kick His Ass Seabass. This was a whole fish that was presented beautifully on a platter with all the accouterments to make your own elevated fish tacos. We left no morsel of fish behind. It was absolutely delicious. One of the things this place is really known for is their pies. This was the part I was most excited about. Just like their menu, their pies change up. We got all their offerings that night which they presented on one big platter of goodness. Their main stay and I believe always on the menu is the famous Olive Oil Cake. It's not a pie, but I can see why this is such a popular dessert. I can't even describe it, you just have to try it to understand. The pies we had were the Black Bottom Strawberry Pie, Banana Rum, and the Peanut Butter Pie. I would order all of them again. We all had a difference of opinion on which was the best, but my fave was the Banana Rum. Overall, I was highly impressed with this place and kind of mad at myself for waiting so long to make it here. It had made it's way to the top of my list of favorite restaurants in Houston. I will be back.

He ended up being one of the best aspects of our experience that evening. Our waitress wasn't nearly as good. We started by asking for ice in the water from the waitress since they just give you room temp water. After 10 mins of seeing her serve other tables and ignoring our request, we then figured the water boy would make it happen...and sure enough he did. We then ordered the grilled oysters, which are very lightly cooked, almost seemingly steamed more than anything, but they were very good regardless of the cooking method with the sauces and garnishes and pickle juice added. Next up was ordering the entrees. The menu here is a little strange with numerous vegan choices with strange titles and only a few items with protein. To top it off, there are not many choices period. The waitress explained that the left side is basically the apps, and the right side is basically the entrees. I knew I wanted to try the wagyu flat iron steak which is priced pretty high here, compared to other wagyu flat irons I've had at other restaurants across the US. We couldn't really decide on a 2nd main dish then the waitress mentioned the off the menu special which was a scallop pasta so we picked that thinking it sounded delicious. The entrees come out about 15 mins later, and we take our first bites and we both thought, oh no, if we share the other person across from me isn't going to like this dish because it's too salty. I tried the steak first and noticed the sauce being extra salty, then I tried the pasta and the pasta was way worse, but the scallops didn't seem to be affected. We immediately told the waitress the next time she stopped by....and she just said okay, and walked away. I figured she would go get the manager....but nope...she just kept on serving other tables. At this point we thought to ourselves only the oyster app was decent.....and no reason to look at the dessert menu since we had already spent over $100 on food we could hardly eat. Sure enough, the waitress stops by a 2nd time and asks if we'd like to see the dessert menu. I couldn't leave fast enough and told her we'll skip. Needless to say we both left hungry as the portions were not only not edible, but also fairly small. The water boy also stopped by and offered to turn on the heater if we get cold. Boy, I wish he was our waiter instead. For a supposedly Michelin-starred restaurant, I feel they really got this one wrong.

There were also a lot of families, which was cute, although I personally am not buying my daughter $16 fries. Our waitress was personable and made great suggestions, especially regarding mocktails. This is important for non-drinkers because there are no mocktails on the drink menu, but the bartender will craft something you will like. Even my friend who normally avoids mocktails was very impressed. Apps: Crab Hushpuppies - 10/10: Crunchy, crabby, and came with a fantastic honey butter sauce. Caviar Tater Tots - 6/10: Well done -- they literally whipped the potato on the inside -- but at $37, you are paying more for the caviar, which was missing that fresh, creamy saltiness you normally seek. You also only get 4 tots. I would just get two orders of the crab hushpuppies. Mains: Chicken - 10/10: The truffle sauce was dreamy, and I think they could sell it on the streets. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender, and the dish also came with flaked truffles on top. I normally do not order chicken out, but this dish makes me wonder what I've been missing. Lobster fettuccini - 7/10: I don't think this is the dish to get here. The lobster didn't taste the freshest, and it also didn't have a lot of lobster to begin with. The sauce was well done and clearly made with lobster stock. I would come back, but there are dishes that shine much brighter than others.

Extremely kind service from the hosts through the entire team. The best balance of conversational and storytelling without being overbearing. We never felt rushed and they made the experience feel personal, and felt we truly got to know the restaurant and reasoning behind a few of the dishes just through their excitement. We ordered coffees along with the crab hush puppies, gumbo, avocado toast, and ended with their massive cinnamon roll. It was the perfect spread and everything was so flavorful! (My only critique was I wish the cinnamon roll was warmed up and served with a bit more icing). The interior was fabulous with an amazing aroma. I would highly recommend for anywhere from an intimate date to a group brunch! Beautiful bar as well, I cannot wait to come again another night for dinner. Upon exit, we were also departed with a complimentary cookie - super cute touch!

I know. "Fine dining" and burgers? But that's what I wanted. I searched the web and found the Chefs Table in Vintage Park, and it wasn't too far from us here in The Woodlands, so we decided to make reservations and head there. From the moment we entered, we were treated like special guests. The ambiance is rich, but not overdone or stuffy. Simply classic and relaxing. Our booth felt private and unhindered by conversations of nearby diners or wait staff bustling past. Our cocktails were perfect. The calimari we ordered as an appetizer was probably the most tender and delicious either of us have ever had. And when our burgers arrived, I was so happy. It was exactly what I had set my mind on when selecting my birthday dinner experience. The blend of brisket and chuck was absolutely delicious, set atop a perfectly buttered toasted bun, with some crispy onion straws on top. And the fries... oh my! I rarely if ever eat fried food - so clearly this was my big day to completely go off my standard fare, but those fries had the perfect crunch and flavor. Apparently, when my husband made our resv, he told them it was my birthday, so our server brought out a delightful complimentary spiced cake dessert after we were finished eating - for us to share. It was the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Thank you to the entire staff at The Chefs Table yesterday, for helping to create a memorable and delicious birthday feast for my husband and me. We will definitely be back to try some other delights because the menu is packed full of amazing looking dishes.

I feel like whenever I ask for certain things on the reservation they are never addressed so it was a great start to finally be recognized! Food: We got the beef Wellington, ravioli, naan bread, and sticky toffee for dessert and everything was 12 out of 10. The service was wonderful; our waitress had a true passion and told us the story about the Chef. We truly enjoyed our experience and will absolutely be back again. I think this is one place that I would trust to go out of my comfort zone on food and everything will be phenomenal.

Yet we had to wait for some time before someone came to seat us. Our water glasses were not refilled unless we specifically asked. After we started our main courses, neither the server nor a manager came by to even ask us how the food was; and this is despite the restaurant being only a quarter full. After we finished and were leaving, the person in front did not bother to say good bye or thank us for coming. Very surprising behavior for an upscale restaurant.
