Came for brunch and the food was pretty good but I will get back to that after I rave about our amazing server, Lindsey. I think too often we take for granted great service because it's expected.... and as humans we too often find time to complain but not enough time to appreciate the wonderful human beings that put up with us and our BS in the service industry. I ordered the whiskey cake and the lemongrass shrimp and soba noodle. I came with a few friends and we all ordered something different, but everything I tried here was really good. I wish that what I ordered was more noodle than salad, as it felt more like a salad than a noodle dish but the flavors and combination of ingredients was perfect. I loved the sauce, and this inspired me to put more thai flavors in my food. The whiskey cake was my favorite part of the evening, however. I normally am not a fan of toffee, but the cake was so moist and the first bite was a beautiful explosion on my tongue. My husband and I sat at the bar too tonight and we had an amazing dinner! We started off with the fried green tomatoes ( must have if you're a first timer here) and for our entrees did the fish&chips and the chicken melt and had our side be the Mac n cheese. 20/10 stars. Despite the full house, we were seated quickly. It did take 10 minutes or so for our server to get to us, but afterwards the service was good. I got the Chicken Birdger which was yummy! ALL FOODS COMING OUT OF THE KITCHEN LOOKED AMAZING, and it was pretty difficult to not stare at what everyone else was getting. In the end we got the following: - Tara Gone Girl (amazing alcoholic drink that hit the spot for me. And, as the name suggests, there is taragon in there) - lemonade (hubby was the designated driver) - bowl of turkey chili (ugh, so good! It's what a good bowl of chili is supposed to be about!) - house soup (i think it had piri chilies in it and I may have had a spoonful before hubby inhaled it) - local board (cheese, fruits, breads!) - pickled rachel with fries (it's basically a really good reuben sandwich but a play on the name - another sandwich on rye bread with beef and collards? With the above, we were too full to try and get dessert. We didn't fully realize on the portion size when we ordered, so there was quite a bit of food leftover. Whoops! Overall, ALL of the foods was amazing: smelled great, tasted amazing, had a high level of care on every plate, and it was an amazing experience. I definitely inhaled more than a few thousand calories in this meal that I'm still trying to lose, but I think it was pretty worth it. I visited Whiskey Cake for an early solo lunch. As a party of one, the bar area/shared high top tables were my only seating option. I didn't like that, but I was able to get in and out before the area got too crowded. The server was really nice and provided great service, so that's always a plus! I started with the Endless Summer cocktail. It had bourbon and rhubarb, so I instantly knew that it would be an interesting drink. It was a good choice! For my entree, I chose the Chicken and Waffles. Unfortunately, the waffle was lukewarm. It came with gravy and syrup. I wasn't sure how to mix the two, so tackling the dish was a bit confusing. With that said, I thought the waffle, chicken, gravy and syrup all meshed well. My only regret was not trying the Whiskey Cake, but I was too full. read more

My sandwich came out soggy, the bacon was crispy on the part sticking out of the end of the sandwich but soggy and grossly floppy on the middle inside the sandwich, also was missing the tomatoes. We were served the brunch menu and flavor wise, it was ok. I had the steak salad...the steak was good but the croutons were chewy and not crunchy. For a $21.00 salad, that was disappointing. The presentation was also messy...kind of looked like they dumped the vegetables from a bag without much thought or care. We ordered the jalapeño cheddar biscuits for appetizers and it just lacked flavor and spice. The chicken and waffles were underwhelming. We went for first time June 10th around 5:00 PM, we loved the ambiance. Ordered a couple drinks and Happy Hour appetizers (Meat Board) (Wood Fire Snap Peas) and they were great, bartender very good. Then we get the Chicken and Cheese Sandwich, i asked for the bacon and avocado to be on side, it wasnt so they sent back to the kitchen and we take the sandwich home. Once we get home to eat it my husband noticed the cheese wasnt put on the sandwich and it looked like they just scraped everything off the sandwich, just used chicken, didnt remake. Reading the menu I should of had Chicken, fontina cheese, tomato, lettuce still on the bun. Ugh very upset especially since the price isnt cheap. read more

We started off with a French press coffee and the mimosa package which included a champagne bottle accompanied by two juices. I ordered the farmers breakfast which came with two jalapeño bacon biscuits, scramble eggs, maple bacon, potatoes and gravy. It was was super delicious and very filling. We also got the hangover burger which came with an egg and fries on the side. We ended the meal with the whiskey cake, which was warm and drizzled with caramel and pecan nuts. At both times the food was excellent and the waitstaff were professional and courteous. The menu is diverse, and everyone should be able to find a selection to satisfy themselves. Pricing is a bit on the high side ($$$) to be a daily lunch spot, unless you're Jordan Belfort, but the atmosphere is appealing to become a regular haunt. I have yet to meet a Whiskey Cake I didn't like. One of my favorite desserts in the world is a sticky toffee pudding in England. The closest thing in America is this Whiskey Cake. Both are date based cakes smothered in toffee joy. I also love the drink and food selection at Whiskey Cake. They have an extensive bourbon and Whiskey list, and their bartenders are top notch. When you walk up you see several signs Mask are required and an abundance of hand sanitizer. There is always a host that greets you and even smiles under their mask. For the main meal I had, I think it was classified as a pork brisket or something but turned out to be like a pork chop or chicken breast shape lol. It was kinda dry and was prolly something I wouldn't recommend. To drink I had a little rye lie or something like that, tasted basically like an old fashion, but it was good.
