This place has such good authentic dim sum for such a good price! We ordered boxes and boxes of food and maybe spent $12 per person. Make sure to bring cash though!! To order, you stand in line and order at the counter, which has all the dim sum on display. The workers speak some English which is great for poor Chinese speakers like me lol! We got a huge assortment of dim sum, from dumplings to big pork buns to sew mai. Some notable ones were the baked BBQ pork buns (steamed ones are too doughy and not meaty enough) and the big pan fried potstickers. The taro dumpling was interesting, I had never had anything like it before but I liked it. The pineapple bun was disappointing because there wasn't any filling in it. Damn the steamed and baked buns were GOOD and affordable! The baked bun had a good ratio of filling to bread, the steamed we wish was a bit closer to that ratio but the flavor was incredible. Another one of those, can't believe I didn't review it places. My friend was kind enough to point me here whenever I had errands in the neighborhood to get her two favorites: the large chicken bun and the pork and vegetable bun. This take-and-go dim sum shop is similar to stores that you would find along Stockton St. or Jackson St. in Chinatown but, must admit, the quality is more consistent here. Pretty decent well known bakery in the area. Their dim sums are on point. As a personal opinion, there were a bit too much rice on the lotus leaf wrap compared to other places. They're $5 a piece. Other smaller dim sum items were about $4 for 3 which is I believe on the pricier side for these places, but inflation I understand. We stopped by Wing Lee Bakery this past Sunday afternoon hoping to grab a snack for our flight. It was conveniently across the boba place we were gonna check out. Today I wanted to get some comfort food for lunch and I got the preserved egg, lean meat porridge, and the combination bun, but I was so disappointed with all three of the items I ordered. The porridge taste was good but I only got two pieces of meat for $4. The combination bun was bigger than my hand.But the ingredients inside the bun were so small, two slices of chicken, a quarter size mushroom, 1/4 egg and a half inch of Chinese sausage for $3.40. Came here to pick up food for late lunch party, and the amount of food I walked away with relative to the price I paid was crazy good! This isn't my go-to takeout dim sum spot, but my parents and ordered from here so I decided to give it a try. I came by around 330pm and the selections was a bit low but I still ended up with some fan favorites like the har gow, pork siu mai, potstickers and a couple different sticky rice. The har gow and siu mai was pretty good. I thought the potstickers and sticky rice were middle of the road. 3 pcs I think ran around $3 an order, and I got a ton of food for around $60. The amount of dim sum options are not as much as my other spot, but they got the classics which was what I was looking for,. I walked next door to their rice plate/hot food offerings and ended up with a whole peking duck, crispy pork belly, and 2lbs of fried rice. The crispy pork belly was hella good. fatty and greasy in all the right ways, and the duck was a hit at the party. For the whole duck it was $23 and the pork belly was $17. $4/lb for pork fried rice, all very good deals when ordering for a bunch of people. For feeding 12+ people, and spending around $120, people were full and felt satisfied with the meal. This made party planning a breeze, although I wish I would've hosted earlier because they were out of a bunch of dim sum items and it was kinda slim pickings. The line moved pretty quickly and I would say the couple of ladies working there are really efficient at fulfilling your order and getting you on your merry way! Ordered shumai (3), shrimp har gow (3), bolo bun, sticky rice wrapped in leaves, a peanut dumpling, and tofu skin wrap. My favorite is probably the sticky rice wrapped in leaves as its quite flavorful and there's pieces of marinated chicken inside. The rest of the items are pretty standard dim sum items and while I would certainly come back, I didn't find the food to be particularly unique. Wanted to get my dim sum fix without waiting in ridiculously long lines, so we stopped by Wing Lee. We went on a Saturday around 1:30pm and waited around 5 minutes. Service was very no nonsense and we were in and out quickly. I'd recommend studying the menu and knowing what you want in advance so the ladies don't give you the stink eye... I know that's easier said than done since there's so many options! Also note that its cash only. Here are a few items that we ordered ranked from favorite to least favorite: #1 Lo mai gai: Fresh sticky rice and meat wrapped in banana leaf. I shared one with my boyfriend, but regretted not getting one for myself later. #2 Sesame ball: Super fresh and crispy! The buns were huge; there was definitely a lot of bread, but the meat portions were quite generous too--especially for the prices. I thought the chicken was okay and kinda bland, but the pork was tasty. And a special note about the sesame ball--it was so wonderfully crispy on the outside! I do think Lung Fung Bakery across the street has better pork buns (which are juicier and more flavorful). Lung Fung is also a bit cheaper--at least for the meat buns, which I was only paying attention--but their buns are smaller than Wing Lee's, so I guess for the price/portion ratio, both places are equivalent. I had been going to this bakery for many years. They have a good variety of dim sum and baked goods for reasonable prices. They're always fresh as well. My favorites are the shrimp dumplings, stuffed bean curds, sticky rice balls, chicken buns, fried tofu, shrimp celery dumplings, and the shrimp chives dumplings. I can taste the freshness of the shrimp in their dumplings. The chicken buns are so big and filling. The fillings in the chicken buns are shiitake mushrooms, Chinese sausage, chicken, and egg. I had also tried their banana cakes and chicken skewers. The banana cakes come in two different flavors. One has red bean paste and the other one has custard filling. The red bean paste filling ones are too sweet for me. The chicken skewers are fried and they're too salty. I wanted to try their baked buns, but they're always sold out.
