Roast duck, mostly bones and skin!

If you want to waste $36 on a whole roast duck that is flavorless, tough, primarily bones and skin, with a minuscule amount of anything edible, this is your duck. I hate to be so critical, but just to be somewhat civil, the service and ambiance seem to be just okay. Tried some of their BBQ pork which was okay only because it had some flavor with much more meat by comparison. I definitely wouldn't recommend the roast duck though.

The star of the show is undoubtedly the Tea-smoked Chicken--it's flavorful, aromatic, and perfectly cooked. The roasted chicken and duck are also excellent, with crispy skin and tender meat, making them classic, reliable choices. The restaurant is a typical, no-frills Chinese eatery. It's functional for a casual meal but doesn't offer any particular atmosphere or stylish décor. Be prepared for a relaxed pace. The service is notably slow, so it's not the place for a quick meal if you're dining in. Win's Restaurant is a destination for its fantastic tea-smoked and roasted meats, not for its service or ambiance. It's best enjoyed as a top-tier takeout option. Order to-go to enjoy the excellent food without the wait.

It was around dinner time and wanted some bbq meat to go. We decided to try Win's restaurant again. The place is kind of dark inside. Not too many tables, but it wasn't crowded. We could have eaten there, but we just wanted it to go. We've had their food a few years back, but it was pre-pandemic. We weren't sure what to expect. But we were pleasantly surprised! We got 1/2 a duck and some roast pork. We did reheat the roast pork and duck in an air fryer for about 8 minutes and the skin was SO crispy! And the duck was seasoned just right and not overly salty. Not bad for under $30.

I heard about this place that their roast duck was fantastic. Well, I had to try it for myself. Win's restaurant is out in the avenues. Parking is limited but eventually you'll find a space. The restaurant is small with limited seating. However, most people seem to come here for take out of roast duck and roast pork. The service was excellent, order was taken and the food arrived quickly. I ordered the wonton noodle soup and a plate of roast duck and roast pork. The roast duck and roast pork was very delicious. The young duck meat was tender and flavorful. The roast pork skin was crispy and the meat was tender and full of flavor. Probably one of the best tasting roast duck I've had in a while. The wonton noodle soup on the other hand was very disappointing. The wontons did not taste fresh and the soup was very bland. If you want to try some delicious roast duck and roast pork, you must give this place a try. However, if you're in the mood for wonton noodle soup, there are better places elsewhere.

Amazing place. Everything was great and fresh. Everything was also done in like 15 minutes, they're so fast! Nice and inviting restaurant with very nice staff. The inside is a traditional Chinese restaurant, very homey. We lived everything, but the star was definitely the tea marinated chicken, omg it was so good. Will come back for more and more and more!

A go-to spot for BBQ/roast meats, perfect to get takeout for a family dinner My family and I got a whole Tea Marinated Chicken (their speciality) for $26 cash Probably one of the best chickens I've had in a while, the meat is fresh, tender, not dry at all, slippery texture, and very flavorful The soy and tea marinade is really captured by both the dark chicken skin and the meat Would definitely go again to get the chicken and other roast meats like duck or BBQ pork Best if you can speak Cantonese and pay in cash (all the customers there with me spoke Cantonese and there's a 3% credit card fee)

Looks like there's new owners because this place doesn't look like any of the older photos here. We dined in. Restaurant was clean. Not a lot of people. We were able to grab a table I wanted to sample their deli so ordered several items over rice. The bbq pork was yummy. And kudos for the lean meat Siu yuk had a good portion of meat and fat. Too bad the skin was non existent. BBQ pork chow mein had a lot of wok hei. Simply delicious. Service was fast. 3% surcharge levied if you pay by credit card.

Okay okay okay The place on ocean used to be the crown prince of soy sauce chicken and roast pork. But this might have taken the cake. Arrived at 1pm on a Thursday and we were seated immediately. The staff was kind and provided insight. The restaurant was as clean as a traditional Chinese restaurant can be. The highlight was the tea chicken and roast pork as pictured. This was dead on finger lickin good. The steamed veggies was not it, if I'll be honest. Stray away from the veg, move toward the wedge of meat. Ooowie good stuff Big Mitch

Fish filet clay pot - full of fish! Tasty braise

Unique dishes from a local Chinese eatery - perfecto! Once again, they do it well. This time, I tried the fish clay pot, and it was on the spot! It was a full, heavy takeout container filled with fish filet (yep, deboned!) and tons of roasted tofu. The sauce goes well with rice. I heard that they are open for dine-in nowadays, but takeout is always popular. They are nice And took credit card last time I was back. I think they remodeled now too, so it should be more comfortable. Beware of parking! People who double-parked here got honked at and yelled at by tons of cars passing by and having to go around random cars double-parked. I saw it myself when I parked in an open spot and just watched it unfold in front of me. Lol. Then the driver who was double-parked just moved the car. There is parking usually around the corner or a half a block away - yep, not far at all.

Small restaurant located on Taravel outer sunset. It was my first time eating here and won't be my last! Service was great and friendly. We got a bunch of different dishes, my favorite is their soy sauce chicken. I loved the saltiness of it. They also have some already made Asian savory snacks to go and have duck/cha siu/chicken... My family didn't know they close at 6:30pm and we got there at 6pm. They were very friendly the whole time and we were the last table to leave. My family thought it was weird they were cleaning up and some workers were leaving, we didn't think it's because they actually closed. We thanked everyone at the end and the person chopping the meats at the front was so kind and actually thanked us for coming to support their business it was such a cute and wholesome moment. Overall Rating: 10/10

Peking Duck 北京片皮鴨 ( Half 半) I already ate some.

This is my #200 YELP Review !! 10/17/2025, I ordered from Win's delivered DoorDash after work and I waited at my car for the delivery. Anyways, a co- worker spoke well of the way Win's restaurant stating they cook their Peking Duck by using their hands to turn over the bird while in the oven instead of packing their ovens together with chicken and other food items. Win's carefully cook their duck separately from other food. I taste the difference between Win's Peking Duck and the restaurant i have been a patron for decades in Oakland named New Gold Medal. Win's WIN !!!

Reasonable pricing, service & food. Great small plates. Roast duck, BBQ pork, Asian BBQ spareribs, boiled or soy sauce chicken. Deli & resturant. Busy deli take out traffic . Don't want the place grow to the point where it can be busy to enjoy a meal there!

I had a day where I was literally CRAVING duck but I wanted it to be from an authentic, family-owned restaurant. I'm one of those people that will drive around and see how a place looks on the outside and if I don't see the vibe I'm looking for, I leave, lol! I finally found Win's Restaurant. As soon as I saw the roasted duck in the window AND easy street parking, I was sold. I ordered the roasted duck and BBQ pork over rice. They gave me a huge serving, with extra sauces and I was served very quickly! I'm giving a 4 star rating because I do wish that I had meatier pieces of duck so I know when I go back to request that but overall my craving was satisfied because the flavor was phenomenal!

While we were waiting for our table, we saw 2-3 couples get turned away. The restaurant is small, but the interior is well-decorated. It pays homage to HK posters, music, and culture. They offer two complimentary small bites of smashed cucumber and peanuts. - XO Escargot: a must order, the dish only comes with 6 pieces but it's so worth it. The sauce is garlicky, buttery, and each bite with the milk bread is so good. The bread also has a crispy outer layer while the inside is super soft. - Eggplant: at first, we thought the dish was good, but the pieces on the bottom that soaks up all the sauce makes the eggplant full of umami flavor. This paired so good with rice. - Mapo Tofu Spaghetti: just as you imagine, but very yummy. I wish there was more of a numbing spice personally! - Black Pepper Steak: The steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare and the sauce was very yummy. This dish did not blow me away like some of the others but was still good nonetheless. I really wished we could have try the Singapore Chili Crab, but that would have been too much food. Our server was also fantastic and so kind, I wish I caught her name. Will def be back!

Nostalgic interior with posters of Canto celebrities on the walls and Chinese pop music playing in the background, but not to point where it was drowning out conversation. We had the fried rabbit (limited quantities), green beans, the claypot with Chinese sausage and bacon, the chili crisp pig head, escargot with XO sauce and milkbread, the fish fragrant eggplant (aptly named), the fried squab, the HK black pepper steak, and the abalone special over vermicelli. For dessert, we had the mango pudding, red bean shaved ice with culde de leche , and the huckleberry silken tofu. Like I said, we came hungry. We did struggle to figure out how to go about splitting the abalone over vermicelli amongst our group since everything was piled on a small abalone shell and not enough abalone to go around for everyone. The HK black pepper steak was very good and cooked perfectly medium rare, but wasn't a fan of the raw onions that accompanied it. Everything else was scrumptious! My parents would most definitely gawk at how much we spent on our meal, but I think overall it was worthwhile and I'm glad we got to try it.

(That sounded really snobby, I apologize ) Dim sum is comfort food for me, and 606 knocks it out of the park! From the previous times we had take out I was satisfied. I really enjoyed their salted fish and chicken fried rice because the salted fish had a good amount of flavor. My college buddies were visiting and we all decided to grab dinner - we had a party of 6 including a baby. I recommended 606 because of how much I liked their dishes. It was pretty busy on a Friday evening around 6:30pm. It did take a while for our dishes to come out but I didn't mind that considering I was catching up with old friends. We ordered the green onion pancake, salt and pepper tofu/green beans, salt pepper pork chop, salt pepper chicken wings, salted fish/chicken fried rice, beef chow fun, simon's garlic chicken, and salt pepper fish. We were eating family style and it took about 20 mins or so before our first dish came. The first dish was the beef chow fun. I have to say, all of the dishes were SMALL! Going to a typical Chinese restaurant and eating family style, I expected big portions and leaving the restaurant stuffed and satisfied - I personally had none of this, I left hungry and not satisfied, I was contemplating getting a pizza or burrito nearby. The green onion crepes/pancakes we're small and not good - I had frozen options from Asian grocery stores that had more texture. The salt and pepper porkchops were small too! When I think of salt and pepper porkchops, I think of big and juicy porkchops with a crunch to them. The tofu/green beans order was basically all tofu - where the heck did all the green beans go! The PRICING on these dishes were expensive too - considering we were in Chinatown, similar Chinese restaurants in the area would have definitely fit my needs. Throughout our meal, our dishes came out randomly - we had ordered salt and pepper wings and they have completely forgotten about them even after reminding them we were missing the order. I decided to cancel it. The owner was nice enough gift us sesame seed balls for dessert and the salt pepper wings (the reason why I didn't leave a 1 star review). Honestly, the food and dining experience put a damper on my reunion with my close college friends and in the moment, I didn't put much thought into it but looking back the meal was underwhelming and I left VERY disappointed. Being an SF native, the dining experience feels touristy. I personally will not be coming back in person to dine or take out. There are plenty of other options available in Chinatown that offer more food and at a more affordable price.

My husband and I had an entree each and dumplings, as well as a drink each, and the bill was low considering the amount we had. We did have a reservation. It seems difficult to get a table without one. For our appetizer, we ordered the vegetarian mushroom dumplings. I am not usually a fan of mushrooms (I find the mushy texture unappetizing), but they cooked them perfectly crispy, and they were delicious. I was surprised to have the dumplings served with no sauce to accompany them, however, and did not get a chance to request any. I had the mapo tofu (vegetarian), and it was a decently large serving. It was delicious, and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. Their green onions were my favorite part. My husband got the Peking duck, and I had to steal one of the buns it came with--it was so soft. The food came out pretty quickly, and the staff was attentive overall. I had one slightly awkward interaction with a waiter who seemed a little impatient when I confused myself while ordering, but otherwise the service was great. For drinks, we had an espresso martini and a lychee martini, and they were delicious. Do beware that there is an automatic 18% gratuity added to every check. This is less than I usually tip, so it did not negatively impact my experience. It's a great spot to bring friends or for date nights. I will be returning!
