The garlic chicken was as was the fried rice and chow mein. Service was good, thought, a lot of their items were still not available as soon as they open which is why I give it 4 stars. You can tell this place serves top quality stuff though and considering making this my go to place. Not your ordinary Chinese fast food. I recommend this place, but go around noon or in the evening when all items are available.

It was all right. Definitely a lot on the menu and hard to make it all taste great. Happy they have some strong vegan options. Had the garlic chicken, chow mein and fried rice. It was late, so I had the leftovers of the day, so it was what it was. The recipes for chow mein and fried rice weren't my favorite. Had more of a fusion taste to it, like Cambodian mixed with Chinese mixed with Vietnamese. It was odd. Not really the Chinese food taste I was craving or used to. I wasn't happy with it. I look forward to coming back another time when they have some more menu options stocked and available. It is not fair to judge them based on what was available 30 min before closing.

I give props to this hole in the wall Chinese fast-food place that has legit vegan options! I've been here twice now though admitedely, it's been a solid 4 years between my two visits. My most recent visit was about a month ago when we were in the area and searching for options. We ordered the following: - Garlic Vegan Chickn Bowl with Chow Mein - Veggie Egg Rolls - Free with Yelp Check-in https://bit.ly/3OZb65a - Vegan Beef Won Tons - I like that these are the same price whether they are vegan or not. https://bit.ly/3NBwTPw There's about 18 vegan protein options for bowls and plates. Bowls come with a choice of protein and rice or chow mein. Plates come with a choice of protein, rice, and chow mein. Because there's so many options, I asked the guy working what the most popular vegan item was and he suggested the Garlic Vegan Chickn. Service was interesting...but still good. The guy was even nice enough to offer a sample of this Coke and Silk (non-dairy) creamer concoction. Pretty tasty! I still have my photos from 2018. Though I don't remember exactly what I ordered, it might be fun to look at this photo and play a game of "Guess the vegan protein" What do you think it might be? Your guess is as good as mine...lol! All I know is that I enjoyed it. https://bit.ly/3uef4PB I dig this place. I think I would dig this place more if they offered multi-protein combinations on their vegan options, similar to Sunny's Express in Compton. That said, no need for those two restaurants to compete for my appetite. Both can exist in my world :)

Vegan Chicken Katsu with Curry Sauce

Wok & Roll in Long Beach is a hidden gem! They've revamped their menu from Chinese to Japanese cuisine, and I was so excited to find vegan options. I had the Vegan Chicken Katsu with rice, potatoes, carrots, and curry sauce -- it was crispy, flavorful, and the curry took it over the top! You can pick your spice level too. Big portions, great price (under $20!), and super friendly service. The space is clean, modern, and everything is made fresh to order. Highly recommend -- 9/10!

Holy cow, what a hidden gem! Fast food made fresh to order? Yes, please! The chow mein is the best I've had - never going to Panda Express again. The vegan New Orleans chicken was the bomb, and my bowl (with enough food for 2!) was only $12 with tax! I've had the vegan ramen also which was awesome. The owner/mamager (?) is also super friendly. Can't wait to go back and try everything. Absolutely delicious!

    The note

The best highlight of this online delivery was that a note from them (see attached pictures), I had requested them for minimal waste packaging and a thanks for saving our planet. Their note and care to minimal packaging definitely brought a smile to my face. Thanks once again! But the food was below standard, undercooked "vegan chicken" and the pepper fries were not so good, very dry. I had ordered two vegan chicken dishes, garlic vegan chicken and orange vegan chicken, was very disappointed with it. The hot and sour was just okay. I really wanted to give them a 5 star rating after I saw the note but the food was sadly very disappointing.

One of the best fast food places i've been to. The food is fresh and delicious. The vegan garlic chicken is stellar. their noodles and vegan beef wontons are great too. The family that runs it is super nice. I hope more folks try this place.

This restaurant tries to cater to every type of Asian cuisine imaginable, including Chinese (kung pao chicken), Japanese (ramen), Indian (curry), Vietnamese (pho), and Korean. Offering vegan options is also a good thing, but I think it would do better to focus on a specialty and do it really well. The New Orleans chicken was okay but it tasted generic like most items served at Panda Express. I will definitely return to try more entrees because it's such a convenient location for lunch, but I have been spoiled by eating really authentic Chinese food over the years. The staff was very kind and patiently explained all the options to me. I have never seen the place too crowded in the outdoor dining space, even during peak lunch hours.

I felt welcomed by the cool tones of the interior design and layout actually. We waited by the door as a party of two. Not too long after we entered were we greeted by the hosted and seated outdoors, as we requested. Even though it is on fourth street which has plenty of street traffic, it was still a quiet, comfortable dining experience. Every thing on the menu looked and sounded amazing but I planned to try the ramen because I've been craving a good bowl of ramen for a while. I landed on the shoyu ramen with tofu. I really enjoyed the taste of the broth. The flavor and seasoning was soul-healing. I don't usually go with plain chicken broth in ramen but I felt confident in my choice. I was literally happy dancing with each bite. The ramen was so good! My partner went with a spicy order of tonkotsu ramen with chicken, garlic, and black oil sauce. I tried parts of it and it was also delicious! I wanted to try the sushi but did not have that big of an appetite for both sushi and ramen so I opted for the salmon poke tacos. They tasted very savory and the salmon was flavored really well. The temperature and consistency was not too overwhelming for the tacos shell. The service was attentive and not too invasive. We took the check to the counter to pay. I am excited for our next trip here. It is dangerously walking distance for us! But I had heard so many great things about HiroNori that I wanted to try it anyways. My brother especially kept hyping them up, and he LOVES ramen. And I'm glad I decided to try them out! While HiroNori is a SoCal chain, it still feels like a mom and pop restaurant. The crispy rice with tuna was EXCELLENT! Everything you want from crispy rice and spicy tuna. The tonkatsu was delicious! Great depth of flavor. They bring you garlic and spicy paste on the side. I had to add A LOT of spicy paste to get it up to the level I wanted, but while at other restaurants I've lost the broth flavor when adding too much spice, the spicy paste just enhanced the tonkatsu broth. And the pork in the tonkatsu - truly next level. This is probably the best pork I've ever had in a ramen dish. The noodles were also fantastic with the perfect amount of bite. I loved my jammy egg as well. The restaurant itself is smaller, with fun lighting. There is a parking lot which is great. They do not have tipping, instead they have a service charge of a little over 17%. Definitely worth it!

I'm a sukiyaki broth lover, so it's somewhat similar to that taste profile. I like how they also provide garlic and house spicy sauce as it just makes the ramen even better and seals the deal. They also provide watermelon infused water, which was perfect for a warm day out. Although this restaurant is quite small, service was fast and very accommodating. I have been here several times and service plus quality of the food never changes! Seats here don't have any back support but it adds to the modern aesthetic and vibe of the restaurant. I've been eyeing the cucumber crab salad, so I look forward to coming back and trying it next time.

I had those the first time I came and they were delicious the furikake fries were good. Just needed a tiny bit of salt and it would've made them pop a little more. The ramen however...... ouch. The noodles are amazing! Very delicious and love the size and texture. The meat was like forgettable. Like didn't take like anything sadly. Now the broth. That was the most disappointing thing. I honestly thought something was wrong. Literally tasted like water. I remember coming here last time but I could only remember the octopus balls so I gave it a second chance and wow did I immediately remember why I don't come here. Honestly the broth was such a turnoff. The corn side had more flavor than the broth. The service also pissed me off. First like several tables were sat and ordered and our server didn't come to our table. Second we order waters and a beer. Then ordered the fries and the ramen. Tell me why the waters came last. Like I had to ask for them again. Next we got our ramen and it came with a regular tablespoon. Which I didn't want to make a huge deal out of, but honestly that spoon is only given upon request so to get it out right is weird, especially at a ramen restaurant. I noticed every table around us automatically got the renge. I had to ask for the renge. On top of that I had to ask a random server cause our visited our table once to deliver the water and that it's. We had to ask for our check and for a box and for the renge. Quite ridiculous enough for me to complain about it in a review. Literally go somewhere else it's not worth the 70$ when it tastes like water.

Parking is a bit of a game of chance thanks to the tiny lot, so plan accordingly. Once you're inside though, the restaurant is super clean, modern, and the service is fast and attentive. We started with the papaya salad. It was just okay--I'm still trying to figure out why there was a blanket of romaine lettuce casually lounging on top. I ordered medium spice, which turned out to be "medium if you breathe fire for fun." The papaya was also a little more raw than I personally like. The tom kha soup was decent, but the real MVP was the drunken noodles with beef. Those noodles were absolutely swimming in savory goodness and perfectly soft. I would've happily ordered a second plate and called it "dessert." Overall, I'd definitely come back--mostly because those drunken noodles are already living rent-free in my head.

My family and I were heading to the Aquarium of the Pacific and wanted to find a good dinner spot…read morenearby afterward. I came across this place on TikTok because of their famous Thai tea popsicle, so naturally I had high hopes. First off, we got incredibly lucky with parking. I can definitely see how parking could be a nightmare since the lot is tiny, so consider finding a spot part of the dining experience. When we arrived, the inside was cute and seemed clean. We were seated outside, which also looked nice at first glance, but I noticed quite a few spider webs around the windows. My boyfriend even felt webs brushing against his arm while we were sitting there, which wasn't exactly the extra ambiance we were expecting. We ordered quite a bit: spicy Pad Thai, Bang Bang Shrimp, Pad See Ew, mango sticky rice, and of course the Thai tea with the popsicle. I'll give credit where it's due. The Bang Bang Shrimp was easily the best thing we ordered and was absolutely delicious. The Thai tea popsicle also lived up to the TikTok hype, although the actual Thai tea itself was on the sweeter side. If you love sugar, you'll probably enjoy it. My biggest complaint with the food was the spicy Pad Thai. The flavor was great, but it came with what felt like a whole chicken farm and a cameo appearance from the noodles. I ordered Pad Thai, not chicken with noodle garnish. The Pad See Ew was also noticeably salty. Now you're probably wondering why I'm giving this place a low rating if most of the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.
