Was walking past this bakery recently with my 2 little ones when it was closed and we stopped for a moment to peek in the windows and take a look inside. A few moments later as we were walking away I hear a man yell "looks like you guys need a loaf!" and he ran up to us and handed us a big loaf of bread and then went back inside. I was so taken aback. I was first introduced to Wingen Bakery by my aunt and uncle when they were still operating out of their home. I have never had something I didn't like. Our most recent experience on Sunday was fantastic! It was suggested that I try the Cuban sandwich and they did not steer me wrong, I would have it again in a heartbeat. The egg sandwich and ham and cheese croissant was delicious. One of the best egg sandwiches I had. We also got the open face salmon bagel but we thought it was subpar and might be too much capers and cream cheese. We tried the kouign amann, it was a little too sweet for me but my husband thought it paired well with his vanilla latte. I also got the chocolate strawberry latte and I liked it, it's a seasonal flavor and it does taste like chocolate strawberry. read more

This weekend was one for the books! Josh and I got to formally and officially ask our wedding party if they want to say I do with us on the big day/ kinda a mini engagement party! What better place to celebrate how much we love each other than the Waylynn room at Wingen bakery. The entire party would not have even been even a little bit possible if it weren't for the magic of Aimee and Bryan. Not only did they have the PERFECT party room, but they put their hearts (and scrumptious local/high quality ingredients) into the food and beverages provided for our special night. I wish I could have 5 more engagement parties just so I could work with them over and over again. The menu was made for our preferences (mostly vegetarian, with light meat eater options) and after a few thoughtful questions Aimee even found a way to make the food all about us, and met my fussy diet requirements. We cannot recommend their food enough!! When we showed up to decorate the Waylynn room was ready to go as a blank slate and Bryan did everything he could to help us organize decor, and even provided a step ladder and any tools we may need. As the party grew closer we were rushing to get everything up and at the perfect time Aimee came up and gave me the most perfectly fudgey chocolate cupcake to try (my first bite all day since we were running around) and it was exactly what I needed to pull everything off, and she even surprised me with the most perfect pink sprinkles to match my color scheme. They worked with me to make payment a breeze so that I didn't have to worry about it the day of the party and Bryan curated an awesome wine and beer menu (including a special sparkling rosé for me and the ladies). If you are looking for the perfect place to host an absolutely party, small event, or anything in between you have to make sure to talk with Aimee and Bryan about it because they will guarantee a special day. read more

Finally moseyed into Wingen Bakery for a breakfast bite. I cannot recommend the ham and cheese croissant and the blissful bagel with cream cheese highly enough! The blissful bagel has a myriad of savory flavored seasonings on it. I'm not sure exactly what the seasonings include, but it is better than the typical everything bagel. It was like a gourmet everything bagel. The ham and cheese croissant has significant filling. There was also a delicious surprise of occasional sea salt. Nailed it. My only wish was that they would have warmed the bagel and croissant up for me. Not sure if they offer that, but I got the vibe that they didn't. Worth asking next time. Wingmen Bakery is a cute little bagel and cafe shop in the heart of downtown Livermore! I wanted to love this shop due to their story and background, but I was left a little disappointed. First, their bagels are very chewy. I'm not sure if that's because I'm not used to sourdough bagels, but it was difficult to eat. Also, they do not have any vegan options besides the avocado toast. I ordered the veggie bagel without the cream cheese, but it was not worth the $13 just for a bagel and avocado. I would suggest they add a dairy-free cream cheese option to cater to vegans and people with dairy allergies! Personally, I wouldn't mind paying an up charge for that option! read more

Husband and I went on a Saturday which probably wasn't the best idea but we went anyways. We ordered sea salt bagels with the exception of my husband who ordered the bagel sandwich with smoked salmon. I tried a couple things from their baked goods the brown butter chocolate chip cookie and the maple cookie. Husband said the salmon bagel sandwich was fresh and he enjoyed it. My sea salt bagel (which was supposed to be almond butter but that's fine) was very good and fresh. The cookies both had a short bread taste to it which I like but just a tad too sweet. It doesn't mean I won't be going back to try other items in their bakery display. They were very busy but seemed to be pretty organized. They also had a private event going on in their dining room which I thought was pretty cool. We didn't have to wait too long even though there was a line. We will definitely be going back! read more

I've been wanting to visit Wingen Bakery for a while now and finally had the chance. I used to visit them at the farmer's market, but I'm so happy that they opened their permanent location in Downtown Livermore. It was easy to find and pretty slow when I came in, about an hour before closing. They had a few fresh breads, bagels, and cookies on display for purchase. They offered a small, but respectable menu. A few of my favorites were smoked salmon bagel sandwich, jambon-beurre, brown butter chocolate chip cookie, and the breads (duh!). Their breads are excellent: fresh, delicious, and made from high quality and organic ingredients. They also serve coffee and espressos, using Four Barrel beans, as well as beer, and wine by the glass, and non-alcoholic drinks. Their staff is extremely kind and generous. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything from this adorable bakery. Do yourself a favor and stop by this establishment. read more

I bake- a lot. Every day when it isn't a million degrees outside- so I was very excited to try this bakery and it did not disappoint. I got there before they opened on a Thursday (7:45am) and there were already two people in front of me. I love that this place uses organic flour- that's wonderful- both for us as customers and for the environment. But does the bread taste good? Absolutely amazing. I order 4 banana muffins- at 4 dollars each those are SF prices, but they are the best banana muffins I've ever eaten. So I will be back for more. Even the one person in my family who doesn't LIKE bananas insisted on eating hers (which was very sad, since I was planning on eating it when she didn't want it.) I also bought 1 olive bread loaf and 1 sourdough. The olive loaf had black AND green olives- and was a family favorite. I served it with a spread of cream cheese whipped with a little butter and black and green olives. It was so good! The sourdough is also fantastic. It may be better than Acme bread- which has been my favorite up until now. My 4 muffins and 2 loaves cost 48 dollars- so it's not cheap. But it's Friday morning and I've got no olive bread left, no muffins and only 1/2 a sourdough loaf- so clearly we are not going to be wasting this product. I'm so happy to have such a stellar bakery in Livermore. read more

I have had their sourdough bread at Rangelife and it's a must order item every time we go there. But let me talk about this cinnamon roll that I just thoroughly enjoyed. It is a brioche bread swirled up with cinnamon and a perfect ratio of cream cheese frosting to roll. I am happy to announce that this cinnamon roll is the best cinnamon roll I have ever had. Had Wingen's famous sourdough round when they're at the Sunday market. Was excited they took over Casse Croute storefront on Livermore Avenue. Went in different times to try various menu items. The place was clean and inviting with soft music. Had the bagel with herb cream cheese the first time there and mentioned to them that I wish they'd sell the cream cheese. Well just my luck that yesterday we went to try their BLT they now sell the herb cream cheese. I had to buy a little tub to bring home with a country loaf bread. By the way, the best BLT with thick sliced heirloom tomato, thick cut bacon, lettuce and house made yummy mayo. Loved that they use fresh local ingredients. Wish they had the mimosa yesterday but the Perennial Pontoon was pretty good and refreshing. Bought an extra can to take home. The staff was all friendly and the owner even took time to stop at our table to chat. Wish Wingen much success and to continue serving up yummy food. read more

Came here at 11 AM on a Sunday and they were almost out of bagels, so make sure to get here early if you're looking for bagels! The line was decently long but not too bad. We got the French Onion, Everything, and Sea Salt bagels, which were toasted with cream cheese on the side. Honestly the French Onion was absolutely fire, I would come here just for that in the future. The only problem I had was that the prices were a bit steep for the bagels and sides of cream cheese, and it took a bit longer than I expected for the bagels to get toasted. We happened upon Wingen Bakery after having lunch downtown, and arrived just before they closed. By that time, most everything was gone and I felt like I settled for the one remaining Bear Claw, and lonely little cinnamon roll left over from the days sales. Once home, I thought well let's see how hard this bear claw is.. and it was one of the most amazing pastries I've ever had! FLAKY! BUTTERY and jammed with apple filling! I was so disappointed I only had one! The cinnamon roll was just as good, soft, cinnamony and topped with lots of creamy cheesiness. What a find, and in downtown Livermore even! It looks like the have fresh baked bread items, sandwiches breakfast or lunch, quiche, coffee, even tee shirts! Took a chance an popped into Wingen Bakery on a Sunday afternoon. Given the reviews, I was hopeful, but my expectations were exceeded based on the quality of the food and the service. Had the egg sandwich and the Jambon Beurre with a lemon tart for dessert. It's been a long time since I had high quality jambon and a well-made egg sandwich. We've been here twice now. Each time the staff is so friendly and helpful there are beautiful fresh flowers everywhere and the food is amazing. we've gotten the BLT we've gotten the bagel and cream cheese, avocado toast, salad - those brown butter cookies are off the hook! the quality of this place is beyond, beyond and I'm so glad they're in Livermore!!!! Wonderful local bakery with friendly staff. The breads are on par with Acme and Semifreddi's. The round breads are huge and taste great toasted with butter and jam. If you're lucky and happen to get there when they have baguettes, be sure to grab one. read more
