I tried this place for a girls' brunch, and it's not bad. The Farmhouse Benedict is decent but needs more flavor; the pulled pork was bland and seemed like they just slabbed it on there and used the hollandaise sauce to bring it back to life. I am so sad to say I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. Every location is constantly crowded (reservations really are a must) so I figured when we finally were able to go, we would have our socks knocked off. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The branding and aesthetics are ON POINT. The whiskey cake IS delicious. But that's really where it ends for us. The restaurant is incredibly loud - my husband and I sat right next to each other at a small table and still had to yell. We both felt everything was overpriced - portions were not hearty at all, the margarita was served in an odd glass and small for the price, etc. It was just overall, a disappointing experience. It seemed like this place is more of a "see and be seen" kind of spot and it really wasn't for us. I do want to give a shout-out to our server Madeline T as she was the best thing about our visit. Really like this place! While I waited for my friend, I ordered a mimosa flight - which consisted of pineapple, oj, cranberry and grapefruit. All were very good although if I had to pick a fave, it'd be grapefruit. Once she was there she ordered the same and then we placed orders for food. I got mussels and she ordered the Farmer's Breakfast. I loved the mussels. There were bits of ham in it and the sauce was very tasty. My friend seemed to enjoy her entree as well and commented how she loves their bacon. We also shared the whisky cake! I can see why it's popular there. It came with homemade whipped cream. Bday of my friend. We enjoyed the food very much but the dining room was totally outdated, chairs was too low and I requested a higher chairs which they didn't have or gave me an excuse. I was very disappointed when we arrived with the setting of the dinning area. Our server was slower which has been a whiskey cake history, we waited for drinks for a looog time, meals came out on time. Everyone enjoyed their meals and loved it. Will definitely come back to enjoy those meals, and would like some changes with your dining rooms, and do ask guests what type of seating you have left during the reservation period. Staff was so accommodating and nice. Our first time there for brunch. 12 of us. The a/c blowing on our heads was not comfortable, but we managed. The coffee in their French press was great. The problem was spicy food. We love Mexican food but this was beyond spicy. 3 of us had to send food back because of the very spicy burgers, spicy fried potatoes, and spicy eggs benedict. Was not expecting that. Then came their chocolate cake with rum and pecans. The pecans must've been marinated with cayenne pepper cause they were also very spicy. I've been looking for a farm to table restaurant close to me and I think I've found it. It's been on my list for a while but we finally had a reason to visit, the Dallas Power Outage. Lol The restaurant feels like home but modern and clean. The service was great and free WiFi. The food is freshly made and all natural ingredients. We had the pork chop with succotash which is super popular and really good. We could smell the grill before we walked into the restaurant. We also ordered the fried green tomatoes. The Jessica Wabbit non-alcoholic beverage was refreshing and so good. We finished it off with the whiskey cake, which I would highly recommend super rich, flavorful and really good. We used to love Whiskey cake, but the food was not that great today. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We started with the buffalo chicken deviled eggs. They honestly had almost no flavor. The side salad was fresh and dressing was good. My husband had the surf and turf. The filet was over cooked and didn't seem to be very good quality, but he enjoyed the shrimp. I had the pork chop with cauliflower parsnip mash. It had a delicious flavor but when I got to the middle it was raw and bleeding. Really hope I don't get sick. I'm not sure we would eat there again honestly. read more

We came here today and it was soooo packed, however we sat down in their lounge area and a server named brad helped us out. He was attentive and great. I highly recommend getting the "paper plane" cocktail. It is delicious. Or get a whiskey flight. Very good price for good whiskey. Food is also very good. I have had their double double burger with fries and their home made mustard seed ketchup and it was delicious cooked medium like I asked and with Gorgonzola on the side. Such a bright and bubbly personality from Dom and we thoroughly enjoyed watching Rhonda multitask with precision, making multiple drinks at the same time, quickly, while directing servers to their particular orders and socializing at same time. Very impressive. The total vibe in this place is very inviting and booming. Loved the food, immensely! My husband had the fish and chips, for which he said was the best fish and chips he's ever had. We used to love coming here for brunch, but two weeks ago they changed their menu. The farmers breakfast was our go-to. They took away the jalapeno biscuits and replaced them with plain ones. They completely removed the green chili grits from the menu. These two things were what made this breakfast special and different than any other breakfast. Without them, the plate was just average. Our server was never around, we'd finish our drinks and would wait for 10-20 minutes for a refill. My dad ordered a drink and when he finished it he ordered another, and the server forgot. I have been here multiple times with work and friends. This last time we had a reservation for Valentines Day and it was amazing. They decorated the place for the holiday and it was so pretty, the restaurant is always beautiful anyways. Our waitress helped us choose drinks and I am glad she did. The lemon drop martini was sweet and delicious. I went with the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and I was very pleased. The sauce that comes with it is really good and pairs well with them. The salmon was my entree and it was grilled to perfection. Lastly, you have to finish the meal with their whiskey cake. That is what they are known for and it's for a reason. I'd been wanting to try this place. I had to order the namesake dessert. It wasn't my favorite, but I'd eat it again. I would not recommend the chicken sandwich. Do you remember the chicken sandwich in a sesame bun that burger king used to serve? Not sure if they still do because it's been years since I've been to one, but wow the memories of that fast food sandwich came back. So it was edible, but really disappointing especially for the price point. You can see from the image that the chicken breast was thin and really dry. My friend's pasta dish was good. Finally got to try out Whiskey Cake after hearing so many great reviews about this place. My family and I went to celebrate my younger sisters birthday, while making the reservation I had mentioned that it's her birthday. By the time we arrived and got seated there was a signed card from the whole staff at Whiskey Cake wishing her a Happy Birthday! What a sweet gesture by the restaurant (I havent seen this in other restaurants) I ordered a bunch of dishes and will start with the appetizers: 1) Duck Wings: 8/10 This was my favorite thing ordered, sweet tangy and SPICY. Wings weren't overcooked at all, however the only reason I knocked off two points was the portion, which were 3 wings. 4 or 5 would have been a fair amount for the price paid 2) Goat cheese Fondue: 7/10 Warm, creamy, spreadable cheese with olives and roasted garlic on fresh toasted bread. This was delicious as well, but again the portion was small esp for the amount of bread we had recieved. 3) Fried Green Tomatoes: 9/10 YUMMMYYYYYY another fan favorite. The tomatoes were crispy on the outside and you can tell they were fresh tomatoes with every bite. The aoili added the perfect kick with each bite. I would definitely order these again. 4) Mussels in Coconut sauce 10/10: definitely getting these the next time I go. I ended up ordering this as a meal (although its intended to be an app) and the broth was so flavorful, chilis were spicy, and fresh thai basil with each bite, the perfect toasted naan to dip into the broth! I thought the portions were great and fairly priced. Main Entrees: I honestly would go back here for the apps, none of the entrees were memorable. We ordered the salmon, rotisserie chicken, and two different styles of chicken sandwiches. All of us agreed that the sides tasted WAY better than the actual dishes. I would definitely get the brussel sprouts and farro with butternut squash again, but I wouldnt order any of the entrees again. Lastly THE WHISKEy CAKE! YES IT IS AS GOOD AS THEY SAY. You CANNOT come here and not get the dessert. Staff was great, so helpful and attentive with the service. Very knowlegable on the drink flights they have. id give them a solid 12/10! My husband and I sat at the bar too tonight and we had an amazing dinner! We started off with the fried green tomatoes ( must have if you're a first timer here) and for our entrees did the fish&chips and the chicken melt and had our side be the Mac n cheese. 20/10 stars. We got all the appetizers and the goat cheese and bacon were my top two favs. We also got the hummus and duck. I liked the taste of the duck but I'm used to more chicken wing looking duck wings and this only came with three and probably wouldn't do it again. For lunch I shared the tri tip sandwich and Mach and cheese. The bacon jam on the sandwich was bomb and could have used a little more. Like I said, I'm from Cali and spoiled rotten with some of the best tri tip out there. They shaved it, which is like the worst way to eat it. We were served the brunch menu and flavor wise, it was ok. I had the steak salad...the steak was good but the croutons were chewy and not crunchy. For a $21.00 salad, that was disappointing. The presentation was also messy...kind of looked like they dumped the vegetables from a bag without much thought or care. We ordered the jalapeño cheddar biscuits for appetizers and it just lacked flavor and spice. The chicken and waffles were underwhelming. Chicken and cheese melt used to be one of my favorite sandwiches. Unfortunately it has changed for the worse. The bread is chewy and lacks luster. My sandwich came out soggy, the bacon was crispy on the part sticking out of the end of the sandwich but soggy and grossly floppy on the middle inside the sandwich, also was missing the tomatoes.
