Best Walmart I've come across in a while. Good selection, clean store, competent cashiers, and reasonable lines.

First off let me begin, by saying do not spend money here. I went the week of Christmas. As soon as I parked I noticed a young lady standing near a car that had its windows bashed in. She informed me that she was an employee from Metro PCS, and she had witnessed a crime. She had to call the police, and she advised me that Walmart had no regard for the crime. She was waiting to make the report to the Long Beach Police Dept. (which are much like the Walmart workers Worthless!!!!). However, It may have been committed on their property but that it was not their problem. OK, that really made me mad. I made it a point to speak to some manager. I suggested letting the customers know what was going on over the intercom. At least ask for the owner of said car to come to customer service. Of course that never happens. As I shopped I was afraid someone could break into my car and no one would do anything about it. For some reason in the ghetto people can see crimes but do not do anything about it. As I am shopping I see all the trash from the downtown Walmart. I feel that ALL Walmart's hire warm bodies. The workers are worthless. None of them have any customer service skills. I guess Walmart is cheap because it does not have to hire employees that are worth having to pay hire wages too. The less education, more ghetto, and just having a heart beat, can get anyone a job at Walmart. read more

This 1 star is towards to customer service on phone.. I called to ask for a certain item and this woman said she doesn't accept looking up numbers for my item... I never had a problem before, last time I called l, I gave them UPC # and they were fine with it.. I don't know why the heck this woman can't do it for me.. I asked for an air purifier and to see if the item I was looking for was in stock and she transferred me to a pharmacy.. Lol seriously? And afterwards, took forever to get me to their customer service line.. Etc. I'm not the only one dealing with this; my bf has too. He asked for them to transfer him to electronics and it took him back to customer service lol.. What the heck is the workers at the electronics doing to not pick up. I've been to electronics many times and there's barely workers around that area. Ridiculous. It lead him back to customer service more than 3x. Very upset at this Walmart. read more

This place is rude as fu**, I feel sorry for who ever enters this terrible store. I only come because it's close to home, but it's no good. Customer service sucks! I know you hate your job but no need for attitude towards customers, only reason why you have business is because of them! Plus the fact that all animals are not allowed service or pet is out rages! Poor animals will die in the car of heat strokes! Some people need to have these animals for service and yes some are registered for depression need also! I honestly hate this place and wouldn't recommend anyone going to shop or get prescriptions here because of how terrible customer service is, you can probably be having a great day but once you come here, I swear it will get you in the worst mood ever by the time you're out of there. Horrible experience. I went there last night with my sister and it will be the last time I go there to buy any produce. As we selected our vegetables we noticed most of them were out of date. Fruit flues inside the pre packaged vegetables and mold growing on the bell peppers, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes etc. My sister called a manager on duty over, to show her that they need to check their produce. I was not only concerned for my family, but also for the health of others that buy food there. The manager did not show any interest to rectify the situation. She defended the food, saying it was just those particular vegetables. At least show some concern that most of your produce has gone bad and you don't want your customers getting a food illness. Due to the lack of urgency from the manager reflects on their business and their interest in providing customer service overall. Toss old food out, instead of sending out to "the great beyond." read more

I was there in the auto center to do the oil change for my car, they took almost 2 hours and they was not a lot of cars, they have the lazies employees ever on that location! I highly not recommend to go there if you want to do some service to your car please don't go there! read more

it's the best walmart in the long beach area. it's 24 hours and i love the cheap prices. can't help it. and i love the 59 cents ice cream at mcdonalds. when you're a poor college student, walmart is the best option. walmarts are the same everywhere but if you're a female college student, don't come to this walmart after 9pm alone. i've seen drunk guys walk around at 11pm. they tried to hit on me and my friend... yeah, scary. otherwise it's safe to go in the daytime if you're alone. read more

so, i fucking HATE walmart....but the only reason i am even giving this one any stars is because it is open 24 hours, so that has saved my life a few times. but on to the bad shit... it's weird because this walmart is in a good area, and it's actually nice-looking inside, but it's just the PEOPLE there that are so ghetto. okay, well...it's weird..if you go during the day, it is a nice place, little old ladies walking around...families walking around...but omg, it's like once the clock strikes 8pm or 9pm or something, the store completely changes and like magic, everybody turns ghetto in that stores. but whatever...that's not even the thing that bothers me the most.....the thing that really kills me is the fucking lines. i swear.... they totally remodeled this place so now there are like 30 checkout lanes, i shit you not. now, during the day, they have so many employees on register and its obvious because theyre all just chatting it up, but if you go at night, the whole 30 lanes thing is obsolete because only like 3 lanes are open. and its stupid becuase since this place in 24 hours, they are ALWAYS busy. again, the only reason i come here is because i am the kind of person needing shit at random times, but even at 10pm? i think thats still a decent hour to shop. so yeah...im very ipatient, so i've probably contemplated suicide a few times in these lines. oh, and some of the employees they hire are also really retarded, but it's walmart, so u cant blame em. one time i was in line there were only 2 of us, and the chick in front of me was getting her order rung up and she was like oh i forgot my diapers, so he let her go get them. i knew she was going to be gone for a while so i asked the guy if he could void her order and do mine,he says to giver a minute. she comes back 5 minutes later then starts haggling over the price, and then leaves to go get cheaper ones. the guys really cool about it. i say "wow...are you fucking serious??? i've been here for like ten minutes already" and then i just leave. i fucking HATE all walmarts. before moving to long beach the only wal mart i ever went to was the one in Valencia, and even that one i only went to like 3 times in my life. but at least that one they dont have employees with face tatoos like this one. omg, theres this one mexican chick here who i swear looks like a clown. i think she was trying to do the whole "chola" eyebrows, but they cam out looking like clowns. and she has weird tattoos by her eyes. and its sad because she is actually really pretty but now her face is fucked up....i refer to her as "sad girl" theres also this one black dude who works there who has tatoos all over his neck and face and arms, its gross...he looks like a walking std cuz idk...he just gives off this weird vibe...maybe its his face tatoos.. and he also is a good-looking guy but now, to me he will forever be known as "tatoo face" but yeah...im not hating on tatoos..i have one and am hoping for at least 4 more, but idk...these i encountered here on this dude just seemed yucky. yes, yucky. lol! okay...i'm done hating on walmart now..... read more

The worst services ever. Their was a reason why I hated Walmart. The signs says ask for an assistant to see a bike and I asked 3 employes and none were able to help. I asked the manager and she said someone will be right there to help and I stood there about 10 more minutes and this has been 30 mins overall trying to get someone to help me. I finally had it and got the bike out myself. Never coming back to Walmart ever again. I pay a little more just so I can get amazing service at TARGET!!! read more

I never really go to LB location since Cerritos is closer to me, but long story short ~ I needed ink last minute for the printer at 11pm. Cerritos said the "Electronic Dept closes at 9pm, come back tomorrow ~ (with a rude tone) So I went to the LB (Carson St) location to just try, since they're a 24hour store, and their "Electronic Dept" also closes off early. I never new that I told them, all I needed was ink for the printer, "sorry" that section is closed ~ I asked again, "what can I do, Cerritos store said the same, so the gentleman (D....) was SWEET enough to jump over the barricade, unlock the cabinet and grab the Canon 210 ink cartridges for me. Wow! I was so appreciative to him, I wanted to HUG him! THANK YOU! read more

Always a good experience here. Usually come here for my contact lens. The glasses selection is a bit skimpy.

Came here since this is 24 hour Walmart, but be prepared to wait for at least 20 minutes minimum just for check out. Only couple checkouts are open when there's way too many people... In addition, this walmart does not give you free plastic bags for the things you bought, so you should either bring your own, purchase a bag from the check-out or just simply roll out the cart to your car. read more

I've heard about the horrible reviews on the customer service at this Walmart, which is why I was always reluctant to come here even though it's just a five minute drive away from my house. I would always go to the one in Paramount despite the 20 minute drive. However, I had no choice but to come to this Walmart because I really needed to buy some things for my sister. During checkout, the cashier I happened to be with was Ellie and her customer service was perfect! She asked me how my day was, she made and carried out a full blown conversation with me, and even called me "Ma'am", which is completely rare nowadays! I really like this store and its people, but today i found out the billion dollar franchise don't care about us poor people. I bought $124.00 of kids cloths for my son, and when I pushed him in that big shopping cart, that has a seat, fast through the parking lot, he likes that I helped him into the truck cause its kinda high(4x4), i totally forgot about my bags in the cart, i drive home about 20 min away and noticed i forgot the bags in the cart. I drove back and found the bags gone went to see if anyone turned them in but nothing, the nice lady at the door told me to go to cash register 15 didn't know why but i did they thought i wanted them to reimburse me they said they couldn't do anything but i didn't want anything i take full responsibility and take the loss i have money to buy some more clothes but I consider myself poor, but use and save money wisely. But for the people that cant buy more clothes its terrible that a big franchise couldn't help a poor person with clothes for their kid. Im losing faith in humanity, the people who took and big billion dollar franchise that couldn't help one bit. read more

There is a greeter here who has a shrunken head and reminds me of a Beetlejuice character and it really creeps me out. I mean thanks for greeting me and all but please don't ask to see my receipt because that means I might have to make contact with it. Plus, one time I walked to my car after purchasing my Wal Mart treasures and I stepped on some sort of soft mush. It was dark and eerie with a touch of fog so I had to really get down to see what it was I stepped on. As I came closer to the object, I realized what it was. To my dismay, it was a wadded up diaper that someone dumped after their kid crapped in it. Couldn't they have at least velcroed it back together neatly? What a waste of a good Wal Mart trip. do not order anything online. I ordered a table tennis racket, followed the order on ups, they said it was delivered, i never got it. Then i called, so they told me it was sent to the wrong address, Which was the address of the business that owns the racket i ordered. Then i was told one form another warehouse would be shipped to my house in 2 days. 3 days later i called because of no email confirmation, another mistake by them. the racket was on backorder for at least a month, i guess they didnt feel the need to tell me. I have asked for a full refund and i feel like i will have to all back again to get it. Just AVOID Walmart online and USE amazon. read more

I made the mistake of bringing my car for an oil change. Not only did it take longer than I was told. But the next day when backing out of the driveway, I horrified to see oil on the driveway. I brought the car back to service center, and waited close to 45 minutes to be told that the vehicle had a oil leak, and they cleaned under the vehicle and checked the oil plug. I went home, only to find the following day even larger oil drippings. My best friend gave me the number of their mechanic, so I called and brought the car in for inspection. Much to my relief, the car did not have an oil leak at all. All it needed was the oil plug correctly screwed on. The best part no oil leaks. Just beware where you take car to for any maintenance. read more

Dear Sirs or Madam: Yesterday at your Walmart Store No. 2609 I experienced something that I need to let your know about. I picked up my Mom who at the moment is severally handicapped wanted to do some shopping at Walmart. I told her I would do it for her but she insisted that she needed to get out of the house and since Walmart had handicapped carts it wouldn't be a problem. Upon our arrival I left her at the entrance because she currently only has one knee and walking any distance is quite a strain. I indicated to her that they usually have the handicapped carts right inside the door or a chair and I would be there as soon as I parked. There were no handicapped carts and there was no seating just inside the door she had to walk to customer service to find somewhere to sit. She asked in Customer Service if she could get someone to help her get a handicapped cart. When I arrived in the store I asked her if she had spoken to anyone to assist her and she indicated that she had asked in Customer Service. I saw a young man bringing in shopping carts and asked him if he could assist us. He indicated that he would look outside and be right back. He said all the handicapped carts must be in use and said that she should sit where she was at and wait for one of the customers to come out and ask for their handicapped cart. As she sat waiting, two people came into the store with handicapped carts so we just assumed that the young man did not see them when he checked. After waiting for approximately 45 minutes I saw the young man again and asked him could he please look again. He apologized and indicated that there are only 3 handicapped carts. 3 handicapped carts, only 3 and the store provides at least 25 handicapped parking spaces. The location of the handicapped parking spaces should be looked into as well. With almost 40% of the population in Lakewood ranging in age from 45 and over I would think that you would provide more handicapped carts. I don't have stats for temporary or permanent handicapped individuals that may or may not be included in this 40% population but it seems that this might play a part in obtaining more carts. This also does not account for people that live in other cities in close proximity to this store location that may also be handicapped and shopping at this store location. I don't know what your regulations are concerning the number of carts you have available for the handicapped but when you hired a new manager for this store this might be something he or she might want to look into in helping your handicapped Walmart customers. read more

Terrible customer service in the electronics department. We asked the cashier for help with a T.V. He was busy but said he would be over when he was done. All the T.V.'s are locked up at this location so you can't just put it in your cart. About 10 minutes go by still waiting for help. Another couple walks up looking at the last T.V. that was on sale, same one we wanted. They go and ask for help. The cashier comes over and helps them before us. I tell him we have been waiting and we want that T.V. He says oh we can see if they we have any more but there are none in sight. I get really mad and ask a manager to look for us. Of course no more of this T.V. in the store. The manager tries to offer us another T.V. at a higher price. So we end up having to drive to another Wallmart, which was very inconvenient. Needless to say I will never shop at this store with employees who don't care about the customer and who was first waiting for help. read more

Worst vision center I've ever been to. My girlfriend originally got ger glasses done at the walmart on 5th street. But since it closed down we decided to go to this vision center since its an actual walmart vision center. My girlfriend came in and got her lenses redone since she got the Nikon Anti-glare coating with the 2 year warranty. It has been over a month since we dropped off the glasses to be remade and done. It shouldn't take this long for lenses to be remade. Walmart vision center employees cant keep their word, change stories everytime i call and make up different excuses everytime for delay on the glasses this is unacceptable. This is somebody's vision you are dealing with. I asked them to expidite the glasses and make sure it is done and here by the end of the month. Now they say by the beginning of September and we droppes off the glasses at the end of July. JULY!!!!! Horrible vision center. Just goes to show how walmart truly cares about their customers/patients that they wont do whatever it takes to keep a customer or patient. read more

Well this is Walmart, so you're not going to expect any good customer service at all! The last time I went there I wanted to buy 1 stick of deodorant. Apparently someone had ripped it apart from a two pack. When I went to check out they notified me of this. I told them I only wanted the one. They told me they had a single one on sale and said I can go get another one but lose me place in line (I was buying a bunch of other things as well). I told them I didn't want to do that (because those lines are always soooooo long). They stared at me doing nothing, like I was retarded or something. Finally my boyfriend said he would go searching for one for me. I think it's bull crap how there were two women at the register and neither of them could go grab one for me or at least help me out a little. I usually get in a pretty bad mood coming to Walmart because it just reminds me of how lazy and stupid some people can be. read more

The doctor who performs the pediatric eye exams suck! I was told by my daughters pediatrician that she did not pass their basic eye exam so she needed to visit an eye doctor for further testing. First off Walmart did not accept my insurance which should have been a sign but, due to the cheap frames $9.00 I paid for the exam. Boy was that the wrong thing to do. My daughter had been complaining of headaches and blurry vision. I did inform the assistant of that I also told her that this is her first REAL eye exam. Needless to say she either forgot what I told her or she just did not give a flying fu@K. The initial exam with the assistant started off fine until she got to the part where my daughters pupil's needed to be dilated. Well she didn't tell my daughter (7 yrs old) or me that the solution was going to burn/sting her eyes and that she was going to blow the air thingy into her eyes. My daughter screamed at the top of her lungs because the assistant put too much solution in her eyes. I should have left but the dr came into the room and told me that her part was the easy part. I must say that the dr's part was very easy. She did a half a$$ exam and told me that my daughter was pretty much faking her condition. I took her to Sears optical later that day which actually did take my insurance. She saw a wonderful dr who diagnosed her as having an astigmatism and also being farsided (if that's the correct word). If you have a small child or even an older child who has never had an eye exam please spare them the abuse and don't take them to this Walmart! read more
