Visited Wolf, after supporting friends at the NYC Marathon, and it was a splendid choice. This restaurant is on the second floor of the 57th Street Nordstrom. As soon as you are escorted to your table, you start taking in the beauty of this place. It has a super long bar, tables overlooking 57th Street, and cleanliness all around you. Our Server, Malcolm, did a great job. His recommendations were spot on and ensured our comfort throughout the entire meal. We were in the mood for pasta and chose the following AMAZING dishes: Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe and the Rigatoni & Spicy Sausage. I cannot commend both of these selections, enough. The way the cheese melted within each dish and the pleasant spiciness of each piece of sausage made these pastas HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Cute restaurant situated inside Nordstrom. It seems to not be so busy inside most of the time so it's a nice place to relax before or after shopping. The place is quite spacious and they have a bar as well. We ordered one of the mushroom noodles dish, chicken sandwiches, octopus, and budino for desserts. This is still a hidden gem and their new lunch specials are fantastic. We tried the steak frites and it was sublime with a tender hangar steak in chimichurri with a side of crispy fries - all for $25. Be sure to grab the king crab and octopus salad along with the rigatoni. They were out of the king crab spaghetti today but definitely make sure to add that if it is available. I got my food to go for lunch and staff was very nice. There is a seating area/ black leather bench while you wait for your food. What I ordered: Spaghetti (king crab, bottarga, calabrian,chili, pangrattato) $30 - this very filling and pretty tasty. They didn't skimp on the king crab so there was at least crab in every bite. Grilled Octopus (potato, saffron aioli, blistered pepper relish, smoked paprika, cilantro) $20 - presentation was very nice for a to go box. Slightly on the salty side but it was tasty dish. Cubed potato exterior was crispy and the octopus wasn't overly charred which I liked. It did have a smoky taste from the smoked paprika. Came for dinner during Happy Hour with a couple of friends. We got the polenta fritters to share and I got the rigatoni for entree. The polenta was alright - I liked the ricotta and honey it was served with, but the fritters were just fine. I definitely wouldn't buy it at full price especially since it's just 4 fritters, but I would consider it at happy hour. The rigatoni dish was good - nice al dente noodles and flavorful sauce. However, be aware that it's not just the sausage that is spicy; all the sauce is quite spicy! I am pretty weak to spice and it would've been nice to know that the entire dish was spicy because I was having trouble eating it without downing tons of water. The servers were very attentive, which was important since I kept finishing my water. I never had to ask or wait for water once despite how fast I was going through it, and they cleaned plates and utensils between courses. Overall a pretty good meal, but pretty pricey for the quantity - at happy hour prices I'd be happy to revisit, but at regular prices I'd be a bit reluctant. read more

Very fun place for a bite to eat and some drinks. I met some friends here for a pre-show nosh and had a wonderful time. We had a table by the windows overlooking Broadway and it was fun to watch the world go by. We were there early and there was a happy hour menu with drink and food specials. I loved the Polenta balls not to mention the rigatoni as well as the prosciutto. My cocktail, the Brooklyn, was terrific as well. Service was amazing. Our waiter was engaging, efficient and fun. The prices are a little high but hey, you're in midtown Manhattan so it isn't going to be a the cheapest place you've ever eaten. Not terrible, but overall an overrated experience, at least based on what one might hope for from an establishment situated in a fancy department store, or highly recommended by friends in the neighborhood. My martini was ok but a bit dry, which was not as I had ordered it. I eventually got the Prime burger, which was overly rich and heavy--just felt like a bomb sitting in my stomach --at the restaurant and for hours afterwards. And hours, and hours. Shared the Wolf salad which was also too heavy/fatty (for a salad), I thought. The artisanal baguette served with fennel honey butter and roasted garlic was great, even if paying for bread does irk me. Good wine selection; could offer more beers but the few options were local and interesting. Venue is admittedly cool, with a nice view of 57th street. Felt comfortable sitting at the bar relaxing and waiting for my party. As indicated, a friend works nearby, and her and her co-workers swear by and frequent the place, so I'll likely give it another shot, and hope to find something a bit lighter on the menu. read more

Never been before. What a find! I was meeting a friend who wanted a place convenient to A line. So I looked around and picked this one. Spacious, quiet (an amazing luxury in the city), fabulous food and good service. Price is reasonable for the quality of food and overall experience. I got the squash dish which was perfect. My friend got the tortellini and enjoyed it. Just a word of warning : portion sizes are more European style which is a plus in my book. We got a nice table by the window. For a Tuesday night, this was definitely a great dinner choice. We wanted something close to Columbus circle that was going to pack a punch. The service was great and the food was served quickly. I ordered the Buratta and it was delicious. We asked for more bread because well we came to eat. As usual "the burger man" ordered the burger and fries while I ordered the Gnocchi! Yum yum. We always eat a few times at this excellent restaurant as we shop in NYC. Our waitress is a young lady from Mexican descent (bad at remembering names at near 70), my apologies. We go to NYC every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary & rekindle fav times in the greatest energetic city in the world. She ran down the new menu items and checked with the Chef for minor modifications. She is the kindest & most authentic woman who always looks out for us. The meal was superb so we ended up going to their amazing happy hour early dinner & dinner the following day. The ingredients are always super fresh, clean, healthy and always have leftovers. Prices are great. Beer for $6 and cocktails for $12. Definitely easy to miss this place from the outside. Inside space is quite sizable. Grabbed a window seat and enjoyed our pumpkin ale draft. Didn't like the concept of pumpkin but the waitress let us taste test and we were sold. Also tried the polenta fries and definitely recommend. Different from your average fries. I had a grand solo date. Did some shopping and dining all in one place, what more could you ask for . I dined around lunch time , the restaurant was pretty chill. There is plenty of seating here. As good as it gets... I had no expectations for a department store restaurant, but Wolf certainly has changed my mind. First, the setting is first class luxury the whole way - very Aman-esque with chic, simplistic aesthetic. Reminded me of an a sleek Japanese restaurant, namely with the huge amount of bar counter seating. Starting with service - fantastic in every way, from the very friendly host to hands on, smiling servers that spoke and moved with panache. When our first server had to leave, he came over and introduced us to the new server and wished us a pleasant meal. We came for restaurant week to enjoy a 3-course dinner for $39. You have a choice from 3 appetizers, 3 mains, and 2 desserts. I opted for the special Tuna sashimi appetizer with citrus. Very refreshing and excellent, however my spouse had the Grilled Octopus which we both agreed was many times better. I highly recommend getting that. For the main, I had Chicken with butternut squash and barley - out of this world. I didn't want to share a single bite with my spouse. For dessert, we had the richest chocolate mouse you could ever imagine, served with a sugar cookie. I only wish they had provided more cookies to dip into the chocolate. Absolutely amazing - my sweet tooth was perfectly satisfied. The biggest surprise was the Bourke Street Baguette, arguably the best baguette I have ever eaten. The outside had the perfect crisp and inside was soft and fluffy as if it came right out of the oven. Served hot, with a side of fennel honey butter and roasted garlic cloves with balsamic vinegar. DIVINE!!! The waiter had suggested it when I asked why there was no bread served on the table, typical of most Italian restaurants. While it is an additional $8 charge, I highly HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend getting it - you will not be disappointed. My best friend's friend invited me to a "fancy" lunch at this place and it definitely did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived - the manager Enrique was super accommodating and kind and I would definitely give the service here a 10/10 from all the staff that worked here. They had so many yummy options on their menu that it was really hard to narrow down what we want - here is what we went with. Appetizer: Grilled Octopus, Grilled asparagus, Burrata, Wolf Salad, Yellowfin Tuna Crudo. (They were all absolutely delicious but for me the most gets are the grilled octopus - the flavors were amazing for this dish and the octopus was grilled to perfection and the yellowfin tuna crudo - super tasty and so fresh. Entree: Gnocchetti, Spaghetti, Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe (they were all absolutley delicious bowls of carbs but my favorite is definitely the spaghetti - so tasty with such amazing flavors. We got the mai tai, which I definitely recommend for anyone who's a fan of tropical fruit flavors and drinks slightly stronger on the alcoholic side. We were really happy to have scored a $39 restaurant week deal (plus a relatively cheap cocktail by NY standards) at such a chic and relaxing restaurant. Depending on what time you go, this restaurant could also be one of your more COVID-friendly options given that tables are pretty spaced out and our party was able to get a lot of privacy. Pretty good place to have lunch after a long day of shopping. This restaurant is located inside Nordstrom, right before you enter (or exit) the designer shoe salon. I enjoyed a glass of the Vietti 2017 Barbera D'Asti and the Agnolotti: stuffed pasta filled with ricotta, can and cooked in brown butter, sage, hazelnuts, aged balsamic, parmigiano. The dish was delicious. I enjoyed the various flavors and textures and really appreciated that they did more than just smother it in marinara sauce. Unfortunately, as I realized about an hour or so later (while sitting in LaGuardia airport waiting to board a flight that had been delayed for several hours), the portion size was definitely not large enough to constitute a substantive dinner. But for $8 you get their bread still warm on your table, with homemade butter and garlic they are just divine, totally can eat that all day.
